Nearby attractions include Emerald Pool, The Waitukubuli National Trail, The Kalinago Territory and much more!
For the outgoing traveler looking for a rewilding experience! Enjoy the comfort of a roof over your head in our beautiful open air hammock hut or pitch your own tent on the land.
Our hammock hut, which hosts our 4 sleeping hammocks in the shared space with other travellers, is built with a mixture of local balata lumber from our backyard, stone collected from the river and imported pine. It is immersed in botanical gardens and surrounded by lush tropical rainforest. You will be provided with one comfortable sleeping hammock, or you can choose to pitch your own tent on our 6 acres of tropical rainforest and permaculture homestead.
We have a large property with lush greenery as well as breath taking mountain views with plenty of space for you to explore, select your idea spot to lounge and relax in nature.
After following the perimeter-walking path that takes you around to explore the entire property you’ll definitely feel reconnected to nature. There are several lookout points along the way, which you can take in the sweeping mountain views. We have a Fantasy Forest (in the making) with swings and colorful upcycled tire structures along with an aquaculture pond. It’s enjoyed by both the children and adults!
Our main house was built traditionally with cob using natural methods, and it also features our cob oven. We have culinary herb gardens, which you may access, along with wild edibles available for foraging. We would be happy to help you identify any plants!
Along with your stay, you’ll have access to our hammock hut and facilities which are equipped with electricity for functioning lights and outlets powered by our solar system, a small camp style kitchenette (with double gas burner, utensils, sink with drinking water, calabash wooden storage bowls and small fridge), a library and an outdoor lounging area with comfortable hammocks, chairs and dining tables. Homemade organic breakfasts and dinners made with produce grown from our land are available upon request and served in the comfort of your own space in fresh air.
There are communal outdoor composting toilets (outhouses), changing rooms and open air showers, which are supplied with fresh, clean mountain water that is suitable for drinking. There is currently no hot water facility, but bathing in cold, raw, living water is all part of the rewilding experience to reconnect your mind, body and soul to the healing powers of nature.
Travelers also enjoy taking a walk to our natural river pools to immerse themselves in the invigorating water or bathe under our bamboo shower set in a secluded area of the property amongst tropical rainforest.
Accès des voyageurs
At Beyond Vitality, solo travellers, couples and the entire family can enjoy a very unique experience like no other. We are deeply connected to nature, living sustainably and off the grid – no television, city lights, noise pollution or traffic. Our electricity is generated by the sun (solar panels) and our fresh clean water comes from a natural spring and stream on the mountains behind us. Everything we do is with sustainable living, holistic health and happiness in mind.
Our peaceful property, found on the side of a mountain with cool elevations and spectacular views, is surrounded by tropical rainforest, botanical gardens, flowers and a stream running through it with natural pools perfect for cooling off. We have 6 acres of rich and fertile organic land as made evident by the abundance of organic fruit trees, vegetables and medicinal herb gardens that spread throughout our permaculture homestead.
Our main house is traditionally built of cob, a natural resource, also known as mud! We have a campground you can pitch your tent on, an open-air hammock hut offering comfortable sleeping hammocks and some lovely eco cabins.
Our delicious homemade meals are created using fresh, organic produce from our own vegetable and herb gardens. Enjoy our unique Rainforest Cuisine. You can do your morning yoga and meditation with an amazing view of the ocean on the horizon or have a cup of “bush tea” while lounging in a hammock. We also have plenty of Excursions and Activities to offer!
Our nature camp is a place made with the intention of helping you truly connect to nature and leave with a feeling of health and rejuvenation.
We are proud to offer our services in such a special place on Earth! We love sharing this good vibe with people who have an appreciation for nature and holistic living.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
Beyond Vitality Nature Camp is a place for people who enjoy meeting other travelers, sharing communal outdoor facilities and interacting with the hosts. We consider our place a cross between an eco lodge, hostel and homestay – hence the Nature Camp!
