  • Amazing place, highly recommend. Bill and Loreto are amazing. Far exceeded my expectations and had an amazing time.

  • We spent a quiet, peaceful night at the cabin. It was exactly as described but better than you can find the words for. We were warmed by the fire and enjoyed a fire outside as well after we walked around the woods. Bill kept in touch making sure we were warm and settled. Thank you again, Donna and Silke

  • Way overpriced for what you're getting. The second floor bedroom was full of large insects and the bathroom/kitchen is locked at night. The property is nice & the hosts were friendly but you could get more for your buck someplace else.

    Sarah2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing place to go for a nice quiet, romantic weekend. The property is absolutely beautiful and Bill was an amazing host. He was away for some of our stay, but still made sure we were comfortable and well cared for. Even though it rained we still had an incredible time and got to enjoy the wet weather from the porch. Rain, sunshine or snow this place is amazing!

  • Absolutely amazing. The cabin is very cozy and the property is beautiful. We would certainly stay here again, it exceeded our expectations.

    Meghan2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Relaxing, peaceful, unique property. The cabin is rustic with updated touches. The main house was utilized for the bathroom and kitchen. Everything was maintained and up-kept above and beyond our expectations. The pond and landscape was beautiful. There is a slight bit of traffic noise but you really don’t notice it while your enjoying the surroundings. Make sure to check out their other listings!

    Denise2018-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • There was the burning logs in the stove and else; the silence every once in a while. A bit of snow fell and the howling wind whirling around the cabin, when the silence was wandering among the trees. Two of us, mesmerized by the immaculate night scene of the log cabin on the 9 beside the sleeping pond. We already knew that there would be a return when it wakes. Thank you Tatiana and Bill.

  • It was a great experience and the cottage was adorable. We loved our stay and Mark was a great host! Would definitely highly recommend :)

    Chelsea2016-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Maureen and Mark, it was so nice meeting you and we really loved your place. It felt like our home away from home. I loved your welcome book, we got a lot of ideas and explored the city and outdoors. Thank you again!

    Lara2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Maureen were wonderful hosts! We loved their cottage - it was clean, cozy, and well stocked with everything we needed. The skylights were wonderful and provided nice, natural light throughout the cottage during the day. The bed was also very comfortable and clean. There was a parking space provided for us in the back which gave us very easy in and out private access to the cottage. We made good use of the very spacious refrigerator and kitchen utensils, as well as the toaster oven and the nice selection of teas. We were also able to walk around barefoot because of how clean the carpet and floors were, something we do not typically do in hotels - that made us feel very at home! Thanks again, Mark and Maureen!

    Jennifer2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful, quiet, and impeccably decorated little cottage smack dab in the middle of Hamilton. We loved walking to great local restaurants and bars, the very comfortable mattress, and being close to the Conference Centre where the meeting we were attending was being held. Everything about this stay was lovely and we would highly recommend!

    Meaghan2018-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Garden Cottage exceeded our expectations! The cottage is beautiful and spotlessly clean with a spacious bedroom and well-equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the outside sitting area and walking down to Locke St. for meals at the Bread Bar, Naromi and shopping for cheese at the Cheese Shop. Mark and Maureen were welcoming and thoughtful hosts; the attention to detail and Mark's background in the hotel industry make the Garden Cottage a perfect oasis in one of Hamilton's most interesting areas.

A cosy cabin for one or two is surrounded by 20 acres of wilderness next to the hamlet of Belfountain. This private park-like setting is perfect for a retreat, girls weekend, fly fishing excursion, hiking, snowshoeing, nature lovers, cycling destination, etc. Includes a kitchenette (toaster, microwave, coffee maker, kettle and bar fridge). Covered deck for lounging with a fine view of gardens and river. Two piece bathroom is in your cabin, shower is steps away in the main house.
The cabin provides a place of comfort, solitude and peace over looking the water. Electric fireplace indoors, chiminea fire pot and fire pit outdoors for guest use. Hiking trails at doorstep. Cafes, restaurants, Bruce Trail, cycling, skiing, shopping and scenic drive are all next door.
Caledon & The Headwaters Region The scenic countryside surrounding Belfountain makes it an ideal (and easy) drive from Toronto with beautiful scenery along the way. Hike the trails of the Forks of the Credit Provincial Park, part of the Niagara Escarpment biosphere. The historic Alton Mill set on the banks of Shaw’s Creek in the village of Alton. The building has been converted into an arts centre for resident studio artists, as well as a heritage museum and art gallery. When hunger hits, grab a bite at Heatherlea Cafe (their Reuben sandwich is made using house-cured and smoked pastrami and sauerkraut made from scratch). They also have a cafe and shop with local produce. Visit the Spirit Tree Estate Cidery, which offers tours on Saturdays and Sundays. Spirit Tree Estate produce a number of hard ciders. Try their Voyageur Scrumpy Cider which is infused with maple syrup and sumac. The cidery also has a bistro with hand-tossed wood fire pizzas on Friday and Saturday evenings.

    Thierry2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin itself is cute, comfortable and clean but the best part is the exceptional location. Both the immediate environs and the local Bel Fountain area are beautiful, interesting and worth exploring. We used it as a base for checking out Toronto but wished that we had planned in an extra day to hang out at the Bel Fountain cabin: swimming in the creek, reading in the garden, hiking one of the local trails, and trying some of the local restaurants.

    Sheila2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing stay at the cabin. Great location. Walking distance to Belfountain Conservation area. We enjoyed just sitting on the deck listening to the water. So relaxing. Our dogs had a great time as well. Ann was very friendly and helpful with tips for the area.

    Phill2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cozy little cabin on Anne & Steve's property. You can tell a lot of heart and attention was put into the details. Cabin was beautifully decorated with that rustic touch. Beds and pillows were very comfy. Having the 2pc bathroom was convenient (as we have stayed in other cabins before where you have to go to another building just to use the toilet) Taking showers in the main cabin were easy to arrange. Steve mentioned while we were there that they might put a shower in there too in the future which would be perfect. But no complaints ! All the amenities listed on the ad were there. Your main dishes, cutlery and napkins. We appreciated the keurig and coffee pods as we forgot ours! Cold refreshments were in the fridge for us when we arrived which was great because it was such a hot day. Air conditioning in the cabin definitely helped a lot. The cabin could maybe use one pot and one pan incase people who bring a camping stove forget theirs. A little bbq for the porch could be cool, but we brought our own :) Even though the cozy cabin is on the owner's property, their main cabin is set away, and it felt totally private and serene on our little lot. Nice quiet area with no road noise at all. Feels like you're away from it all. Loved seeing fireflies when we were lounging outside at night :) The property was very beautiful and immaculately maintained. Gorgeous gardens to walk through. You can hear the bubbling, rolling water in the river which was very relaxing. Even did some yoga on our private porch right in front of the river to relax. Very zen. We had a family of blue jays hanging around that must have a nest on the property :) you see lots of pretty birds. Loved using the chimney pot for campfires. Steve told us a little about the history of the area which we found very interesting. We went to a cafe, a restaurant, and a hiking trail during our stay, all were within a 10 min walk from the cabin. Quaint little area. Definitely recommend going to see the swing bridge and the fountain. Overall, loved staying here! Might need to come back in the fall.

