  • Kim did everything possible to make me feel welcomed to her space. She always returned my messages in a timely manner, ensured that I had everything available to create a memorable stay, and displayed a great kindness towards me and my traveling-partner-in-crime. In fact, Kim even treated us by providing a gift certificate to a local eatery. It was fabulous. I welcome anyone to stay with Kim.

    Javier2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Kim was excellent in communicating with us prior and after are arrival. The her apartment was quaint and cozy, and exactly as pictured and described. we had all of the necessities needed for a short visit to St. Ignaces.

  • We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend at Simply. The apt is just as described, cozy and comfortable. The location is awesome, it is just a short drive or even a walkable distance to the ferries to Mackinac Island. Kim was a great host and very accommodating.

    Shelley2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Kim was great to work with. We were not able to stay as there was a slight smell of smoke from a previous renter and I am not able to be around smoke. She was easy to reach and provided us with a quick refund. She also gave us each a wonderful handwritten card and gift certificate to their favorite breakfast place in town.

    Jessica2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, cozy, clean! Perfect location for seeing St. Ignace’s best, and for trips to Mackinac Island!

    Daniel2017-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Simply Mackinac and were able to see the fireworks on the harbor from the window. Kim was so helpful and accommodating which was greatly appreciated. It is so quaint, cozy and clean...we will be sure to stay here again when we return to St. Ignace!

    Kaitlyn2015-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I went up north to celebrate her birthday and Kim was an absolute dear. She promptly answered any questions I had prior to our trip and made our trip that much more comfortable. The apartment was cozy, welcoming, and felt so much like home. I would be the first person to recommend it to someone else.

Say goodbye to traffic, stress, and urban sprawl. Escape to Bois Blanc Island in the Straits of Mackinac, Gateway to Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The island beckons if you seek peacefulness, undiscovered wilderness and views of unbelievable sunsets. This is truly Island living with all the comforts of home. Open yourself to tranquility, serenity, solitude and peace. Open yourself to the essence of Bois Blanc Island. Then write your own description of paradise.
The apartment is part of a Bed & Breakfast with three complete apartments. The apartment for your family and friends includes the Living Room with its ten-foot high ceiling features a large fieldstone fireplace. The chandelier, a sailing ship's helm, reminds you that you are on an Island. A library, with several thousand volumes and its unusual architecture, beveled glass, antique lighting fixture and stained glass pocket door invites you to read, study or write. Upstairs you'll find the Origami Room, Moe’s Room, the Bunk Bedroom and the Studio with separate entrance and balcony.
The only store on the Island, Hawks Landing, provides hearty meals, dispenses spirits, household items, video rentals, and souvenirs. The Bois Blanc Tavern contributes local color while also providing hearty meals, spirits and occasional live music. Both are located approximately 1.25 miles to either side of Insel Haus.
  • This property is located on an island that is set back in time pleasantly. Island living where everybody speaks to you when they drive or walk pass. You can keep your doors open you don't have to worry about safety...you can go roaming at 6 in the morning to see the sunrise or out at 12 at night star glazing without any concerns for security. I'm from Chicago and that was a pleasant component of this visit. The home is just as presented in the pictures and description. Quality Furniture, quality bedding towels everything that you would need. You will see wildlife like deer, hummingbird, and flowers everywhere. The beach is a short walk away. In addition The Host is willing to go over and Beyond to make your stay beautiful she's a warm-hearted loving woman. she also gives you your space for autonomy to do whatever you want to do. She takes pride in what she's doing and into the service that she's providing. I would recommend this property to anyone interested in relaxing in a country like atmosphere where by the end of your stay everyone will know your name.

  • Christa and her family go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and have every thing you need and if you find you do not have mustard ( which there was plenty) she'll give you hers! The place is immaculate, and very interesting. With antique furniture from Germany to japanese wall hangings. The beach was across the street and the kids had a ball! The islanders were sp friendly, even invited us to Thursday night square dancing! We had a great time doing that too! You will fond staying at Christa's will be an enjoyable vacation you and your loved ones will not soon forget. We hope to go back in a couple of years.

    Tracey2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Christa and Shelby were great hosts! Even before we arrived, she was very helpful in the planning of our stay and what to expect. Her home was perfect for 5 of us staying for 4 days. Each room has lots of character, comfort, cleanliness, and charm. The waterfront area has a couple of benches or chairs with a nice fire pit to relax around. A separate, enclosed patio area with amenities has a nice eating area with a fireplace. We spent an afternoon in this area playing games during a rainy day and occasionally watched the deer in the backyard. We met a few locals along the way that were very friendly and helpful with our plans of exploring the area. We dedicated one of our vacation days to stay on the island and had a terrific time being lazy around the house. We also drove around the island and spent time swimming at "the point (I believe it's called)." It's maybe a mile west from the store. Great place to jump off the dock and/or the island dock about 100ft out. Beautiful water to swim in!!! I strongly suggest spending more than one day to relax on the island. Overall, we had a fantastic time and definitely recommend this place to others. We hope to return for more great memories. In fact, we're thinking about turning this car around en route to Chicago!!! But we'll just be patient. Thanks you very much!

  • Our host was amazing; she was polite and welcoming. We felt at home right away. This is an amazing place to explore wild life, nature, swimming during the day and star gazing at night. We definitely want to go back.

  • We spent two nights in this amazing house on Bois Blanc Island. The experience is the both unique and wonderful. The hostess is the most welcoming and kind person who offered us lots of convenience and help, she tried best to let us feel living at our own home and finding anything we need. The house was amazing, not only beautiful on the outside but also surprised us with its elegant decoration. A private beach with clear water and beautiful lake scene is lying just front of the house. In general, amazing house amazing trip and amazing people we met here, surely will come back again someday! Highly recommend to all the visitors!

Scenic lodging on Bois Blanc Island in the Straits of Mackinac. This is the East Side rental at Old Orchard Lodge.
We are the longest running rental property on Bois Blanc Island. The Duplex and the Main Lodge have had a major makeover both on the outside and the inside. The Old Orchard Lodge, once known as the Hoffman Motel, has been in operation since the late 1950's. With the internet these days, we are now able to share our lovely family property with you.
The island has a small store which has limited food items and housing/personal essentials and a small gift shop area. They also serve ice cream and have food service available. They do accept debt/credit. THERE IS NO ATM ON THE ISLAND. There is also a bar/restaurant/store to the east of the property about a mile up the road. The beaches are right up the road in both directions from the property and they can be accessed throughout the day.

