À propos de ce logement

Lovely two-story Mountain Farm Guesthouse. Stylishly furnished to fit up to 6 people. Conveniently situated in southwest Colorado, between Durango and Telluride on the famous San Juan Skyway. Close to Mesa Verde, trails, skiing and mountain biking.

Le logement

The guesthouse is beautifully furnished. There is a dining area on the first level along with a washer and dryer and area to store bikes, skis, etc.. Upstairs you will find the majority of the living space with great views of the La Plata Mountain range. The master bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom has a full bed. There's also a twin size sleeping nook in the living room for one person. Some guests have also had a 6th person sleep on the couch in the living room (usually for families that have 4 children).

Accès des voyageurs

Guests have their own private area and are welcome to explore the 12 acres of the property. There are milking goats, chickens, and a barn cat along with a small garden area that guests are welcome to interact with and enjoy. There's a small outdoor space to drink your morning coffee or have an evening cocktail and we provide a charcoal grill if you would like to grill out in the summer.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

We like to leave the guests alone to enjoy themselves. Of course we are here if they need help or have questions about the local attractions.

Autres remarques

We are located on the San Juan Skyway, a great mountain scenic byway. Close to Mesa Verde National Park (20 minute drive to the entrance). During the right season be prepared to receive complimentary home-grown veggies. Nothing like a tomato fresh from the garden! Fresh eggs and goats milk may also be available seasonally. :) Our place is excellent for stargazing at night, friendly for families (room to explore outside, board games and a baby gate for the top of the stairs), and our guests have said the beds are very comfortable to sleep in.

It was the perfect situation for our little family! The house was clean, everything worked, the cookware was usable (!) and the gift of farm fresh eggs and organic coffee was a sweet bonus. The location of the house was perfect for visiting Mesa Verde and Cortez. We recommend this home to anyone looking for a quiet, well maintained, and centrally located vacation spot.

We just left this beautiful home and are all sad to leave. We (myself, my husband, our 3 boys 12, 10, and 1, and my parents) loved this home. My mom actually is inquiring about a month-long stay. The home isn't just clean--it is immaculate. The beds/linens were extremely comfortable. The home is well-stocked. Our only regret is we didn't plan enough down time to enjoy the property. We enjoyed the silverton Durango train ride, whitewater rafting, mesa verde national park and the Bar D dinner show while in the area. We are usually on the road by 730 or 8 and we didn't get on the road this morning until 945 so we could enjoy the adorable tractor swing and chickens and goats. Beautiful home and area. We highly recommend this Airbnb!! We hope to return in the future.

I don't think I can put in words how much we loved our stay in Mancos. We looked forward to some peace of the country life after our travels thru Colorado, Utah, and the Canyon of (URL HIDDEN) was more than we expected. After never hearing of Mancos, we all now want to move to Mancos! (Hope it stays a secret a little longer) The goats greeted us along with the gorgeous moon. We treasured the air conditioning, laundry facilities and comfortable beds after our heated travels. The guest house was fully furnished with the comforts of home, adding in fresh eggs in the refrigerator! With the suggestion of eating at the Delores Brewery Company, we were greeted like regulars in the quaint but bustling Brewery! GREAT pizza and beer. As all the grocery stores were closed, we stopped at the family dollar and picked up some breakfast items to make with our eggs and were on our way to find the local hot springs, thinking we could find it on our own. Thank you to the bright yellow taco stop in Rico for helping us find the dirt road! Communication with Sarah and Jeanette was fantastic!

Our family loved staying at Sarah's place. Sarah and Janette are kind and gracious hosts who truly want you to have a great experience during your visit. The kids loved hanging out and sleeping in the alcove, not too mention visiting with the animals. My husband and I enjoyed the comfortable beds, great suggestions in the welcome book, and hanging out in the Adirondack chairs with a local craft beer. There's more to the list, but let's just say we highly recommend staying here!! Many thanks for sharing your lovely home with us!

If you are considering a trip to Mesa Verde, definitely make your base-camp in Mancos, not Durango or Cortez. Sarah's place is 20 minutes from the park entrance, which is a good thing because she is in a really pretty area outside of town. Everything was included which was great (paper products, cleaning products, soap, hair dryer, laundry and dish detergent, etc.) The shower water pressure was excellent and there was plenty of hot water for four of us to take consecutive showers at the end of the day. Our kids LOVED this place. They enjoyed the goats and even asked Sarah for a "farm chore" to do. She gave them the "chore" of filling the goats drinking water, which was so sweet. They took turns sleeping in the "nook" in the family room. They really loved playing outside and discovering the hidden painted and stamped rocks, which I am pretty sure convinced them that fairies lived in the area. : )

I am a writer. My partner is a potter as well as having worked in Indian Health Services Clinics on the reservations of the Four Corners Area. We are very involved in the local farm and fresh food movement. We love the great outdoors of our area and appreciate the diversity of travelers that we meet. We have lived in this area for almost 20 years but originally hail from Montana and North Carolina/New York. We appreciate fresh mountain air, kind people, and good hearts. We hope that you do too.
