Our place is close to art, culture, and dining at the Historic Old Town; Museums, zoo, botanical gardens, Hispanic Cultural Center, Rio Grande Nature Center, hiking trails along the Rio Grande River, and downtown are all just a short drive away. Balloon Fiesta is 20 minutes away. The University of New Mexico and the airport are 15 minutes away. You will have your own private space with a shaded back yard patio. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
The cottage is a separate 500 sq ft. building behind the main house. It is very roomy and private. The space includes a full bedroom with a door for extra privacy, a dining area, living area, kitchenette, pantry, and bathroom. It is listed for 3 people, however besides the queen size bed and fold down futon couch, there is a futon ottoman that is good for a shorter person to stretch out on. The space can definitely accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. The queen size bed is extremely comfortable and made with natural materials. We use all natural cleaning products and pride ourselves on offering a healthy environment for our guests. There is organic coffee, half n half, and tea available. There is a sitting area out on the deck under a magnificent Mulberry tree.
This is a city residential neighborhood. The area has usual city ambient noise such as children, dogs, traffic, and even a rooster. We are on a dead end street that is typically quiet in the night time sleeping hours. There is a grocery store within easy walking distance. The Rio Grande river is close by on Bridge. There is easy parking on the south side of the street and a hiking and bike trail available.
  • Super, casita abordable!

Up on a hill on the Westside of Albuquerque our house faces the Sandia mountains for the sunrise and overlooks the Albuquerque city lights at night. Pat Hurley park is a 4 minute walk from the house. We are 1 mile off of the Coors Rd exit from I-40, between historical route 66 and I-40. Old Town Albuquerque is 2 miles away, which is close to the Albuquerque Bio Park, Zoo, and Rio Grande River. Downtown is 4 miles away. Many local restaurants in our area and 66 bus runs on Central 6am-late night.
This is a simple, private room with a queen, pillow top, memory foam mattress. As you enter the house, the hallway is on your left and the bedroom will be the second door on the right next to the bathroom. There is a smart T.V. and Wi-Fi can be accessed throughout the house. Pat Hurley Park is just down the street with a scenic view of the entire city. Two other rooms are available!
2 blocks from Pat Hurley Park with sencic view of Albuquerque. Mostly a quiet neighborhood street. You may park on the street in front of the house if there is no parking available on the gravel in the front yard. Recommended to bring valuables with you into the house.

This one-bedroom apartment is right in the heart of downtown, across the street from the ever-popular Zendo coffee house and the super awesome Sidetrack Brewing. It is two blocks from a brand new grocery store and there are five breweries/taprooms within walking distance! The building is dedicated to the arts with live/work spaces and a theatre. Blocks from the train station, bars, and dining.
The apartment is on the second floor, but it is right near the front door at the top of the stairs. Neighbors are awesome and you may walk past artists at work in their studios. The space has lots of historical charm and quirks, such as old mail slots and an old phone cubby. Modern updates make it a very comfortable place to stay!
Our neighborhood is the most up and coming in Albuquerque! It's a very unique little arts hub with studios, coffee shops, bars, the super cool Rail Yards Market and a brand new grocery store just two blocks away. There's a coffee shop and brewery that share an amazing patio right across the street.

Located in a quite neighborhood in downtown Albuquerque, this nicely accommodated apartment is within walking distance of Albuquerque's night life, the city zoo and steps away from a local baker and coffee shop. Its 10 minutes from the airport. Intended to accommodate 2 guests comfortably it does have two beds. The master bed is a super comfy memory foam mattress and the futon makes the second bed. This apartment is ready for you to have a memorable visit to our fine city.
This apartment is part of a four plex originally built in 1926. It has remodeled recently and looks very nice but it has a few quarks expected of an old building. And yes we are aware that the floors creak lol. It also features a small private back yard. Though very close to downtown the area is remarkably quiet at night but can be kind of busy during the day. It is only 7-10 blocks from all the bars and restaurants located in the main downtown area off Central Avenue, and is only 3 blocks from the City Zoo. If you're into bike rides or walks this apartment is roughly .6 miles from the cities main trail system along the Rio Grande River and a short drive (or Uber) to Old Town.
I lived in this neighborhood for about a year and a half. What I love most about this area is it's close proximity to restaurants and local breweries in the downtown area. At the same time I love how peaceful it is and how many friendly people you see out walking at various times in the day.