  • Amazing place!!!

    Nicolle2018-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Words to describe this stay: "Hidden Gem!". While we knew the area well and expected the river-side stay would provide a wonderful location, what we didn't expect was the absolute coziness of the cabin. We were anticipating more of a rustic stay, and welcomed the discovery of this wee rental. The kitchen/bathroom/electric fire were great comforts of home. Bedding was lovely, cabin totally clean, quaint Canadiana decor, and we appreciated the small touches like a few things in the fridge, and access to internet. We booked with the intent of a couples night away from the kids, and it certainly met our hopes. That won't be our last stay! Heading home with our zen in place.

    Melissa2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ann’s place, as everyone else said, is wonderful. It’s as lovely as it look and is cozy, clean and has everything you need. Ann left us a bottle of wine to celebrate a birthday and left us teas, coffees and granola barres. Everything about the cabin just shows so much thoughfulness. There are trails right outside the cabin and we enjoyed our walks on them a lot! Saw a mink swim across the river, some crows and the feathery remnant of an animal’s successful catch of its dinner. The river is lovely to listen to as you fall asleep, there are board games available, such SOFT extra blankets, and Ann even left cleats to walk on ice, extra jackets and walking sticks, might we need them. Definitely recommend the place, in winter or summer. We will come back in the warmer days to experience the place in its greener season. Thank you Ann!

  • We absolutely loved our stay with Magda and Sam! It felt like home from the very first moments! And, yes, these 3 weeks that we spent at their cottage needed to feel like home for us because we were waiting for the closing day on the purchase of our new property in Guelph. Magda and Sam have sooooo... accomodating and hospitable. We had a lot of privacy, warm and cosy place to stay, very comfortable for just 2 of us. Plenty of hot water in the shower, fully equipped kitchen, no technical difficulties (all outlets, lights, internet working fine). I totally loved the bed! I tell'ya guys, we have traveled around the world quite a bit and many times we would stay in fancy, top notch hotels, but THIS BED.... competes well (and probably wins) with many, many of those in the hotels we had visited over the years. Perfect sleep on a perfect mattress, sheets were lovely to touch, perfect set of pillows (very important to me, I usually need special pillows). I say Magda and Sam do know what they are doing! The cottage was tastefully decorated, nicely lit. We had enough parking to accommodate our 2 cars. PLUS - because we were waiting for our own house at the time we needed space for our home place to stay as well... some of those "plants" were actually potted trees and bushes. Magda and Sam have provided space for them in their own house! Every day Magda would check if needed anything at all: fresh sheets and towels were offered, maple syrup, milk (including almond milk) herbal teas, coffee and what not... We saved a lot of money too! A suite in a hotel would have cost us $1700 MORE compared to what we've paid. That's a lot of dollars. In our opinion the fee is very reasonable and you really get your money's worth. During our stay were invited to participate in a FREE Beatles Harmony Workshop (Sam is a very talented, seasoned, professional musician). Well, finally the day has come and we were handed keys to our new home, it was time to leave Magda and Sam's. BUT, I'm thinking we will rent one day again, just for fun! Thank you Magda and Sam!

    Michele2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • It is a lovely cottage and setting...very peaceful and cozy. The tall wildflowers were still blooming and were visible through the tall windows in the siting room and bedroom. We had eggs, bagels, coffee and cream waiting for us in the refrigerator for our first morning. We had our first (and successful) experience with a coffee press. Magda is a charming hostess...because we were out a good part of the time we regretfully never did meet Sam. We highly recommended this place. Debbie and Tom Maine, U.S.

Fort plaisant.

    Jean2016-08-17T00:00:00Z

  • It was wonderful to stay at Omi's place! The cottage that we stayed in was so sweet, comfortable and filled with love. Hilda & her husband have created a beautiful property which is magical! There's a pool, hot tub and outdoor kitchen as well. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed our stay!! I'll definitely consider going again :)

    Laura2014-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Hilda and Rudy were very accommodating hosts with our arrival and departure times. We were planning around a bike wine tour in Niagara-on-the-lake and they responded very quickly to all of our messages. When we arrived we were greeted and immediately felt welcomed into their home. The Garden Shed was clean and cozy. We even had time to enjoy the hot tub too. Our breakfast was delicious! Hilda and Rudy are wonderful people with a beautiful B&B and we would gladly visit again!

    Melissa2015-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cute, quiet little place. Very relaxing, and perfect location or our needs. Hilda was a very conscientious host, always making sure we were all set, had everything we needed and were enjoying our weekend. Thank you, Hilda and Kerry, we really enjoyed our stay. Greg and Sue

  • We highly recommend the Omni house. If you are looking for a home away from home this is the place. You get a feel of a mini cottage with a homey garden area. The water fountain is calming and the location is near main Street. Thank you for a lovely stay :)

    Michelle2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we arrived - when were welcomed with a warm hug - until the last day of leaving everything was perfect. The garden shed was very clean and nicely heated when we arrived. After a long road trip, it was great to see that Hilda prepared a bottle of wine and delicious deli for some snacking. Also the breakfast was all you can hope for and even better - and by that I mean the food as well as the company of Hilda, Rudy and their two dogs. The garden shed is all you need for a nice getaway, and the hot tub is just fantastic after a long day of sightseeing. Overall, we had a wonderful stay with Hilda and Rudy and are looking forward coming back in summer time to also enjoy also the pool.

The Loftie is the perfect place to getaway and enjoy the tranquility of country life. Perfect for anyone looking to escape the city of TO in less than an hour, seeking a place to just talk and enjoy nature or anyone who needs a secluded spot for rest, relaxation and contemplation.
Our "Loftie" that was cut from genuine boreal forest and built by hand onsite. The main area of the bunkie is the size of a typical bedroom and includes a comfy chair, queen sized bed and writers desk. There is also a large Loft that's perfect for 2 kids or 1 adult to sleep in. The Setting is high atop a hill that has an amazing vantage point of the surrounding countryside. Just a 4 minute drive into the charming town of Erin, ON. We are situated approximately 20 minutes north of the 401.
We live in the country near a lovely little small town named Erin. We have no immediate neighbours other than forest and farmland.

  • We had an awesome two nights staying here! It was nice, quiet and honestly the perfect amount of space for a little weekend getaway. Everything looked exactly like they do in the photos. The bed is quite comfortable and even though there was still snow outside, the blankets and heaters kept us cozy. Everything is a little far from the property so driving is definitely needed. Would definitely consider staying again!

    Hilary2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to spend a few nights, the scenery is beautiful throughout the day. Everything in the loaftie is clean and well organized, very accommodating. Highly recommended, as i will surely come back.

  • David was super helpful with directions on how to find the Loftie, and overall communication was awesome. We enjoyed a nice campfire in the chiminea, and how tucked away the Loftie was. Great view in a nice quiet, private spot. Awesome hosts!

