Cable Car
“The longest aerial tramway in the US, this is a must see. Hike up la Luz trail (3.5hours) and ride the tram back down, or just drive up to the base and ride the tram to the crest and back down for amazing views of all of Albuquerque, atop the Sandia mountains. If your in town during ski season, take your skis and you can access the mountain from the tram too- super cool experience!”

Route
“There are a _lot_ of ways to experience the Sandias; find a way to do something up there. It's a magical place. Hiking La Luz is a good choice, if it's not too hot out and you're a strong hiker. There are many, many other hiking and biking options, and taking the Tram to the top is fun. (The food at the top isn't great, but the views make up for it.)”

“If you happen to go North to Corrales to see the Red Paint Studio and meet Laura Balombini, (as well as other swell galleries), swing by the Indigo Crow Cafe for lunch. Fresh, locally sourced foods and inviting service while sitting under the large cottonwoods is a boost in a busy day of sightseeing.”

“Local favorite with several locations in town, we often frequent this one at the entry to Corrales which is not far from here (Coors/Alameda). Awesome place to hang out in or out, tons of menu options, great coffee and bakery, local beer and wine. Also great for take out. ”

Parc
“We love to hike and NM has plenty of trails. The Sandia Mountains offer an oasis of trails from easy to difficult. What's better than hitting the trail to the top, having a 360 degree view in all directions and seeing for 100's of miles, then taking the Tram down to then top it off with lunch/dinner and a refreshing NM brewed beer. ”

“Great service and selection of beers. $4.75 for a 16 ounce pour is hard to beat. Their food is simple but good and often there is live music. The back patio is also very nice and relaxing. ”
