Staying in our Nomadic yurta is a wonderful opportunity to explore nature of the remote and scenic place of Russian Altai on the Russian-Mongolian border. We offer a friendly lodging next to Altai herders pasturing sites. Our yurta is for people who are driven by passion of adventure and discovery of Altai, which is together with Himalayas is associated with the important events and processes of the world's history.
You will live in the traditional felt yurta with fire place in the middle. The hostess will treat you with breakfast of milk products from her family own flocks of cows, sheep and goats, including home made cookies, cheese and roasted lamb. Bed linen, towels and blankets are provided, but your own sleeping bags and warm sweaters are advisable. Facilities are outside ( bio toilet may be provided by the request). Drinking and washing water is from the local spring.
You will find some rock drawings and antique burial mounds at a short walking distance from yurta. We also recommend to have 1 day auto trip on the off road vehicle to the Valley of Sacred Mineral Springs (50 km) and to the beautiful mountain lake Khindiktikul (50 km) located close to the border with Mongolia and Tyva republic. Snow capped mountains around and roaring of numerous crystal clean streams nearby offer relaxation views and captivating bird watching opportunities. You will also see yaks pasturing on green slopes and may be lucky to taste yak milk products.
