Te Atatu Peninsula is a cool neighborhood. It sits in West Auckland, the most friendly, down to earth and artistic part of the city. The peninsula itself is a community bounded by the sea and an on-ramp to the city, which means there is no 'through-traffic' (unlike most of Auckland). The village has a brand new library and community centre plus, eateries, cafes and shops. Coastal boardwalk, great for cycling or walking. It's just 15 minutes drive (off peak) to the city centre and 40 - 45 mins to the West Coast beaches of Piha, Muriwai, Bethels and Karekare. You'll find great bush walks in the Waitakere Ranges which are 'on our doorstep' as little as a 20min drive away.
There are buses to the city or other local centres.
We've put a lot of effort and love into making a beautiful space to live in. You'll find there still a couple of small finishing touches for us to complete, like a sealed driveway! but the interior is 95% there. Its a family home with kids not a show home..
There is a BBQ for your use.
Spa - don't think luxury hot spa, our spa is large and deep, seats 10, circa 1975, has bubbles but is not hot. We turn on the bubbles (which also heat) and take off the lid to let the sun warm it. It is a great temperature for the summer to cool off. Of course you must always supervise any children ... :-)
