This two-bedroom flat is well located in the upmarket West London neighbourhood of Fulham, by the green open space of Bishop’s Park.

Le logement

This is an incredibly airy apartment, filled with light and boasting a modern, open-plan design. The first level has a guest bedroom with access to a lovely sun-trap terrace; the room itself is minimal yet well finished with a double sofa bed and can be used as a sitting space or bedroom.

Across and up a few steps is the spacious open-plan designed kitchen and living room with wooden floors and three windows simply flooding the room with light! The modern kitchen is fitted with handle-less white cabinetry and solid wood surfaces, and is equipped with all the necessary facilities for use which include a dishwasher and washing machine. The comfy sitting area has a modern electric fireplace and a large sofa as well as a flat-screen TV.

The master bedroom is minimal yet elegantly designed with a large double walnut bed and matching dresser. Located adjacent is the modern bathroom which is fitted with a walk-in shower enclosure.

Horrific. Very unhappy with this stay. Has probably turned me off AirBnB all together. Main problems: 1. There is no 'Tom'. A complete fabrication. It is managed by a company called Veeve, who treat you like just another paying customer. They are very inflexible. Don't expect any personal treatment. 2. We had to hire a hotel on the first day because they would not let us into the apartment. This is after a 24+ hr flight with small children from the other side of the world. It took hours and multiple phone calls with different people to coordinate getting into the apartment. Even when the 'greeter' arrived in the afternoon, she was half an hour late. Veeve are hard to work with, no flexibility, only available during business hours. They do not provide the AirBnB experience at all. 3. We got robbed of $15k of possessions, including engagement rings, laptop, SLR camera and kids iPods. The front door to the building doesn't close automatically and other tenants in the building leave it open. Veeve insinuated that it was my family leaving it open. They promised to cover our loss through insurance, then they back-pedalled and said they wouldn't cover anything. When the robbery happened, and there were broken doors and wood splinters everywhere and police in our building for 5 hours, my wife and kids no longer felt safe, Veeve said they would move us to another apartment. The only apartment they would provide was a lot further away from where we were staying. Veeve didn't really help much with this. They promised to get back to us, but were very tardy with email communication. In the end, Veeve had an opportunity to get a glowing reference from me, but no one at Veeve took the opportunity to help us with this, they were only interested in managing their relationship with the owner of the apartment. Its obvious what they care about and how the dynamic works here. Its not a very 'AirBnB' experience. Very disappointed with Veeve, will never do business with them again.

Thank you for your feedback Michael. I sincerely apologise for the issues you experienced during your stay. Needless to say, I will be passing on your review to my team in order to minimise the risk of this happening again. However, I can assure you that I do indeed exist! As is clearly stated on my profile, I work for a company which manages this property (and over 1,000 more - many are on Airbnb) on behalf of the owners. At no point did I 'lie' or 'pretend' to suggest otherwise. Furthermore, management agencies are forbidden by Airbnb to advertise their name until a reservation is made, in order to avoid bookings being made outside of Airbnb. Personally, I deal with the initial contacting of guests and processing of reservations, while our hospitality team are the point of contact thereafter. As you can imagine it would be quite an undertaking to personally deal with all aspects of the reservation (of which we have a hundred or so in progress at any one time!). We are very sorry that you fell victim to a robbery during your stay. This is a very rare occurrence and one which we take very seriously. While we managed to find you another property in the Fulham area (in Imperial Wharf), which you rejected, unfortunately we didn't have any other properties available in the immediate vicinity at that time. In saying that, there was nothing to stop you from contacting Airbnb in order to find an alternative property through them rather than ourselves.