  • This house is fantastic for any family or group who wants an affordable and cozy place to stay that's close to Mackinac City or Island, some great bike paths, and downtown Cheboygan!!

  • Great house, so cute! We enjoyed our stay here!

    Kara2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to enjoy activities in and around Mackinaw City or go to the island, this is an ideal place to stay. It is somewhat secluded, yet there was not a long drive to the activities. The house was spacious with three bedrooms, just as indicated. She had coffee and tea available, as well as some things like loaves of bread and some other things if needed. The description on Airbnb is quite accurate and the communication is very good. Jennie answered my texts quickly and was always available for questions. If you stay there, we highly recommend the Jack Pine Lumberjack show, just a short drive from the house. It had the three children (11, 8, and 6) in stitches all evening. I recommend this home.

    Jana2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • This home is so lovely, inviting and can host a large group of people comfortably. We choose to stay here for the proximity to Mackinac Island, which indeed was an ideal proximity. The host is responsive and helpful, and we also appreciated her local restaurant recommendations. I would highly recommend this home!

    Marilyn2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved my stay at this Choboygan Cottage! Jennie is very warm and welcoming everything you need to know about the house and area she provides making for a smooth check in and stay. The cottage is beautiful it looks nice from the pictures but the space exceeeed my expectations. I felt so at home, safe, and relaxed. The setting is beautiful and peaceful. I took advantage of the jogging trail in front of the house, I felt like I was in my own personal park. Jennie provided us with coffee and tea which was so nice to wake up to as well as a night cap. My family and I enjoyed Netflix after our adventures in Mackinac, which is a very convenient drive from the cottage. We also took advantage of the cottages proximity to the dark sky park which was probably one of our favorite experiences during our stay. Which we would have not known about if it wasn't for our great host. I could go on and on about how cute and well appointed this cottage is but for brevity's sake I'll just say you will not be disappointed if you stay here.

  • Amy contacted us to make sure we had everything we needed. She was available to answer any questions throughout our stay. The home was just as listed no surprises.

    KAREN2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house, landscape and surrounding area makes my family feel real relaxed and cozy. It certainly feels like a vacation house. The pictures on airbnb does not do enough justice to the property. We use Airbnb quite often and are used to the "standard" experience and way of engagement with host. Amy goes above and beyond that through providing useful information and suggestion before, during and after our trip yet still leaving adequate space for us to enjoy the vacation. Will certainly consider using Amy's property again next time we are in the area for vacation.

    xiaoming2014-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Amys for a family summer vacation. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Very close to many northern Michigan destinations. We went to Petoskey, Mackinac Island, drove the tunnel of trees and had a great time. Thanks to Amy for letting us use your house.

    Patrick2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The home was just as described and how it looks in the pictures. It was very clean and very cozy. The location is a great jumping off point for the eastern UP and the whirlpool jet tub in the master bathroom was an awesome place to relax in the evenings. Highly recommend!

    Kurt2014-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amy was a welcoming hostess and thoughtfully contacted me in advance of my stay. The house was clean, comfortable, and spacious with all the amenities you need. The bicycles were a bonus! Location was peaceful and quiet, yet close enough to the Mackinaw and Cheboygan attractions. Overall, I would stay here again.

    Jenny 2015-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This house is really great, and I am very impressed by the way it is equipped and kept up. I have rented many houses over the years, and usually find that they are minimally equipped and just functional. This house is FULLY equipped, and I really do mean fully. I needed scissors - they were in a kitchen drawer, and they were not some crappy pair - they were of good quality. We needed a flashlight - it was there. Those kinds of things are not normal in a vacation rental, and that level of attention to detail really makes this a fantastic rental. The house itself is in good repair, and everything works as advertised. The beds are comfy, and the layout of the house is such that a family could have kids at one end and use the master as a place of solitude. Nice! We brought our 2 yorkies, and they enjoyed the fenced back yard. I would not hesitate to rent this place again.

    James2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our priorities in rentals are cleanliness, comfort and location. We experienced the epitome of all three and hope to return. The house lacks for nothing. The front and back porches are equally delightful. Furnishings are comfortable and the sheets are spectacular. This is one of the best rentals of the dozen or so in which I ave stayed.

    Karen2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amy's place is very nice, very clean and truly does have everything you could possibly need. If you have a dog and it is a larger playful one you will want to explore parks and such. We found a dog beach in Petoskey (Harbor Springs) that is perfect!! St Ignace has the Red, White and Blue park that you can also take your dog to for water and playing. You must visit Clyde's Drive-In for food while in St Ignace, best EVER! If she will have us, we would gladly stay again at Amy's place :)

This cozy cottage is romantic, full of charm and character. The owner is an artist and her attention to detail and creative flair are evident everywhere. There are beautiful Lake Huron views from every room. It is located 7 miles from Mackinaw City and 7 miles from Cheboygan. You’ll love this place because of the quaintness, the comfy bed, the coziness, and the views. It's is well suited for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and small families.
This lovingly maintained cottage is a family treasure! The owner acquired this property from her parents many years ago. They were both musicians (pianist and violinist) and the cottage was aptly named "Allegro". The owner recalls her father spending his evenings practicing his violin at the waters edge. Whether you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place to relax or a comfortable place to enjoy your loved ones or friends, this is the place. The views of Lake Huron, Mackinac Island and the Mackinac Bridge are spectacular. The cottage boasts large windows which allow not only the summer breezes off the Lake but impeccable views. The cottage comes well equipped and provides all the comforts of home. The kitchen is small but functional. The living room and dining area provide a carefree gathering place. The yard is spacious and there are plenty of shady trees for warm days. The cottage was remodeled by a Northern Michigan craftsman and the quality of his work is evident. There are wood plank floors and a beautifully designed kitchen and bathroom. The cottage is small but comfortable for 2-3 adults or 2 adults and up to 2 children.
The cottage is easy to find, located on US 23 halfway between Mackinaw City and Cheboygan. There are endless possibilities for activities in the area - shop, dine, golf, antiquing, para-sail, hike, swim, cycle, kayak/canoe, boating, fishing - the list goes on and on. There is a 62 mile bike trail across the street from the cottage so feel free to bring your bikes. Bring your own kayaks and canoes which can be launched from the beach.
  • My husband and I could not have picked a better location. The Allegro cottage is so cozy and relaxing it was difficult to leave and explore the area. It is a short drive to so many attractions, restaurants and shops. I loved the short walk down the yard to the lake shore and the views from the house are beautiful. We decided to stay in the area an extra day and our host Diane was happy to allow another night in the cottage. The trip to Northern Michigan was perfect.

