Newly updated, comfortable 800 square foot vintage cottage. Enjoy nearby hiking trails, swimming, boating and many other outdoor activities from the comfort of this classic camp. All amenities, plenty of parking and private yard with a fire pit. Woods surround the property nicely. Local stores and restaurant. Your host grew up in the area and is very familiar with what it has to offer.
This four season camp is located 5 minutes from Douglas mountain and the Sebago town beach, Sebago marina and public boat launch. Plenty of parking allows guests to bring their boat, RV or snow mobile. You are 20 minutes from the area's best alpine skiing and snowmobile trails are practically in the back yard.. There are many different activities to enjoy.
Longhill is rural, private and quiet on the back side of the house. Longhill Rd is on the other side and occasionally cars can be heard passing by... otherwise pretty quiet. My wonderful next door neighbors are close by and keep an eye on and up on the property. They have (8) chickens that sometimes wander into the woods that border our properties.
  • Great place!

  • Dean's place is a little slice of heaven. Just returned from a weekend getaway with my wife and another couple, and the space was perfect for the four of us. The house is in really great shape, inside and out, and the yard is super private. All of us slept wonderfully on the comfy beds and we plenty warm enough with the propane "wood" stove, which kept the upstairs nice and warm, as well as the rest of the place. We cooked in for every meal and really utilized our time here since it was such a comfortable space. We even utilized the large grate for the fire pit outside and cooked steaks and corn on the cob under a beautiful night sky. The house is easy to find and there was very little traffic on the road throughout our stay, so it really felt private without being too far "out there". Douglas Mountain was a lovely short hike, less than 2 miles from the house with sweeping 360 degree views of Sebago Lake and the surrounding mountains. There's a couple smaller grocery/general stores close by for essentials, and Hannaford is only a 20 minute drive away. Everything about our trip was perfect, and we all highly recommend checking out Dean's place!

  • Do yourself a favor and stay at Dean's place. My fiancé and I stayed here for only a night, but were very sad to leave wishing we could have stayed longer. The cabin is absolutely beautiful, recently renovated. The house is fairly secluded, but the backyard is very private. Perfect for anyone who wants privacy but doesn't want to be in the middle of nowhere. Dean was super responsive and answered all questions. The house was spotless and perfectly ready for us. Since we were there for only a night, we weren't able to enjoy the recreational equipment in the shed, but we did enjoy a fire in the fire pit. We would recommend Dean's place any day!

  • The place is great and Danny and Diane are very kind. The rooms are cozy and I really enjoyed the use of the outdoor deck and pool area. Definitely recommend to future travelers!

  • Danny and Diane were great hosts, and had the place set up immaculately for us. Danny met us on our arrival and let us know about the amenities and nearby areas for us to check out and places to walk our dog. The place was very spacious, even more so than can be seen in the photos, and Danny and Diane made sure there were fresh eggs and English muffins in the fridge for us so we wouldn't have to worry about breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay, it was lovely to get to use the pool and just relax for a few days. We had everything we needed and it was easy to communicate with Danny and Diane if we had any questions. We would definitely recommend staying here and hopefully will be back again ourselves!

    Christina2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Danny and Diane were excellent hosts. We felt welcomed since we arrived and enjoyed the pool immediately. The area is quite charming and there are excellent restaurants which are not far. We used the whole second floor and managed to make it work for us. The place was clean and the sheets and pillows were super comfortable. The best part of our stay was definitely enjoying Diane's yummy banana nut muffins. We have two kids 4 and 3, so we drove to Santa's Village which was 90 minutes away and the kids had a blast. My dad enjoyed a quiet study day and made good use of the pool. We couldn't have had a nicer Labor day weekend. Thank you so much Danny and Diane!

  • This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a quiet relaxing time. We visited after maine got 3 ft of snow and it was amazing. Our walkway, steps and porch were cleared off and the apartment is clean. We had a long drive to get there and we arrived late. We were greeted right away and we even got some fresh pork patties to cook up in The morning from Danny. The place had coffee and eggs ready for us when we got there. Danny and Diane are super nice and they were available for anything we needed but they also gave us plenty of privacy. I would definitely stay there again and would suggest it to other travelers.

  • Best Airbnb stay thus far. If you need a quiet and relaxing get away visit Diane and Danny 's place. They are amazing hosts. Their place is clean ,comfortable and welcoming. This place is about an hour's drive from Portland Maine. I stayed at their place along with a party of 4 , we slept very comfortable , the first room was a big bed with a sofa and the second room there was a bed and a futon , both rooms were very spacious , there was a little kitchen area and a comfortable sitting area. Diane left us English muffins and eggs in the fridge and coffee for us to make for breakfast. Also on our last stay she made us blueberry muffins, they were delicious. They both took the time out of their day to show us around their lovely yard. They also have the cutest little dog coco. The pool was huge and clean , so sad we didn't have time to use it. I would definitely return to this Airbnb. Thank you for a great stay!

  • Our stay at Diane & Danny's apartment was perfect for what we needed. It was so helpful that we found such a comfortable , well equipped, clean place that allowed us to book for just one overnight. Diane and Danny were so welcoming. The pool area is beautiful. We chose to book here because it was a convenient 15 minute ride from Freedom, NH where a friend is working at a local camp. This was so much nicer than staying in a hotel room. All of the comforts of home and awesome blueberry muffins! Thanks again!

