Rural country house with magnificent views. Peace and quiet out in nature but only 15 minutes drive to town and shops. Great entertainment areas but also quiet spots for solitude and contemplation.
Located on 5 hectares of farmland, 11kms inland between Knysna and Sedgefield, and overlooking the majestic Outeniqua Mountains, we have some of the most beautiful views and sunsets you'll see in South Africa!
The setting is quiet, safe and peaceful, and encourages rest and rejuvenation.
The home is on our 5 hectares of Garden Route property. We have 4 dams and 2 ponds, and a hectare of the property is being cultivated as a garden to attract birds, bees and insects.
8kms away are hiking and MTB trails. Knysna and Wilderness are 25-minute drives away and Sedgefield is 15 minutes away through forestry plantations.
The home is a sturdy log home, traditional to the area, with comfortable and relaxed living and sleeping areas. A large outdoor deck facing north is equipped with a Weber braai, has a dining and seating area, as well as a hammock for lazy summer days! An outdoor entertainment area down a flight of stairs offers a fire-pit and a large table for dining and relaxing under a Wisteria-covered pergola.
The property is on a slope with access via staircases. It is therefore not wheelchair friendly. Dams and 2 ponds close to the house are unfenced and small children therefore need to be closely supervised outside. However, there are gates at each access point off the decks.
Please note that it is a rural property with rustic surrounds.

Access to the gardens including the vegetable garden - pick whatever veggies and fruit you like. Flowers too (except our King Proteas please!)
The larger of the 4 dams is swimmable, and is great for water-loving dogs.

We will gladly help with any information and recommendations on the area, be it restaurants, activities or sightseeing.
We are able to supply a basic cleaning service (price inclusive) every 2nd day. Please let us know to arrange, if necessary.
Hi. This is our home so we expect normal care to be taken when you're here! Smoking outside is fine but not in the house or outbuildings.
We do not have access to municipal water. All our household water is rainwater stored in tanks, and incredibly precious in our water scarce country. Guests need to be sensitive to water-saving practices, please.
We are a pet-loving family but our dogs are not allowed on our furniture. They are also groomed often to prevent doggy odours!
Although we welcome children to our property, ponds and dams are not fenced. However, the large deck area is gated at all stairways leading to the gardens.
We have French drain systems in order to collect sewerage. Please do not dispose of any foreign items in the toilets.