    Tracy2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful little cottage that suited our vacation perfectly. It is located close to the sites and activities we wanted to visit, but far enough away to have a secluded feel. I would recommend the Allegro to anyone wanting a quiet retreat after a day spent taking in the sites of Northern Michigan.

Get away from it all to this cozy 2 bedroom/1 bath cottage in a wooded setting on Lake Huron. Swim at the private beach, kayak on the lake, hike in the woods, take walks along the sand, read on the deck, view sunsets and enjoy campfires on the beach. NOTE: THE COTTAGE IS ONLY RENTED OUT BY THE WEEK JULY 1 TO AUGUST 25---SATURDAY TO SATURDAY.
Here you can enjoy all of the comforts of home. The indoor ambiance is characterized by knotty pine paneling, ceramic tile flooring (kitchen & bathroom) selections of antique furniture, wood-burning fireplace, historical information and artifacts related to the area, games, books, and a binder with information about things to do and see nearby. There is a large deck overlooking the lake, which many guests consider a highlight of their stay. The walkway to the deck, the deck itself, and the steps from the deck to the beach have lighting to enhance ambiance and safety at night. Enjoy day trips to northern Michigan spots: 10 minute drive to Cheboygan, 25 minute drive to Mackinaw City (can catch a ferry to Mackinac Island), 45 minute drive to Petoskey or Harbor Springs. You can also take day trips to Upper Peninsula destinations.
On this road, there are homes and cottages on the lake side, and the opposite side of the road is all wooded. The driveway is long and the lot is very wooded, so the cottage and deck feel very private.
  • We loved our week long stay at the cottage! It was so peaceful and beautiful, and we had everything we needed for our stay. We loved hanging out on the dock, kayaking and wading in the lake, and collecting rocks....and of course the fire pit and stargazing were sublime! The cabin feels remote and rustic, but it is only about a 10 minute drive into town for groceries etc. We took a day trip over the Mackinac Bridge, and also just about a 1/2 hour drive to Mackinac City where we caught a ferry over to the island. Thank you for a wonderful vacation....we hope to be back next time we take a trip up north.

  • Jeanne's house is very nice and cosy ! Everything is perfect for whatever weather you will have ! Our weekend was a little bit chilly so we could use the fireplace and enjoy the beautiful and amazing sunset from the beach ! The view is wonderful . Thanks a lot Cindy for your help and kindness and help us last minute as you did I would definitely recommend this place for future trips up north , close to Mackinaw city and the ferries, or the bridge Thank you !

    Mathilde2015-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect tranquil spot on Lake Huron! Nice quiet dirt road leading to the cottage. They had thought of everything in the cottage, and on the beach front, for places to sit and relax with your group. Loved our stay, would definitely go back again.

    Meghan2014-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy's place was the perfect getaway! You can't beat the view, not to mention the perfect location. I will definitely be making a trip back soon!

    Kayleigh2016-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was gorgeous. Just steps outside the back door is the beach --- fully equipped with a hammock, chairs, and things to make a bonfire. Cindy and her husband made sure we were comfortable at the cottage, even calling to make sure we arrived safely. It's about a half hour drive to the ferry in Mackinaw City (to get to Mackinac Island) so the location isn't bad at all.

    Zahra2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Heaven on earth. The listing description actually doesn't do it justice. It was bigger in person than I thought, and very tricked out. I wasn't expecting the amazing old-school stereo! Cindy and her husband made us feel welcome by leaving a very nice voicemail the first day of our stay and they went above and beyond to help address one issue we had (that did not have to do with the cabin itself). If you are looking for a peaceful spot on a beautiful lake, look no further.

    Erin2015-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Showed up and everything either met or exceeded the expectations. First time staying at Airbnb, the whole group was impressed. Will definitely recommend this small cozy home for a getaway break!

    Timothy2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time staying here, and we already want to go back! It was exactly what we were looking for - secluded, peaceful, and beautiful. Come here to get away from it all, or bring your family and have fun in the outdoors. If it hadn't been so windy, we would have had a campfire on the beach and used the kayaks. It's just about a 15 minute drive to town if you need any supplies or food, and there are plenty of places to eat. We went to the island for a day and came back to a warm, inviting fireplace.

  • Hosts were very friendly and helpful with picking us up at the dock from our boat and bringing our things to the cabin. They were very communicative and attentive. When WiFi went out due to a storm for instance, it was back on quickly. It is very much an "up north" cabin, nice and quiet, everything you need but not a lot of frills. Lake is across the street and a short walk along a lighted path. You have your own beach as well as a large inflatable raft and access to their canoe. We only had our bikes for the first two days and were able to get around well. Mtn. Biking the island is beautiful.

  • Tom and Kitty are lovely people, very friendly and great hosts. Their cabin has a lot of character as it is a renovated barn. The circle drive is very nice, no tight spots to back out of and they have solar lights marking it which help in locating it in the dark. A rare bonus to this cabin is the large cleared lot where we spotted deer several times just grazing in the yard (the majority of the island is heavily wooded). The cabin is convieniently located near a restraunt, two churches, a bar and the ferry dock. There is beautiful beach access across the street with a picnic table and a mixture of sand and rocks. They also have a small lighthouse they turn on in the evening which gives you a great reference point to return to after watching the sunset via a kayak. This island is one of Michigans best kept secrets with 6 inland lakes and over 20 miles of shoreline. The clear blue water reminds me of the Carribian only without the sharks and salt water. You wont be dissappointed!

  • Tom and Kitty were fantastic hosts! Everything was as described, no surprises. Lovely path to the beach, crystal clear water with a majestic view. Full kitchen and laundry made staying here super convenient too. We had an amazing stay, would definitely do again :)

  • We had a wonderful stay by Tom and Kitty. They were always available, and brought us to the firework, shared with us their canoe... We enjoyed our private beach which was well equipped. We had nice barbecues and campfire in the garden. We really enjoyed their home which was perfect for our outdoor activities, made of bicycle rides, hikes, swims in a quiet and beautiful landscape, away from the mass tourism. The people on the island are very friendly and we really enjoyed this island life, away from the busy life of the continent. We will definitively recommend this address and this island to our friends. Thanks to Tom and Kitty for this nice stay !

