My listing is 100% Accurate. A basic self-serve listing. If you have questions, ask. Check in is seamless and stellar. You get an entry code, message about internet passwords, and location of available bunks. The cleanliness varies based on the cooperation of guests. It is a self-service listing and we only clean once per week. I must say, Natalia is very critical for a person who didn't follow the house rules herself. She would wash her clothing and undergarments and hang them from all of the other guest bunks, our wooden railings, and furniture. I wonder what impression regarding our cleanliness she left for the other guests. This was particularly disturbing because the laundry room door was about four feet from her assigned bunk. Communication was outstanding until Natalia realized she didn't have the money to pay for the remainder of her reservation. There is a private online communication system for the house guests. I respond to questions within 1 hour and take action on issues in less than 24-hours. I'm not sure any Airbnb guest could ask for more. Natalia's review is simply retaliation because she requested to stay for free after realizing she didn't have the money to pay. I told her that was not possible, but I was willing to work with her and Airbnb to delay the payment if they authorized it. After my response, she stopped communicating and made a variety of false claims to Airbnb. So, please take her assessment with a grain of salt. The house is located only a few blocks from Pennsylvania Avenue. This makes for convenient travel throughout Washington, DC. However, it is not located in a tourist district. You must use public transportation to access amenities. This is mentioned in the listing, so it should not have been a surprise to Natalia. I think the biggest surprise was racial. Natalia did not engage her hosts or any of the guests of Asian or African decent. While I saw her laughing and joking with European guests, she never attempted to engage those she deemed beneath her. Her English language was limited, so she generally used a translation app with most Europeans. However, when I attempted to speak with her in person, she'd throw her hand in my face and say "No English". She was extremely rude from the onset. So, I think she may have been surprised and disappointed that her Airbnb was in an historically Black neighborhood. This most surprising rating is for value. She booked an Airbnb in one of the most expensive real estate markets in the United States for $14/day. This listing includes free WiFi, bed linen (No linen fee), sleeping bunk, shower, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, air conditioning, hot water, towels, soap, free use of clothes washer and dryer, kitchen for in-unite meal preparation, and free locker use. All for $14/day or the Washington, DC cost for lunch. We are not a 5-star accommodation. If we were looking at hotel ratings based on amenities offered, maybe I could justify her 2-star rating. However, we are a basic, self-serve student accommodation located in an African-American area of Washington, DC. We don't attempt to hide that or mislead anyone in our listing about what to expect. We provide as much as we can to make the students and interns on a budget comfortable during their time in Washington, DC. We communicate regularly with our guests and address any issues that may arise in a timely fashion. We also do all this for ROCK BOTTOM PRICES. SO, OUR VALUE IS MOST CERTAINLY 5-STARS. (Airbnb customer service actually reviewed all of Natalia's messages documenting her problems with payment and asking to stay. This is a revenge review and honestly should have been removed per Airbnb policy.)

There are two full restrooms with showers. This guest turned off the water stream in the lower level restroom, despite the note asking guests to leave it on, during a cold snap in DC. He did not complain until AFTER his two day stay. We then found the pipes frozen. We had to immediately rent an industrial heater and unfreeze the pipes to keep them from bursting. I'm sorry he didn't have access to cold water (the hot water was still fine), but he can only blame himself or Mother Nature.
Great working professional in her forties looking to host like-minded travelers.
