Xiong, or the bear, as he calls himself (熊), is a great guy. He's funny, super helpful, and can advise you where to go and what to do on the island of Kinmen. He picked me up from the airport, arranged me some material and a map of the island, and took me to the apartment. He can teach you about Taiwanese tea culture too.
The place he has is conveniently located, though not exactly walking distance from Jincheng town. That's no problem - he lends his scooters to his guests, so you can just cruise around the tiny pretty island of Kinmen. The house itself has five apartments, one of which I stayed in. It was clean and cozy, with a nice bathroom. Xiong himself lives outside. Kinmen is a pretty quiet place, so an apartment like this is perfect.
If you're going to Kinmen, I can well recommend you to stay at Xiong's place. It might be a slight problem if you don't speak Chinese, though. We conversed only in Chinese, so I managed well, but I don't know about his English. You can ask. Staying at his place will be worth it in any case.