  • Tom and Kitty are great hosts - they are super helpful, friendly, and careful not to "intrude". We had a great visit, and look forward to the next stay!

My place is close to Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, Cheboygan, Mackinac Bridge, St. Ignace, the beach, the airport, family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed, the kitchen, the coziness, and the views. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups.

  • I loved this place, with all the wilderness around. One of the most calm places I have been to. I had siteings of many different birds. Owner had kept all the resources required for a good stay. Would visit this place again.

  • Little Lems is a hidden gem. Secluded but not far away from the attractions the city has to offer. Recommend for a max of 4 people even though it could fit in 6.

  • Nice place. We had a great view and a good time.

  • Place was exactly how it was described. There is a nice fire pit right on the beach with a view of the bridge and island. The cabin was small, but can easily sleep 3 adults. Bathroom was small, but shower was nice. Everything seemed newly remodeled. Has the kitchen essentials: a fridge, freezer, microwave and coffee pot. Has linens as well. Great location as it is only an 8 minute drive to Mackinaw City.

Beautiful log home in the heart of the countries best snowmobile/bicycle trails, driveway crosses North Central State Trail giving access to all the trails in Northern MI. 3 bedrooms sleeps 7, Master with king bed, private bath, walk in closet. Large great room with beautiful stone fireplace. Fully equipped kitchen to enjoy family meals together around the large dining room table with extra seating at the bar. Enjoy nature from the log Sun Valley swing on the 50 ft long covered porch.
  • What a lovely log cabin in the woods! There was plenty of space for five people, the interior was clean and inviting, and we enjoyed the entire experience, especially meals and chatting around the fire at night. My one year old loved the porch swing, and we had a nice time walking around the property and to the nearby park after visiting Mackinac Island. Would love to stay again!

  • Donald's place was clean, comfortable, and large enough for our adult family of 7 to relax and enjoy the space. It was quiet and scenic, but within very close driving distance to Mackinac City and the ferry. This was our first time using airbnb and we were very happy with our experience!

  • Our group had a fantastic time at Donald and Monique's beautiful cabin. Great communication and hospitality. A little bit hard to find in secluded woods, the cabin provided a perfect get-away and is only 7 miles from Mackinaw City! The log cabin is so comfortable, inviting, and spacious and across the street from beautiful views of the lake. One member of our party who stays extensively at AirBNBs around the world remarked that this is the best airbnb she has ever stayed in! We all hope to be back if we find ourselves in the area!

Lem's Paradise is located on 5 acres and 330 feet of frontage on the shore of beautiful Lake Huron between Mackinaw City and Cheboygan, Michigan. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and comfortably sleeps 6.
The property is expansive, quiet, peaceful and private. The views of Mackinac Island and the Mackinac Bridge are incomparable. The house is 1800 sf, features a large fieldstone fireplace, hardwood floors, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a laundry room and a huge, well equipped kitchen. There is a delightful little sunroom off the kitchen that faces the lake. Enjoy your morning coffee or tea as well as a spectacular sunrise from the comfort of the deck. Feel free to bring your canoe or kayaks and put in right at the beach for a great day of paddling. There is also access to a 62 mile bike trail across the street from the cottage. The beach is rocky and typical of northern Michigan so we do recommend water shoes for swimming.
We love the privacy and solitude of the property but you are only a short drive too either Mackinaw City or Cheboygan. Mackinaw City has several ferry services to Mackinac Island and has plenty of things to do, places to eat and shop and museums & lighthouses to visit. The house is within an hour of Lake Superior, Taquamenon Falls, Saulte Ste Marie, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, St. Ignace and much more. It's a perfect base camp for all of your northern Michigan adventures.
  • Very nice place for a family or a large group. Really close to Mackinaw City . Overall, nice place to stay in Cheboygan.

  • Incredible! Awesome! We went for the memorial weekend and we enjoyed a lot the place! The house is located close the lake, giving a beautiful view especially at sunset. It's so easy to relax on the porch having some wine... The location is great, very close to the bridge, ideal to visit Mackinac Island. We did that and also we went to Pictured Rocks (about 3h from Diane's) stopping by Tahquamenon Falls (about 2h from Diane's). It's a little bit far from them, but totally worth it. For us it worked perfectly as we are from Detroit, and we wanted to visit Mackinack Island and Pictured Rocks. Being in Diane's was very convenient for arriving after work on Friday and driving back home on Monday. Diane took care of everything, when we arrived we had everything we needed, everything was very clean and in perfect conditions. I totally recommend Diane's house. Thank you very much Diane, sincerely! Eric

  • Stayed here for four nights on a family trip. There had plenty of room for five. The best part of this place is being away from crowds that Mackinac attracts. It is very quiet if you can ignore some road traffic now and then. There are other accommodations on the property so you might have company, but there is plenty of privacy. The weather was great and we made good use of the green space. Being right on Lake Huron was great! The beach is not sandy. It's more of a marsh, but we still managed to go for a swim. Just beware that the lake bottom is very rocky, but it is a glacial lake. Diane did a great job of providing everything we needed. We made good use of the charcoal grill and the kitchen. There was no Wi-Fi or cable, but that's not why you visit northern Michigan. There is a TV, DVD player, and a stereo. This is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. There are chipmunks, lots of birds especially blue jays, and we even saw a deer want through the yard. If we make it back to the area, we well definitely stay again.

  • This is a comfy, cozy retreat with easy access to Mackinac Island and the UP. The bed was comfortable and the unit was very clean. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and cared for. I enjoyed reading my book in a swing while listening and watching the waves. We also enjoyed the trail across the road.

  • Great location - we used it as a home base to visit Mackinac Island, Tahquamenon Falls, and Pictured Rocks. It was quiet, and we enjoyed the swing down by the lake. Be aware that there is no wifi, so if you're looking to unplug, this is the place for you! I didn't read the listing carefully enough, so it was a surprise when we arrived and had no wifi access (my own mistake). Luckily the cell service isn't too bad!

Owner was always prompt in answering questions, but effectively off-site - which was fine. I would definitely rent this spot again.

