Single bedroom in the historic St. Roch neighborhood. Tucked away from the street, this decoratively furnished bedroom with vintage furniture can comfortably sleep up to 4. Only a one mile walk to the French Quarter. Close by are great late night bars, restaurants and local gems. Jasmine flowers greet you at the door. Stunning bathroom with big clawfoot tub!
More details about the home below!
Located in the St. Roch/New Marigny Historic district, stay in our charming old building that was once a neighborhood hardware store. It isn’t open to the public currently, but the inside is now a treasure trove of antiques. You’ll be residing in the shopkeeper’s unit, which is tucked away from the street, hidden behind a beautiful wooden gate door under seasonally blooming fragrant Jasmine blossoms.
Enter via a little brick lined pathway with small outdoor seating area into your secret hide-away vacation home. Gorgeous hardwood floors throughout the house and ceiling fans in every room.
Currently there is one bedroom available. It has a full size bed, full size comfortable futon and vintage armoire and bureau. The window in this room is also a functional double french door so you can open it up and enjoy the breeze. During the day you might hear the sounds of tropical birds and cockatoos. The room can sleep up to 4 if you don’t mind sharing beds.
The kitchen has an old fashioned farmhouse sink, large refrigerator (though a bit old, it works just fine!), microwave, toaster, coffee maker and tea pot. There is plenty of room and supplies to cook or enjoy some Cajun-style take-out. We provide tea and local New Orleans coffee.
The bathroom is our favorite part of the house! Pale blue tiles line the floor and walls of this large bathroom, with ceiling fan and high ceilings. There is a beautiful claw foot tub if you find time to enjoy a bath! Cute little wall lamps that go all around the bathroom can be dimmed as well. We provide plenty of soaps, shampoos, conditioners, towels, wash cloths, hair dryer and curling iron. There is also an iron and ironing board.
We own a handmade accessory brand and our studio is in the back of the building (completely separate from your area). If you’d like, we would be happy to give you a tour of our studio and show you some of our work! We are a small operation and by staying in our Airbnb you help us to keep creating our art :)
Please note that the entrance, kitchen and bathroom are minimally shared with us and our couple employees while we work. Usually we get there no earlier than 11 am and stay no later than midnight, but that can change on occasion. The bedroom is fully private and you will mostly have the whole place to yourselves. No one else will be staying or living in the home besides you.
There is an air conditioning unit in the kitchen. It works fairly well to cool off the entire house, but if you are coming in the middle of super hot summer please don’t expect to be able to make the place feel like an igloo. Winters are very mild here, but we do provide heaters as well.
Accès des voyageurs
Guests have access to gated pathway with small seating area, kitchen, bathroom, and the Master bedroom. There is a second bedroom but it is currently storage. No one else lives in the home but the kitchen and bathroom are shared during the day/late evenings with our art studio. Guests will often have the place to themselves.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
Generally interaction with guests is up to the guests! If they would like we will invite them to step into our leather studio and see some of our work, but if they prefer their privacy that is fine as well. We may cook a meal or bake some scones in the shared kitchen occasionally but you'll pretty much have the apartment to yourself. We're happy to help if you need anything, recommendations, suggestions on where to go, etc!
This home was built in 1850, and with that comes beautiful historic details, but also some little quirks. You’ll find some little notes around the house if anything is tricky.
The a/c works best if you don’t mind leaving your bedroom door open sometimes. On very very hot days it will always still be a little warm in the house, but there are a lot of fans available as well.
The clawfoot tub does not have any handles/grips on the wall, and might not be good for people that have trouble stepping high up to get in.
The bricks in the pathway can loosen sometimes during heavy rains. Please let us know if they need fixing!
There are 2 steps to enter the house.
Smoking is not allowed in the house, but is allowed in the little outdoor seating area.
Please be aware that if you have 4 guests + a lot of luggage the bedroom can get a bit tight, but certainly works well if you are mostly just here to spend the night.
If you need more than 1 set of keys please let us know in advance.

We are the owners of a local handmade leather accessory brand (and non-leather accessories too!). If you'd like we are happy to offer you a tour of our studio so you can check out our work. Running this airbnb helps support our artwork, thank you!
Originally both of us are from the East coast - and have lived and traveled throughout the US before finally settling (at least for now) in this amazing city.
Here is a short list of some things we like:
