À propos de ce logement
"Knickerbocker Lodge" is the perfect log cabin getaway in the mountains. Whether you're looking to escape in summer or winter, you have the comfort of a cozy 5-bedroom house complete with everything you could want within a few minutes of Hunter Mtn.
This newly built (2007) log cabin is a 10-minute walk (0.5 miles) from Hunter Mountain Ski Resort. It's a modern, spacious, naturally lit 5-bedroom/3-bath home with all the amenities for a relaxing weekend away from home.
To see a VIDEO of the house, go to YouTube and copy and paste the code jdQcJQsX5FE in the "Search" field - you'll find our video entitled "Hunter Mountain Log Cabin" (AirBnB won't allow links to be posted here - my apologies).
It has 5 bedrooms (4 queen beds, 1 full size bed w/ 1 pull-out single trundle bed, 1 double sleeper sofa), 3 full bathrooms, bar, gym, pool table, 2 dining rooms, large deck with BBQ grill, wood-burning stove, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and coffee machine, 2 lounges/living rooms, one with a 52" flat screen TV.
The town of Hunter is a quaint, quiet, rural town offering a great deal of privacy where the log cabin is. There are a few shops, a post office, gourmet deli, bagels and burgers place, and a few bars in Hunter village. There is also the village of Tannersville, up the road, which also has restaurants and bars, and a main street with cutely painted multi-colored buildings.
In winter, people come to Hunter and the Catskill Mountains to ski, sled, hike and hang out relaxing by a fire with a beer in hand. In summer, people come to Hunter and the Catskills to hike, do Zip Line tours, go tubing in Phoenicia, go dirt biking and, generally, just relaxing in the outdoors.
You can get to Hunter by renting a car, but there is also the Adirondack Trailways bus, which travels from Albany as well as New York City Port Authority and drops you off at the bottom of the hill at the entrance to Hunter Mountain Resort. There is also the Amtrak train, which goes to Hudson, NY. You can arrange for a taxi to drive you 45 minutes from the train station to Hunter for about $65.
Our house is the nicest log cabin you can rent right on the mountain. It's beautifully decorated, comfortable and cozy, and perfectly set up for a group of good friends to have a good time and enjoy relaxing in the house while also exploring the surrounding outdoors.
My good friend Anne co-manages the house while I'm out traveling or sailing, which is most of the year. You may get a response from either of us and can be assured you are in great hands. Just check out our reviews for confirmation!

I am a traveler who taught English for many years abroad before moving to NYC, where I opened my own teacher training schools (Teaching House) and English as a Second Language (ESL) schools (IH New York & Boston).
After a few years of working around the clock on building our schools, I bought this house in Hunter so I could relax and enjoy time on the slopes away from New York City.
And after a few more years, I sold up and bought a 44-foot catamaran called Cheeky Monkey to sail around the world. So, as of now, the house is up for rent while I am sailing across oceans and exploring lands outside the USA.
So while I am off on my adventures, I hope you enjoy your stay in my beautiful log cabin. I've had many wonderful weekends and holidays there and I know you will too.