Wonderful Lake Front Cottage - sleeps 6-8. 3 Bedrooms/2 full baths, laundry room - fully equipped. Located on pristine Lake Huron with incredible views of Mackinac Bridge/ Island. We are offering great fall rates so book your fall getaway now!
This lovely family cottage is located on Lake Huron, 3 minutes south of Mackinaw City. Away from the hustle and bustle of town but close enough for a quick trip for your evening guilty pleasure of Mackinaw fudge or a fresh churned ice cream cone. Enjoy the incredible views of Mackinac Island, Bois Blanc Island and the Mackinac Bridge from the privacy and comfort of the spacious sun room. With seating for 10, it will be the focal point for your family gatherings. There is space for everyone and the room welcomes you to sit back and relax. Play a game of cards, or tell ghost stories - it's a perfect place to reconnect with your family or friends. The cottage was completely remodeled in 2010 - everything, including appliances, are new. The Mackinaw House is an opportunity to find peace, tranquility, joy and adventure. With a view of one of the world’s most beautiful bridges, and Mackinaw Island which is majestically set between Michigan’s Upper and Lower Peninsulas our home is a perfect vacation destination. Nestled in Northern Michigan, the Mackinaw House is a safe and charming location for your next visit to the shores of the Straits of Mackinac. The Mackinaw House is a two story structure with an interior decorated with family heirlooms and paneling made from native species of wood. The first floor is inviting and calming with one bed room, a mud room including a washer and dryer, a full kitchen and dining room, a small den, and a full bathroom. The Mackinaw House is a getaway, a true oasis away from the rat race, with stunning sunrises and a palette of colors at sunset. The second floor has a rustic feel with log walls in the family room, two bedrooms and a second bathroom. The walls in the bedrooms are a combination of light cheery colors and knotty pine wood. The family room has a television, couch, and an additional dining room table and hutch. There is a very small kitchenette in the back of the family room. The Mackinaw House was built with our own hands with the intention of creating a lake house with that “welcome home” feel. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. The beach is rocky so bring your water shoes.
They say “location is everything” and you won’t find a better location to enjoy all that Northern Michigan has to offer. If you are interested in star-gazing, the night sky over Lake Huron is beautiful. You can also drive 10 minutes to the Headlands - recently designated as a 'DARK SKY PRESERVE' - one of only 10 locations in the USA! This is given to a few special areas that are free of artificial light. The night sky is breathtakingly beautiful! In the winter, you can be on the slopes of Nubs Knob or Boyne Mountain in less than 30 minutes. If you prefer snow-shoeing or x-country skiing, the area offers the Headlands, Wilderness State Park or Mill Creek - all minutes away. The beautiful Mackinaw to Midland snowmobile/bike trail is easily accessed from the driveway of the cottage. Interested in a little more adventure? Try a dog-sled ride through the wilderness from a local musher! Also a great base-camp for hunters. In the spring, birdwatchers gather from all over the country to catch a glimpse of the incredible hawk migration. Lake Michigan,Historic Fort Michilimackinac and the Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse, the ferry docks to Mackinac Island - are all minutes away. In the fall, take the color tour through the “tunnel of trees” or enjoy spectacular scenery in the Upper Peninsula, an easy drive across the mighty Mackinac Bridge. There’s nothing quite like the sound of bugling elks during mating season at Pigeon River or the mysterious call of the loon on a quiet lake. It’s all here! Hunt, fish, hike, canoe, bike – you can do it all or you can just relax by the cozy fireplace with a good book. A vacation at the Mackinaw House is an opportunity for family fun. There is something for everyone where the waters of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron meet. The area is rich in natural beauty, history, and unique opportunities on Mackinaw Island; to visit a place that really is “somewhere in time.” Activities within a few miles include golf, hiking, guided tours, jet skiing, parasailing, bicycle paths, sightseeing, lake cruises, local cuisine, Fort Mackinac, horse- drawn carriage rides, historical treasures, state historic parks, butterfly conservatory, ferry boats, and much more… Activities within forty-five minutes or less of the house include downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snow mobile trails, the historic downtowns of Petoskey and Harbor Springs and all of the opportunities of music, entertainment, and culture available year – around in Northern Michigan. Mackinaw Getaways is now able to offer cottage accommodations to sleep up to 40 people. With many cottages to choose from, this is the perfect location for wedding parties, family reunions or other small gatherings. If you're planning a Mackinac Island wedding and need accommodations for your guests, we have the perfect solution. • This is a beautiful setting. More space than I expected. Beautiful wood----you can feel that the cottage is loved by the family. We had a good time---wrote in the guest book. Plenty of towels---and they were fluffy. We had a great time Was a little tricky trying to run and empty dishwasher before leaving at 10 am. We had a long drive home ahead of us.

  • The Mackinaw House provided a much needed place to escape and enjoy the outdoors. The view was really fantastic! We have typically spent time on Lake Michigan, which has sandy beaches, so we found the rocky bottom of the lake shore more challenging. A quick trip to town to get water shoes, however, and we had no problems. We were able to swim and use our kayaks. The house was more than enough space--we really loved the beautiful front porch, where we played games and enjoyed the view. The house was also nicely stocked with bedding, blankets, and everything one would need to cook (which was important to us because we ate most breakfasts and dinners here before heading out for our day). We appreciated having the two eating areas (one in the kitchen and another in the front finished porch). The only issue we had was a slight problem with the toilets, but the owners acknowledged the different system the house was on. We just didn't know the system would be that sensitive. That said, when we called about it, the hosts were extremely helpful and came out the same day as we called. We appreciated the quick attention to the issue! We had a great week and thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us!!

  • We enjoyed a wonderful stay, this was a beautiful house and every morning we drank coffee while watching the pretty view of Lake Huron. The fire pit was a plus, and we could not have been happier with our stay. Diane was quick to respond to any questions we had as well!

    Heather2014-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • There was so much potential here. The cottage looked nice with beautiful scenery right on Lake Huron. It's also very conveniently located to Mackinaw City. However, if you or anyone in your party suffers from asthma, breathing difficulties, mold allergies, or chemical sensitivities you should not stay here. We stayed early in the summer season and there was strong smell of pesticide (for spiders and other bugs) in the front room and the rear bedroom reeked of mold and mildew. It was difficult to sleep in the back bedroom because of this. We even found charcoal under the bed that was placed there to "fix" the problem. We tried to air out the front room from the pesticide, but only three windows had screens, so its effects were limited. Trying not to be difficult, we stuck it out for the week, so our kids wouldn't be disappointed. We told Diane at the end of the week and she was understanding. She wished we had told her sooner, but honestly, there wasn't much that could be done other than move to another cottage (which would have disrupted things even more). All in all, it was a lesson learned for everyone.