NEW! Thanks for viewing this listing. While this is a fairly new Airbnb property, I am an experienced superhost (see my 1,000+ reviews on other properties!). This bright, airy studio is located right downtown. Step out the front door to Central Avenue which is the home to many local attractions, restaurants, bars, and nightlife. The Downtown Grower's Market on Saturday am is located just across the street. We are excited to host you at our Coveted Casita!
HOUSE AMENITIES & FEATURES * Bright, studio apartment * Vaulted ceilings * Tile floors w/ radiant heating throughout * Wi-fi and Cable TV * Located right downtown. Walk to coffee shops, dining, nightlife. * Close to Old Town, UNM, and Nob Hill * Quick freeway access KITCHEN * Small apartment-size kitchen perfect for quick meals * Equipped with coffee maker, microwave, toaster, mini-fridge, stove, and oven * Stocked with dishes, silverware, cups/glasses, and basic cookware BATHROOM * Clean! * Stocked with plush, white towels, shampoo/soap, hand/face lotion, Q-tips, and cotton balls * Shower/tub combo * Basket of toiletries under the sink in case you forget something SLEEPING CONFIGURATION * 1 Queen-size bed * 1 Ikea couch bed (may be best suited for a child)
88/100 Walkscore! This apartment is located downtown and is within walking distance of coffee shops, dining, bars, nightlife, convenience stores, a laundromat, etc. There is also a bicycle rental station located just down the block. Catch a show at Albuquerque’s historic El Rey Theater, only two blocks to the east! Old Town is just a short drive away! There is quick freeway access to easily get around the city. On Saturdays (May-November) the park across the street comes to life. The Downtown Grower's Market is a local gem filled with fresh fruits/vegetables, tasty treats, and local artisan crafts. Just as with the downtown area of most major cities, Albuquerque's Downtown has a large population of eccentric, transient, and homeless people. This is something for you to be aware of but not alarmed by. I live in this neighborhood and feel comfortable walking alone or with my young children, though I do pay careful attention to my surroundings just as I would anywhere.

I have never met such a wonderful person and was delighted to have met him and greatly appreciated all the time he gave me. I wholeheartedly recommend him and his fabulous Tiny Zia tiny house!!!

This home is a vintage bungalow in a nice historic residential neighborhood. It includes some of the coolest coffee shops, laid back breweries, and top notch restaurants. Old Town with all it's charm is within walking distance. We welcome couples, friends, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
Feel comfortable and secure in a well built 100 year old brick home. 9' ceilings, large windows. The room is very private, no need to walking through main house to get to your room... you have your own exterior entrance.
South: Our neighborhood butts up against the judicial and convention part of downtown. You will find century old bungalows, adobe's, and quirky victorians. Cool cafes are dotted in among the homes. West: Marble Ave. is two blocks off of Mountain Rd. which 300+ years ago was the main route to the Sandia Mountains and beyond. Walking down Mountain Rd. you can pick out some of the old structures that must have be along this road when it was rural. As you walk west to 18th St. you'll pass some of the states best museums and onto Old Town. Old Town is Albquerque's humble beginnings as a Spanish settlement, with several adobe buildings surrounding a plaza.

  • We had a great time in Albuquerque and enjoyed our stay at this Airbnb. The place was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was good for two and it looked like the couch was convertible to a bed although the room might be a squeeze for 4 adults. We had good weather and were grateful it cooled off at night. There are two ceiling fans that help circulate the air and we also were provided a floor fan. We would recommend staying here whenever you visit Albuquerque.

