Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. The house is clean, and a unique design that you will enjoy. It is dog friendly, has nice views, and great wooden patio furniture. Worth noting that it is closer to Manantiales than La Barra and about a 15-20 minute drive (depending on traffic) to either Punta del Este or Jose Ignacio, not bad at all. View of the ocean in the distance is nice. You do need a car to get to the beaches, restaurants, and shopping, but they're not that far. Our biggest complaint was in the pre-arrival communications regarding costs and charges. We had negotiated a $1000 3-night stay for Carnaval week. Anne then sent us an invite for us to book, we accepted and paid it. It totaled $(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) with service airbnb fees). No problem, we paid it and were excited for our trip. After everything was paid, Anne wrote us via (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) saying that we still owed $100, plus a separate security deposit, plus costs for electricity use, that we could pay in cash when we arrived. We thought this was unfair and not what we had agreed to. This should've all been included in the invite to book via the airbnb system. In the end, we didn't pay the cash security deposit, but we paid $100 extra in cash (to cover her service airbnb fees as a renter), plus around $30 dollars in electricity. It was a nice stay, but this hiccup created a lot of stress and anxiety prior to our arrival.