  • David was an exceptional host- fast and thorough communication. The cabin itself was everything I could have hoped for. It was a beautiful night with a perfect view of the stars and a cozy cleanly space~ simple and serene. We had a little fire in the morning with monarch butterflies dancing in the fields and a family of deers out in the distance. This truly was the perfect getaway from the city, and I will most definitely be visiting again and recommending to all friends and family.

Although the shared beach area across from the cottage is grassy, there are public sandy beach areas with children's play parks nearby. You may wish to visit the Belvedere Cookhouse which serves great food and great beer. There are also lots of other eating places around, as well as grocery stores and unusual gift shops. Great for pets, but dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
  • This place was great! Cute, but with enough room to relax or entertain, both inside and outside of the house. The cottage was very clean and well organized. We only used the main bedroom but the other can sleep up to 4 more people, which makes for a very affordable quiet getaway. The lake is right across the street with a private grassy area to picnic and lay around. The area is quiet and beautiful with laid back and kind neighbours. The only thing to know is that the tap water has a noticeable sulphur scent, so we stocked up on bottled water. It was an easy fix. We would absolutely stay here again.

  • Sheila and Pat made sure we had access to the cabin. It was lovely.

    Megan2016-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cozy little place with everything you need to be comfortable. Small waterfront access across the road, but for a sandy beach a trip to the nearby provincial park is necessary. It's a pretty busy year-round neighbourhood, so if you're looking for isolation this is not the right place. Both Sutton and Pefferlaw are very close.

    Michelle2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • A good location for quiet. The second bedroom that in the listing says sleeps 4, is small and the windows are sealed. Mobile data connection is slow!

    Mei2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyable stay! A quite cottage in a private community. We had the lake to ourselves most of the time. The water was crystal clear and warm. Cottage was clean and the great selection of videos as well as the chocolate mints were a terrific welcome and made us feel at home. A great place for a quite and relaxing stay for a family.

    Elena2015-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was beautiful and comfortable. The location was perfectly scenic and was a great escape from the city. A couple of the pots were dirty, but it wasn't a big deal because there was soap and sponges provided. All in all, it was a very lovely experience.

    Lia 2016-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila and Pat's cottage is cozy, private, comfortable, and clean. The pictures and description are bang on and everything was supplied, so no need to bring anything. Keep in mind the cottage has been painted blue- if you show up at night, you may drive past it several times like I did! I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a quiet weekend away from home.

    Alia & Zack2015-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was quite accurate to the posting - the cottage is a bit older, but it makes up for it in its charm. The couches are comfy, and the sunroom is beautiful. We enjoyed the quiet neighbourhood and the closeness of the lake. As others have mentioned, the queen bed was actually quite uncomfortable and very squeaky. Sheila mentioned she had recently changed the boxspring, so I recommended also changing the top mattress. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would recommend it!

  • Small, pretty cottage in a beautiful location. The river is stunning...we seen big fish in there. I would suggest bring extra pillows, blankets and some towels. The beds are the futons you see in the photos..a bit small for 2 but they have 2 futons in the cottage. Satellite tv and Wi-Fi worked fine when we there. Nice relaxing stay. Private check in was nice. No one bothers you here.

  • We came from Denver, Colorado and this was one of our favourite experiences of the entire trip. The cottage is absolutely enchanted! The scenery is fantastic and made us feel right at home. The host was very generous and friendly. We definitely recommend this place and will be back on our next trip to Canada!

    Lauren2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming and cozy cottage. Enjoyed our stay. It was nice being close to the river. If you’re bringing your dog they’ll have to be leashed since it’s also very close to a busy road.

  • A lovely cottage to disconnect from technology! We love using the fireplace to help keep us warm!

    Katie2018-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little cottage, very charming for a quick weekend out of the city. It rained both days that we were there but staying inside was extra cozy with the fireplace lit and the sound of the river through the back. Guests must be willing to sleep on a futon, and it isn't the most confortable. But everything was very clean, and the cottage is well stocked with eveything you could possibly need. We really enjoyed our stay!!!

    Jessica2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place with a beautiful creek running next to it. Close to lots of great hiking and nature. Cars from the road a little noisy and bed not very comfortable, otherwise, great!

    Miriam2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is really cute and truly looks enchanted. We can see with all the small details in the cottage that a lot of effort was put into it. Our stay was really relaxing and perfect for a romantic getaway. Although it rained the entire time we were there, it was fun to relax by the fireplace. I really hope to come back and definitely recommend!

  • Jill and Jeff's cabin in the woods was the perfect getaway for a relaxing and quiet New Years. The cabin was exactly as photographed, cozy, spotless and absolutely perfect. The nearby trails were great and the heavy snow fall made the views all the more scenic. The hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and we couldn't have asked for a better stay.

  • A weekend at Jill and Jeff's place surpassed our expectations in every way. Their place is absolutely amazing and has the perfect amount of privacy. It is cozy and very clean and beautifully maintained. Jeff and Jill were very accommodating and were excellent hosts and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We were lucky enough to have Jeff cook us breakfast and dinner for our entire stay and were blown away by every meal. If you are lucky enough to stay there, be sure to have Jeff cook for you at least one meal. Needless to say we cannot wait to go back again! It was an absolute pleasure (Website hidden by Airbnb)

  • From the moment we got to Jill and Jeff's cabin we knew we'd picked the right place. The cabin was clean, spacious, yet cosy and we felt so welcome on their property. Jill's yoga classes were so awesome. With all the windows and doors open and the breeze coming into the studio, I truly was able to connect with the outdoors. Jeff's cooking is to die for. He had a sense for when we needed a little pick-me-up after a long hike or a swim in the pool! The falls just down the road were beautiful as well. I felt like I was somewhere tropical! The waters were safe to swim/wade in and they were quite secluded. We LOVED our escape to the cabin and can't wait to go back!!

  • We had an incredible weekend at Jill and Jeff's cabin. Everything was exactly as we had imagined, and as a matter of fact much better. There were so many thoughtful touches throughout the places that we appreciated, from the fire that was already going and warm to greet us when we arrived, right down to the little things that perhaps not everyone notices, but we definitely appreciated- like a new dish sponge that was left in the kitchen. Thank you guys again for such a wonderful weekend away, we can't wait to come back!

  • If you have been lucky enough to stumble upon this place, book it right away. You can thank me later. :) My wife and I don't get the chance to get away together very often so when we do, we make every effort to make it as enjoyable as possible. Jill & Jeff exceeded my very high expectations for our stay. The property is stunning and offers something for everyone. Enjoy a drink poolside, go for a short hike through the forest, go for a more challenging hike to see the falls, relax inside a beautifully decorated home, enjoy a centering yoga class catered to your level and preference by a very thoughtful and experienced instructor, and/or have a wonderfully talented chef take you through a one-on-one cooking class only to have a 5-star meal then prepared and served to you in your private cabin. There are just too many things to list and we were only there for one weekend. Jill & Jeff have created an incredible paradise and have opened their doors for others to come and enjoy this beautiful space. Again, if you are reading this right now, book this place right away and pass on the good word to your friends and family. They'll thank you later. :)

  • We had a wonderful weekend getaway at Jeff and Jills place. There were lots of things to do. We went for a hike, enjoyed time by the fire, and visited the Adamo winery (just a short drive away!). There is a small room of the bedroom with windows and a couch, which was a lovely surprise - I spent hours in there reading and listening to the rain pitter-pattering on the roof. This was a great getaway from the city and we plan on returning!