Chris&Josee

  • This was the first time using Airbnb and our first time visiting Maine. From the first time I contacted Cheryl she was very pleasant and always answered all my questions. My daughter was having a birthday while we were there and Cheryl gave me the names of a few bakeries in the area that I could call about a cake. The barn is LOVELY! It is warm and homey, we were very comfortable there. Cheryl was sitting on the porch waiting for us when we arrived. She told us a little about the Barn and how they got involved with Airbnb then she showed us around. We didn't do much exploring since we were there for such a short time but we did enjoy the Fryeburg Fair and the town of Cornish. My daughters and I can't wait to go back to Maine and enjoy the Barn again!

  • Let me just say that we've stayed with a few airbnb hosts now and Keith and Cheryl are by far the most thoughtful. Their place is beautiful and so relaxing. We felt right at home there. There were so many thoughtful little things that were left to make our stay special, I'm sure I didn't even find everything! Both Keith and Cheryl took time to personally check in on us to see if we needed anything. We will definitely be back at the Barn the next time we are in the area! Great people, great place.... enough said...

  • Keith and Cheryl made us feel very welcome with their friendliness, helpful information about the area, and goodies for us to eat. The location was perfect. The space was wonderful. We would stay here again. Thank you for hosting us.

  • We had a wonderful experience at "The Barn" guesthouse! The space was clean, peaceful, and inviting, and provided a perfect home base for us as we explored the area and attended a local wedding. The guesthouse was also thoughtfully stocked with snacks and drinks (coffee/tea/water), which we really appreciated. Keith and Cheryl were welcoming and communicative, and responded quickly when we reached out to them. I highly recommend this place and these hosts!

    Beth2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the barn! Keith and Cheryl are wonderful host and we were so grateful for their hospitality. The area and accommodations were just lovely. We truly appreciated the cheese, crackers, bottled water, coffee, juice, popcorn and fruit that were put out for us to enjoy. My children loved playing with the puzzles and games that were in the room. They made up an additional game of counting all the moose sprinkled throughout the great décor. My husband and I were very happy with the mini-kitchen set up which enabled us to eat breakfast and dinner on site. What a wonderful first trip to Maine!

    Kim2014-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our Host was wonderful kept great contact with us prior to our arrival, answered all of our questions even accommodate a last minute addition to our party without any problems. When we arrived little later than we thought they were kind enough to stay-up to welcome us. The house was clean and very welcoming, beds were comfortable and the room and amenities were excellent. It was lovely to find fruit, cheese crackers, and tea and coffee basket. We specially loved how organised everything was. Their guest book contained wonderful information about the nearby places to see or where we can get a good cup of coffee with breakfast. The area where the house was located was very central and near to beaches as well as many walking paths. From our 2 years old to our 45 years olds everyone was really enjoyed our stay :) Over all we loved our stay and would love to visit them some time in the very near future again.

  • Charming home in the woods. Very remote and private setting, yet quite convenient to towns, and many hiking and lake activities. Kevin and Jacqui were extremely helpful hosts while also giving us our space. Highly recommended for a private getaway amongst beautiful nature and serenity.

    Susan2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here in Denmark. Jacqui and her husband were responsive over email and text and quick to offer tips for our trip. The house is exactly as pictured and was very comfortable for our group of four. It is nestled in a quiet area in the woods, very peaceful, and within driving distance of beautiful hikes in the White Mountains. We hope to stay here again on a future trip!

  • First thing was a bottle of pinot Grigio compliments of our host as well as biscuits for our dawg. Second thing was location I heard leaves fall and wind it honestly had been a while. The entire experience was a much needed. Very secluded very private.

    Jamie2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • The host was great at communicating and even made sure there were special touches such as full length mirrors for our stay since I stayed there for the wedding.

    Kirstie2016-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin was very accommodating. He made sure I had solid directions and knew exactly wha to bring. The posting was accurate and everything was as explained. The cabin was great and the nature around it was too.

    David2015-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • The place was just like the pictures. The host had left us the AC on when we arrived and some treats for Lucky our dog :) The place is very clean and nice just like the pictures. I loved it. It was very quiet and comfortable too. Sitting on the front porch is very nice overlooking the trees. At night the stars are amazing to see from the porch and on our last night we heard wolves howling!!! I am 100% sure those were wolves- it was like past midnight when we heard it- it was a couple of them howling back and forth- The place is perfect for relaxing sitting on the balcony/ porch just enjoying listening the sound of the forest. Also.... Internet is not so good in this area and your phone might work here and there (roaming) so if you are waiting for business calls or want to check emails it will be very hard to do. Over all, nice house and it was very comfortable for us. Thank you!

    Rosa2016-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our family vacation with three teenagers could not have been better!!! I was concerned that they wouldn't enjoy the peace and quiet as we did, instead, they played games every night thanks to a set of board games Kevin and Jacqui made available to us - mind you, we brought our own. But the kids liked those available in the house. The property is exactly as described and more. And we were literary just minutes away from outdoor activities and shopping. We could have not asked for a better home! Thank you Jacqui and Kevin

    mannie2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at night and everything was ready to welcome us. The chalet was very cosy, in the middle of forest in a very peaceful place. The ones who love nature need definitely to stay there! Great place to relax and hiking. Even if there was no snow we enjoyed a lot! Kevin and Jacqui are great hosts, very considerate and kind. Will definitely recommend this place!

