Our guest house, built over the summer of 2015 is located on a 1 acre fir treed lot in a rural residential area 8 minutes south of Golden -- quiet country setting yet close to town and the many world class adventures that our mountain town has to offer. It is within one hour of 4 National parks, a perfect base for skiing, hiking, rafting, mountain biking, golfing, fishing, and more! Canada's best mountain scenery.
Our 2 bedroom suite is on the upper floor of our two level house. Large equipped kitchen, cozy living area, 2 bedrooms each with ensuite bath. Smart TV, with local Cable & Netflix. Propane fireplace and separate electric heat controls in each room. Mudroom entrance way for drying gear. Separate door opens on to sunny patio, with outdoor grill and seating for 6.
Our rate for two people includes the use of one bedroom and one bathroom. If the two guests decide to use both bedrooms & bathrooms, a cleaning fee of $25 will be charged.

We live on the one acre lot next door to the Fir Tree Guest House. We have lived in Golden over 25 years, are outdoor enthusiasts (Russ is a ski guide) and can help you plan your outdoor adventure in and around Golden. We are avid mountain bikers and hikers/climbers and love to share our local knowledge of the sweet spots!
Our lower 1 bedroom suite (the Birch Suite - see separate listing) is also a vacation rental from May through September. It has a long term renter in winter. The Fir Tree upper unit will be rented as a 6 month lease for Winter 2018, starting Oct. 1/2017 till April 30/2018.
Both suites are self contained and there is separate parking and entrances as well as soundproofing between floors. The Fir Tree is not suitable for children under 5.
Smoking is NOT allowed inside the rental property. Outside only.
Please place cigarette butts in the container provided.
People other than those in the Guest party set forth above may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest.
The unit is privately owned; the owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.
Keep the property and all furnishings in good order.
Only use appliances for their intended uses.
Pets are NOT allowed.
NOISE Quiet time between the hours of 11:00PM and 7:00AM must be observed. Excessive noise and loud music will NOT be tolerated at ANYTIME. Please consider that you are staying in a residential area and be respectful of your neighbors.
Parking: Parking is available for 3-5 vehicles. There is ample turnaround area.
Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring beach towels if you need them. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the units.
Fireplace: The fireplace is a vented propane gas log fired firebox. Please do not throw any paper or other combustible materials in the fireplace. There is a thermostat on the wall to the right of the fireplace which turns the fireplace on and off and adjusts the heat. PLEASE TURN OFF THE FIREPLACE WHEN RETIRING FOR THE NIGHT AND WHEN NOT IN THE RENTAL UNIT.
Water and Septic: The rental unit is on a well and septic system. All the water is potable however, there is a carbon filter (in the basement) which filters the water from the kitchen facet for drinking purposes. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. NO FEMININE HYGIENE PRODUCTS SHOULD BE FLUSHED AT ANYTIME. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be charged damages of up to $250.
Storms: No refunds will be given for storms. Access to our mountain community requires travel over/through mountain passes which can during the winter months be closed due to snow conditions. Road access to the rental property requires travel from the main highway up a steep curvy but well maintained paved road. In the winter we highly recommend all wheel or four wheel drive. We do not refund due to road conditions.
Cancellation policy is set on Strict, 50% refund up till one week prior to booking date. This is negotiable, in certain circumstances.