    Rachael2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jill and Jeff are wonderful and so is their place. Everything is exactly as described and we could not have been happier with our stay. It's private, clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a short weekend getaway. Would 100% stay here again.

Romantic/Artistic retreat. Suitable for couples, business travelers and lone wolves Less than an hour from Toronto, this cottage / studio is located in the beautiful village of Belfountain, nestled in the Caledon Hills. Artsy or not, you will enjoy the creative atmosphere and spectacular surroundings. .
This one hundred year old cabin (no basement) doubles as my studio, and is located right in the village. It is a nice place to get creative, whether it be with your partner or for work, and the surroundings are spectacular throughout the year.. It is equipped with a kitchenette and shower, and the garden offers a private space in which to dine or just relax. The steep stairs lead to a loft with a super comfortable king sized bed. I supply the Netflix, you supply the chill :) Please note that in the colder weather the cabin is primarily heated with a wood stove.
The Neighbourhood Belfountain. It's small, but it has quality content. At the three corners you will find two 'coffee shops'. They are open early and have fancy choices and yummy treats. There are a couple of other shops, and ice cream's abound (in the summer). Also check out the Belfountain Inn (around the corner) for fine dining that you can walk back from. The provincial park is spectacular (with a waterfall, a 1900's party cave and suspension bridge) and well worth the small fee they charge to get in. It has trails that loop but also trails that meet up with the Bruce trail. If you want to access the Bruce trail without going into the park, turn onto Caledon Mountain road just south of Belfountain, before the cemetery, go to the end of the road and park by the fence. You will see signs and blazes that will lead you to the edge of the Niagara escarpment, a beautiful view and a fantastic hike. South of Belfountain, east along Old Base Line you will find the famous 'badlands', a cool photo opportunity. (unfortunately they got too famous, so you are no longer allowed to walk on them) and just south of there (on Boston Mill rd) is the Spirit Tree Estate Cidery which is a nice place for lunch and a good place to get different kinds of yummy treats. The Caledon rail trail is a fantastic bike (and cross country ski) trail that can be accessed from any of the roads it crosses around here. The closest is up Shaws Creek Road (the next rd west of here) north about a km. Erin is the closest town with a grocery store, Timmy's, LCBO and Beer store. It is 6 km away. Turn left at the stop sign and follow Bush street all the way to the end where it bends into Erin. There are also some beautiful stores there for other kinds of shopping, a legendary bakery, a chocolate shop and a bistro at the end of the main st. Alton is a funky town you might like to check out. (ten mins north of here on 136) It has the Alton Mill which is full of artist run galleries and one of the best restaurants around, called Ray's Third Generation. If you like Japanese food, Inaka in Caledon is excellent. They have sit in and take out. Orangeville is a twenty minute drive north of here and it has more than it's fair share of excellent restaurants. The Bluebird is one of the most famous for it's excellent food and reasonable prices. If you like steak, check out Steak 63. Forage is about seasonal entrees , Rustik is modern dining with local ingredients , Soulyve is Caribbean dining , The Barley Vine Rail is a 'Canadian eatery with music and craft beer' and the list goes on. For breakfast check out Judy's In Erin :) Reservations for all the restaurants are highly recommended. If you are leaving here on a Summer Sunday and you are looking for something cool to do, check out the Aberfoyle Antique Market. It's a 45 minute drive through the country and well worth the destination if you like antique and 'fun-stuff' shopping. When you are ready to head home from there you will be two minutes from the 401. Have fun :)
  • This is a wonderfully charming place to stay with a romantic partner or as a loan ranger looking for inspiration. Highly recommend. The area is darling and so are the people. Thanks Cindy!

  • Very cute, rustic spot in the heart of Belfountain. The indoor fireplace was great for a bit of a chilly day, along with tea and hot chocolate. The bed was extremely comfortable, we slept like logs. The living room sofa is also so comfortable! A short walk away is a really yummy restaurant on the fancier end, the Belfountain Inn. We enjoyed our stay and Cindy was very helpful and gave us lots of suggestions for things to do - wish we had more time to do some more of the things (trails, restaurants, etc).

Open concept cottage , with a loft with bunk beds. Small area with double hot plate , microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker , small fridge , BBQ on the porch. Swimming pond Vegetable garden and honey bees. Beautiful wooded trail No smoking Kids are welcome
We are five minutes to hockley store. And fifteen minutes to the resort. The cottage was built with parts of an old church. Wide pine boards. We are surrounded with trails. We have swimming pond And has fresh spring water running through it. It also freezes for winter skating. Our water is drinkable. It's spring fed well water. We are 25 minutes to orangeville. 20 minutes to Alliston, where you would find one of the oldest Movie Theatre around (circle theatre). Also for the adventurous ones..... there is a flying club near by which offers gliding, my personal favourite, called great lakes gliding club. Amazing service and much fun.
This is where you go to find beauty. No noise or light pollution. Your cell phone will barely work. So no reason to bring work with you. Tell everyone one you are off the grid and unreachable for a few days. Tell them you are actually going to give your well-being a boost.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at this charming and unique little guest house. Full of character, simple, clean, and pretty. Fere, Steve, Lily, Noah, and, of course, Odie, were all lovely and helpful. Fere's special touches did not go unnoticed...fresh mint on the kitchen windowsill, a bowl of crisp apples, and special handmade treats for our dog, Daisy. The setting is picturesque and quiet and we really loved the little swimming pond. Butterflies and birds surrounded us on all of our walks through the property's trails. The location is perfectly situated near wonderful farm markets and scenic drives. Just a 3-day stay felt like a true restful vacation. Highly recommended!

  • Molly’s place was great. The bed was super comfy and the cabin was very cozy and cute. Everything that you could need while staying there was available to you. My boyfriend and I unfortunately had to leave early due to a family emergency but I wish we could have stayed days longer! I will definitely be returning to Molly’s place in the future

  • Molly’s place is exactly as shown. Everything you could need for a short or even an extended stay! The kitchen has everything you need from cookware, utensils, dish ware and even a full assortment of spices! Everything was in good working order, and clean and tidy. The cottage was cool when we arrived, but the furnace was quick to bring it up to a good temperature. Great spot for people who enjoy hiking or biking as lots of trails nearby. Quick drive into Creemore for restaurants and bakeries. Molly was a great host and very quick to respond to any of our questions.