  • A great weekend at the Yurt at Allen Mountain. Caught a show at the nearby Stone Mountain Art Center, hiked the Southwest Ridge Trail at Pleasant Mountain (suggested by Orianna, exactly what I was looking for in a hike), cooked a great dinner over the fire, and caught the sunrise at the nearby gazebo. The yurt is exactly as described, and I highly recommend for anyone looking to have some peace and quite in a well kept, natural setting. Thanks so much!

    Sarah2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in the yurt was a truly unique and enjoyable experience. It is nicely secluded in a quiet area with a wonderful view and hiking nearby. The yurt itself is nicely decorated with simple amenities to take care of your basic needs, The beds were comfortable, and cooking facilities adequate. Also included are a guitar and drums, yoga mats, and books to make your stay more relaxing. The outhouse was especially nice and exceeded our expectations, not the kind of outhouse you might be more accustomed to. Given that the weather was a little cool while we were there, we did not attempt the outdoor shower. Overall it was a great time and the yurt and surroundings met our every expectation. I would highly recommend it if you are willing to "rough it" a little bit and looking for something a little different.

    James2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely amazing experience! Booked this on a whim within 15 minutes of seeing it. Best decision I've made all summer. The Yurt was easy to get to, the view was beautiful, and the host provided plenty of notes and guidance as to how to live within nature. The outdoor shower was interesting but I highly suggest you give it a shot. The yurt is pretty spacious too, definitely enough space for a family trip. Overall a great spot and would totally book again. Thanks Orianne!

  • Very nice yurt and overall experience

    Jim2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What a perfect place to spend a mini-honeymoon after the whirlwind of wedding celebrations. We arrived after dark and was pleasantly surprised that a light was on in the yurt. As soon as we walked in my jaw dropped - this is the biggest yurt I have stayed in, with the dome and triangle birch supports creating the illusion and feeling that you are staring into the center of the Universe. The first morning there was gorgeous, we had breakfast on the bench over looking the mountain and enjoyed the quiet. We decided to take the trail up to the gazebo - WOW. I highly suggest it to everyone that stays... the view is worth the little hike. When we came back down we drove to the store a few minutes away to get some lunch, we came back to lay in the hammock... Not long after that the thunder started booming. At first rain drop, we went inside. We felt safe and dry despite the torrential downpour with thunder and lightening.. The yurt is equipped with everything you need to enjoy getting back to yourself. The kitchen was perfect for cooking dinners, the books were interesting, the guitar and drums were a perfect addition. We weren't able to have a fire or brave the shower with the weather that we had. The morning we left, the rain let up just in time for us to bring our belongings down the trail to leave - just as it started to rain again! Divine timing was in play with our stay in this yurt, and we really hope to venture back! Thank you so much!

  • Brautiful place! Very relaxing with amazing mountain views!!!

    Olga2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt is a very special experience . We came because we needed a place to stay but we wished we had more time to just hang out and use the yurt and its environs as the retreat that it is. We loved it. It is perfectly appointed with everything one would need. Bring some provisions because you won't want to leave. There are great hikes and short trails nearby. Beautiful vistas. Read the listing to see if this place is right for you. It was perfect for us

    Rosamond2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a dreamy place this was! Our family had a wonderful time exploring the many hiking trails around the yurt, sitting around the campfire and enjoying handful after handful of wild blueberries! Oh and the view... Goodness, the view! Absolutely stunning! Were already planning our return next summer!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed for one night on a road trip of New England. When we arrived we were greeted and given a tour then left to settle in. The room and bathroom were very clean. The bed and sheets were very comfy. The house was quite and peaceful. Great for a getaway weekend! I will definitely be staying here again in the future.

  • Such a great weekend at the Perkins House. Hosts are fantastic, and the home itself has been amazingly restored and has plenty of charm. Location also great - Cornish is a nice little town. I'm looking forward to staying again in the future.

  • This was a wonderful place to stay! They were so welcoming and the house is in a quiet little neighborhood just outside of the town center. Very nice large front porch and a side porch where we were served breakfast. The room was great and an AC kept it nice and cool despite the 95 degree weather we had. I slept like a rock! I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

  • I don't have much to say since we stayed only one night... Everything was as described and better. Gretchen and her husband were very nice. They prepared a very nice breakfast for the guests and created a very friendly environment. Ahh, I loved their hyper excited dog, too :) Cheers!

  • Gretchen and Keith were great hosts. They were flexible and very friendly and made us feel like home. Their house is beautiful, relaxing and nicely decorated. I totally recommend this place.

Bienvenue!

Merci Mark

  • Mark's place was so much more than we had expected. My daughter had rented it for her Aunt and I, with us not being experienced in Air BnB; we really were not sure what we were in for. So when we arrived to a absolutely adorable cabin with a spectacular view, to say we were pleased would be an understatement. His cabin has all the amenities and Mark is always available and responsive when you need him. The only regret is that we could not stay longer. We would definitely stay here again.

