Beautiful room in even more beautiful house with large garden in perfect location for bouldering in the forest of Trois Pignons. Only 3 km to the nice town Milly-la-Forêt that offers plenty of small shops for shopping. Food market Thu afternoons.
We would like to let our guest room in our private house to nice guests. :-)
The room is on the ground floor and has its own bathroom with shower and WC, but there is NO sink in the bath room. However, for hands washing and teeth brushing there is a normal tap in the shower and also the kitchen sink is very close.
The living room and the kitchen can be shared with us, feel free to use the kitchen to prepare your meals. It is fully equipped, including a dish washer.
Since we'll be sharing the house for a few days, we emphasize that a personal relation to our guests is particularly important to us. Please add a small description of yourselves to the booking request. You will also learn more about us.
The (bed)room is equipped with a commode, an armchair, heating, and a double bed (1,60x2,00m). There is also space to host a child in the room.
The house has a huge garden (1800 m2) and is a paradise for children to play.
The house is in the direct vicinity to the famous climbing spots in the Forêt des Trois Pignons, but also to all the other Fontainebleau spots. It is close to the famous camping "La Musardière". We are climbers ourselves and we would like very much to meet other climbers. The climbing spots can be reached by foot, or better by bicycle. There are 4 bikes with the house that can be used.
We live about 20 km from the train station Fontainebleau-Avon. Public transport is very limited in the area. There is a rare bus service to Fontainebleau (early morning there, afternoon back). So the best is to bring a car. However, we are very happy to pick you up from the train station and also bring you back there after your stay (please arrange with us in advance). Things like shopping, going climbing, even visiting Fontainebleau, can be done by bike.
There is a large collection of older and newer climbing and hiking guide books in the room that you can use (please take care of them). We also have 1-2 crashpads that you could borrow for a small fee. Please ask.
In the room is also a folder full of information about the area, castles, art, restaurants, Milly-la-Foret, whatever we were able to collect.
Together with my wife Reka I live partly in Karlsruhe, Germany, and partly in Noisy-sur-Ecole, France. I am a materials scientist. I love the outdoors, especially climbing -- it is fantastic to live so close to the boulders of Fontainebleau.