Mackinac Island Ferry boats are 3 miles away. The cottages are centrally located for day trips.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
Mackinaw Memories has been in the family since 1970. The cottages were constructed in the 40's. Plumbing and electrical has been updated but the view and feel of the cottages make you feel like you are stepping back in time.
Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island have been a "destination" for decades. What is special about our place is that it's on the water, quiet and like stepping back in time. It's not a big high rise hotel. You sit at the lake and watch freighters, ferry boats and gaze at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.
If you like peace, simplicity, kindness and a charming place on the shore of the lake Huron, Linda's little cottage is made for you. Our children loved to play in the lake on morning and evening. And a lot of beautiful birds: humming birds, mergansers, warblers, etc. Our hosts have received us perfectly well: flowers, coffee, cakes were awaiting us.

  • We truly had an amazing time staying at Linda's cabin-one for the memory book. Beginning the day with a cup of coffee on the swing by the water was unbeatable. We also instantly felt at home by her welcoming personality. We would 100% recommend, definitely not a cookie cutter hotel stay. Thanks Linda!

  • This cottage is right on the water and offers magnificent views of the water and Mackinaw Island. It is located very close to town yet at the same time feels secluded, cozy and quiet. Simply furnished but very comfortable and inviting.

  • Linda and Vince were great hosts - they gave us a bunch of tips about where to go and what to do. The cottage was exactly what we'd hoped - fantastic view, clean accommodations, updated bathroom. The location is perfect for those who like to bike. We rode into town every day on the trail, which is right across the road.

    travis2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • As long as you go in to your stay here expecting a rustic experience, you will not be disappointed!! This cabin is adorable and a real treasure *on the actual shores of Lake Huron*, easily accessible to Mackinaw City/Mackinac Island, the UP, and various other spots (we really enjoyed a day trip to Charlevoix!!) I would have enjoyed a little bit nicer finishes/linens/amenities inside the cabin but the location and waterfront VIEWS made up for it!

    Leigh2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • The location was perfect, close to the downtown area and far enough away to feel like we were really at our own little escape. The cottage was clean, simple and quaint. Close to the water which was beautiful! We enjoyed meeting their dog, Fumbles, who played well with our dog. Part of the reason we brought our dog was to go on daily adventures with us but we thought we would be able to keep him in the cottage in the evening, so he could rest while we went and got dinner, etc. We didn't realize that it was expected of us that we keep him with us at all times--to never leave him unattended. It put a bit of a damper on our evenings, as we had to have him with us no matter where we went. We made it work and had fun, but this is definitely something that should be passed along to those looking to stay in this cute cottage with their furry friends!

  • This is a great little private get away cottage. The view was picture perfect. Cottage is just feet from the lake. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the "love swing" viewing the lake. Location driving distance to many restaurants, attractions and close to Mackinaw Island Ferries. Great for two people.

  • We had a nice stay at the Cedar Gables cabin. It was old and charming. Updated electric. Access to a small sandy beach and fire pit. Close to downtown Mackinac City. We needed a place to rest at night and this was ideal for that need. Linda and Vince were very kind and welcoming. Cabin is close to main house but still private.

  • Kelly is a wonderful host, and the condo is wonderful! The bikes she loans you are perfect for getting around the island, and Kelly can also help with getting taxi rides to/from town! A perfect place to stay!

    Joyce2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We are frequent travellers to the island and this was the first time we did not stay on main street. We loved it. A peaceful place with a great sunset view from the balcony. Cleaner and nicer than most of the hotels. We deffinately would stay here again. Thanks Kelly!

  • My husband and I had such a fantastic time staying at this lovely condo! This is the first time we have visited Mackinac Island and opted to not stay downtown. We were very happy with this choice! We had a beautiful view from the condo but were still close enough to downtown that we could easily walk and bike there. Having bikes available to us at the condo was a huge convenience and cost-savings. I loved how the condo was so close to 2 great restaurants so you did not have to go into town for a great meal. Kelly responded to all of our questions quickly and made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this condo to anyone looking to experience the beauty of Mackinac Island slightly outside the craziness of downtown!

    Sarah2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great cleanliness of the room, very well decorated and great view. Best value on mackinac island.

  • My husband and I took our family to Mackinac Island for the night. Kelly's condo accommodated us perfectly! The sofa bed was really comfortable and the location of was away from all the hustle and bustle of downtown. We were able to take taxis (horse drawn carriages) to and from our condo to get where we needed to go. Kelly was excellent at communicating and was accommodating to all of our needs. I would definitely stay at Cedarwood again!

    Gabrielle2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • I recommend staying at any of Kelly and her husbands locations. They made me feel like family, helped me through the Whole trip, with everything, and the condo that we stayed in was clean, comfortable, modern, and beautiful. 10/10 experience and that's coming from a picky person thank you for everything guys I highly recommend!

    Trey2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Super comfy and clean! Kelly was awesome with responding to us on short notice, and the bikes she had available were the icing on the cake... A little far from town, which we didn't mind since it was a much less expensive alternative to the pricey hotels on main street! The view was beautiful, we definitely hope to stay again in the future :) Very happy!

    Alexandria2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place with a tremendous value. Kelly's place easily and comfortably fit my girlfriend and I without any trouble. Clean, spacious, comfortable and a great view of the lake. Kelly was super helpful checking us in and lending us her bikes for the weekend. I'd come back here in a heartbeat, my highest recommendation.

A cozy second floor room located just steps away from the Grand Hotel Woods restaurant/bar/golf course and The Inn at Stonecliffe. Enjoy the beautiful view of Lake Huron from the room's private deck.
The room is situated on the west bluff overlooking St. Ignace and the Straits of Mackinac. Located in a quiet wooded neighborhood, within walking distance from the Mackinac Island Airport and around 2 miles from the downtown area. The room is just steps to the Grand Hotel Woods Restaurant/Bar and The Inn at Stonecliffe.
  • This is a really nice unit with plenty of room, good views of the lake, and some nice extra's (like a fridge with a couple bottles of water, a Kurig with lots of coffee, and some cookies), Very tidy and Kelly was great to work with. About a 25 minute walk to the Grand and another 10 minutes downtown. Very reliable horse taxi service as well. Secluded but very close to 2 nice restaurants. Highly recommended!

  • Thinking of the day we can go back. Best ABA experience yet.

    Richard2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly's spot was fantastic, and so was she! We are so grateful to Kelly for being flexible with our check in time (we missed the ferry!) and for lending us bikes for our weekend. I was on Mackinac for business as a wedding photographer, and having the bikes made my day so much easier - and one less thing to worry about! I just wish I'd had more free time to enjoy the patio overlooking the straits.

