  • Charming space! You'll never believe you are situated in the middle of an established neighborhood. We slept with doors open and enjoyed waking to the view of treetops and sounds of birds. We didn't spend much time during the day at our Airbnb but enjoyed quiet nights and coffee on the charming porch. Clean efficient space, with interesting architecture in a natural setting. We'd stay again!

  • Maria & Jakub were incredible hosts! The house was exactly as it was described and more. The neighborhood is quiet and serene. You feel nestled in trees. And their cat Pushek is darling!

  • We loved the place and location! It was cozy and easy to get to anywhere around Asheville.

  • We had a great stay. The space was cozy and clean. We didn't pay attention to the listing where it said there was no air conditioner - so if you are hot natured be aware! The surroundings were beautiful, and very close to West Asheville where there is so much to do! Also a very short drive to downtown. Overall we loved it and would definitely stay again!

  • Very accommodating and friendly hosts. Hope to return some time and thanks again!

  • Our stay was absolutely lovely. The space is so beautiful, peaceful, and well designed. Less than 10 minutes from downtown Asheville and a perfect getaway for a vacation. Thanks!!!

  • Beautiful spot. Quiet, secluded, and comfortable. We had a late arrival and had a little difficulty finding it. The space was the perfect spot for us to stay for this little trip. The bed was comfortable and you really can't beat the view.

Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Resort & Harrah's Casino are each about 30-35 mins away. --- Motorcycle, Bicycle Storage & Horse Boarding are Available.
The freshly remodeled Cottage was originally built in 1922 and began as a 650 sq. ft, two bedroom, one bathroom house. The Cottage sits atop a hill on a 3/4 acre lot with a lovely view. After the remodel, the Cottage is 850 sq. ft of pure country charm with freshly painted interior bead-board walls & ceilings, and refinished heart pine wood floors. Although this house is smaller than most, it packs a BIG PUNCH! The floor plan is so fabulous you'll never believe its actual size. The house is heated and cooled by a heat pump. There is an open air, covered front porch where you can take in the mountain views and relax in one of the rocking chairs. Inside, the Cottage has an open living area, with an eat-in kitchen & breakfast bar, three bedrooms, and two full baths each with a tub/shower combination. The Cottage accommodates 6-7 people. There is a queen size bed in each the front bedroom and the middle bedroom and a bunk bed set in the back bedroom for sleeping for six. A single size air mattress is also available for a 7th person. For dining space, the Duncan Phyfe drop leaf table will accommodate up to 8 place settings when both leafs are extended. And, there is additional seating for 3 at the breakfast bar.

A short ride north on Beaverdam Road will take you up and through Beaverdam Gap which drops down into the beautiful Sandy Mush area and you are off to enjoy some of the most gorgeous country side in the United States. Or, ride south on Beaverdam and connect into the Newfound Road route for a fabulous ride through the back roads into West Asheville. You can refer to our catalog of “Things to Do” to find many other routes in Western North Carolina that are convenient to the Cottage. West Cottage has a small carriage house on site for enclosed, secure storage for bicycles or parking for up to 4 large motorcycles. There is access to an open-end barn for shelter however, there are no stalls set up for separation of individual horses at this time. Please ensure horses are compatible before you commit them to sharing accommodations. WALKING along Beaverdam Road is not advised as it is a somewhat busy, fast paced road without much shoulder for walking. If you wish to go for a walk, cross Beaverdam at the driveway entrance, go just slightly to the right to access Smather's Cove Road where you can take in the view and fresh mountain air on your stroll.
  • Rachel’s place is the perfect spot for a family getaway. Feels like your are in the middle of nowhere but also 5 mins from grocery store, restaurants etc. When I say Rachel has thought of anything and everything you could possibly need, I totally mean that! I was probably more comfortable here then I am in my own home. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a spot outside of Asheville.

    Derek 2017-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. The house was peaceful and Rachel made sure that we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again.

    Mike2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • From the minute you arrive you will be greeted with a smile from Rachel making you feel welcomed and at home. The cottage is cozy and sparkling clean! Where the cottage is located makes it very easy to take day trips into Gatlinburg, Asheville, Waynesville, etc. You could not have picked a better place to stay, and just know Rachel will check in on you to see if all is good and ask if you need anything. She & her husband are the best hosts!

    Pam2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel and Mike were fabulous. They thought of everything. Things like cards, games, cookies, bandaids, unique kitchen utensils, hand tools and fresh eggs were just some of the amenities we received. They were so gracious and kind. The cottage was spotless and fresh as well as very comfortable. We had a wonderful time and look forward to going back soon. Thank You Rachel and Mike from our entire family!

