Overall we had a nice stay here. The location is great for exploring the lake with a cafe and a market within 2 minutes walk. The cabin and furniture are a little tired looking inside but adequate. The heating takes a while to get going (I arrived at 1am and it had only gone up 2 degrees to 57 degrees by 9am the next day). Once it does get going it's very cozy but I would suggest a higher base temperature than 55 degrees when it's below freezing outside. The 'rules' make a point of asking about breakages or items not working so they could be fixed prior to the next guests arrival, however there were various lamps (all bedside lamps in both upper and lower queen rooms) and lights (main light in downstairs bunk room) not working throughout the house when we arrived. All in all, our stay was fine but I'm not sure we'd return.

The Van Den Toorn's house was a great place to stay during our time in the North Lake Tahoe region! We were in town for a Spartan race and the house was close to squaw Valley which I'm sure is great during the winter season as well. Everything went well, commutation was seamless and we were provided with everything we needed to know about the house as well as the surrounding area. I would definitely recommend staying here during any time of the year and would look forward to visiting again on a trip back to lake Tahoe!

Cathrin's house on Lake Tahoe is beautiful! Fits so many people and has everything you need. It's quirky and cozy and has the most beautiful private beach access filled with docks, grills, and picnic tables to sit at! I love the west side of the lake because it's quiet and near some of our favorite shops right up the road, but very residential. It was so nice to have a stove and dishwasher to make meals for our family and hang out by the fire with goofy old VHS documentaries. The only small note is that it was a pretty cold weekend for September and we didn't know how to heat the house (other than the gas fireplace) but she has a ton of little electric radiators in the closets to use in the rooms and upstairs. All-in-all, a great experience! Would absolutely go back! Thanks!

We definitely want to stay at this beautiful home again sometime! It's convenient to both the lake for summer fun and the slopes for winter fun. The kitchen was well equipped and bedrooms were charming. Great experience!

Great place for a couple families to share. limited living room and dining area, so extremely cozy, but that made it even better for us. walking distance to small grocery, beach and rental activities was awesome. we pulled in and didn't get back in the car for 2 days. Beach access is great, but crowded...claim a spot early in the morning by depositing blankets/chairs early. or reserve a table in advance if you can.

Get prepared to the bad traffic during 16:00-17:00 from the house to Tahoe City. Leave early if you have lake cruise to catch.

Bob and Roxie manage our Home in Tahoe Park. Here is their info.

I own my real estate company with my wife, Roxie. We love to ski, ride our cruiser mountain bikes (mine's a vintage stump Jumper), and road trip/camp in our Sncro VW Vanagon. One of our best road trips was from Tahoe to the Vancouver Olympics in 2010. I am an Olympian (my teammate Bonnie Blaire corrected me "never former, never past.."). My pal Tomba took the gold that year in Calgary.

Cathrin's family cabin is so cool - it's a good dose of true Tahoe. You will love it.
