I was born and brought up in Yanaka and have lived here for forty years, which means I know a lot of places where only local people know. If I have time, I’ll show you around them.
In Yanaka, there remains a lot of traditional Japanese houses which have survived from air raids in the war. Yanaka is one of the most popular places in Tokyo and many people visit here, not only people from overseas but also Japanese people. In this area, you can see a lot of shops and traditional Japanese life from different eras.

Hello, I was born and brought up in Yanaka. I have lived here for forty years and have never lived anywhere else but in Yanaka. We run a Japanese Sento, a Japanese public bath, and I am the fourth-generation owner of the Sento that has been around since the Edo period. These days there are few Sento left in Japan. I keep the tradition and culture of Sento.
When I have free time, I go travelling abroad and have been to around thirty countries. I speak little English, but I've travelled alone a lot and I managed it on my own. I love sports. I am recently into surffing and used to be a professional MMA(Mixed Martial Arts) wrestler in Japan. I really like to talk to people, especially those from overseas, who have different bacgrounds from us. Normally I am really busy at work, but if we have time, I'd like to show you arond some local places in Yanaka or night spots in Tokyo!
