Restaurant
“A meat-lovers mecca, this Gastropub - specialising in game - is uniquely situated in it's own 18th Century, 1,000 acre deer park. There is much Gothic food theatre to be enjoyed here, as the chef sears your choice of steak over the Elk Room's open fire, as you look on by candlelight. On dark winter nights there is something of a touch of the Hammer Horror about this venue, approached in proper, country, pitch-black-darkness through it's creaking iron gate.... In summer, the venue has its own food and music festival. At any time of year, definitely book, book, book in advance! ”

“Meet more than 50 rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules nose-to-nose at Redwings Horse Sanctuary Aylsham. Residents include real-life Black Beauty Maya and a whole troop of miniature Shetlands known as the Gangsters who can't wait to say hello! Hot drinks and tasty snacks are available from the Nosebag Café, there’s a play area for young children to explore and a wide range of souvenirs to browse in the on-site gift shop. Redwings Aylsham offers a schedule of family activities during the school holidays. Entry and parking are free”

Boulangerie
“Artisan bakery in Aylsham. Expensive but excellent bread and pastries. They also do a very good coffee, which I drink with an almond croissant or a cinnamon bun as a special treat.”
