Brasserie
“Blue Mountain Brewery is an utterly wonderful place to spend an afternoon and, unlike most of the wineries, kids can enjoy this place as it has a full menu, plenty of run-around space, and stuff to keep one busy (corn hole and such) other than focusing on the brew. It's one drawback is that it's rather pricey, but we highly recommend this place.”

Tapas Restaurant
“Spanish Tapas, great menu, amazing outdoor patio on pretty evenings. Great place to grab a pre-dinner drink and appetizers (the bacon-wrapped dates are to die for), or to settle in for dinner.”

Bagel Shop
“ C-ville "Best-Of" since 1996! "Hall Of Fame 2018" Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner you can't go wrong!! Charlottesville is well known for the home of the Best Bagel Ever!! If you are not in the mood for a bagel then try their salad and/or soups. Do not be intimidated by the lines as they move very quickly. A sure palate pleaser and the price is right!!! ”

Bar Speakeasy
“Seafood & French. Cool spot down an alley on the famous Charlottesville Downtown Mall. Atmosphere is smoky (without the smoke) with a throwback vibe.”

Restaurant italien
“Yum, yum, yum. Light, sophisticated Italian- with an amazing wine list. Widely considered one of Charlottesville's best restaurants. Doesn't take reservations and gets crowded, so go early for dinner, or put your name in and head to the patio at Mas for a pre-dinner drink.”

Cafe
“This is another one my favorite brunch/lunch spot. Great lattes, amazing food. Pastries are out of this world. Think authentic pain au chocolat, almond croissants... not light in calories, but definitely worth it.”

“This location is on the Downtown Mall. People watch while enjoying a cup of Joe and pastry. Then do not leave the mall until you have explored all of the shops and restaurant menus. Outdoor pedestrian mall is a must. ”

Cafe
“OKAY, some of my friends roll their eyes when I bring up La Taza, but I can't get enough of their breakfast tacos and breakfast potatoes. If you're here on the weekend and are willing to wait a little while (because they are usually busy), it's worth the wait. If you're lucky and you are here during the week, you'll have no problem getting a table or placing a take-out order! If you want to enjoy a nice cold drink around a fire conversing with locals, check our the Tikki Bar at La Taza. It's an outside bar with a tropical theme and relaxed atmosphere in the heart of Belmont.”

Cafe
“Feast! is an amazing market to go to if you want specialty, gourmet cheese, wines, crackers, select veggies, pastas, etc. Their cheesemongers are very knowledgeable and will help you find the perfect crackers/jams/wines with which to pair your cheese choices. They also offer delicious take away sandwiches and salads. You can also order from their catering menu (think cheese boards, pumpkin ham biscuits, fruit arrays) if you're wanting something for your group to snack on.”

“Located next to Monticello and Michie Tavern, Carter Mountain Orchard is family-owned and operated. The mountaintop location affords spectacular views of Charlottesville, the Piedmont, and the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is so much more than an apple orchard! ”

“A Charlottesville institution. Parents send their kids these bagels when they go away to college. Locals see everyone they know there. The lines move very fast - so don't be discouraged if they are long. The caesar salad is fantastic. ”

“This is the local's place for bagels. As a transplant from New York I am a bagel snob, but even I have to admit these bagels are very, very good. There are three locations. Sometimes there is a bit of a line, but it moves quickly.”

“Treats for everyone! Lots of gluten free options, in particular. The almond pave is a particular favorite. Enjoy!”
