We showed up very late at night and Dominque was able to coordinate with the reception desk a pickup of the key for us. The location is quite nice, as it is about a 10 minute drive to downtown and about a 10 minute walk to a very lovely beach. Of all the beaches we visited on our trip, it was actually one of our favorite. Very crowded, but so are most of the popular beaches.
The apartment itself though, was a let-down for the price we paid. The air conditioning is only available in the two bedrooms, not the living area. One of the air conditioners in the bedroom we could not get to work. Corsica gets very, very hot, so this was problematic. The apartment floors were also not very clean and had sand on them. The apartment complex is full of screaming children, so if you're a family with kids, this is probably good, however we preferred something more quite. The pool is surrounded with a safety gate for the kids and while this is great for their safety, you can only hang out on the outside of the pool. While the kitchen has been remodeled, the bathrooms are still old and dated.
Only 4 towels were provided, so we contacted Dominque about getting more towels. She was quick to respond and contacted reception; however, the towels never showed up. Providing only four towels for a family on a beach vacation seemed a little ridiculous. I went to reception to inquire and they informed me they would provide me more towels. However, they also told me I needed to pay a 300 Euro deposit for the apartment, since I checked in at night at nobody was there to process this earlier. I did not want to pay the deposit, as all transactions with Airbnb should be processed through the website. The reception did not budge and I contacted Airbnb support to inform them of this. Airbnb support agreed and told me I should not have paid the deposit. Upon returning to the apartment with the towels, they had given me hand towels not bath towels. Frustrated I went back for the bath towels, upon which the reception informed me if I didn't return them there would be a 40 Euro charge per towel. Good to know!
While I did not meet Dominique in person, she seemed nice enough and willing to help, however all other things considered I would not stay here again.
