This apartment is in the heart of a quaint white village that backs onto the national park that connects through to Morocco. The castle right behind the apartment dates back to the Romans & has the Moorish influence etched into it.
This entire house is for your exclusive use!
We have a new house manager looking after the house and the place is clean neat and ready for guests.
The house is quaint and captures all the quirky rustic architecture of the village houses with classic wood and super thick walls.
The large one bedroom and lounge are super comfortable plus there is a secondary lounge area upstairs and a terrace with amazing 360degree views.
In winter light a log fire and enjoy the cosy lounge or enjoy it's refreshing coolness on the hot summer days. At the base of the house it has the perfect cave like qualities of being cool in summer and warm in winter.
The adjacent kitchen to the left is quaint and practical and has a double door onto the road that can be left open with it's unique raised entrance to the road outside that keeps it private but lets the world go by.
The bathroom is below the stairs and another design feature.
Upstairs is the middle lounge / study with a comfortable automated reclining sofa which is perfect for relaxing and reading. From here the stairs lead to the terrace.
To the right is the large comfortable bedroom with characterfull wooden beams in the sloping roof.
The terrace is perfect for taking in the views, sun and getting really exposed to the village life from it's vantage point overlooking the classic church and down over the valley toward the Green hills and mountains in the distance.
Each area has it's own atmosphere and allows one to find the perfect place to relax and match their mood.
Sometimes a guest review tells it best .... "I was inspired to visit Jimena on a pretty short notice. Karl arranged my one week stay and all details very neatly with great communication. Everything was cleaned and nicely prepared when i got in. His friend Raquel was available for any question with great consideration. The house proved to be a small traditional andalucian gem, rustic and very agreable to live in, right in the middle of the old town. Simple and quality stay, it will seduce genuine experience seekers. Jimena has powerful nature and sceneries to discover, and all it takes to make a perfect discover of true Andalucia. Overall a really enjoyable experience with very good people running the place." Loic March 2016

The castle is an easy walk and has old Roman ritual baths cut out the rock toward the River.
The National park is accessed easily from the top of the village and in the valley behind the River is great to swim in and hike along. Paths lead deep into the forests, and short walks are everywhere.
From the village a Roman road links up to the network of original Roman roads that kept the empire together.
In the caves in the National park, original cave paintings of the impression that the early Phonecian traders made on the locals have become stylized symbols of the village.
The village itself has numerous tapas bars and Restaurants and the locals are very friendly and English is spoken by most proprietors.
Jimena used to hold large music festivals before the crises. Hosting top musicians from around the world. This ethos still pervades the village with it's artistic flair.
The surrounding countryside has great restaurants and day trips to other villages.
The beaches and sophisticated yacht waterfront of Sotogrande is half an hour from the village.
Other undeveloped and natural beaches are also accessible and what is great in the area is that the beaches are not overly developed as they have been along the Costa Del Sol as we fall under a separate administration that took control and limited development.
So this is an ideal area for those looking to be out the hectic tourist zone but striking distance to everything.
Gibraltar is 40 minutes away and a must see along with exploration around the peninsula toward Tarifa.
Morocco is 30min away from Gibraltar, Tarifa or Algeciras.
All in all this is village is very well located to explore Andalusia and worth staying for at least a week if not a month.

This is our home when when we are in Spain so please look after it as if it was your own 8-)
We are offering the house at a very reasonable rate to make it available for fellow traveller's to enjoy as much as we do and really ask you to hand it on in the best condition as if you were lending a book or any other personal item from someone. We believe a house is better maintained if people live in it, instead of boarding it up when we are away.
Please smoke outside and definitely not in the bedroom or inside as we are non smokers.
The electricity and water are expensive so please use them sparingly. Keep the hot water turned low and ensure no taps are left dripping.
In winter we provide one gas bottle for heating using the gas heater which is more effective and economical than using electricity.
If anything is not tidy, damaged or broken please let us know as soon as possible and if you can, preferably replace the item or leave money for us to arrange replacement.
There is bedding / sheets and towels.
Cleaning: We rely on guests cleaning up after themselves as the cleaning service fee is purely for the laundry service so please leave the house ready for me or the next guest so they enjoy their stay and preserve the AirBNB way of sharing our homes.
Please leave the bathroom window open during your stay so that it can ventilate.
When you depart, leave the bathroom and bedroom window open to let air circulate.
In Spain the toilets are not well adapted to large amounts of toilet paper. Throw excess toilet paper and other waste instead in the rubbish to avoid blockages.