  • The place is a perfect spot to stay in during your time in Albuquerque. Nothing was to far of a drive from here and photos give a small amount of how beautiful this place truly is.

  • I am really speechless about this stay. I was nervous at first, but the location of the residence made me feel alot better about the whole visit in general. The neighborhood is very peaceful and quiet, and it's close enough to downtown to discover. The amenities were great and the actual place itself is SUPER clean!! To say the least, this place was AMAZING!! I highly recommend to future Airbnb'ers. ;) My favorite amenities were: -SUPER nice shower head with good hot water -Very clean -The mattress on the sofa bed was wonderful!! (I woke up with no back pain at all for sleeping on it near 2 weeks) -GREAT microwave and air conditioner - Great central location to bus stop and markets

  • Michele's casita was the perfect place for our stopover in Albuquerque!

    Oriel2018-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • We were traveling on a road trip and needed a place to stay for the night as we were passing through. We wanted something clean, safe, quiet and cheap. Michele’s place were all those things. The tiny house was newly remodeled on the inside. Everything was super clean and brand new. It’s the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a quiet and clean place to rest your head for the night. The price was an amazing deal! Michele also gave us some great ideas for local places to eat.

    Angie2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Michele’s casita is awesome! It’s clean, private, and close to everything. The pull-out bed is surprisingly comfortable, and the neighborhood is charming and peaceful. Michele was available for any questions, but all the information we needed was either communicated to us beforehand or clearly laid out on the itinerary page. I really enjoyed my stay!

Centrally located just 12 minutes from downtown, 14 minutes to the Sunport Airport, 15 minutes to UNM and the Nob Hill districts, 10 minutes to the Rail Runner to Santa Fe and freeway access and 9 minutes to BioPark Aquarium and the Zoo. We lived comfortably here for a year with kitchen, full bath, bedroom, sitting/dining room and a secluded outdoor living space.( and we're still happily married!) The kitchen is set up for light cooking with a refrigerator/freezer, cooktop, microwave and coffee maker. Some necessities are stocked as well, with grocery stores near by. The bedroom has a double bed with feather comforter and blankets, your choice of pillows and crisp new sheets. The bath features shower, toilet and lav sink. Newly installed hot water heater assures guests a generous shower on demand. Remember tho that Albuquerque is experiencing a prolonged drought so conservation is always important. There is secure off street parking in a fenced yard for your privacy and your pets pleasure. Of course, pets should be contained if left unattended. There are several bikes available for access to nearby River paths just blocks away. Albuquerque is a great bike town with miles of dedicated bike paths and lanes (maps available). There Is TV with local reception, DVD and DSL wifi provided as well as a great music system, iPhone/iPod compatible. We can help you discover and enjoy the area or leave you comfortably alone to explore on your own.
All the map apps will get you right to our neighborhood. If you have turned on to our road and are unsure of the next step, the house is the 3rd house on the right. Pull into the parking area through the gate, the casita is located at the back of the property through the blue gate.

This cozy studio is nested in the heart of downtown Albuquerque! You'll enjoy a private backyard and easy access to Albuquerque's bars, restaurants and many coffee shops, in both downtown and Old Town. The apartment itself is equipped with a full bath, washer/dryer, queen bed and fold out floor mattress for a third person, wifi, and a kitchenette including a minifridge, microwave, french press, and water boiler.
The studio is in the back of the main house, which is also available through Air BnB! The studio and main house are separated by a locked door. The pictures show all of the amenities and furnishings of the space. If you don’t see something that you might need, just ask and we’ll see what we can do.
Downtown Albuquerque and Old Town are vibrant neighborhoods, both offering many restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and opportunities for shopping. Route 66 is close (it's our Central Ave) and a 10-minute drive to I-40. The neighborhood itself, however, is tucked away keeping the noise volume at a pretty consistent low.
  • Great place to stay!

  • Great space for a couple traveling! Central location that’s easy to get to! Kris was very responsive and it was easy to check in to the place even though we got there late. Would definitely stay again the next time we pass through ABQ!