  • Aleksandra was great to us, we ended up getting in a bad car accident and had to let her know we needed to check out early because of it, she was immediately very caring and offered to help in any way she could. Was above and beyond what I'd expect from a host. Nice cottage in a private area, 20 minute drive to the city if you need to go out

Welcome to Aisy Cottage. Aisy is archaic for easy which perfectly describes the quiet restful atmosphere of this quaint cottage. Casual and comfortable. An affordable cottage experience conveniently located in Belle Ewart, Innisfil. Excellent for children of all ages and we love our furry friends. Sorry folks, no satellite but then again, you'll be too busy at the lake! WiFi and T.V. with an assortment of DVD's and popcorn supplied, of course!
This is such a great location for young families or couples. We are the fourth house up from a small public beach and the cottage backs onto a small park with swings, and a covered sitting area. We have outdoor seating for 6 and a fire pit. We provide a small charcoal bbq. Attractions to the area include Sunset Raceway - Saturday nights (excellent buffet). Monto Reno Marina which has a lovely outdoor cafe and will rent boats. Innisfil Public Beach, Georgian Downs Casino and Horse Racing, Antique Roadshow and 400 Flea Market and much more.
Small quiet village setting but 10 minutes will take you into Innisfil which has become quite the bustling community.
  • Chalet très propre et bien aménager, bonne emplacement (calme, près de la baie, d'un parc pour enfant et d'un terrain de basket ball). Nous avons adorer notre expérience merci beaucoup.

  • Cute and quiet little cottage, a nice getaway place to just relax for a few days. Kitchen was really well stocked, which was nice since my boyfriend and I cooked most of our meals. There's a little beach area at the end of the road, and bigger beaches a short drive away. Ideal space for us

  • Alex and I stayed at the Silverback Cottage for two nights with the plan to go for dinner at The Restaurant at Pearl Morissette which is about a 10 min drive away. It was a perfect birthday weekend! The cottage is spotless and so well appointed with great amenities/toiletries. Little things like local maps, suggestions for dining in “The Bucket List” were wonderful. The loft bedroom is relaxing, tranquil and comfortable. Nothing made us happier than making coffees in the morning with the provided keurig machine and capsules. Keyless entry was efficient and simple. We loved taking the vintage bikes for a spin and visited Red Stone and Malivoire vineyards which were about 5km ride away. Perfect weekend away! We will definitely be coming back... and we are picky.

  • Great location. Close to wineries and everything you need, yet very quiet. Cottage should be part of a HGTV show! Stylish, quaint, thoughtful and overall awesome. Will come back for sure.

Our little cabin is now closed permanently. Thank you to all the wonderful people we have met and hosted over the years. It has been an amazing adventure. While we end this chapter - we begin another. Stay tuned. We will keep you posted.
We do live on the property and are available for directions and advice, but your privacy and comfort are our first concern. Our property is tucked away in a mature hardwood forest. The only distractions are the singing of birds, the scratching of squirrels, the splash of rainfall on a tin roof, the whoop of the steam train whistle from Tottenham, and on weekdays the squeal of the kids at recess in the schoolyard up the way. There is no public transport to our property. The cabin is heated primarily by woodstoves ( we include firewood in the rental) . There are electric heaters for emergency use - but we expect our guests to embrace the more pioneer spirit the cabin inspires. Lessons included free of charge. When it snows ( and it will) we're happy to lend snowshoes to the intrepid. The forest is a wonder in all seasons and will refresh even the most weary spirit. Please note - there is NO INTERNET access unless you can tag in via your cell phone. No cable or satellite tv. It's a cabin. Adults only. Please see House Rules for other conditions.

  • Myself, my fiancé and our dog came for a few nights to the cabin in the woods. We all had wonderful experience…especially our dog! He learned to swim for the first time in their pond and ran around the beautiful property and winding trails all day. We loved the atmosphere of the cabin and appreciated that the hosts had everything we forgot to bring (cheese grater, tin foil, etc.). The hosts were very welcoming and the homemade cookies they left for us were delicious. All in all, a wonderful weekend away. We hope to come back in the winter! Thank you!

    Megan2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • My stay was phenomenal! Janet and Booth were superb hosts and have thought of every little detail to make one feel welcome. The cabin is so beautiful and cozy. I loved all the candles and lighting options and the wood burning stoves (pre-lit to warm the place for me!) that all contributed to the relaxing atmosphere. The property and woods are magical and my stay was soothing for the soul. I only had the pleasure of a quick visit with the Doood but he was very sweet and I look forward to some trail walks on my next visit. I will be back and I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a rejuvenating retreat. Thank you Booth and Janet!

    Randell2015-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Booth and Janet made us feel right at home, from the moment we walked in we were practically in awe from the stunning look of the cabin, to it's surroundings, and the amazing views. The tour of everything was great and the cookies were delicious. It's not very often that you can completely escape the hustle and bustle of city life but this was the answer to all of that. We had a lovely time enjoying the serene quiet of the woods, and exploring the property. We're so thankful for the time we spent at the Cabin, and we really hope to return for another trip. What a perfect place for a getaway. Thank You again to you both for your lovely hospitality!

  • Such a great cabin. Was perfect for 'getting away from it all'. Already miss it. The host was great and helpful. The dog is awesome and comes with you on hikes!

  • Bh were perfect hosts! I was given a tour when I first arrived and they gave me privacy throughout my week long stay. The photos of the cabin and property are beautiful, but seeing it in person was even better! The cabin interior is cozy and bright and has everything you need, from kitchen essentials, to throw blankets in the living room, luxurious house coats and sleeping masks. They really have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable and peaceful as possible. Bh allows guests to roam the forests and fields on their property which have hiking paths, picnic tables, swings hanging from trees and a small pond. The short walk to the top of the hill is an especially beautiful place to reflect and practice meditation. If ever you need assistance from the hosts, they are a short walk away and are very accommodating and helpful. This 'Cabin in the forest' was a perfect little getaway and the best place to have my writing retreat. Highly recommended!

  • Great place very secluded just what we needed. Booth was a great host and was very easy to communicate with. Would recommend!

  • Stayed April 18-22, arrived and Booth got us settled in...cookies waiting. Shortly after the Doood met us all as well. Beautiful setting and nice and close to everything. We had all that we neede and Booth more than happy to help with anything. Great walks and wonderful evening sit down on a hill top bench overlooking some of the property were perfect. Weather could have been better, wind, rain/snow mix really made us appreciate the wood stove!

