Lundin Golf Club
Lundin Golf Club, near to St Andrews the 'Home of Golf', is well known throughout the golfing world as a course of rare quality. Founded in 1868, on a Tom Morris course it was extensively redesigned by five times Open Champion James Braid in 1909.
Fine links fairways and excellent greens have ensured that it has been regularly selected as a final qualifying golf course for the Open Championship. Narrow fairways, bunkers, burns, and ever-changing winds guarantee a testing but rewarding golfing experience.
Lundin Ladies Golf Club
Lundin Ladies Golf Club is known and loved by many as the only ladies golf club in Scotland. It is run solely by the ladies and has close to 300 members. It is a great 9 hole course for beginners but is testing for golfers of all abilities. Over the years many children have begun their golf on this course and we encourage juniors to learn the basic skills of golf and the important etiquette is emphasised.
The club was established in 1891 on a part of the ground now occupied by Lundin Golf Club, but was moved to the Standing Stanes Park in 1910 on the course designed by five times Open Champion, James Braid.
It is a tight parkland course, with the standing stanes taking pride of place in the middle of the 2nd fairway. A burn offers some challenge at the 6th, 7th and 9th holes. The rough at the 3rd / 4th holes makes the golfer think. Standard scratch is 68.
Membership is available to lady golfers and junior girls. Gentlemen and boys may become season ticket holders.
The Crusoe Hotel
The Crusoe Bar is open daily to resident and non-residents, and has a well stocked bar with a varied selection of beers and real ales which combined with friendly staff adds to the charm that awaits you. Meals are served in the Crusoe Bar and adjacent Largo Lounge from 12 noon every day through until 8.45pm ensuring that whenever you're feeling hungry you can relax and enjoy good, home cooked food in an historical setting.
It is really quite impossible to sit in either the lounge or the bar in The Crusoe and not be overtaken by the historic ambience. Its nautical history resonates from the walls and the beamed ceilings and the ever changing views of the harbour make it a favourite place to relax for visitors and locals alike.
The Castaway Restaurant is situated on the first floor of the hotel and is open in the evenings only and offers an extensive a la carte menu with the chef taking advantage of the finest fresh local ingredients from lobster landed daily at the pier to prime Perthshire beef. The menu changes daily so you're sure to be spoiled for choice.
The Castaway is also ideal for private dinners and functions and the staff would be delighted to help you with any information required for your celebration or event.