  • What a great place!! The quintessential Maine experience complete with small, private beach - PERFECT for our two young kids. They also warmed up to row boat adventures where they got up close to view ducks and turtles. Great view and truly perfect, relaxing environment. The house was cozy, cute, and comfortable. Never felt short on amenities and appreciated the extra items available to us - from Qtips to sweatshirts. Mark was a great host, readily available to answer any questions and checked in on access and comfort of the house. We would love to visit this place again. Great experience for a quick vacation out of Boston.

  • Peace and quiet, the perfect getaway! Pretty straightforward place to get to with a gps, making it that much easier. The cabin is homey feeling with an amazing sun room/porch with a ton of windows; great for the summer to get the breeze that is coming off of the water. Enough fans to cool the place down. Both a row boat and canoe are available with life vests. Our dog loved the pond which is big enough to be a lake in my opinion. The deck and patio were a nice addition. There is a fire-pit too for the cooler nights. Mark was easy to get in touch with. Wifi and Roku available in the cabin as well. Close to Cornish which has amazing food and quaint shops. Krista's is amazing for breakfast. They have an outdoor patio where they allow your dog to sit with you. If you want to have dinner there on a weekend night call a week in advance for reservations. Bay haven red claw tavern was another score! Best lobster we've ever had! An amazing vacation that we can't stop talking about!

    Kristen 2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time! Thank you so much for letting us use the cabin. We really enjoyed spending time in the water, using the boat, fishing off the dock, fires on the patio, and relaxing on the sun porch. Mark's promptness with answers to questions was great and very useful!!

My home is a cozy, classic bungalow, on 10 acres of woodland. The available 2nd-floor bedroom is comfortably furnished with a king size bed, and includes all linens. Guests have exclusive use of a bathroom with shower, including towels. The bathroom is not en-suite but located immediately next to the room. Guests are welcome to relax in the first floor great room, and a spacious screened front porch in warmer weather. The kitchen is available for preparation of light meals.
I have created a quiet space for relaxing and reading and entertaining, to provide the serenity I need. If this is what you are seeking, then this place is for you.
    - Brownfield, ME is the home of the Stone Mountain Arts Center located across town 8.6 miles. - Fryeburg, ME, home of the famous Fryeburg Fair. (October 1 to October 8, 2017) is 10 miles north. - Cornish, ME and its many antique shops is 10 miles south. - North Conway, NH with its all-season recreation, dining, and outlet shopping is 20 miles north-west. - Bridgton, ME, and the Sebago/Long Lake region is 20 miles east. - The Saco River offers great canoe, kayak, and tubing fun. There are several canoe and kayak rental outfitters. Some also offer transportation for you and your equipment back to your car after a day on the river, even if you didn't rent from them. - Restaurants: I have collected menus from several of the popular restaurants in the area. They are inserted into the "House Manual" you will find on the kitchen island. I also have provided a stack of maps, magazines and brochures for the whole region.

  • Great house on a quiet residential street. Close to Stone Mountain Arts Center which is a hidden gem of a venue! Just be aware that cell/internet service is spotty at best. Bring directions to destinations w timing concerns. Otherwise it is a fabulous option in the middle of beautifle Maine!!

  • If you want to leave technology behind, and enjoy the quiet and unspoiled woods and setting this AirBnB is for you! The home is spacious and pristine, and there is ample parking. The location is great....a short drive to the surrounding towns, and just off of Route 5. Richard is a wonderful host, and we would definitely choose to reserve here again next year for the Ossipee Valley Music Festival.

  • If you are headed from Maine to New Hampshire, or vice versa, this is a convenient and absolutely delightful place for an overnight. Likely also to be a great place to stay if spending time in the region. The best part is if you get to sit on the porch and talk with Richard. Thanks.

  • The place was located few miles from the Saco River. A perfect spot to stay if you are kayaking. Richard was spontaneous to provide us instructions to get to the place after confirmation. He checked if everything was perfect for us. The place was clean and would love to go back for my next trip.

Taproot Cottage is cozy, quiet, and comfortable, and is nestled in the beautiful White Mountain foothills of Brownfield, Maine. It is only one mile from the Stone Mountain Arts Center. The cottage offers a well-equipped kitchen/dining/ living room combination, full bath, a relaxing sunroom that may convert to a sleeping area, and a loft bedroom with a queen bed. The location is great for taking advantage of outdoor activities and local town amenities. Walking trails right on the property.
  • This is a great find. Both Caren and Jamie are wonderful hosts. The place is spotless and so pretty to sit and watch the sun rise over the hills. The clean air and beautiful views compliment the pristine condition and layout of the cottage. I would strongly recommend staying here to anyone and hope to do so again.

  • Jamie and Caren's place is great! It was spotless and had everything we needed. It is in a quiet and peaceful setting. We enjoyed having a campfire (wood and kindling were all ready for us) and a short hike on the property. Only wish we could have stayed longer! We will be back again! Thank You Lesley and Mike

  • I was looking for a quick getaway from the busy city life and got exactly what I was looking for at the Taproot cottage. Caren met me and got me set up with everything including a suggested hike. Jamie and Caren paid attention to all the little details as hosts. I will definitely book again when I need to see more trees then people

  • This is the one that you've been hoping to find! Three friends stayed here and all are eager to return. The property is bursting with character. It's nestled amongst the trees in a beautiful forest in the foothills of the mountains. It's peaceful and private, and at the same time close to everywhere you want to be. An incredibly scenic drive (20 mins) gets you to the White Mountains/North Conway. Jamie and Caren helped us get settled in and went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed. You couldn't ask for nicer people. Don't miss out on the opportunity to stay in such a special place - staying here definitely added to our experience.