    Julia2018-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Kris’s place was so cute and lovely! We were driving from Houston to Utah and needed a place to stop and rest for a night in Albuquerque and this was perfect. Communication was awesome and the check in/out when smoothly.

    Tori2018-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kris and Kerry were very accommodating, allowing us to check in after 10 p.m. as our flight did not get in till midnight. We just needed a place to sleep for one night before we headed up to Santa Fe the next morning. Getting in late we got to the studio close to 1 a.m. directions where good, we got in the gate fine but had some trouble with the door to the suite. Which Kris clearly explains in the check in directions, however I wasn't used to airbnb's new app set up where you have to keep swiping to get the full directions, instead of everything being in one paragraph, thus I had trouble with the lock, seeing that the window was open I just crawled through that. The place looked as described and was clean. We put our stuff away and went to sleep. Apparently Albuquerque has a known cockroach problem, which Kris explains in the house guide onsite; however I was tired and did not read the house guide and just went to bed. So it was quite disturbing to discover a few of them crawling on me. This made sleep difficult (the dreams!). The location is fairly close to the airport so you can hear the airport noise and traffic noise. And the wall attached to the main house is thin, we heard everything the house tenets where doing and saying, thus no sleep for us, I submit that we are naturally light sleepers, and thus may not be a problem for those that can sleep through anything.

    Jennifer2018-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • I recommend staying here! Cozy and comfortable. We got in later than expected and it was easy to get in and out. Great communication. Would stay here again.

    Amelia2018-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • 1 nite was ok,but I think for reasons already stated would make it difficult for an extended stay : lighting, seating, minimal dishes,no real set up for washing dishes and importantly no freezer to prepare for next journey.

Our 200 sq ft casita is blocks from downtown Albuquerque & the Bosque Trail (great for runners & cyclists) & minutes from Old Town. It is walking distance to downtown, including restaurants, breweries & the farmer's market. Decorated in a modern style, this simple, cozy spot in a historic neighborhood has basic amenities (see below). The casita is ideal for conference-goers, road trippers & urban adventurers. Close to airport, convention center, UNM, interstates, & historic Route 66.
The casita is a basic accommodation for solo travelers and couples in an urban setting. We try to be honest in our listing so guests have a full understanding of the space before booking, so please read the full description! The casita has a very small living room, full bath (including our famous vintage 70s avocado green bathtub!), very small bedroom with a queen-sized bed, and patio. There is a twin sofa bed, too. The casita is roughly 200 sq ft, so about the size of a small studio apartment. ***It is a small space, smaller than it looks in the photos, so please be aware of that before booking if you're looking for a spacious place to stay*** There is a microwave, coffee maker, mini-fridge, and teapot, but NO kitchen or kitchenette. The casita entrance is in our backyard, which is shared with us. AMENITIES: • Fast wi-fi • Keyless entry • Queen-sized bed • Portable air-conditioner and built-in heating unit (fans and space heaters also available for your comfort) • Clean, modern Southwest decor • Covered patio with wisteria and trumpet vines • Pull-out couch with twin mattress • TV with Roku and Netflix • Mini fridge • Microwave • Coffee maker and electric tea kettle • Local handcrafted and/or organic toiletries • Laundry available on request ($5 charge) • All cleaning products used in the casita are non-toxic and/or organic • New Mexico guidebooks and magazines PLEASE NOTE: We are not able to provide luggage storage before check-in or after checkout. ***If you want to book, please make sure to answer all of the booking questions when requesting or booking, including if you need the sofa bed if you have a party of 2*** We make efforts to be eco-friendly on our property, so hope our guests will, too. Please don't book this listing if you are not willing to be cognizant of water, electricity, and HVAC use. Although we have an air conditioning unit and fans, the casita can be pretty hot in summer, so it’s NOT a good location for those who are particularly heat sensitive. KIDS & PETS Our casita is not a good location for families with children, including those with infants. While we love children, our space is not set up to accommodate them. Please do not book or inquire about this location if you will be bringing children. Please do not book this location if you're not ok with the possibility of dog interaction—while no dogs are ever in the casita space, we do have two dachshunds that might occasionally be in the yard. We do not allow pets in our casita under any circumstances—please do not book or inquire about this location if you are traveling with pets. This is good news if you have a pet allergy, as you can be sure our space is free of dander. NEIGHBORHOOD Downtown Albuquerque is a historic and developing neighborhood undergoing revitalization. Please understand that our casita is located in an urban, downtown location. While we feel safe here, it might not be the best fit for every traveler. It's a good fit for people who enjoy and appreciate urban neighborhoods, with their quirks, charms, and irregularities. Please do not book if you desire or expect something else from your Airbnb experience.
Our property is historic—the home we live in was built in 1916. It's located in an urban neighborhood with a mix of historic and new construction. We're just minutes to the Bosque hiking and biking trails, a fishing pond, several parks, Old Town, the zoo, the aquarium and botanical gardens, and the main downtown district. Being centrally located downtown offers you lots of options in terms of restaurants, bars, and other activities—all within walking, biking, or quick driving distance. We love that our property is super close to the Downtown Grower's Market on Saturday! This is a great location if you're on a road trip (close to both highways) or taking in a conference downtown.

