À propos de ce logement
1860s Farmhouse (2nd floor apartment) constructed of Lancaster brick in historic town of Fertility has a great 1 acre lot with waterfall views & access to Flory Park to hike & fish. This Dog Friendly home is convenient to all things Lancaster (Route 30 & Lincoln Highway) near to Rockvale/Tanger outlets, a relaxing Amish country drive, Dutch Wonderland, 10 minutes to F&M College and Millersville University, 5 mins to Lancaster Convention Center, Central Market and 15 mins to Spooky Nook.
Built by a woman in 1861, this brick construction is fortified with the historical star construction that ties the upper level masonry walls to the upper level house joists. With original Lancaster county soft brick construction, the house maintains its charm with its original slate roof, hand dug well, antique water pump, and charming serenity of its 1 acre of fruit trees, waterfall views and lots of wildlife. There are 2 bedrooms with Queen beds, 1 full bath with Clawfoot tub and washer/dryer, a fully equipped kitchen and a living room with a full sized pull out sofa. The home has original pine wood floors that have lots of character.

I will be available throughout your stay and a detailed safety and information booklet will be available in the house and via soft copy for your convenience for anything you may encounter.
This house has amazing history. It was built by Barbara Diffenbach in 1861. It was used as a wash house in its early days, and you will find various wash house memorabilia as decor to reflect this history. The house is the perfect location for a get away to Lancaster county. Right near the main highways (Route 30 & 462), it is 5 minutes from Tanger and Rockvale Outlets, Amish Country, Kitchen Kettle Shops, and Dutch Wonderland, along with numerous fast food and sit down restaurants. Lititz is also close by and worth the twenty minute trip to experience one of the best small towns in America. If all you want to do is have a retreat, less than a minute down the road, only 1/2 mile away, there is a Turkey Hill Gas Station, Walmart, Grocery Outlet, Brewer's Outlet and Vinny's Pizza. The current owner of this special 1861 house is an international field hockey umpire and is very happy that the Home of USA Hockey, Spooky Nook Sports Complex, is an easy 15-20 minute drive.
The Harrisburg International Airport (MDT) is the closest major airport and is one of the best kept secrets of the area. Uber exists in the Lancaster area and is growing in popularity. Public transportation (bus stop) is within a 1/2mile at the Walmart, but please let me know if you need additional info in regards to transportation options. You can ride a scooter, bicycle, or rent a car - let me know how I can assist you in your travel arrangements.
Though windows have been updated and greatly reduced the sound of the outside traffic, I would recommend bringing ear plugs if you are a light sleeper, as traffic has picked up since the bridge was widened within the last few years. I have grown accustomed to the noise and don't even notice.
Please enjoy your stay. You have 1 designated parking spot in the driveway and be sure to always exit the property facing forward due to the busy road - please contact Suzi for details if more parking is needed. Treat everything with respect and please let me know if there is anything that needs attention or if something breaks, so that I can make it right as soon as possible. While in the home, please be mindful that there is a family that resides in the first floor paradise (walk softly or bring slippers to help reduce the noise). No Smoking in the home or on it's premises. Pets will be considered on an individual basis and with references being required. Enter brook/swim at your own risk. Use of boats or bicycles while on or near property is at own risk and all safety precautions should be taken including use of life preservers and helmets. The rear steps are for emergency use only, as they are for fire escape. Fire extinguishers are located in every room. The water shut off and electric panel is located downstairs through the Bilco doors outside - contact me or our emergency contact immediately If you need to access this space. Please let me know if there is any way that I can help make your stay great! This home is constantly being updated and any suggestions are welcome.

I am lucky enough to travel the world with my work - umpiring international field hockey. When not traveling, I love to exercise my dogs, hike, fish and listen to country/bluegrass music and recently became a volunteer firefighter. My favorite food is homecookin and diner foods. I believe "Happiness is only real when shared." I love treating others as I wish to be treated and thank God to be able to share my blessings with others.