  • We enjoyed our time at Karen's place. The cabins are brand new and nicely furnished. They are doing a lot of construction there adding another 40 cabins. It can be noisey and dusty during the day, quiet at night. There are bass in the lake a short walk from the cabin.

    Rhea2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The property was absolutely gorgeous and Scott, the owner and host, is now a forever friend. The cabins were clean and cozy making it the perfect weekend/week getaway in the heart of Maine. Scott made sure we had everything we needed and was an open book on the history of the property and his excitement was contagious. He was gracious enough to let us borrow his side-by-side to explore the land and gave us a personal tour himself. My S.O. and I felt like family. The location was perfect. It was quite and free from the summer tourist chaos. Cornish, a quaint downtown strip was close by with local antique, toy and jewelry shops. However, you were just a short ride away from the hubbub of Portland, ME and North Conway, NH. If you have children, there was a fantastic brand new playground with pirate ships and all the imaginary fun that comes along with it. Soon to come, is a natural spring pond that will be just right for a summer's fun of swimming.

Nestled among mature pine trees and on picturesque Sokokis Lake, our waterfront cottage is the perfect place for small family getaways. The screened porch and lakeside fire pit are perfect for relaxing. The property has its own boat ramp and 2 kayaks are available for exploring. Sokokis Lake is a 172-acre, all-recreational lake located 2-hrs from Boston and within an easy drive to great attractions like Portland, Old Orchard Beach, Sebago Lake, water parks, Lake Winnipesaukee, etc.
3 supermarkets within 15-minute radius. Local highlights include pick-your-own for berries, apples, etc, yummy local breakfast spots, and lakefront ice cream stand.
  • Had lovely time, hanging out by the lake (fishing/using the kayaks) or driving around the local countryside, going on hikes and visiting the characterful farm stands to buy excellent local produce. The accommodation is great, perfect for a family of 4 or 6. Humble and clean interiors with a sweet porch, that looks out on the lake but is up in the in the tree line, so it's very atmospheric and private. Bug spray, grilling utensils, cleaning products, even binoculars ! etc etc....they had everything...fully equipped...the whole set up is a model of 'attention to detail'. We found the Lake to be at it's most idyllic during the week...Saturday and Sunday was very 'boaty'...with speedboats ripping around and creating enormous wakes !...but they are generally done disturbing the peace by early evening. Overall; lovely cosy accommodation, good private location on the lake, all set in a wonderful part of the world. After 4 days we were well chilled and felt so at home. We'll definitely come back some day.

A draps, serviettes, assiettes, grille, etc.
  • My family of four stayed at Jay's lake house right next to the red cabin. The house was small and lovely and right on the lake. There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep and Jay provided sheets, blankets, and pillows for us. It's the perfect place to stay if you want somewhere quiet. Jay also let us use his kayak and row boat and there is a dock in the water that you can swim to. His neighbor Barry was very kind and showed us around the whole neighborhood, where the small beach was, and the nearest grocery stores and attractions. He also brought us a coal grill that we could use to make kebabs and s'mores! We had a great time and would definitely recommend staying here! (Also- you're only about 25 minutes from North Conway and hiking!)

  • We stayed at the Schwende Hut from 7/1-7/8/2017 and had a nice relaxing time. I will admit our teenage daughter was less than impressed with no cell phone or internet access but her dad and I found it very relaxing. The chimney did leak on our first night there but Jay assured us he would take care of it before the next guests arrived. We loved that previous people had left books, games and other stuff behind. We did use the games and the kids watched some of the VHS movies there as well. Almost everything you will need is there. It is a drive to shops and restaurants so if you stay here plan on doing some driving to get to these places. North Conway isn't that far and there are a lot of nice shops and restaurants there. We ate breakfast on our last day at The Blueberry Muffin and loved it! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Jay was a great host and Barry the caretaker was great too. If you are looking for a rustic cabin to stay in and a lovely lake to swim in then this is the cabin for you.

  • We had a lovely time at this cosy cabin. We especially enjoyed reading in the comfy living area and going out on the canoe!

    Jodie2014-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We spent two nights in the cabin. Jay wasn't here when we arrived but he had a friend take care of the cabin before our arrival. We only met him briefly the 2nd day. The location is great: it's a 1 minute-walk to the lake. The cabin is spacious and you have everything you need (even movies and games). It needs a refreshment but it was fine. We recommend the place if you're looking for a spot to relax.

    Adel2014-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in this country cottage by the lake. Better than expected. In fact, we end up in a different house than what is showed in photos. But it was much bigger and very beautiful, well decorated. Also well equipped for cooking, gas stove etc. The neighbours are very welcoming. I would love to go back there soon. Didn't had time to enjoy the canoe. I strongly recommend this place. Jay was very quick on answering my questions everything went well.

