“Gordon Castle is a classy affair. Their cafe, set beside their huge and beautifully planted walled garden is a lovely place to come for lunch. The menu is derived from the goods grown in the garden where possible. Beautiful surroundings with a children’s play area and gift shop too (see Gordon Castle natural play area link also in this guide).”

Clothing Store
“Johnstons is a great place to visit. Take a free tour of the factory to see how the methods, machinery and craftsmanship of many years past are still used today to create the wonderful Johnstons products, as well as for Burberry, Hermes and other iconic brands. Relax and enjoy coffee, cake or lunch in the fabulous restaurant before some well earned retail therapy in the Mill Shop. Fabulous interiors, clothing, gifts and accessories and local produce. ”

There is a cafe serving good quality savoury and sweet foods, a garden shop, a whisky shop, bookshop, gift shops and an art gallery. There is also a natural play area for children. In the surrounding woodland and grounds you can choose from several country walks that will take you through the gorge of Randolph's Leap-a famous local landmark with an historic tale, and a SSSI (Sites of Special Scientific Interest). www.logie.co.uk/whats-happening/ Instagram: @logiesteading”

Boulangerie
“The place to go to for the best shortbread in Scotland. Purchase gift tins and boxes to take home to friends and relatives (or as a present for yourself) and buy seconds to munch in the car as you drive around Scotland. A small museum shows the history of Dean's and how it all began from Helen Dean's kitchen table, and developed to a multi million pound industry. Cafe and toilets on site, but parking can be a problem in high summer. So if you visit then take care to arrive before 11.30am or after 2.00pm.”
