Don't want to spill the dirty laundry out here, but in short, we had an unpleasant experience with Shirin. Shirin & her family checked out very happy, leaving positive messages on our wall, and texts, which are all documented. We went out of our way to accommodate their 18 guests which included 9 kids. They even brought 6 extra kids on the property, although we were notified in advance. Although Rules were very clearly stated on the website, they tried to go outside the Rules multiple times after checking in, which we gladly accommodated at no charge to the best of our ability, as we wanted to provide the best and enjoyable experience to our guests. After 2 days of their checkout, when I contacted Shirin , requesting to write a good review for us, as we are new to Airbnb, then they started coming out with frivolous / false claims and demanding money back. She was trying to negotiate from day 1, first blaming the Airbnb system, then asking for discounts. Shirin tried to cash-in the fact that we are new hosts to Airbnb and that we are in need of good reviews. This is very sad state of affairs and because of these tactics by some old experience Airbnb members, it discourages new entrants to continue enjoying hosting, when they come across these kind of frivolous claims. Just to clarify to her 3 frivolous points mentioned above - 1. Yes, we stayed in the house the 1st evening, as they had left 15 kids in the house, with all parents gone outside and they had requested a movie to be run in the theater. We were uncomfortable leaving the house with their 15 young kids at the house, The next day, we left the house early in the morning and came back after midnight to ensure that they have a comfortable checkout. This was very well communicated to them in advance. 2. Yes, we did put up the signs, as their guests included 14 young kids ranging from 6 years to 14 years, staying in the property without the parents on the 1st evening. You can just imagine what 14 kids are capable of doing in absence of parents, that's probably why they think that walls are thin and noise travels ? 3. The bedroom sets along with mattresses in the room they claim about bug bites are brand new, which were bought last month in June 2017 from Jerome's Furniture. Now if they saw crickets, we do apologize, but we haven't noticed crickets till date. Again, us being new to Airbnb hosting, we try our best to make our guests stay enjoyable and comfortable, and we do apologize for any inconvenience caused, as long as it is genuine and not frivolous, just for making an excuse to claim money back.