334 DYKE MT. RD Rustic cottage is in the foothills of the New Hampshire White Mountains. Great views. It is good for reunions, retreats, or quiet family vacations. • This former inn annex has a great history. It was perfect for our stay - easy access to Sebago Lake, Portland and small towns in between. Nice local hikes. The building is historic and was a great space for our family. Ample room for everyone and is equipped for group meals and playing indoor and outdoor games. Fourteen people and we all enjoyed our stay. Martha is a great host. Fans in every room cooled the rooms down nicely.

    Paul2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Martha and Bob were amazing hosts. They were very friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions and helped us out when we needed it. They gave us a town beach permit for the week and even gave us a fire permit per request so that we could bring our fire pit. The house itself is very old, but had lots of history that Martha and Bob were happy to tell us about. Be careful of the bugs and make sure to close the doors so no bugs get in. Also, the house has 2.5 bathrooms, however only one has a shower, the other is a tub. Other than that misundersranding, we enjoyed our stay in Sebago and our visits to the surrounding area.

    Jeremy2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Martha's house in Sebago was in a quiet and beautiful setting, great for anyone who enjoys the mountains and the outdoors. It was more rustic then we expected but had most everything we needed. I would recommend this place to a laid-back family with an interest in historic homes and who are happy with having just the essentials. It's a great place to unplug. The location was close to the lake and for day trips to Portland, Freeport, Old Orchard and North Conway.

  • The cottage we stayed in was very clean and newly renovated. A stone tiled shower? Better than home! There was some confusion around the correct cottage rented for us, and Dan was very prompt in resolving this issue. One tip: nearby restaurant O. Dan's does not serve breakfast any more, something we were counting on. Not sure about lunch. Seems it has turned more into a dinner/nightly entertainment type place. The music was not too loud, but our cottage was the farthest away from it. Don't know if that would be an issue for the closer cottages.

  • These tiny houses are just as pictured and very clean. We had everything we needed for cooking. right across the road from the lake. There is no street number for the address, it's a loop with about 6 or 7 cabins next to O'Dans restaurant and you just have to find the number on your cabin that corresponds with your listing. Make sure you enter sebago lake into your gps because there's another marathon ave about 20 minutes away near cape elizabeth. Great place to stay.

  • Such an awesome little cabin! So cozy and beautiful!

    Caitlin2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • This getaway was exactly what I needed. Quiet time relaxing with my dogs. I only got in my car once- to go t the state park for a hike It would be nice if you could walk your dogs on the beach, though. This is on a busy road and there's not a good place to take a long walk without getting in the car

    Julie2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a great time at the cabin! Dan was so easy to communicate with and I knew every little detail since his description was so accurate. Everything is provided! We brought some breakfast and lunch items and kept in the fridge, literally walked out our front door to dinner which was fantastic. Cabin was clean, and worked out great for the two of us. Don't forget shampoo/soap etc like us, we were able to walk about 75 yards to a store and grab some no problem! Thanks for a great last minute trip!

  • We felt very welcome. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and very pleasant. We loved walking down to the lake and enjoying the view. It was easy to drive to nearby hiking trails.

  • This was my first experience with airbnb. Bradford and his wife Gerry were perfect hosts. They made our family feel right at home Sebago lake is beautiful and only having to walk 30 yards to the waters edge made it even better. the house was clean and very roomy. Great deck in back to eat and a nice fire pit for smore's.. My family can't wait to return next summer for more water sports.. Thank you again.

Location is close to several ski areas North Conway NH one of them, restaurants, Stone Mountain Art Center, Saco River Canoeing, Kayaking and hiking, skiing, snowmobiling. Fishing is popular in winter and summer. The serene forest like yard is on a quiet pond.
This home is not your usual type place that a builder put together for profit. I began my trade as a carpenter and woodworker 43 years ago and have run my General contracting and remodeling company for almost as many years. It was with great pleasure that I started building this house for myself after many years of my main obligation being that of managing my company. This home to me was a way to express myself and put to task all the things and idea's that I had contemplated over the years
The best thing about this house is, that although it is not very far from all the amenities we are used to, it offers an atmosphere where you can get away from the stressful life most of us live. Many times we have come here with the intentions of doing something or going somewhere and have decided to just stay put and enjoy our home. It's a place where you can get lost in yourself, it is quiet, peaceful, rain or shine it always seems to be a place to go and reconnect with yourself and your family.
  • The house exactly as described. Very nice and very clean. We had a great time and wish we could have stayed longer. We definitely recommend it.

  • Great experience and location!! Very charming location full of amenities. The attention to detail and unique craftsmanship made the stay pleasant. Highly recommended for a relaxing weekend in Maine! I was pleasantly surprised. Very clean and plenty of space for a family.

  • We had a fantastic time staying here. Brice was waiting for us on our arrival and was very thorough in showing us all of the numerous amenities the home had to offer. Everything was spotless, well apportioned, and welcoming. I cannot recommend this home highly enough. Hoping to stay here again next year!

  • Location, location, location. Oh, and a beautiful home to boot. You can't beat this place for a family getaway to get away from it all. Do yourself a favor and come stay at this home and you will not regret it. This is what a vacation away from distractions is supposed to be like.

  • We had a wonderful weekend at Brice and Christine's home in Brownfield. It was even more than we anticipated. The home is beautiful with incredible trim work, cabinetry and furnishings. I agree that the pictures can't even do it justice. The house sits on a quiet, secluded pond, where we were allowed to use three kayaks and one canoe. There was even a gazebo with electricity, screens and the most incredible hammock chairs, which were perfect for reading.