This cute studio (no kitchen) is a 20 minute drive to casinos, airport, great views, restaurants, family-friendly activities, and nightlife. You’ll love our place because of it's coziness. This studio sits on our property next to our main house. The yard and drive way is spacious enough for a large trailer or moving truck. We are on the outskirts of town, so there is nothing within walking distance. NO PETS allowed in the studio - sorry.
***No pets please. We have a lot of guests with allergies and we want to ensure everyone has a comfortable stay. There is a mini-refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave and desk in the studio. Movies and streaming shows can be watched through Roku stick. The TV also has local channels. There is one roll away bed for a third person. There is no central heating and air conditioning. For heat, there is a gas wall heater which keeps the room toasty. For cold air, we have a window air conditioning unit that will keep things cool.
We are at the south end of town, close to the airport, amphitheater and Isleta Casino. Our neighborhood is quiet and off the beaten path.

  • We stayed at Daniel & Anna’s place only one night while traveling through to Arizona to ride mountain bike trails. It was a perfect space that had everything we needed clean up after a day of riding and even coffee in the morning. They have made a very comfortable place to stay, especially for the price!

  • Awesome hosts and they have a wonderful clean and very comfortable place to stay! A+++

  • Awesome airbnb and very friendly hosts! Place was clean and had everything we needed. Dan made us breakfast before we left too which was really nice. Highly recommend! Right by Twister's restauarant too which was used for filming breaking bad

  • While I only had the chance to shake Daniel's hand, this location was just what I needed to rest my head before hopping back on the road to White Sands. Daniel was friendly and the bed comfy--couldn't have asked for more!

  • Nice place in a quiet neighborhood. It was set up very similar to a hotel. The heat was on and it was nice and warm when we got there. I messaged Daniel to let him know that we would be arriving soon. He promptly phoned me with instructions and told us to call if we needed anything at all. We were only in Albuquerque for one night, but I really wish we could have stayed longer as the value of this property is amazing!

  • The place have character and we love the tiny amenities. We traveled with 2 adults. I think it's best fit for no more than 2 plus one child. It's a smaller place but very unquic and historic. Location is close to many restaurants and near freeway exit for over night travel passing.

    Joezi2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • The place looks just like the pictures. I really enjoyed my stay. It is an urban area and a older home so expect some noise, but it was minimal and didn't bother me at all. Just something other's might want to take note of. I was very comfortable and felt very safe. Going in and out was very easy and check in and check out was a breeze. The location was perfect (centrally located). I didn't realize it was just a couple blocks away from my favorite food spot in Albuquerque. A big thanks to Kelly for hosting my stay. It was a great addition to my amazing birthday weekend.