    Frank2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is very clean and located in quite urban setting with beautiful surroundings. Beds are very comfortable. Rachel is the most generous landlord we ever encountered, for giving us lots of thoughtful surprises which you will find out when you stay in her cabin!

    Lilin2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • This home is completely new inside, with fresh, clean everything except for some nice antique pieces. The beds, pillows, linens and everything were great. The full kitchen had basic spices and the host even had some fresh eggs for us. The TV is large and the Internet is suprisingly speedy - over 30 Mbps download. The view from the front porch is great, with several mountain peaks rising up.

    Mark2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! If you were to image a perfect AirBnB experience, it would be West Cottage and Rachel! The cottage is beautifully decorated and has everything you would ever need and then some provided! Rachel is a wonderful host who made sure we had everything we needed, and even provided some wonderful dinner suggestions. If you are looking for a great place to explore the WNC mountains from, this is the place!

Welcome to our little cozy home! Totally private setting, close to Asheville and Biltmore House convenient to Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Cattaloochee Skiing, Cherokee
Small cabin with loft and sitting area, full bath with tub& shower, kitchenette with microwave, Kerrigan coffee maker and refrigerator. Living area has electric fireplace, tv, WiFi, cable, sofa bed that sleeps two.
We have easy access to interstate 40. Close to the quaint town of Waynesville, Cherokee Casinos, and Beautiful Asheville. We have a grocery store, and gas stations close to with fast food on the same exit.
  • My family and I had an amazing time staying at this cozy cabin. It could comfortably fit the four of us plus a dog. The hosts, Jody and Craig, were incredibly sweet and accommodating. They made sure we had everything we needed. There is a huge field right behind the cabin where dogs can freely run around! Location was perfect too. Easy access to a grocery store and about an hour drive to most beautiful mountain trails, such as Looking Glass Falls and the Black Mountain. We would stay here again and strongly recommend this cabin!

    Grace2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The magnolia cabin was the perfect property for a couple or individual. It’s quaint, clean, and private. The location is in a beautiful property, very easy to access from the highway, but it is about a 25 minute drive from downtown Asheville/the Biltmore. They had some small toiletries, bottled waters and a keurig which we definitely took advantage of. The power in the cabin is a little finicky. We blew the breaker a couple times when the heater/coffee maker were on at the same time, but it was easy to flip back on and everything went back on like normal. The ladder up to the loft is something that took getting used to, but it was safe and pretty easy! Lovely lovely home and hosts and we would definitely stay again.

    Ryder2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and cozy little home. I would definitely stay there again next time I’m in town

    Dustin2017-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot outside of Asheville exactly as pictured. Jody and her husband, Craig, were incredibly friendly and extremely kind to our two small children. The cabin was clean and adorable. It did get a little chilly at night (it’s December in the mountains, after all), so be prepared with a pair of long johns. There’s also a great, giant field out back for the dogs to run. So if you’re counting, that’s two adults, two small kids, and two large dogs who all fit comfortabley in this space. We would book again!

    Lindsay2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The space was wonderful and a great place between Asheville and the National Park. Judy was very accommodating and quick to respond. The cabin did get a little chilly (as a caveat, it got down to single digits over night, so it would have been chilly most places), but the heaters worked well and there were plenty of blankets available. The shower faucet was also a little difficult to navigate. We were afraid we had no hot water. When we asked Jody, she generously opened up her home for us. Fortunately we were able to figure it out, and the rest of our stay went off without a hitch. We definitely recommend the Cabin, and will be staying here again if given the opportunity.

    Nathan2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazingly comfy and cozy place to stay!! Jody and Craig are sweet southern hosts that make you feel right at home! The home is cozy and warm, with an amazing view in the winter time! My husband and I will definitely stay here again!!

    Joy2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jody's little place was great! We really enjoyed the loft space and the rustic feel. If we are back around Asheville, we will stay again!

    Allyson2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jody was a great host, upon our arrival she greeted us & showed us around. We were extra thankful for being able to bring our golden retriever along. Asheville was about 20 mins. away, reasonable Uber fare to night life. Black mountain was by far the coolest small town (little further), extremely dog friendly. Thank you Jody for hosting us!

