À propos de ce logement

This quiet modern town home is 1/2 mile walk from quaint Greenwood and three blocks from the express bus downtown.

The private room is on the first level with sliding doors that open onto the small yard. There is a small dresser in addition to the futon bed (with added comfort mattress topper).

Maximum guest stay is one week, unless you're interested in staying long-term over the summer for something like an internship or traveling nurse gig.

Description

Le logement

I love my house both because of the location and its comfortable vibe! I ride my bike to the university (4 miles away), drive 6 minutes to Green Lake (a great 3 mile loop around the lake), walk or run around the neighborhood, or walk 1/2 mile into Greenwood or Phinney (3/4 mile) where there are bars, breweries (three!), restaurants, and shops.

Inside, I like to cuddle up next to the fire and read a book, cook a delicious meal for friends, or watch TV upstairs. And, let's be real, do a bunch of work in my office. It's quiet and cozy!

Accès des voyageurs

You have access to your room and the common areas. The common areas/bathrooms are shared with me and my roommate--a 1/2 bath on the main level and the bath/shower on the third floor. The house is in the middle of the block, off of the main streets, and there's an alleyway with parking (nearly always).

Le quartier

Humming with coffee shops, bars, eateries, and fun shops, Greenwood has everything Seattleites love, without the intense crowds of Capitol Hill and Fremont. It's a fantastic neighborhood to explore in its own right, while being close to freeways and transit options that will take you easily into the heart of downtown.

In exploring North Seattle, head over to Green Lake and join the throngs of walkers on the 3-mile loop.

If traveling with kids, be sure to stop by Dave Egger's Space Travel Supply Store, just a short walk away from the house.

Transports

The E (express bus downtown) is 2.5 blocks away, and the 45 is an 8-minute walk down on 85th (to Greenlake, Ravenna, UW).

Autres remarques

I have a pup! He's 1.5 years old, 70 lbs, and full of love. He'll likely ask for some pets and give some kisses. I'd consider hosting a friendly dog.

Règlement intérieur

I expect guests to treat my house like it's their home--I live here, so the books on the shelf are the ones I read, the dishes are the ones I use, etc.

You are more than welcome to use any of the kitchen staples to cook or bake.

The table is old and sensitive to liquids--please use the table cloth or placemats.

No smoking (anything) indoors, and please avoid red wine and other staining substances outside of the kitchen/dining area.

Jess (along with her pup, Norvel) were excellent hosts! Even her roommate (and pup, Xena) were welcoming and provided suggestions for places to visit. The room met my basic needs and I had access to the kitchen, bathroom, and living room, as needed. Jess did a great job communicating with me before check in and helped me navigate the city to find her home and a local grocery store!

This is what we think of the place: It is a lovely place. Big Kitchen. Nice Fireplace. Clean Bathrooms. Close to the main avenue. Very quiet. Nice Hosts and Cute Dogs.

This room and house are clean and lovely and the two ladies who live here are incredibly accommodating and friendly, as are their dogs. The house is in a nearly suburban setting, a bit away from the main downtown area of Seattle. There's bus stops and food within a few minutes' walk. The weather was beautiful while I was there and I went out late with some friends. Jessica was very accommodating to my unplanned adventures.

It was inexpensive, which was a good thing. Bathroom was on different floor from room. Recommended for dog lovers only, as both residents had dogs who had total access to common areas. Their barking was not excessive, but noticeable, as were all sounds from the main floor. Owner was very pleasant and attentive.

Jessica was a great hostess! The room was quiet and close to the bathroom. Her dog Norvel is such a sweetheart! Parking can be a little difficult, but not horrible. It's about a 15-20 minute drive to downtown and a 30 minute drive to SeaTac. Overall, it was perfect!

I'm a professor at UW. When I'm not reading, writing, or teaching, I'm generally exploring the amazing outdoors with my pup, Norvel! Seattle is an amazing city--filled with great food, drinks, and views. I'll leave a bunch of my Seattle guide books (including the stairway walks!), as well as a list of my favorite places to eat and explore.