  • Kelly is a great host and very helpful. She’s gone above and beyond to ensure a wonderful stay. Useful tips are in a binder she put together of eateries, scenery, etc from 1 day to as long as your trip. We had an amazing stay and love New Mexico. Thank you Kelly!

Recently renovated, fully furnished and house-keeping equipped guest house within a secure compound in the historic Pajarito (little bird) neighborhood along El Camino Real (the Royal Road of Hispanic explorers/settlers), later used as the old Route 66. Located in the rural, lower South Valley below Albuquerque; yet an easy commute. Cozy, bright and airy with timeless Southwestern decor. The bosque (the woods) that line the Rio Grande River) is our 'back yard,' a protected state park actually.
Casita Santuario [pronounced Sahn-tu-ah-ri-oh] is a small, separate and private guest house. Casita has been enhanced by a front porch roof and a private side yard of its own. Features a studio living space with sleeping alcove (twin bed), full kitchen in galley layout, and separate bathroom with shower stall. Best suited for one person for long term stays (twin bed in alcove always made up); however, easily accommodates another one or two people for shorter-term stays with the double-sized futon couch/bed (we will make up the double bed prior to arrival for any bookings that are more than one person). The first person is at the base rate; with additional people at the $10 fee per person/per overnight stay. Host needs to know at time of booking how many people to prep the casita for. Casita is within a secure fenced compound of what was an operating ranchito that is nestled in a shady cottonwood grove (los alamos) by the Rio Grande River bosque (the woods along the river), among fields and horse farms of the lower South Valley below Albuquerque. NOT FAR FROM ... Easy access with your vehicle to downtown Albuquerque, I-25, and major hospital complexes, Albuquerque International Airport (aka the Sunport) and Kirtland Air Force Base; very close to the Isleta Resort and Casino (you'll pass by the Isleta Reservation herd of bison). Snazzy community aquatic center within a couple miles (outdoor facility, open seasonally). WATER: We are on well water, which is pretty good quality as far as usual well water here in New Mexico goes. Be advised, although not unhealthy, well water here is typically “hard” due to mineral content, so not particularly sweet or even odorless. We have a filter on the shower head and provide filtered drinking water (chilling in Britta pitcher in the fridge), plus a complimentary bottle of water or two upon arrival. TELEVISION: Casita offers an extensive package of TV channels via Xfinity, along with premium channels HBO and Starz (plus ShowTime at least until early September 2018). OUTDOOR GUEST SPACES: The casita now has a roofed front porch, which features a bistro set. The casita also has a privacy-fenced side yard on the east side with an Adirondack chair and side table that looks out across our back section toward the Bosque that lines the Rio Grande River. This fenced yard also serves as an outdoor space for guest's traveling canine companion complete with a medium-large doghouse. There's the pair of Adirondack chairs and low table under the shady Russian Olive tree in that corner. So plenty of outdoor seating to take in the sun and/or shelter in the shade, all for enjoying our lovely New Mexico climate, viewing the waterfowl and birds. Take a walk and see nearby livestock: sheep, goats, horses, llamas, chickens and ducks; we've had a male peacock roaming about lately too. It is a short stroll over to the west bank of the Rio Grande River. NON-SMOKING: Casita is non-smoking; but smoking okay outside. Please carefully put out the cigarette and dispose of the butts in trash so the animals don't eat them. PARKING: Guests with the typical one vehicle park directly in front of the casita. We can accommodate parking and turnaround with add’l vehicles, plus trucks with trailers, even moving panel trucks, in the back section — just flag us ahead of time so we can coordinate as relates to other residents’ vehicles and ease of access for all within the secure shared compound. SECURITY DEPOSIT: An AirBnB Security Deposit is sort of like a host insurance policy; however, it is never charged upfront. The Security Deposit would only be invoked with a guest stay if (1) there was significant damage or items go missing, and (2) if the host puts in a request/explanation to AirBnB, and (3) if AirBnB finds it to be valid. So not to worry, there are protections built in for the guest(s) also.