Cozy cabin with kitchen, living area, two full beds and futon. Directly across the street from Innisfil Park beaches and Lake Simcoe. Walk to all amenities, 20 minutes to Barrie, 50 minutes to Toronto. Enjoy boating, fishing, swimming, strolling or just relaxing! We call this the leaning cabin of Innisfil -- the floor has a distinct slant to it, but most don't mind at all!
The cabin is located in the Alcona section of town Town of Innisfil. Alcona is a friendly and close knit beach community that offers all the advantage of being at the beach and beautiful Lake Simcoe, along with the benefits of having grocery stores, coffee shops, a liquor store, lunch and breakfast places all close-by. You can even enjoy drop-in yoga sessions right on the beach directly across the street from the cabin every Sunday morning @ 9am through to early November! Being so close to the lake and park means opportunities to enjoy nature and your surroundings year-round. While summer brings crowds of sun-worshipping families, October brings a quiet time for meditation and walks along a gorgeous lake, surrounded by fall colours. Winter brings another influx of adventurers who love to spend weekends ice fishing, skiing or snowmobiling, while the spring brings cyclists, walkers and joggers ready to stretch their limbs after a long winter. The best part about this place is that it is conveniently nestled in an incredible region known as Simcoe County. Simcoe County is a wonderful place to explore year-round. In summer there are the exquisite lakes, of course, and you can find beaches in Innisfil Beach Park, along Barrie's waterfront, or you can venture further to explore Balm or Wasaga Beaches, for example. The county is dotted with great fishing spots and you can rent a fishing boat or pontoon within ten minutes of the cabin. Simcoe county is also a great agricultural hub, with a vast array of farmer's markets and every kind of farm from honey producers to organic apple orchards. Golfers have their pick of pristine courses throughout the area, including Innisbrook Golf Course, Big Bay Point and Innisfil Creek Golf Club. If you enjoy fast cars you can check out the Sunset Speedway, you can dune buggy or mini golf at Shanty Bay or go hot air ballooning with the Barrie Flying Club! Even as fall approaches, you can rent a bicycle or other all terrain vehicle to enjoy the sights -- on your own or as part of a guided tour. You can ride an antique steam train in Tottenham, go for a scenic horseback ride or have fun with the whole family at Chappell Farms' annual fall festival. You can explore the Scenic Caves at Blue Mountain or go Treetop Trekking in Snow Valley. In winter there are plenty of places to ski, snowboard or snow-tube, including: Snow Valley; Horseshoe Valley; Mount St. Louis Moonstone or Blue Mountain. You can go dog sledding at Wind Drift Kennel or snowmobiling along our numerous groomed trails all across the region. Ice fishing is an increasingly popular sport, and you'll have prime access to the frozen lake just steps from the cabin. This is just a taste of what our area has to offer. Come on out and see for yourself!

    Lisa2018-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • This place is not on the water and is located beside two other cabins and the main house. It is not private and it is not as “quaint” as the photo would have led me to believe. $65 is an appropriate price, but when you tack a $50 cleaning fee on top the price is very high for what you get.

    Gillian2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic experience! The cabin was very clean and cozy and was located only a few steps from the beach. Great place for relaxing / swimming / water activities!

    Bojan2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Quirky cabin, steps from the lake....Which is beautiful! Cabin Needs some updating. Kitchen had everything you needed to cook meals but the cooker was very outdated and half of the hob rings didn’t work and the oven took an age to cook anything! Clean apart from the spiders (easily dealt with! ) and the mouse!! If you’re used to camping/caravan holidays it’s great!

  • My husband, sister and I enjoyed swimming and walking on the beaches, which are less than a minute walk away from the cottage, on a paved path. Water is clear, and getting into the water is easy on the nice sandy beaches. It's a popular area, and we enjoyed the busy, happy recreational vibe; Alessandra was very nice, and honored my request for a fan. I would be happy to return.

    Lucia2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Right across from the beach and a great children's playground. Kids loved finding shells and playing in the water. The cabin is basic - as advertised, so no surprises - very good for a family vacation. We would consider coming back.

Our favorite spot is relaxing on the porch and enjoying the nature, a bit of sunshine and a good cup of coffee. Bring your own favourite coffee as there is a drip coffee machine at the cottage. There was also some ground coffee in the cupboard for those not too particular. In short, we really enjoyed our stay.

  • It is a great place to stay. It is not far from the falls and it close to other restaurants and things to do.

  • My wife and I came to the Cottage for a much-needed weekend away and to celebrate our anniversary. We had a great time. The cottage is very well-kept and clean, it is stocked with the essentials, it has a kitchen that we used to cook great breakfasts, and Peter was a great host. We didn't meet in person, but he accommodated our late check-in, left us some goodies as a surprise, and was very easy to get ahold of for questions. I would recommend it, and we would come back!

    Caleb2018-04-02T00:00:00Z

  • Cute little cottage, secluded and overlooking the pond and forest. And the bed was super comfy!

    Daniel2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Merlot cottage was a wonderful stay and we would absolutely go back! The king sized bed was so comfortable and the flickering candles added such charm. Sitting on the deck looking at the trees in the rocking Adirondack chairs drinking coffee was the perfect way to start each day. Though it wasn't as far into the woods as we expected, it was the cabin in the woods experience. The inconsistent satellite television and the wifi only being available at the main house created more opportunities for us to focus on each other. The cabin is quiet inside and though the cars did not bother us, we had a visitor in the middle of the night who ate a bit of our candy bar. The host Peter (and his employees) really made the experience for us. He was quick to get us coffee cups from the main house. He was also very helpful in getting us jumper cables for our car (which I drained the battery). He spent a good amount of time talking with us and telling us about the property and his business. He was also nice enough to recommend a restaurant and attractions for us to visit. We also enjoyed entering the cottage to the awaiting bottle of wine. We were looking for a place to lay low for a couple of days after our wedding. The Merlot cottage gave us that opportunity to relax. All in all though, it was exactly as we thought, and we would go back anytime.

  • Thanks to Brian for allowing us to stay during an ongoing renovation. Brian's cottage is very beautiful and nestled in a gorgeous and tranquil garden. The cottage is new, and has lots of light. The location is excellent and one can walk to all amenities. We are grateful also, that he allows pets, which made a big difference to us. Brian was a gracious host. Thank you, Denise and Paul

  • It is difficult to imagine a more satisfying weekend vacation than the one we just experienced in Brian's cottage in Toronto's Leslieville neighborhood. The cottage is a renovated garage that looks like something out of a storybook: It's clean, cozy, comfortable, imaginatively designed and tastefully decorated. Its shady patio and fish pond are a huge plus. Staying there, you forget you are in the middle of a bustling big city. We constantly expressed amazement at our good luck in finding such a unique place to stay in Canada's biggest city. The neighborhood is clearly gentrifying yet features a multi-ethnic population -- just like Toronto -- and a large number of interesting stores, restaurants and bars. The streets are filled with mature trees and fascinating residential architecture, not to mention widespread renovation. There are streetcars short walks away on Gerrard Street East and Queen Street East that will take you downtown or to subways in less than 30 minutes. The Beer Store and LCBO wine and spirits store are nearby, if you have any last-minute needs. Brian and Rene were perfect hosts: welcoming, friendly, helpful and discreet. Their cottage is perfect for one person or couples, and we can't wait to return.

  • Brian's beautiful garden cottage is a labour of love, filled with sunlight in the morning and sheltered by the trees at night. Heated floors, cozy bed, a little breakfast nook by the window - felt like a vacation in the city. Thank you for the warm welcome, I will recommend this space to any and all!

    Emilie2018-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Friendly. Attentive. Clean. Great place!

    Todd2016-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a real gem in a great neighbourhood. I will try and stay here every trip I make to Toronto. The cottage is private and set in a garden oasis. Brian and Rene were great hosts and very welcoming. I can't recommend this place enough!

    Dino2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space. We had an extended stay in the space, and found the mini-fridge and stovetop to be quite handy. Brian and Rene were very friendly! The neighbourhood is super nice as well, and it's situated right near Gerrard streetcar, or a short walk down to Queen. We don't have anything else much to say except, fantastic.