Private room and bathroom My place is close to Asheville, Maggie valley, cherokee. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). No immediate neighbors, and very easy access to I-40. Exit 37 is two minutes away. Two very friendly dogs roam free on the property. 420 friendly 20 minutes outside of downtown Asheville, and 20 minutes from Maggie Valley and Waynesville. 45 minutes to Cherokee. 45 minutes to Great Smokey Mountain National park
Your room has it's own private bathroom. My part of house has own entrance and I have a space separate from rest of house. So your room has no adjoining occupied rooms next to it, giving a feel of more privacy Kitchen and living room is shared, but I'm rarely in living room or the rest of the house for that matter It is just me and two friendly dogs who stay outside and in garage Smoking allowed outside
Few neighbors mostly wooded with pond next to house sits right on main thoroughfare (smokey park highway), but road noise is not a problem.
  • Matt's place was clean and quiet. Nice private entrance and and sweet welcome by Buddy and Max (pups). Nice comfy bed!

    Melissa2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Matt was super friendly and offered suggestions for restaurants and other places in and near Asheville. The room and bathroom were tidy and comfy and tucked away into our own corner of the house. Definitely a great first air bnb experience!

    Brittany2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The green roof inn was amazing!! I would highly recommend it for anyone wanting to visit Asheville. We stayed 4 nights. The room and house were very clean. (Pillows were the best!) The room is on the other side of the house which makes it feel like you have the house to yourself. The location was great, short drive to Asheville or the blue ridge parkway. The house is in an incredibly safe neighborhood with beautiful scenery all around. Matt was a very kind and helpful host. He gave us suggestions for places that made our impromptu trip a fun-filled vacation. There are two very cute and gentle dogs that live on the property and they greet you whenever you enter.

    Matt2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Matts was lots of fun. We was very kind and friendly but definitely gave us our space and privacy. Also you really do barely see him.

  • Great affordable place that is close to downtown Asheville and a short drive to Grandfather Mountain!

    Sara2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • It was a very short trip to Asheville. But the one night we stayed Matt made sure he was home to welcome us and made sure everything was clean and ready for our stay. Has 2 older gentle dogs that are absolutely the sweetest boys ever.

An original 1920's craftsman nestled in a small mountain town, just blocks from downtown Canton. There are restaurants, bakery, and new brewery walking distance away. Only 5 min off I-40,& just 15 minutes from Waynesville & Maggie Valley, 20-25 minutes from Asheville and Biltmore Estate! Cherokee (Harrah's) is about 45 minutes away, Pisgah National Forrest is close as well as easy access to Great Smokey Mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway! We are about 40 minutes from Cataloochee ski lodge.
This large private bedroom has been newly renovated! It is the original master bedroom so it is very spacious. It's a cozy and sunny room featuring a window seat. It allows privacy since it is on the 2nd floor of our home and conveniently located next to the shared bathroom. The TV in the room has Netflix and Hulu on it for our guests. Our home is very cozy, clean, and comfortable and is perfect for a fun relaxing weekend getaway for singles, couples, business & everyone in between.
Our neighborhood is part of the historic district of Canton. It's a pleasant street to take a walk on and it's only a couple of blocks to walk to downtown Canton. Bearwater Brewing Company just recently opened and also serves good food. It is with-in walking distance. We love The Southern Porch, a restaurant and bar featuring southern food with a twist, and the food is very affordable. During warm months, they have live music. There is also a really yummy bakery, a Mexican restaurant, a sandwich shop (Jro's) and a Japanese restaurant all within walking distance.
  • Ashley and Ryan are super nice. The room is cute, well decorated, and feels like they put a lot of work into creating a homey/boutique style hotel room. Also their dogs are awesome! We felt very welcomed and they had great food recommendations in and around Asheville

    Varina2017-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley & Ryan were very easy to deal with - communication was great and the everything was accurately represented in the listing. Very comfortable house with good proximity to the mountains. All in all a great experience!

    Nancy2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was wonderful to stay at Ashley and Ryan's home in Canton. It is a beautiful old house with a very nice, private room, full of supplies you would need for a night or couple of days to stay somewhere else. We had a warm welcome including the cute dogs and got offered coffee in the morning. Thank you for having us, Ashley & Ryan.

    Judith2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley and Ryan [Mom and fur babies too] truly made our first Airbnb experience an amazing one, one we will never forget~! An extremely sweet and down to earth couple. From their quick responses to the outstanding hospitality, including the local suggestions and down to the amenities and stylish space, we felt heartfelt care, attention to detail and consideration for making our stay and us feel welcome, like family. All of their suggestions were spot on and exactly as described and loved realizing this was an original Sears Craftsman catalog home...totally cool. We welcome the opportunity to have our paths cross in the future and once again are thankful for the initial coming together. I highly recommend Ashley and Ryan's place for your accommodation needs.