The Rio Grande River State Park is our back yard (aka the Bosque). Historic area: Our Pajarito neighborhood is situated along El Camino Real (the royal road), which is oldest continuously used European roadway in North America, and was also the historic Route 66 prior to 1937 re-routing -- now called Isleta Blvd SW because it leads down to the Isleta tribe's reservation 2.5 miles south of us. They have a quaint pueblo village with an old adobe yet still active mission church, plus their fancy Isleta Casino Resort which features big-name live concerts, gambling, fine dining, lake fishing, and a flanking kid's entertainment complex. Pajarito was one of the original Hispanic settlements in the Rio Grande Valley (c. 1620s) and also comprised the 42,000 acre Spanish land grant of 1746). The older part of the main hacienda on the property where the casita is located was originally a rough-built way-station for the cow-hands working the John Chism cattle drives going up the Rio Grande Valley; they were taking beef cattle north to the mining camps of Colorado. The two-story adobe on the corner was a stagecoach inn. The nearby Gutiérrez-Hubbell House History & Cultural Center is a 5,748 s.f. adobe structure that was a trading post/stagecoach stop/mercantile that dates back to the mid-1850s Territorial Period. New Mexico didn't join the United States until 1912. The Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge is directly across the Rio Grande River from us and we share the sand hill cranes, great blue herons, Canadian geese, bald eagles, hawks, various types of ducks and birds, and coyotes that inhabit the Bosque (woodlands along the river). Stroll to the River: Walk north along the Los Padillas Acequia (irrigation ditch) in front of us, past two houses (and the llama herd), and there's the metal bridge across the Atrisco Canal that is the access into the bosque that lines the Rio Grande River. Go up over the dirt levee bank and you'll see a clearing with the short path that takes you right to the River. Once in the Bosque open space one can go about 2.5 miles south down to where the Isleta Reservation starts on the other side of the interstate, or go north about 3.5 miles to Rio Bravo Blvd SW. And about a mile north is the concrete drainage causeway at Duran Park, cut into the woods there for a nice winding trail through the trees that takes you to a particularly pretty spot on the River. It is a great place here, we have always considered it a sanctuary. Our place is quite secure, especially for a woman. Some parts of town not so much. Like up by downtown Albuquerque, the hospitals, and UNM, which have wonderful attractions and activities one should definitely enjoy yet where there are several services and shelters for homeless people (truly unfortunate anyone is homeless!) and like other metro areas, perhaps not the safest place to live/stay over, or like the northern part of the South Valley is also somewhat sketchy to mention a couple; but down at our end, it is more farm-like. And, our dogs take guarding this place, its people and our visitors quite seriously ... in fact, they are thrilled to have the visitors we bring in [the dogs can also be kept apart from short-term guests, if you'd like]. We are friends with several neighbors on our street, especially adjoining properties to the north and south of us; we look out for each other, lend tools or helping hands when needed. ISLETA RESORT & CASINO: very nearby, located on the Isleta Reservation; not just a casino, this is a luxury resort with dining venues and live entertainment. Look them up online. You'll pass by their herd of bison going to and from the resort. SWIMMING: Casita guests are encouraged to take advantage of our nearby community outdoor pool (open seasonally) that is only 2.4 miles from our place: Los Padillas Aquatic Center, 2141 Los Padillas Road SW, Albuquerque, NM (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). Check online for seasonal dates/hours; however, other larger public pools in the Alb. area including some indoor facilities that are open year-round. Review: "Los Padillas [Aquatic Center] is well worth a visit. Although there are no grassy areas, there are shade tarps and plenty of picnic tables, and cement areas to lay out your towels [chairs and recliners are available]. The water play area has a shallow pool that's great for toddlers and babies and kids of all ages enjoy the over-sized mushrooms and umbrellas that spout water. There are lots of spray fountains and play features. This pool is handicapped accessible. There is also a 25-foot long lap pool that's five feet deep. A water slide completes the fun." Hours: Lap swim, 11 a.m. - noon weekends only, recreational swim, noon- 5 p.m. daily. Cost: $(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) spectator, veterans and 50+ swim free.

