Pros: Marine's place is adorable and in a great local community close to the Seine and the Eiffel Tower. Very convenient to metros. Lots of places to shop for food on one street over in either direction. Lots of restaurants. All of the amenities worked very well and what is provided makes it easy to live there. Cons: Disclaimer--I was not there as a tourist my needs are perhaps different than most. I need quiet and good, consistent internet. I found the place to be a bit noisy with the windows open and spotty internet if you need to be on it all day. Because it's in a residential neighborhood, most did not speak English which made it tough if you needed something. The directions about the house were on 2 two inch small peices of paper without much detail. I would have like to know how to work the washing machine. I would have liked to know that there is her house number and her house number B separated only by a Korean restaurant--not easy to figure out which was which as the B is very tiny in the upper right corner of the plaque. Hers is to the left of the restaurant if you are looking at the buildings. Also, no directions on how to fob into the doors and the lock is tricky. Don't leave keys in the inside lock and take the spare set with you to use. I did this and it resulted in having to call a locksmith and a 500 euro charge. Communication with Marine was good although she was travelling which made it somewhat limited. She did send her parents over when I had a problem the first night getting in and they were very helpful and kind. When I had an issue with the internet the recommendation was to go downstairs and ask the cheese shop for their password and use theirs. Perhaps some travelers would be comfortable with that--I wasn't. For the average tourist--Marine's place would be nice. For an American business traveller it wasn't ideal but still comfortable.

Kathleen, Other people figured out that they have to get in building 15 (and not 15BIS that has a different entry with a different number on its door), as indicated to you, that looks like the one on the ad picture... To find a solution from abroad, I asked my parents to come for you to realize it and you made them wait for 30 minutes at 10pm, that is not very correct... Maybe you could have checked you were in the good building when you realized the key could not get in... From the beginning to the end, everything has been, in my opinion, complicated : your questions are about everything and your request are sometimes oversize : for the luggage, for the nespresso capsules etc. I think that an hotel would be more adequate for you than airbnb that is not a professional service. I let you some indications in the apartment but not a brochure, that is true. Everything is pretty easy to use...

The place is in a superb location. 30 seconds from nearest VELIB station (for a bicycle), 1 minute from metro station, 12 minute walk to Eiffel Tower, 3 minute walk to MONOPRIX market and great boulangeries.

Marine was very helpful during my stay. She helped me to find necessities in the neighborhood like grocery stores, bakeries, restaurants, bars, etc. Her apartment is in a great neighborhood and about a 10 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. The apartment is about a 3 minute walk form the train station. I will definitely be staying here again when I return in the future.

Great apartment, very close to two metro stations, bars, restaurants and supermarket. The Eiffel Tower is a 5 minute walk from there. Marine was a very good host, and the house was just as described. Would definitely go back there.
