We welcome our international guests. Clementine "cottage" is an addition to our home and shares a common wall with the rest of the house, yet it has a separate, private entrance and provides all the comfort and relaxation needed to start each day refreshed and ready for fun. It feels like a charming cottage. Complete privacy.
Go around the right side of the house and find the ramp leading to a beautiful, sunny redwood deck with seating and an umbrella. French doors open into your private bedroom. Inside you will find a bathroom with walk-in shower, convenience nook, and walk-in closet. The closet not only holds your suitcases and has a rack to hang clothing but contains a table and chair where you can sit quietly next to a window and compose a note or postcard to send home.
The queen sized bed, topped with a three inch memory foam mattress, is supportive yet soft enough to cradle your contours for a restful nights sleep. You'll be warm and pampered under a down comforter and quilted floral bedspread. If more warmth is needed, the cozy fireplace heater will send out infrared heat.
Antique dressers and lamps are charming and utilitarian. Original oil paintings hang on each wall, and change throughout the year for variety. Many are local scenes, including The Monterey Customs House, The Wharf in Monterey, the Pacific Grove coastline carpeted with florescent purple rosea mesembryanthemum.
The newly tiled walk-in shower is spacious and light, with skylight directly above showering area. Towels, shampoo and soap are provided. The bathroom heater makes for a pleasant and nurturing experience.
The convenience nook is stocked with coffee, tea, sweeteners and an assortment of snacks such as, non-hydrogenated margarine, home made nut bread, fruits and/or other items. Plates, cups and various utensils are provided along with dish soap and dishtowels. Microwave, mini-fridge, toaster, electric water kettle, and coffeemaker make it convenient for an in-room meal.

I've lived on the peninsula almost all my life. When people ask me why I've never moved, I reply, "When you live in Paradise why would you want to leave?"
In that time I have been and done many things including professional calligrapher, natural foods baker and singing in The Carmel Bach Festival Chorus for 15 years. Another recent discovery while building, is the joy of swinging a hammer!
I've traveled to India alone, and to Italy with my husband, enjoyed cultural music and dance, basked in moments of stillness and quiet, and marveled at the unique gifts each person has to offer.
My husband, Robert, is a respected California artist who paints plein air landscapes in oil in one of the most beautiful places in the world. His paintings can be found at robertlewisart. He enjoys nature, running, hiking, biking and, especially, making a cozy home. Robert is very happy to live in a place that makes these things so easy.
Together we have created a space just for you, utilizing our combined experience and talent.