The room has a separate entrance with a half bath attached. Gated off street parking is a great thing in Albuquerque these days. Situated right off Central and just west of the Rio Grande river, this house has a beautiful view of the bosque, city and mountains.
This house has a fun and funky appeal. The vigas in the main house are old telephone poles topped by tongue and groove ceiling, the rest of the house has exposed beam wooden ceiling. The kitchen and living room afford great views. There are many comfortable places inside or out to sit and enjoy a drink, read a book or maybe watch the hot air balloons float by or the geese and cranes fly south.
The house is right on the edge of the bluff west of the river. There is a great 2 level park about 3 blocks away which is a great place for a walk or run a while enjoying a great view. There is an awesome baja fish taco spot; Sharkeys, my favorite New Mexican restaurant El Charritos, a Taco Bus, and The Monte Carlo Steak House (web search it, it's fun), grocery stores and more all withing a mile of the house. The house is 2 miles from Old Town and 4 miles from downtown and the train station.

An historic home nestled right between Old Town and Downtown on a quiet tree-lined street. The home is a ten minute walk to either Old Town or Downtown, and is also within walking distance to the Bosque, Zoo, and Bio Park. Built in 1914, it still has its original hardwood floors, carpentry, hardware, and adobe. This home has a perfect location with its proximity to many restaurants, cafes, breweries, and entertainment venues in the heart of the city. Pet friendly and baby friendly.
The home has also been newly furnished, with brand new beds, matresses, and couches and newer appliances. Washer and dryer are in the home and there is free off-street covered parking space on the property. The home also has its original fireplace in the living room and host will furnish guest with a complimentary bundle of firewood. There is also an outdoor patio with outdoor furniture and grill.
The home is located in the historically-protected 4th Ward neighborhood. This neighborhood largely dates to the turn of the 20th Century and has a very eclectic mix of styles of homes ranging from bungalows to adobes to stone mansions. The neighborhood is shady and quiet. The home is also right by the charming Mary Fox Park, which is ideal for a stroll or picnic. Central Avenue (Route 66) is just a couple of blocks away, and the Interstate is about a five minute drive from the home for easy access to the entire city.

  • Nick’s place was perfect! We enjoyed the house and it had a lot of character. The beds were super comfy. All the ammenities you could need were easy to find. The location was great for our stop between Arkansas to San Diego. Thank you for opening your home up to us! I will definitely look into staying here again!

  • This house was adorable & Nick was an amazing host! The neighborhood had high walkability with good restaurants close-by. However, we parked on the street in front of the house (1 of 3 options given by Nick) and our car got broken into overnight and belongings were stolen. Otherwise, great stay.

  • This place was great. It is in a great location. I travel with a large van and I did have my sideview mirror damages due to the narrow street parking but once I moved it to a less busy street it was fine. There was a great park less than a block away that my dog loved. It is easy to walk downtown or to Old Town.

  • We arrived at night—make sure you carry a flashlight or use the one on your phone to improve your journey to the door if you arrive late. Nick was quick to answer the phone and graciously helped us get in. The house is charming and full of things a traveler may need or appreciate. We loved the chance to do laundry after our long road trip out west. The screened in front porch was the highlight of our stay so make sure to take advantage!

  • Nicks home was very quaint and cozy! Got the pleasure of meeting Nick when we arrived as he lives across the street. Very welcoming and helpful with a list of local places of recommendation. It was a quick overnight stay but loved the affordability and cute quiet stay. Will definitely return next visit to Albuquerque, thanks for a great stay!

  • The house was perfect for my family of 3. The house is located in a quiet area of town but centrally located to a variety of different places such as the BioPark, Old Town, and a variety of restaurants. All these were a mile or less from the house which made everything walkable. Nick was quick to respond and had great recommendations. The house was very clean, comfortable, and had a nice porch to sit on. Such a cozy place. This was a perfect Airbnb experience and I would definitely stay again if we return!
