Honored to receive Airbnb's Superhost Award almost monthly since January, 2015...what an accolade! We've been doing this for four years now & love it!
We're happy to share our comfortable 3 story home with you only 3 blocks from the beach and boardwalk in the BEST part of AC- Gardners Basin. We offer you a B&B experience nestled in a great little pocket! We're a single family solar home with lots of sunshine featuring a wraparound porch with wicker furniture. We have two tennis courts directly across the street, a full track and little league baseball field. The well respected Fisherman's Park is across the street which serves as home to a memorial of the fishermen and watermen lost to the sea over the years. It's a beautiful green park, sitting directly on the waterway full of clamboats offering a dozen picnic tables and charcoal grills.
Our 2nd floor hardwood guest rooms each feature a queen size bed, individual air conditioning controls and a bathroom with shower and tub which is shared. Airbnb guests share the full bathroom which is situated between the 2 guest rooms. The owners bedroom and bath are on the 3rd floor. Linen, towels, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer are all included as well as tennis rackets located in the front bedroom closet. Wifi is available and the TV is provided in our living room.
Our spacious front porch overlooks a large yard with birds and squirrels across the street from public tennis courts. Views from our back deck are the entire AC skyline and the bedroom views are the Borgata, Harrah's and Golden Nugget.
We describe our home as comfortable, coastal living without the cost of being on the beach! We're 3 blocks from the famous boardwalk, beach and lovely historic Gardeners Basin Waterfont.
Our living room is shared with our guests featuring a large flatscreen TV and internet. Our Tuscany themed kitchen has an open floorplan. Coffee/tea and a continental breakfast of baked goods, fresh fruit and yogurt is offered; however, cooking is not permitted nor full use of the kitchen preparing foods. You are more than welcome to use the fridge for wine, craft beers, etc.
I think you'll agree we offer more than other hotel rooms and venues in town. Our place is truly in a unique spot in AC much different than other offerings....the homemade baked goods, the personalized welcome and the warm goodbye offerings...much like a real B&B without the cost.
Our little niche of AC features the historic waterfront area of Gardners Basin within walking distance with the AC Aquarium, restaurants, bars, breakfast places, fishing and dolphin watching excursions. The historic Absecon Lighthouse is just a few blocks away as well as the beach and boardwalk within 3 blocks.
We are 10 minutes from the train station and 20 minutes from the AC Airport. Transportation can be arranged for a nominal charge. We're very well versed with area attractions as well as area tourist traps. We are avid sailors with our 36' sailboat docked seasonally within walking distance as well as our 18' sailboat which we enjoy and are hoping to teach our grand kids how to sail! Most days we're at work or at the sailboat and hardly home!
We're unique as we offer a homey, comfortable place to rest close to the action Atlantic City has to offer. Many of our Airbnb guests are return customers calling us their home away from home. Summers are awesome in our area but the fall, winter and spring months offer a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Our resident indoor cats, Tomas (aka Tom Cat) and Aunt Dennis (it's a long story!) are included as amenities. We are not crazy cat people but do love our guys.....never permitted in our guest rooms though.
Although this is a difficult time for AC financially, This past summer our mayor offered great things happening in AC such as a food and wine fesitval, beach concerts and almost nightly boardwalk concerts. The AC Airshow was also a free beach event attracting people and the fabulous Miss America Pagaent with The Miss America Parade which is a huge local event showcasing every contestant in which we all shout "show me your shoes" which are decorated to the nines.
One of us is retired (the lucky Paul) and the other is still working so we provide a nice blend as hosts. We also have an ice cream & dessert cafe with tea room in AC. We have 5 grown children and 7 grandchildren in the area which do visit with us from time to time. We're very civic minded and involved in making AC a great destination as well as great place to live.
What's better than being in AC yet tucked away? Give us a try.
You have access to whatever you need...ice, refrigerator, iron, blow dryer, beach chair, front porch, books, television .....just enjoy yourself!
Our back deck has a beautiful table and chairs and the front porch has wicker chairs which is a perfect place to hang out with a beer or three after a glorious beach day. This is AC...we're 24 hours! Just be mindful of other guests and your hosts when returning in the wee hours.
We welcome you and leave interaction up to you as much or as little as you like. Most guests read the Local Intel we leave in their room then have questions and we share additional info.
Seasonally, we enjoy having coffee on our porch in the morning and many times guests join us. We prefer coffee and breakfast remains in our kitchen or porches and not in our guestrooms. Remember the house is your house when you visit!
When we began this business, we weren't sure what to expect so we went to Phildadelphia and stayed as an Airbnb guest ourselves to experience what it would be like. Luckily, we stayed at Rob's place in Phila and learned from him to be a good host is to be friendly yet unobtrusive and to let our guests determine how much interaction is wanted.
We're always available to chat and to share stories or answer questions about the area but don't feel like you need to talk. Treat our home like your private retreat and interact as much or as little as you want. Use the room as only place to lay your head a night, or use it as your home at the shore with old friends. It's silly that we really need to say gay and lesbian friendly?
We are insanely crazy about the revitalization of the new Atlantic City. We have a vested interest as a team member of the most successful AC casino plus real estate owners. We are vibrant and enthusiastic about our renaissance. GLBT friendly.
Jitney (small green bus) is the way to go! It picks you up at the corner across the street (see bus stop sign) and brings you along the boardwalk & every casino all for $2.25 pp each way. Very safe as drivers are owners.
Taxis or Uber are also available but more costly. Daytime is fine to walk but night time is for jitneys, taxis or Uber.
We're as close as you can get to a B&B feel in AC without the prices of a B&B. We love the beach...but anything you bring to the beach please either leave in your car or on the porch. Please don't bring it into the house. Hose off your feet on the front porch, or around back.

Your bedroom is on the 2nd floor along with a bathroom next door. You are more than welcome to use our kitchen for the continental breakfast we provide, unless Paul is preparing you a full breakfast treat!
Feel free to relax in our living room with a glass of wine, kick back on our breezy front porch in a wicker chair with a craft beer, or share a cold glass of tea on our back deck after a long day at the beach.

Porch curfew is 11 pm but that doesn't mean you need to be home at 11! AC is an all night town so we don't have any issues with you staying out as long as you want! You're on vacation...enjoy yourself!
Street parking is available in front of our home (please don't park in front of our next door neighbor...we love them and want them to love us!) Respect our home as you'd respect your own. No smoking, no drugs and no sand permitted. No unregistered guests.

Paul's retired (sort of) and Colleen still is working in the Atlantic City casino industry. We also are proprietors of AC Sweets N' Treats which is an ice cream & dessert café in Gardner's Basin with a tea room called Tea on Two on the 2nd floor above the shop.
We love to travel together on our sailboat during the winter months as well as the enjoyment of entertaining people from all over the world who've been guests in our home. We are casual people that enjoy good conversation, good food and nice people from all walks of life.
Paul sometimes cooks scrumptious breakfasts of blueberry pancakes or rum drenched French toast if you can catch him before a sail, or before heading to our shop. Family is our priority spending lots of time with our grown kids and grand kids. Our front porch will offer you much time for relaxation and comfort.k
