Peaceful home on a beautiful rural acreage close to the local Mount View & Polkolbin vineyards. Enjoy the views, explore the valley, do some star gazing while sitting around the firepit, eat inside or out. Pets welcome.

Le logement

Tucked below sandstone bluffs and cliffs, this homestead is located on a working farm just under 2 hours north of Sydney.

The home is very comfortable with a recently renovated living room and kitchen, spacious bedrooms and clean bathrooms.
The garden area has a large fire pit, open grassed areas, pretty trees, grapevines, and a long driveway just perfect for the children to ride their bikes. You can bring your well behaved dogs provided you agree to abide by the established pet rules.

Abundant bird life and amazing views make relaxing on the verandah one of those special experiences to treasure. If you enjoy bushwalking, bike riding or horse riding this valley is perfect to explore, with access up into the Watagan National Park just down the road. The Great North Walk is quite close and makes the homestead a great stopover.
Just 20 minutes from the lower Hunter Valley vineyards and tourist areas, you can enjoy the peaceful privacy of the homestead, and also partake of all the scheduled Hunter Valley social events and fine dining.

All linen is provided.

There is a wrap around verandah on 4 sides of the house and a large covered deck area overlooking the garden. A BBQ and outdoor eating area can be found here. The other verandahs are quiet areas to sit and read or just enjoy the sunsets. These areas can be secured to keep toddlers and pets safe.

Accès des voyageurs

The house and the house yard are yours to enjoy during your stay, and of course you can explore our quiet end of the valley on foot, bike or horseback if you choose. Given prior notice, you can visit the main farm and animals, collect eggs or fish in the creek.
Please note that if bedrooms are not booked they will be locked, in order to minimise cleaning and washing costs when the house is under subscribed.

We are available if help is needed and are happy to show guests around the property. It is a working farm and we are in and out doing chores as necessary.

Autres remarques

A minimum stay of 2 nights helps us keep the price down, but if you want to stay just one night there is a small surcharge depending on the booking details.
There is no mobile phone reception at the house, but visitors may get a signal at the main gate. Data is available through our Satellite internet connection, for services such as viber and messenger, and there is a landline which can be used for important calls. Excessive phone charges ($15 plus) will be deducted from the security deposit.
At times of extremely heavy rainfall the access roads may flood and become unpassable. In this case visitors will be unable to travel into the valley and will need to arrange another time for their visit. We will endeavour to contact you if access becomes difficult.
DOGS
Dogs are not allowed on the furniture or in the carpeted bedrooms at all.
We prefer them to sleep/stay outside on the deck (there is only one kennel) but understand that some dogs are unsettled and so suggest that they sleep in the laundry or living area on bedding you supply.
Scratching and or chewing of fittings etc is not to be allowed and screen doors have just been replaced so please don't allow your dogs to jump up or damage them.
The house yard is not dog proof so the dogs need to be locked onto the wrap around verandah if and when necessary. If you are out for the day please lock them on the deck rather than inside the house. They will feel quite safe there.
There are chickens, cows, calves and horses in close proximity - dogs shouldn't chase them or stress them.
Any damage or cleaning required due to pets will incur a fee to the value of the cost to rectify, plus a 25% administration fee.

Care for the property, keeping a clean and tidy household whilst you stay.
Unauthorised extra people are not permitted to stay.
No smoking within the house, but smoking outside is permitted. Cigarette butts are to be disposed of in the garbage bins.
Visitors need to be economical in their use of water, as we rely on rainwater for household use.
There are no council garbage services, so visitors are requested to compost vegetable scraps, and keep rubbish waste to a minimum. We are not able to handle disposable nappies and visitors are requested to take them home to put in their household rubbish. We are committed to reducing pollution, chemicals and waste so please join us in this endeavour.
Visitors wanting to bring pets should request permission from the owners prior to their visit and agree to pet rules below.

Very comfortable house, quiet, scenic and out of the way. Good for active kids with friendly chooks to feed. Welcoming hosts too!

Clean and comfortable beds. The location is just stunning. Big deck with plenty of furniture for groups to enjoy the scenery and each others company.

Toni & Michael made us feel very welcome, showing us around the farm. The house is spotlessly clean and beautiful with brand new kitchen and floors and very private and peaceful, surrounded by cows and chickens...a real farm experience. Dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms and we wondered how our dog would go sleeping in the laundry but she was fine. We were perfectly rested by the time we left to start a 3 day hike of the Great North Walk which passes very near the house. Thank you for our stay and we hope to be back!

Well that was good! The house has perfect NE aspect and plenty of sun to main bedroom and living area. There is no noise other than country noise: cows, birds etc. No road noise. The house is about 30 years old at a guess but recently renovated and furnished, all very comfortable, top quality kitchen very well equipped, big TV, stereo etc. A secure deck goes around most of the house and is safe for children and dogs. Outdoor eating area has nice furniture, good BBQ, roof over. The owners are nearby, good communicators, friendly and helpful. Don't expect to go to nearby shops to stock up, bring what you need. Pleasant walks nearby, national parks and state forests. Overall, delightful, will return.

Loved our stay. Toni was super accommodating even offering to buy milk for us before we arrived. The fire was blazing by the time we arrived with an excellent stocked pantry with all the staples and a coffee capsule machine to boot!! Toni was also excellent in letting us know what was happening on the farm for our 3yr old daughter to get involved. The place was also immaculately clean and presentable. Loved watching the sunrise in the morning :)) we will definitely be back.
