My remodeled home is situated on quiet street at the highest point of the city - lovely view of the Coastal Range and valley. The 3,000 sq ft house is on double lot with large living room/dining room, open kitchen/family room. Very close to downtown.

This is a very old (100 years) home that had been updated and then completely remodeled about 4 years ago. Everything is bright and shiny, hardwood floors, gas fireplace, large open rooms with lots of light. Warm furnishings and resident Siamese (less than 2 years old) who runs the house.
Have two different bedrooms (two different nightly rates) - one with bed and the other with comfortable hide-a-bed.

Guests can of course use the downstairs bedroom and adjacent bath, kitchen (with some guidelines), laundry, decks, TV and living room areas.

I will be more than happy to help with directions, ideas, and information. I've lived in Portland for almost 30 years so have some knowledge of the city and surrounding area!

Home is at the top of the city with immediate access to two parks, one of which has a 360-degree view of the city. It's at 1,000 feet (and 5 degrees colder than the lowlands) so can be snowy or icy in the winter. Neighborhood is very quiet with lots of parking available. Great sleeping situation!

We're on the 51 bus route and only 7 minutes from downtown. Relatively close to the Kings Hill MAX station. Very close to the Zoo, and the NW Portland area where there is abundant eating and shopping.

There are quite a few steps to climb to get to the house (no elevator!). Will need to be in fairly good shape to climb with suitcases! It's 5 degrees colder here (at 1,000 feet) and can get snowy and icy during the winter.
The pull-out bed is very comfortable.

Would prefer guests that are mostly sane, keep their/my space tidy, like or tolerate cats (especially the rascal boy who gets into everything), and are friendly/conversant/curious.

Serious and fun (or maybe seriously fun) marketing professional. Well traveled (to 10+ international locations). Have great network of friends, and have raised a smart, talented and beautiful daughter who's now in grad school. Love all athletics (no interest in bungee jumping or extreme sports) especially golf and tennis. Love reading (literature, not romance novels), and used to love camping. Will try just about anything once. Enjoy most everyone, especially those who have traveled and with a great sense of humor and adventure (and curiosity). A bit of a foodie, enjoy great films, theatre, and a great single malt Scotch or sipping tequila (it feels like I'm writing an online dating resume). My travel style is fairly casual - not an uptight or nervous person, and don't need a daily agenda. Love an adventure. Life mottos: "The answer's always no unless you ask." "Change is inevitable; growth is optional."