    Barbara2015-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house was absolutely pitch perfect! It was clean and comfortable; the backyard had a wonderful view where we spent a considerable amount of time taking pictures! We wish we could have utilized the canoes and kayaks, but provides us another excuse to go back. Everything we could have asked for in a weekend getaway!

Come stay at our sweet, cozy hideaway in our lakeside neighborhood, within walking distance to Maine's premier Sebago Lake. You will have complete access to the main house and yard. Owner or groundskeeper may be staying in the attached apartment and we will do our best to give you the privacy that will make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Our wooded retreat is a cozy, comfortable home where you can spend the day reading under a tree, playing corn-hole, or walking to Maine's 2nd largest, beautifully clean Sebago Lake. You may choose to go to a local beach, rent a boat or kayak from one of our local marinas or go hiking or biking on our local trails. If you feel like cozy-ing up inside, you can watch cable TV, use the high speed internet, play a game from our game closet or stream a movie on Roku. There is nothing like freshening up with the woods around you in our outdoor shower. Just make sure you end the day star gazing, roasting marshmallows and relaxing at the "Sand Bar". Grill and smoker are available if you want to do some outside cooking. Our neighboring towns are known for their antique shopping and don't forget about blueberry or apple picking. We have some great local restaurants or you can easily get to the great little city of Portland for the coastal experience and even more restaurant opportunities. North Conway, NH is also an easy drive for outlet shopping, as is Freeport for LL Bean and another round of shopping outlets

  • Dorothy and Dion's house is perfect! So beautiful and cozy. Very quiet and perfect for our work retreat. Fully stocked kitchen, beautiful garden, and lake right next door. Dorothy is very accommodating and hard-working.

  • This was a great retreat in a pretty secluded spot. Just as good, if not better, in person than in pictures. Very clean and homey. Dorothy and Dion communicated well and made our stay super easy. Fire pit and outdoor area are great! Loved the outdoor bar!

    Jay2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Dorothy and Dion were two amazing people. Apon arrival they were there to greet us and show us around. One thing that stood out during introductions is Dorothy being able to sign with Carrie's mom who is deaf. Their home was beautiful and very clean. We would highly recommend this home to anyone that enjoys cabin like settings. Oh, and the outside shower very cool. Ty to you both.

    Andrew2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Dorothy and Dion are the warmest hosts ever who helped us with everything from the directions to their home, to the list of fun stuff to do around the area. Their house is a perfect retreat equipped with any and everything you might possibly need and a great place to have a relaxing vacation! The outdoor shower was a unique experience, the garden veggies and herbs they allowed us to use were delightful and the Sand Bar was a place where loads of memories were made. We would love to go back!

  • My wife I stayed at D and D's place for the weekend. We were attending a wedding close by and found their listing here. What mostly attracted us was the proximity to the lake, the amount of space so it could fit a group of us, and the outdoor shower. We were greeted by Dorothy and Dion when we arrived, and they gave us a tour and made sure we were equipped with enough towels for everyone for our stay. they were very nice and provided us with printed instructions for just about everything including fun things to do locally. The house was clean and the beds very cozy. We spent every night by the fire pit outside. They even set up the pit for our fire that night. The kitchen was fully equipped as we often cooked for breakfast and used the grill for dinners. We would highly recommend staying here!

    Ray2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place and host! Dorothy and Dion were super responsive from the get-go, making all logistics easy to coordinate for our group. The house is clean and spacious, fully equipped with all the modern amenities, and the backyard is beautifully done, complete with an outdoor bar and fire pit. (They even laid the firewood impeccably in the pit so that we could easily start a bonfire to make s'mores in the evening!) They also left us great tips for Sebago area activities and provided contacts for renting kayaks etc. Highly recommended if you are considering visiting Lake Sebago!

  • Everything was great! Brenda's home is situated on beautiful grounds and there's many wonderful opportunities for outdoor recreation in the area. Communication and check-in were easy. I would stay again!

  • Our stay at J's Riverview Farm Hostel was great! If you love the outdoors stay here. Brenda was fantastic and had outdoor equipment available to borrow. Even had walking directions to the local swimming hole. Accommodations were comfortable and met our needs. Best part of the stay was the conversations with Brenda in the morning (and her coffee).

    Dennis2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Brenda was a wonderful experience. She invited us to make ourselves at home and we truly felt like we could. We appreciated having lots of space including the kitchen, bathroom and beautiful surroundings. Our room was comfortable and the house has a rustic, simple beauty in all the details. It was nice to have a quiet place out in the country on the river to relax and also be able to enjoy the surrounding towns and nearby Portland. The house was clean and even better than we expected. We enjoyed getting to know Brenda and also felt like we had our own space. We highly recommend J's Riverview Farm Hostel!

    Martha2015-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda was truly a great hostess. There are live animals outside, including a rooster that serves as an early-morning alarm, but it was a fun and different experience. Brenda is an excellent chef and a very nice, helpful person.

  • Of all my travels this year, my stay at Brenda's was the most enjoyable. Seriously, how many places can offer a warm and cozy and private swimming hole? If you are looking for a quiet getaway in the country - this is for you.

