Our property depends on solar power. We ask that you turn off the lights when you leave the room. Also we ask that you shut your door and prevent velvet monkeys from entering into your room. Monkeys have lots of wild berries, nuts, and water around. Therefore, we ask our guest not to feed the monkeys. Giraffes, zebra, kudu, gerenuk, gazelles among many other game are around the camp's property. We ask our guest not to venture into the bush alone without a guide. Observing these basic rules will allow you to get the most out of your experience at Simba Camp. We look forward to sharing our world with you.

This was among the most unusual Airbnb experiences we've ever had, in a good way. We needed a place to stay near the famous Amboseli park, and this place stood out among all of the crazy expensive luxury accommodations in the area. There were some hiccups arranging our check-in and pickup at the Amboseli airstrip — cell coverage is barely existing in the camp, so we've had a hard time reaching the host. Make sure to call or email in advance to let them know about your arrival time if you're entering Amboseli by air as we did. In the end we had to wait a few minutes upon our arrival at the airstrip, but were eventually picked up just fine. The host has arranged for game drives for us (these cost extra, as does airport pickup, but the price was reasonable), so most of our first day, right after being picked up from the plane, we've been driving through the park and watching wild animals. The camp itself is a bit farther away from the park, next to an actual Maasai village. We were welcomed upon our arrival with cold drinks, which was nice. We were pleasantly surprised by the full-board meals in the camp, and had our first delicious dinner shortly after our arrival. Throughout our stay the food was always tasty and varied, cooks here do a great job! The room we were staying at was quite basic, but clean and came with a private bathroom. This is no hotel, so don't expect any luxury, but the amenities were adequate and the bed was comfy. A mosquito cover around the bed protects against the bugs during the night, but there weren't many to begin with anyway. There's a pack of wild monkeys hanging out nearby, climbing on the roof and the trees around the house — lots of fun to watch and photograph but don't forget to keep doors and windows closed, they're curious. The camp provides a bunch of interesting entertainment options you can choose from: we've went to an animal watching walk in the early morning, where you get to see the African animals in their habitat real close, then had a tour of the elementary school in the nearby village, a chat with Maasai women and another animal watching walk in the evening (a different route). You also get free tea and coffee with some cookies in the morning and in the evening in the common gathering area. Everyone in the camp is friendly and can readily help you. TL;DR: The Maasai Simba Camp was a pleasant surprise and an unforgettable experience for us. You won't regret staying here.

This was a great cultural experience! We really loved the nature walk and the meeting with the Maasai medicine men. We learned a lot about the Maasai culture and the people there were all great hosts!

We arrived late and tired but were greeted with big smiles and a lovely dinner. We were able to have an early breakfast long before anyone else and were given our lunch to have as a picnic in Amboseli National Park

Very unique and traditional place! We had a great time and can recommend to stay here. A Camp with simple huts, full board and several activities included. We did some early in the morning bush walks and had a great chat with some of the elders of the nearby Maasai village. A great way to give back to the local community!

I was born and raised in Merrueshi village in Amboseli eco-system, not far from the Tanzanian border. Raised as a Maasai warrior and a cow herder with a western education. I love nature and Africa's wildlife. I have a passion to protect wildlife, habitat, and Maasai culture. I look forward to sharing our world with you.