    Shane2015-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really great time staying at this place. Brian and Rene are great and super-friendly hosts. The accommodation is very comfortable, surrounded by a beautiful and lush garden. Parking was provided by hosts for a very reasonable charge. The studio itself is very cute and has all the stuff one can possible need for a short stay. It is compact, but very well organized. I have been travelling with my husband and our 2 pugs and everyone had enough space. The neighbourhood is very nice, safe and very green. As far as I understand Leslieville is rapidly gentrifying, so it has a small shopping area, some local coffee shops, some restaurants and a pub, a couple of bank outlets as well if you happen to need cash. In a very close proximity to the Beaches. Approximately 5-10 minutes by car, 15-20 on bike or 45 mins walking. Very easy commute to the downtown and all the central/touristy neighbourhoods of Toronto via tram or bus. Although we mainly used our own car or Uber, which is obviously very available at any time of day. Ride to the downtown Toronto is about $12-15 CAD (if not surging). Really recommended for everyone who wants a nice, relaxing stay in a place off the beaten path, but simultaneously very close to all the entertainment Toronto has to offer.

Hello, My name is Mike, my wife is Bonnie and daughters name is Montana. Thank you for your interest in our beautiful hide out in Hockley. Where you can visit our private guest house of; 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom and full kitchen all to yourself. Laid back and casual setting. The main house is about 100 ft away behind a hedge to provide all the privacy you would need. Anyone and everyone is welcome. The guest house is meant to give off a COTTAGE like feel. Please see description for more details.
Join us in the summer for a full access to our 3/4 acre pond where you can swim, have s'mores over a camp fire. If you have some fishing rods kicking around, bring them, the pond is full of fish. The property even backs right on to some awesome bruce trail access for some fun hiking activities in the forest. There is no air conditioning. The place does keep cool and we provide fans as well for additional needs. Winter in Hockley may be a little chilly but make sure you bring warm clothes to skate or play hockey on the pond. If things get too cold we do have a Tim Hortons not even a 5 minute drive away. You can always keep warm in the heated house with a wood burning fire place inside. Just a 7 minute drive to Hockley Valley Skii Resort for food and other outside activities. Come check out our hide out in Hockley for endless family activities or a romantic get away for two. The guest house is cozy but definitely not a brand new condo in Toronto. The appliances are not new, however they do all work. We suggest outdoor activities. A place to kick back and fall back in love with nature. There is 3 beds but room for one or two air mattress in the living room. (Guests must supply their own air mattress) Dogs are more than welcome to join however there is an extra pee fee. Please talk to us before booking in order to determine the amount.
    Very private, quiet neighbourhood

  • The nature scenery, sounds of the babbling waterfall and pond are relaxing to enjoy morning coffee, afternoon drinks and evening dinner outside. The bathtub was a nice surprise and big enough for two. The kitchen is spacious for cooking and the family room nice and cozy with an indoor wood stove. We will definitely be back for another romantic getwaway. We loved our stay it was very private even though it's on the same property the owners.

Our cozy cabin is across the street from beautiful Lake Simcoe and Innisfil Park and Beach! A short walk to all amenities in town, just 20 minutes to Barrie and 50 minutes to Toronto. Enjoy kitchenette with hotplate, microwave WiFi and super comfy queen bed!

  • Our family of four had a lovely time here in Grimsby. It was a great location - easy to get to right off the highway. Super short walk to the beach (bring water shoes) followed by pizza and gelato on the way home. Found a yummy sandwich place (270 Bench) to grab lunch before we went out for nearby hikes. It was a good size for the four of us. Comfy beds. Beautiful washroom. Super hot shower! Netflix, board games and puzzles to keep kids entertained. Fenced in backyard. Comfy front porch. And host was easy to reach by text. Thanks for the stay Jen!

    Karen2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Charming space in a lovely location. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the garden area and the front porch. Wonderful shower and deep soaking tub. We were in and out in too short a time to use most of the amenities, but loved the space and could see the cottage working well for longer stays.

Entire house and property is yours to use, it's a lovely stone house built in the 1880's. We got lucky to purchase it 2017 and have worked for 1 1/2 years gutting it to the old stone walls, dig down the basement and rebuilt the entire thing from the inside. Ongoing outside stone work will finish up this summer.
An hour from Toronto this is a diamond in the rough! Pictures don't do it justice at all, it's between grand valley and Arthur. It's 15 minutes from fergus, 20 from Elora. It's close to the Luther marsh
  • Our stay was private, quiet and peaceful. The house is beautifully done with a spacious layout and everything you could need. We're planning to book again to continue exploring the forest.

  • We stayed at the Sama Riverhouse with a group of friends over the past weekend, and although it was a terrible storm, that didn’t stop us from having a wonderful time in this location. The space is absolutely stunning, more beautiful than the pictures depict, and spotlessly clean as well. The decor makes the space feel cozy and warm as a cottage should, but adds some luxury and style. We loved just sitting by the fire with a glass of wine and looking out the window. Everything that was possibly needed to cook a great meal was provided by the hosts. We even baked a cake during the day, and much to our surprise found an array of pans to choose from. The entertainment, including top of the line speakers, karaoke machine, games, and pool table, etc. were a ton of fun. It is clear that the hosts spent a lot of careful time attending to the details of the space, and ensuring that their guests feel welcomed and at home. I highly recommend this property to those that are interested. We cannot wait to book our next stay here! Thank you again for the warm hospitality!

  • Marco and Maryam were great hosts. Marco responded very quickly. The home is beautifully designed and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. My family and friends really enjoyed our time at the Sama River house! All the best - Cathy

  • We had a fantastic stay at this property. My guests and I agreed that the pictures don't do it justice - it's newly renovated, spotless, tons of natural light, and a fully stocked kitchen. It was great to make family style meals and the Apple TV and Bose stereo made entertaining ourselves so easy. Marco was incredibly easy to communicate with and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and we had everything we needed. The proximity to Toronto made it an easy trip and we hope to visit again when the weather is warmer. Highly recommend!

  • Absolutely wonderful location. Great for big family getaways. Fully stocked and loaded with amenities. Right next to a Shopper's Drug Mart and a No Frills (walking distance) if you needed something specific. The home itself is gorgeous alongside the backyard. Just a note that the firepit is on a slant and you are beside a road for the backyard.

    Roy2018-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, myself and all my guest agree that there some positive things to say about this new listing. Many negatives. Positives - Spacious - Furnishings and decor are as they appear in the picture - The bathroom on the first floor actually appers as presented in the pictures and was clean Negatives Apperance and Cleaninlness - No where near as modern or polished as the photos presents the cottage to be, cottage for the most part is run down - Upon arrival we drove to the back to park, and the first thing we noticed was an overflowing amount of garbage bags piled on the bottom of the deck cause the trash cans were full, and many of the trash bags had been torn with food all around, clearly attacked by animals (Raccons and rats) - Because of the garbage situtaion, we couldnt even enjoy the deck which was a huge reason we even picked this place to begin with due to the smell and fear that rats would come out of the garbage - Both the deck and porch were littered in cigarette butts - The deck also had an open ladder leading to one of the room windows upstairs, which posed a major safety hazdard and was another reason we could not use the back deck - The front porch had sereval old newspapers dating as far back as Feburary 1st - The floors had not been swept upon our arrival - The kitchen oven was not clean and fridge - On a window sill in the front foyer there was a piece of decomposing food which many beatles were attracted too -Front foyer had quite a few beatles so we had to close those doors so that place was completely useless to us like the deck - We had to pull a few curtains shut causd beatles were on the window sills throughout the house - Each matress upstairs had a few beatles on them upon arrival which we had to kill ourselves Within the the first hour we informed our host of these issues with pictures and the only response we got was he would contact his cleaners and get back to us. Ammenties - Heating was okay, the only really well heated areas was the dinning room and washroom, the rest of the cottage was colder -Gas fireplace did not work -Outdoor bbq was filthy, rusty, old and small grill, we had to resort to getting a guest to bring their own -Pans are small, definitely not enough to cook food for 10 people without taking hours I truly hope this detailed review helps others. Be weary of pretty pictures.