  • Tim and Sharon's place was quite lovely and the location was beautiful. The house is nicely spaced and comfortable with every cooking untensile you could need. Tim was super awesome by "shoveling" us out with his snow blower after a decent amount of snow fall our first night.

  • Beautiful area for a snowy getaway. Tim and Sharon were warm, welcoming, and thoughtful.

  • Tim and Sharon's place is a wonderful escape! We were only passing through for a night in the winter but hope to return during the warmer months. Incredibly clean and well maintained. Kitchen is ready for you to bring food and cook your meals. Lots of information on the area is supplied so you can make a plan for hikes, water, snow, shops, restaurants, etc. Dining room table to play games or flat screen TV if you just can't go without! Bathroom is very clean and stocked with towels and face cloths. All the lights and fans are labeled which makes things easy! Thanks again Tim and Sharon!

  • My partner and I stayed here for the weekend and had a wonderful time. The house was clean and as described/pictured. Tim & Sharon also include little things that you might forget while rushing to pack for a weekend getaway! And there are plenty of towels and other things to vacation comfortably. Tim greeted us shortly after we arrived and oriented us to the fire pit, dock, lake, etc. He was incredibly friendly. We enjoyed sitting around the fire, canoeing in the lake, swimming, and relaxing at the house. Very lovely all around and we may come back next year when the weather is warmer! :)

Bear Trap Road is a private, gated community with awesome mountain views. Our house is a seven gable home with an open kitchen, dining, and living room area, three bedrooms, and 2.5 baths. Because our property sits high, there is a steep drop off that is not suitable for young children. If being secluded, but not more than 10 minutes from town is your idea of tranquility, this is the place for you.
Guests are welcomed to use our outdoor fire pit, indoor/outdoor Bose speakers to enjoy over 3K songs, Weber grill, indoor wood fireplace, and gourmet kitchen. Planning a lobster dinner? We'll leave the lobster pot and all accessories to make it a most memorable experience.
Very peaceful. We are the first house on the left on a one-mile private cul-de-sac road. You may see or hear one or two cars throughout the course of the day. At night, be ready for a show of stars and the Milky Way.

  • Between the pool table, retro arcade games, patio with a grill, fire pits, grassy area for cornhole, wiffle ball or any type of game, and to top it off a sandy beach. The lake was clean, and so is his place, very easy and resourceful guy to talk to extremely accommodating and only an hour and 40 minutes drive from Salem Massachusetts, definitely feels like Maine with local egg stands and local blueberry stands definitely a hidden diamond can't wait to book again

  • Dennis' property is beautiful and a great spot to get away! We had a total of 11 guests stay, 5 children and 6 adults, with 4 vehicles and there was more than enough space inside and out. I didn't realize it from the post but the space that Dennis rents out is a beautiful basement apartment. There is a large lawn leading down to the sandy beach. This is a very family friendly rental!!

  • Rebecca and Brad were great hosts and greeted us warmly when we arrived and showed us everything we needed to know about the apartment. The location was very good and less than 10 miles from several surrounding towns with a variety of restaurants. They provided excellent dining suggestions and even made reservations for us. The apartment was comfortable and very clean. Thanks so much.

  • We stayed here the night of a concert at Stone Mountain Arts Center. It was super convenient to get to the center, and the house is easy to find. The space is charming and spacious, and Rebecca and Bradford were incredible hosts, providing coffee and tea, suggestions, and a warm welcome and casual atmosphere. The little milk jar in the fridge for coffee was the cutest! Thank you so much for a great stay!

  • Loved staying here between working two weddings in Maine. Plenty of space, beautiful artwork throughout, and they provided better than average coffee and hot cereal for the morning.

Beautiful home central to ocean or white mountains in the country but only forty minutes from Portland the old port and kennebunkport
  • Right from our arrival (and even beforehand!), Bobbie and Bruce created a completely warm and welcoming environment. Our room was bright, airy, clean, and comfortable. We would absolutely recommend staying in their wonderful home, and would absolutely stay again next time we're in the area (they weren't kidding about the awesome porch with even more awesome mountain views!) I wish we could have stayed and enjoyed the area longer (and that we took extra homemade blondie brownies & blueberry muffins, courtesy of Bobbie - both of which were positively delicious) Thank you again for such a wonderful stay!

  • The view and room was great. I was there for a wedding in the area and everything was very nice. While I was not there very long Bobbie and I had coffee and a small chat in the morning. She is really sweet and nice to talk to.

  • Bruce and Bobbie have a beautiful home atop a hill overlooking a lake and mountains. The rooms are quiet and well-appointed, and the hosts are very welcoming, even taking us to try maple syrup ice cream! Bobbie is talented at craft work, such as felting, dying, and quilting. It was interesting learning more about it. She also makes the best cookies. I look forward to returning to this friendly B&B again.

  • Fantastic place to stay for a few days. Bruce and Bobbie are extremely helpful and accommodating. Within an hour of the coast / Portland / hiking. Their deck has a gorgeous view of the surrounding mountains as well!

  • Bruce and Bobbie made for the perfect stay--from the homemade cookies, to the peace and quiet (with a view). Everything was exactly as advertised! They contacted me quickly and were a great source of information about the local area. Will definitely stay here again...
