A cozy bed with a warm sea breeze. Candle-lit lanterns and battery operated lights keep the Palapa Truck well lit after the sun sets...and of course, the moonlight and starlight.

Endroit insolite, calme, dans la réserve Sian kàan à quelques pas de la mer! Un peu petit pour les gens de plus 1m90 :) parfait pour admirer un lever de soleil. Je recommande vivement.

This place was exactly as promised and more! We had a wonderful stay, and would recommend this to anyone wishing to get away from the crowds and elevated Tulum prices, while staying closer to the beach in a better setting... The hosts made it really easy to settle in, and we think even people not used to camping will find the setup comfortable. You have everything you need - including flushing toilets and showers. The beach is very close, and there is a restaurant/bar on site if you don't want to cook yourself (this is done on a wood bbq with plenty of wood provided). The hosts were very friendly and communicated easily. They go out of their way to make you comfortable. Some advice that might be helpful: We had a rented car and found it very handy, since the place is a bit far out of town if you need supplies (only very small shops near by - a few km) or want to check some of the sights further away (gran Cenote, Tulum ruins, ...) If you don't have a car stop for supplies of food/drinks/ice on the way or in Tulum first. Then you can start relaxing the moment you arrive! The AirBnB position is not very accurate on the map - the place is actually in the Sian Ka'an reserve (about 3km from the gate) so somewhat further from the main hotel street in Tulum than indicated by AirBnB Stay an extra night if you can - we wished we had!

Are you looking for a secluded getaway? Are you looking for a private beach getaway? Do you love camping? Want to enjoy all of Tulum's offerings but want to be able to retreat from the crowds at the end of the day? Do you want hosts that go above and beyond to make you feel taken care of? If you said yes to any of these questions, you should book with Orlando and Margarita. Our stay in the palapa truck was great. We had visited Tulum four years ago and had a pretty negative experience, too many people everywhere and prices way too high. Both of these things haven't really changed as Tulum is expanding by the day. However, staying in the palapa truck made us not want to go home. We enjoyed being able to go out during the day knowing we had a beautiful retreat to come back to. The beach at the campground was the only beach we visited during our stay, because we basically had the whole place to ourselves. Aside from all of these lovely details, what really made our stay was Orlando's hospitality. Orlando truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We can't wait for our next trip back! Thank you again for creating such a great space!

The Palapa truck is an amazing and unique place to stay. It gets hot sometimes and the showers aren't the warmest. But seriously you get to stay in such a beautiful and secluded location for such a great price who cares about tiny details. The truck is about 25 min cycle to some of the best restaurants on the beach road. Margarita and Orlando were amazing hosts. Always on hand to help and re stock the truck with anything we needed. We even had some noisy neighbours on the campsite. Orlando and Margarita laid down the law and they were very quiet after that. Orlando cooked us a beautiful lunch with fresh local ingredients and brought us fresh fish which was very tasty. If you're happy to rough it a little bit you'll have a stay in paradise unlike any other.

The palapa truck was an amazing place to stay. It was the perfect way to get a camping experience in the Sian Ka'an without having to worry about lugging around a bunch of camping gear (Especially if you are interested in grilling/ cooking). The truck had everything you could possibly need including well thought out details like extra wood, cooking utensils, pots/pans, French press coffee maker, and 2 coolers. We took Orlando and Margarita's advice and picked up some fresh fish to cook from El Merito co-op in Tulum Pueblo. Having a few beers while cooking over the hardwood fire in the jungle was definitely a special experience and a highlight of our trip. Highly recommended.

I have been living in Tulum for 17 years. I've seen Tulum grow from dirt roads to boutique hotels -- it remains paradise for me and my family! I might be new to Airbnb (and most technology in general) but I have many years of experience working in different hotels and restaurants, some even family owned. The palapa truck has been my little house for the last few years -- a true test to small living -- I wanted the ability to sleep wherever I wanted near the beach. I'm always adding little touches to my tiny house, and with the help of my partner, Margarita, we have made our tiny palapa truck available to others! Come experience tiny living in Tulum.