  • We stayed at Mani's beautiful, cozy and super clean cottage for 2 nights. Her place is right by lake Simcoe, we enjoyed the afternoon walk along the lake. The neighbourhood was very quite and friendly. There were grocery stores and nice restaurants all within 10 mins driving. We highly recommend Mani's cottage if you are looking for a getaway from the city.

Caution: cottage currently has no gas supply. Gas stove & dryer not working. No heating in main floor (there are baseboard heaters upstairs & hot water). This is why the rental rate is low. If you are OK with it, please read on. Waterfront cottage at Lake Simcoe! 34 min from Toronto (Steeles/404). Dock your boat at backyard. Enjoy peaceful evening with camp fire. Fishing right outside the dock on canal. 1500 sq ft house, 3 bedrooms, bed linens changed every booking, 1.5 bathrooms, TV & WiFi
The location Located in a quiet cul-de-sac at south part of Cook’s Bay, the cottage has 39’ fully docked shoreline alone inland canal. The canal provides a peaceful wind shelter for boat docking, and easy access to the lake (about 200m waterway). The canal-facing patio/pool/backyard is very enjoyable due to less wind. Public boat launch – 100m waterway or 400m roadway Snowmobile lake access – 50m The space The entire house (except garage) will be your vacation home. Here are some highlights of the house Bedrooms - there are 3 bedrooms, all in upstairs • Master bedroom with King size bed • 2nd bedroom with queen size bed • 3rd bedroom with 2 single beds One full bathroom upstairs. One door opens to hallway and another open to master bedroom. Powder room (half bathroom) on main floor. family room and dining room on main floor limited kitchen Swimming pool & deck – great for the family and kids to relax and enjoy family time • Round above ground swimming pool (June - Sept) • Pool cleaned weekly • Oversize deck – east facing part provides shaded relaxing space in the afternoon or dinner time, south facing portion is ideal for sunbath all day long. • Fire pit (bring your firewood) • private dock Plenty of parking on driveway – enough space for boat trailer More amenities • Free internet connection and cable TV (Televisions in living room) • All bedding and towels provided and changed prior to each booking • bath towels and washcloths • Hair drier • Shampoo • Iron and board on demand (notification required before check in) • High chair, baby bath and stroller on demand (notification required before check in) Clean home away from home I know my cottage is getting aged and the furniture and appliances get their fair share of wear and tear. In the meaning time, I try everything I can to make the house clean, especially the bedding and kitchen – I think they are the visitors concern the most. This is what I do to keep my house’ cleanness: • Housekeeping service after each checkout – clean living room, kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. Change and wash bed linens. Wash unwashed towels • Swim pool cleaned weekly • In-house deep cleaning periodically • Carpet wash periodically • Power wash pool deck, patio furniture, driveway periodically
Lake Simcoe is the lake closest to Toronto beside Lake Ontario. With the newly extended Highway 404, it only takes less than an hour drive to get here for many Torontonians. Lake Simcoe is a fairly big lake (722 km²), and freezes over completely in winter. All these facts make Lake Simcoe a popular vacation destinations all year long. The lake and area get recreational activities four seasons a year, from boating, fishing, and all water sports in summer to ice fishing and snowmobile in winter.
  • The house is a bit run down on the outside, but the inside was fine. The price is appropriate for what you get and is good value. We had no complaints staying here and the description from the host is accurate.

    David2018-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • The owner was very helpful and patient during the booking process which went wrong a couple of times due to a problem with my airbnb account. She also provided excellent information about the local area and amenities. The house is spacious and well equipped and good value for money. Beds are comfortable as are the sofas. I would stay here again and recommend it to people looking for a base to explore Ontario.

    Chris2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was not as advertised and staying here was a disappointing experience for me and my girlfriend. The “3Br POOL” had a dirty and unopened pool which we were told the day before our stay would be opened while we were there - but wasn’t. We were notified that the gas wasn’t working and therefore the stove and dryer would not function - but after planning our meals to not require a stove we discovered that the oven was barely functional (took hours to heat up to only 220 degrees) and the BBQ was also reliant on gas. The house itself was lovely, spacious and the back deck was great to hang out on, and shaded for most of the day. The kitchen does not have many cooking utensils (knives in particular) so we recommend bringing your own and verify with the owner that the pool is in fact open because even when they were going to open it while we were there, the chemicals would have made it unsafe for use for an additional day.

  • What can we say? We had a wonderful week on this cottage. Waterfront with a pier, we rent a boat and docked it there. Very quiet , it is a place where you can hear the sounds of the nature and even fishing for several hours a few steps of the door. The cottage is very well furnished, very close to several supermarkets, restaurants, LCBO, etc. it was a great surprise even considering the comments of the other guests. Jessie was always available by air B&b chat and very friendly.

    Marcelo Eduardo2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • The place was in the perfect area, close to Walmart, McDonalds, Canadian tire etc... if you are bringing your own boat the boat launch is a 2 minute drive down the street. Lots of parking at this property with the long driveway.. which is perfect if you are towing a boat and trailer.

  • We spent Thanksgiving long weekend here with close family and we had an incredibly relaxing stay. The place was clean, spacious, and Jessie was highly responsive and accommodating.

    Chris2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful home! Great views nice access to water. Neighbor was quiet and great location to everything we needed! Plenty of space for our family! We will be returning in nicer weather to better enjoy the waterfront!

    Sally2018-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • It was a really nice place, very clean and well organized. Definitely big enough for 12 people, especially when it's warm enough out to enjoy the big backyard. It would have been nice to be able to swim, but the river provides a nice view regardless. Very close to grocery store and LCBO which was handy, and the air conditioning was a great escape from the heatwave! Jessie was very responsive and answered all my questions very promptly. The only downside was a few standard kitchen items were missing: baking sheet, oven mitts, knives, tea towel, and a toaster. We also had to buy more toilet paper. Overall would recommend this place to stay.

  • Amazing cottage an hour from Toronto. Cottage is much bigger than pictured, kitchen is separated from living/dining room. Rooms and beds were super comfortable. Zero gravity chairs were ideal for star gazing. But the best part of it was a 5-person floaty that was left for our use. Super fun and relaxing cottage weekend, highly recommend!
