House rules and guidelines for Airbnb Guests :)
Unfortunately, we do not allow visitors in our home. If you do have an extra guest staying the night with you, please send us an Airbnb message with a minimum 24 hours advance notice. Please do not provide the front door code to friends/family without approval. We are reasonable folk and will accommodate wherever possible. Extra fees per guest ($10/night) have to be paid in advance.
Our house is a non smoking home, although, you can smoke in the backyard or front yard. Please, no cigarettes on the floor, no cigarettes inside the house; use outside trash cans.
Airbnb guests can use the kitchen with cooking allowed, eat on the dining table and enjoy the couch area. Guests are not allowed in the roommates private bedrooms, neither in the garage.
Whilst we do a thorough and professional clean between each guest stay, we kindly ask that prior to leaving, you clean and put away any dishes or kitchenware used and put any dirty towels on the bed. It helps us get through our cleaning process more quickly and allows us to keep cleaning costs down for you and future guests. Please, after your stay, make sure the kitchen and areas you used are wiped down and any dishes used are cleaned and put away or placed in the dishwasher after being soaked, if needed.
For your comfort, one small bin is located in your bedroom, two trash cans are located in the kitchen (one blue can for recycle, one black for trash) and one in the bathroom. On the side of the backyard, three large trash cans are located, if needed.
Due to previous problems (and we’re sure this doesn’t relate to you…) we’ve needed to implement a minimum age requirement of 21+. Guests under the age of 21 are still entirely welcome – they will just need to be accompanied by parents or guardians.
The easiest way to disrupt an enjoyable stay is a plumbing problem. To prevent this, we kindly ask you to please place things like wet-wipes, cotton-balls, sanitary napkins, etc. in the sanitary bin next to the toilet. We simply want to ensure you have a royal flush kind of holiday :)
In order to respect our quiet neighborhood and the roommates living in the house, we do not allow parties in the house.
Check in & Check out
Check-in is ideally at 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and check-out is by 11:00 am. Arriving slightly earlier or a little bit later should be fine, but please check with us first and confirm your arrival time.
We understand that accidents happen. But we do ask that you please let us know when they do. Inform us via Airbnb private message of what happened as soon as possible.
What you do in your personal time is entirely up to you, but when staying at our place we have a strict no-drug-use policy. This is just the law… not so much one of our rules. Medical Marijuana is not allowed either in the house.
Electricity: Lights / Heating
To keep our costs down (and pass those savings on to our guests) we kindly ask that you switch off lights and the heating when it is not in use, or when leaving the house. Mother nature thanks you too.
To be considerate to the other roommates, we kindly ask to keep things on the quieter-side after 10:00 pm. And if you want to listen to music, please remember the other roommates and enjoy via headphones or in your personal space. We’ll make sure to reciprocate the favor. Be aware that the house walls are very thin. What you are listening to, we may also listen to.
We ask that you kindly respect our maximum occupancy requirement (4 person maximum, if approved).
Unfortunately, as we already have a dog in the house, we do have a no-pet policy. Please, while going in and out of the house, make sure the front door is closed and do not let the dog out. We’d like to avoid singing Baha Men “Who let the dogs out” :)
To ensure full safety of our guest’s belongings, we like to keep the front gate locked as a precautionary measure at any time. Whilst being one of the safest neighborhoods in town, we want to ensure every guest remain problem free, and this is just one small and simple thing we’re able to do to ensure that. While leaving the house, please make sure all windows and back side doors are closed, and if possible, curtains closed.
Internet & WiFi
During your stay, you can connect your computer, smartphones and electronics to our wifi with the provided password. Internet should not be used for illegal uploading, downloading or any other illegal activities.
Please use dining area to prepare, cook and eat any food. Food is not allowed in the bedroom to avoid any spit on the sheets, carpet and wooden floor.
Moreover, food and drinks are not complementary to the rental. You can find some space in the fridge area, on the top right shelf for your own comfort, if needed.
Front door / Electronic lock
It can happen that the entrance door lock does not operate properly. Make sure you enter the correct code following by the “unlock” button and wait until the unlock process is completed (wait until the sound of the lock completely stops before opening the handle). If the process does not cooperate, please pull the door towards you, press the lock button and restart process. Be patient, the lock likes to tease.