We love getting to know travellers and meeting individuals from around the world when we get the chance (between caring for our two young children). Whether it’s cutting a coconut, identifying wild edible plants or having a chat about island life or off grid living, we are grateful that we and our children get to meet so many interesting people from all backgrounds and walks of life.
We often have international Work Exchange volunteers helping out at the property that are just as eager to mingle and share their experience. You are more than welcome to learn and get your hands dirty in the garden along with us, discuss holistic health and sustainability or ask about our packages, services and activities. We can help you arrange outings or even bring you on exciting full day excursions ourselves (when available). These can be booked in advance or discussed upon arrival.

Nature Camp Guidelines
No Smoking: Please do not smoke in the cabins as it is a fire hazard and not conducive of a healing and healthy environment.
Trash and Compost: Please dispose of all trash in garbage bins and organic matter in our designated compost area. We love to keep our planet clean and give back to it.
Eco Friendly Products: We avoid the use of toxic pharmaceuticals & commercial personal products for health reasons and to keep our land organic and chemical free, as a place for healing. Please consider using natural or biodegradable personal care products as our greywater goes back to the land to nourish our plants. We have some affordable and effective recipes made from scratch on the Home and Body Care section of our website. Baking soda, coconut oil and a few essential oils go a long way.
What to Bring: Travellers staying in our campground or hammock hut are asked to bring their own towel and camping gear (if choosing to stay in a tent) as well as warm clothes as nights can get cold. Mosquitoes are not an issue, therefore bug spray is normally unnecessary. Towels are provided only for those staying in cabins, and a flashlight also if needed, though bringing your own is suggested. Cabin guests get their own key and parking space. The rainforest can be wet and rugged, therefore come prepared with sturdy hiking shoes and fast drying clothing.
We appreciate your cooperation!

Hi. We’re The S Family – Stephan, Sara, Skyla and Sadiel.
We’re the faces behind Beyond Vitality.
IN A NUTSHELL…
We are an unschooling, home birthing, do-it-yourself kind of family. We consider ourselves very unconventional with strong family values. We really enjoy being outdoors, living a simple, healthy and conscious lifestyle and being surrounded by positive people and energy. We live an out of the box lifestyle away from the rat race. Our eco lodge and homestead is off the grid and immersed in nature. We are in the tropical rainforest of Dominica living holistically and sustainably. We forage wild edibles and grow our own organic food using permaculture techniques, use plants and medicinal herbs to heal, and try to live a balanced healthy lifestyle by learning to listen to our body and becoming proactive for our own health and happiness.
We are authentic and genuine, and certainly not perfect! We are rewilding our life, in all aspects. We came from a very different background, so every day we take it a step further, as we grow on our own journey to self-discovery, in this modern world. We are passionate life learners now and forever. In the process, we document our unique transition into this lifestyle and share everything we learn along the way!
I myself am from Northern Ontario, Canada and my husband, from Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago. We have recently relocated to Dominica. Being nature lovers, we found our own little piece of paradise on the Nature Island and opened Beyond Vitality Nature Camp, a family run, off the grid nature camp in the beautiful rainforest of Dominica, offering work exchange & adventure programs, beautiful community style accommodations and a unique holistic health and sustainable living experience. Everything we do is with sustainable living, great health and happiness in mind.
I am also a Holistic Nutritionist and Fitness Consultant. For the past 5 years, I’ve been living and teaching my passion – holistic health. I’ve recently taken it a step further by learning to grow my own natural “medicine” and food off the land, and sharing the knowledge as I go. I educate individuals and families to gain control of their health and happiness by going back to basics with real food and holistic living!
My husband Stephan, coming from an international music background, has jumped from an urban lifestyle to living off his own land. He now knows all the ins and outs of Beyond Vitality. He is the one diving into permaculture and organic gardening books, giving excursions and hikes, while also maintaining the camps organic fruit trees and gardens. Stephan brings creative ideas and spreads his positive, laid back energy within the entire e experience true nature, organic homegrown food, natural fresh water pools, unobstructed stargazing, and the amazing sounds of the tropical rainforest. We are eager to welcome you to Beyond Vitality Nature Camp! :)