    Katherine2017-07-03T00:00:00Z

  • Loved being a short distance from the action because the room was in the quiet woods. Great view of evening sky.

    Jeffrey2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great place out in a residential area of the island. It's a bit of a quite a hike to get out there, but not a problem at all- you just need to plan extra time. The room was great, everything as described. The bathroom has soap/shampoo and really soft towels. A huge bonus for us was that Kelly had some bikes available for us to use!!

    Kristin2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful condo located in a quiet wooded area about two miles out of the island town area. The condo is fresh and fully equipped and stocked as any leading hotel room. The hosts, Kelly and Scott, were wonderful and fully attentive to our needs and comfort. The location of the condo is a bit of a problem if you only have a couple of days on the island and expect to see a lot while you are there because travel to and from the condo to the town area and fort is primarily by horse-drawn carriage taxi and takes about 40 minutes each way. And, unfortunately the taxis are not always readily available, so there is time lost waiting. For younger guests, bicycles or walking are also options. The condo is ideal for longer stays because you can retreat to the freshness and quiet serenity of the northern woods to relax after a busy day. Two superb restaurants are located just a few feet away for evening dinners. The stars shine brightly in the northern sky at night. Overall, a superb place to stay.

  • This was a great place to accommodate our group of 6 comfortably. It had everything we needed- utensils, towels, even a keurig. The location is one of its best features being so close to the ferries and downtown Mackinaw City. Sarah was a great communicator and responded quickly to all texts and emails. The only room for improvement is the water pressure in the large bathroom was quite low and the mattress in the master bathroom sunk in the middle. Thank you again for a great experience!

  • We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Sarah's cabin. The house was very spacious and clean, well located just 5 minutes from downtown Mackinaw city. Sarah was very responsive when we needed a lighter to enjoy the fire pit - Highly recommended!

  • George's place is exactly as advertised and was perfect for us. We stayed in Mackinaw City for 2 nights at a motel and couple of weeks before our trip decided to book George's place to stay an extra night. The studio is simple and tidy. Bed was comfortable and the sitting area was huge, bigger than the photos make it look. The location is so convenient, we parked and then biked all over Mack City. It is extremely close to the Star Line dock #1, and walking distance to the other ferries and downtown. I would recommend this Airbnb and the next time we visit, I hope to book for our whole trip.

We were so happy about the cleanliness of the home and the details that Terry put into making it homey. The kitchen is large and there is lots of room to relax. The location directly in the middle of other hotels and restaurants is very convenient - walking distance to anything you need. We loved it and will recommend to our friends!

  • The cottage was wonderful. The description was very accurate and the location was even better than we expected. The inside of the cottage was very well done and looked recently updated. I stayed with my two sons and it was perfect for the three of us. We used the pull out couch and it was very comfy for this needing a third bed. • This place is beautiful! Very comfortable and very nicely appointed. Fantastic view of the lake and even a peek-a-boo view of the the bridge. Patrick was great at communicating with us. He let us know he was available if needed and made it all very easy. Quick to recommend restaurants and must do sights and events. Also, we flew on to Mackinac Island in a private plane and due to weather were unable to fly out on the day our reservation expired. Patrick adjusted some things with his next reservation and graciously allowed us to stay another night without having to secure another place (which wasn't going to be easy). We will highly recommend Patrick's place and would wholeheartedly give it 5 stars. Thanks Patrick!

    Alison2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick's place is a quiet little getaway, away from town and all the hustle and bustle--which we loved! The description and photos are all spot-on. We took our own bikes, which was a great way to get around, see what we wanted to see, and then retreat back to our quiet little room. Patrick was available to answer questions and was willing to help with whatever we needed. When we asked, he offered suggestions for restaurants and things to do. All in all, we thought it was great. If you're looking for something off the beaten path with a friendly host and just enough amenities to meet your needs, then this is your place.

  • Place is as described. Some may complain about the ubiquitous carpet and old time furnishings, but I enjoyed my stay. The only thing that would make it better is if the trees across the way weren't blocking the view of the bridge. (Or if the house was on the water's edge.) The residence is centrally located with everything less than 5 min drive away. Would stay again at the next opportunity.

You can shop, visit the historic Fort Michilimackinac or the McGulpin Point Lighthouse or the Old Mackinaw Point Light House. Take Sheplers Ferry to the beautiful Mackinac Island for a step back in time. Horse-drawn buggies and bikes are the only forms of transportation there! Lots of great shopping and fine restaurants. Access the many bike and snowmobile trails in the area. Visit Taquamenon Falls, Oswald Bear Ranch, Whitefish Point, Saulte Ste Marie, Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Indian River - all within an hour. Some of Michigan's finest sandy beaches are within minutes. If you enjoy casinos, there are 3 within 45 minutes! This is a great, year 'round destination. Fishing, bird watching, kayaking, hunting, snowmobiling, Eco-tours, boating, biking...the possibilities are endless!
  • Really enjoyed this quaint and authentic cottage!! Plenty of room for our family of five to spread out and have a little privacy, while providing a comfortable place for us to share our time together. We had beautiful views of the Mackinac Bridge, the Saturday night fireworks across the Straits, and beautiful Lake Michigan. The great central location allowed us to see many sites in this beautiful state and brought us back to a cozy home base. Highly recommended!!

  • The experience was good, Diane was a good host and the view of the lake was beautiful.

  • Overall, this was an incredible experience. Good value, awesome views, and a wonderful place to relax. I'm originally from Southwest Michigan and haven't been to the Mackinac-area since I was a kid, so I was looking forward to introducing it to my husband and spending some quality time with my parents. We skipped stones from the beach, played Jenga on the porch, and just relaxed in front of the stone fireplace. Windows open the whole time, lake breezes throughout the house, and nothing but the sound of waves lapping against the shore to put you to sleep. My Dad, especially, didn't want to leave. If you're looking for a reasonably-priced rustic Northern Michigan cabin that feels like home (plus some useful amenities - modern dishwasher, laundry, two clean bathrooms) with a fabulous view of the Mackinac Bridge, then I highly recommend Harding Cottage. I certainly hope to stay there again in the future!

