À propos de ce logement
Come enjoy the beautiful Texas Hill Country in our spacious country home, built in 1934 and set on 2/3 acre. It's minutes from downtown Johnson City and Hill Country wineries! The perfect place for groups or the whole family!
Our spacious country home can easily accommodate a variety of Air BnB guests; from couples or groups traveling to the Hill Country to take advantage of the multitude of outdoor excursions, going on one of Texas Winery Tours or meandering the Beer Trail, to families who want to come out to the country for a peaceful vacation!
All of the beds in the house are new memory foam, and the master bathroom is more like a miniature spa than a bathroom. The living room is complete with a gas fueled fire place to cozy up with. The kitchen and dining areas are perfect for gathering and a large feast.
Come out to the Hill Country, stay at Amustus House, and see what you've been missing!

We will be happy to point you in the right direction for food, fun, or drinks during your stay or simply let you relax in the comfort of house with one of the many board games provided.
The neighborhood is an old one and built up eclectically. Just don't want you to expect something that looks like a modern subdivision. It is extremely safe. It is conveniently near highway 281. This can mean you'll hear traffic while you're barbecuing in the big back yard (little plug there for the barbecue). Inside the house is quiet.
The house is just off the ranch road to Pedernales State Park and minutes from Texas Hills Vineyards in the peaceful town of Johnson City. There are a lot of great antiques and food to find in town, which is minutes away.
You won't be far from Fredricksburg, Dripping Springs, Blanco, Hye or Marble Falls if you are looking for a headquarters for daytripping!
While the center of town is very nearby, you'll probably be more comfortable driving and parking downtown than crossing the highway on foot.
Out here, it's best to have your own wheels to get around, but there is much to enjoy all very nearby.
The nearest winery is 1.2 miles away.
For bicyclists, there's no need to cross a highway to bike RR 2766 that leads to Pedernales Falls State Park. It has a paved shoulder and is a great road for biking!
When booking the number of people, please include any children over two years of age.
"The Golden Rule" of leaving the house how you found it is a good rule of thumb for staying at Amustus House. Also, we are in a neighborhood, so please be respectful to our Johnson City friends. Please limit smoking to the back porch.

Since retiring from teaching math at Austin's community college, I've moved out to the ranch that my grandparents purchased in 1950. I'm loving doing hospitality! In order to do lots more hosting, we've purchased 40 acres next to the family ranch where my husband, who is a carpenter/musician/archaeologist, and I have built a little event venue. Next on list is to construct a few secluded cabins out there. We're having a great time helping people enjoy the Hill Country, building, working out doors, and enjoying this rough and beautiful area.
