À propos de ce logement
This art deco apartment has spectacular views of Henley beach, immediately in front of it. The large living/eating/kitchen area looks directly at the sea. A total renovation in recent years provided a new kitchen and bathroom, and tasteful decor.

The apartment consists of a large living/eating/kitchen area, with uninterrupted views of the sea and beach. This living area leads on to a balcony from where you have views from Henley jetty to Grange jetty. This is the perfect spot for a meal or a glass of wine while you watch the sun set over the sea right in front of you. A large bedroom is behind the living area. A new and good sized bathroom, with separate bath and shower, is next to the bedroom. A small sunny sitting room is at the rear of the building, which receives the morning sun. A large entrance area completes the apartment. There is a courtyard at the rear of the building with the laundry leading off it.
Accès des voyageurs
You will have sole access to the apartment and the courtyard. There are 4 apartments in the building, 2 upstairs, including this one, and two downstairs. There is a common pathway leading from the street to the stairs at the rear of the building. These stairs serve both of the upstairs apartments.

I do not live in Adelaide but will be available by phone for any queries or assistance. There is information in the apartment about cafes, restaurants, transport, facilities in the apartment, and attractions in the area and in Adelaide more generally.
Henley Beach square is a lively centre for cafes, restaurants and bars, and is only a short one and a half blocks from the apartment. Close enough to walk to in a few minutes, and far enough away to be quiet and undisturbed by visitors to the square. It would be hard to find a better location if you are looking to stay at the beach in Adelaide.
Cafe 303, Swedish Tarts and Cibo are my favourite breakfast and lunch spots, while Cocolat and Cibo also do excellent icecream and gelati. There is Bacchus wine bar for a glass of wine or artisan beer, then my old favourite, Estia, for dinner, where you will find authentic Greek food, served with warm hospitality and at very reasonable prices. Thai Orchid is also good and there are plenty of other choices in the area. A gourmet supermarket is about 200 metres away near Henley Square.
There is a bus stop about 50 metres from the back gate with frequent services to the city.
Due to the stairs by which you reach the apartment, it is not suitable for those with impaired mobility. Please be aware that there is no air conditioning in the apartment. Two pedestal fans are provided, but there is usually a seabreeze here and the temperature is often 4 degrees less than the city centre. The apartment stays relatively cool as it is double brick, and keeping the shade blinds down in the afternoon helps enormously - you can still see through them.
There is also no internet but there is wifi available in several cafes and the library provides internet services and is about 150 metres away on Seaview road.
The other 3 apartments in the building are the homes of the residents, so please respect their privacy and quiet. Definitely no parties, and no more than 2 people to stay, other than a baby with its own carrycot. Sorry, the apartment is not suitable for pets. No smoking in the apartment or on the balcony, only in the courtyard.

I have recently retired to the goldfields of Victoria after living in Alice Springs in Central Australia for most of the last 15 years. I like to read, travel, walk, and enjoy good food and wine. I am interested in current affairs, literature and exploring new places and cultures.