  • My family stepped off the car with a "wow" at the location, right by the lake and with the view of the bridge. It is at a quite and cute neighbourhood, exactly where we wanted to be, given that I'm travelling with a family of aunts and uncle of some age.... It was a cozy house from the 1896(?) with a lot of antique pieces that just sparks your imagination of the old days. The fireplace was a plus, we enjoyed it on a cold day/night sitting in the living room. Amazing sunrise and sunset looking out from the back door. Diane was very accommodating making a special offer of 1-night stay for us as this cottage requires min. 3 days of stay. Thank you!! It was a great experience, my family posed for a photo at the back porch just like the old photo hung above the chest drawer in the living room. It was great!

  • We loved this house. It's impossible to describe the coziness of it, the views, the privacy from the surrounding homes, the antiques inside, the history as well as shared memories of previous house guests and the owners. This place has charm beyond words with all the necessary accommodations of our own home and the convenience of proximity to key points of interest in Mackinaw City easily walkable or reachable by bike. We felt like we were in the home of a family member with the beachside bonfires, available board games, videos, collections of beautiful stones and shells collected over the years. We added our own found treasures to some of theirs for future renters to feel the same feeling of belonging in this home.

  • We had a great Mackinaw experience at this cottage. It has views of the Straits and the Mackinac Bridge, while having many trees and bushes that provide a visual break from nearby cottages. The cottage is cozy--a very nice feel and multiple places to sit and relax. A full kitchen and even a washer/dryer. Very convenient to town. Just lovely.

  • Great location near Lake Michigan, fantastic place to catch beautiful sunsets!

  • This is a great vacation cottage, and we found it just as described. It has all the basics that we wanted for the week: -The kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, small electric range, pots & pans, dishes & silverware made it easy to have our breakfasts and a few other meals there at the cottage. -The modern spacious bathroom with shower was especially welcome after a summer day out & about. -The rustic living room and front porch with modern screened windows are both nice spots to sit, chat, and enjoy drinks in the evening. The location is excellent: just a few minutes from downtown Mackinaw City and the Mackinac Bridge. It was easy to get to local sites, to the ferries to Mackinac Island, and to cross the bridge to the Upper Peninsula. A short walk down the street leads to a public beach/access where we could sit and watch the beautiful sunsets over lake Michigan. Thank you Tonya for making this work so well. We do hope to be back.

  • We loved this little rustic cabin! It had everything we needed and the grandkids thought it was the best place ever!

  • This cabin had an uncomfortable amount of air fresheners (all types and brands) scattered throughout the rooms. The odor from these air fresheners was so strong it irritated our senses. We brought our own pillows and they smelled for two days after. The water comes out foggy, and looked a little brown. Probably clean enough, but we were not chancing it with our baby. There are no interior doors except to the bathroom, which causes some privacy issues for more than one guest. The owner was very responsive and polite, but the negatives were just too much for us. We decided to cut our trip short.

    Clayton2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Cute, old charmer of a cottage. Nice and clean with every thing you could need. The front porch was perfect for spending the evenings and listening to the waves. Great host and communication.

  • Very close to everything. The cottage was just the perfect size for 2 people. The public beach access within walking distance has an amazing view of the bridge.

Centrally located, downtown, bright, suite with bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchenette (toaster oven, microwave, electric frypan, mini fridge - not a full kitchen) within a heated solarium attached to my home. Private entrance around the back, winter access thru the garage. Laundry facilities available in the garage. Parking in driveway. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Fenced in backyard with fire pit. Solarium is full of plants. Beautiful front water view.
Lovely, plant-filled, private solarium suite, close to downtown, view of the bay from the front of the house.
Nice quiet location, walking distance to ferries to Mackinac Island, restaurants, boardwalk and shops.
  • The solarium is a pleasant and inviting greenhouse with some very nice plants. The backyard was great for dog and the bed was comfortable. Jill was very accommodating.

    Steven2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jill was an amazing host, especially for only being the second stay she has had as an airbnb. The 'apartment' is off the back of the garage with a private entrance which was ideal for myself and my therapy dog. The fenced in back yard was a bonus as well. Inside, there is plenty of room to make a meal or have coffee in the kitchenette area. The sofa was nice to lounge on at night while watching t.v. The bedroom was spacious & clean. Jill offered me breakfast and even greeted Bailey Sue with a good morning treat. This was a very relaxing getaway! (As a bonus you wake up to the lighthouse right out the front of the house and it is an amazing view in the morning)

    Brittany2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a cozy, peaceful spot to stay. I only stayed for one night but would have been happy to stay longer. The solarium was comfortable and filled with beautiful plants and Jill was incredibly hospitable!

    Sarah 2017-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The solarium is warm and inviting. Flowers light up the room on cold winter days. Great yard for dogs.

    Jacqueline2017-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. I was blown away by the beauty of this Solarium. Jill is an amazing host and treated us with incredible kindness. She even cooked us breakfast with a great view out her front window of the bay. The bed was incredibly cozy! Jill kept the temperature nice and warm for us. She also offered to start up a fire outside in the fire pit but we were too exhausted from our hiking to take her up on the offer. I strongly recommend staying here and will definitely be coming back.

    Kevin2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • I loved the stay at Jill’s solarium! Such a charming place - I was sad to leave! Jill was easy and quick to communicate with, and made sure all my needs were met. Would definitely recommend.

  • Amazing weekend. Went for a girls weekend away and had the most perfect time! Can’t wait to go back

    Hunter2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was the most awful place. She says pet friendly, but couldn't deal with my dogs barking from time to time during the day (not at night at all). The driveway is WAY to steep and not very big for a truck and trailer and no where near the trails. (We were snowmobiling) The first day we came back at 9pm, in bed by 10pm and that was WAY to late for her.(Saying we were coming and going all hours of the night) The second day she said she would let our dogs out and they barked at her, so she kicked us out by leaving us a note. She said we would get a refund but refused in the morning and threatened to call the police if we didn't leave. Finally got a refund. Shower was barely big enough for me and I'm 5'2 130lbs. The little love seat in the living room was terrible and the little kitchen had a toaster oven and hot plate. Tv did not work, neither did the wi-fi password. The place is not private as it is connected to her house and we both can hear everything from each other. If you NEVER make a sound and are in bed by 8pm then she might be happy, but don't bring any pets.

  • This place is fabulous. It is as described, and even better. The owner has provided every possible item you could need. I was not expecting to be able to see the lake from the house, but you definitely can. In the upstairs bedroom you can step out onto the balcony and hear the waves. It is only a few steps out to the fire pit area where everything you need for a bonfire is located. Too bad it was raining and cold while we were there :-) fortunately the heat in the house kept us warm and toasty. The bed was great as well. This is truly a five star property.