A beautiful, brand new, private and separate studio suite located on a picturesque 5.5 acre hobby farm with 32 animals. Incredible views of Cold Mountain and the great Smoky Mountains. We are only 24 minutes from West Asheville, close to BIltmore, Maggie Valley and more! Our site is Goodyacre Farm
We are a 5.5 acre hobby farm with 32 animals. You will have your separate space in the hay barn. We will be in the house across the way. There is a queen sized tempurpedic and bunk beds.
We love the privacy and peacefulness of the property. The views are pretty amazing. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do! We love that we are 24 minutes from Asheville. We are 5 minutes from downtown Canton which is quickly growing with the opening of the new brewery. We are centrally located to downtown Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Biltmore, etc.
  • Goodyacre Farm was a fantastic spot for a family vacation. Nicole and Joe were warm and gracious, and the place was stunning. My kids had so much fun visiting the animals, and it was relaxing for us, too. It was secluded from the surrounding neighbors , so it felt very safe to let the kids wander around. We will definitely come back! Thank you, Nicole and Joe!

    Susie2017-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Where to begin? The amazing mountain views? The rockstar hosts in Nicole and Joe? The awesome collection of rescued farm animals spread throughout their property at GoodyAcre Farms? Or maybe the perfect space they welcome you to lay your head in for your stay? But seriously, this place rocks. My girlfriend and I came here for a quick 2 day trip to Asheville and couldn't of been more impressed. Between the two of us we have stayed in Air BnB's all over the world and this one takes the cake. The surrounding views can't be beat. Your close enough to Asheville with it only being a 20 min ride. Nicole and Joe are amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. They even supply homemade soaps and fragrances that are awesome. Animals everywhere that include chickens, donkeys, dogs, alpacas, piggies and goats. One of the most comfortable beds ever to sleep in after sitting by the fire and cooking dinner on the grill.. Ok, ok...ill stop now. I need to make sure there is a chance I can book this place again in the future. I look forward to seeing all your upcoming plans come together! You'll be seeing Shauna and myself again soon!

    Josh2017-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole is a great hostess! Responsive, flexible and super friendly! Very flexible policies. We were able to check in early for our plans. It's a private, stand alone unit. Not upstairs or downstairs of the owner's house. Big plus. Nice, neat, and spacious for 3 of us and our 2 small dogs. We'll definitely come back when we visit the area again!

    S2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Precious farm and lovely space.

    Garland2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying at Goodyacre farm! It was soooo cute! This was my first Air BnB stay and it set the standard! The suite was beautiful. I walked in to jazz playing, essential oil fragrance, a welcome note and hand made soap, lotion and local coffee. The place was very neat and tidy (something very important to me:) The decor was eclectic, artistic and fun, which made the environment really relaxing. I felt immediately at ease. I came in from a long day of exploring in Asheville and Nicole and Joe greeted me, showed me around and welcomed me to check out the farm and then let me have my privacy. I saw from other reviews that families enjoyed the farm, but I would say this is also great for solo travelers and particularly solo women travelers. I felt very safe and secure, plus it was great that they were able to greet me so I could talk to them, but also I could enjoy the space at my own comfort. Checking out the farm and the VIEWS the next morning was a special treat. This was a great choice and I plan to come back!

    Courtney2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole and Joe were incredible with making our stay wonderful. The living space was beautiful and thoughtfully done. Joe took the extra time to show us all the animals and tell us their stories, and I cannot put into words how happy all the animals looked. And even while it was on a farm the private living space was quiet and homey. We had an incredible stay and would highly recommend it to anyone.

    Bob2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole and Joe have created a great destination for either a couples or family-friendly venue. My daughter and granddaughter we're ecstatic the entire time, and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves watching them interact with all the farm animals. It was great to also help with the "chores" that are needed to be done with the farm life. The "entire place" catagory is an understatement. Our family cannot recommend their place enough, and we promised them we would be back. They were not only great hosts, but now new friends!

  • Nicole and Joe are great hosts. We loved staying at their animal farm. The kids loved the interaction with the farm animals and we enjoyed the bon fire. Their place was clean and comfortable .... we also enjoyed their record collection ! We will stay with them again if we visit this area. Thank you!

Centrally located between Asheville, Waynesville and The Great Smoky Mountain National Park The Snowy Owl Cabin has great views, near-by restaurants and hiking The uniqueness of staying in a log home, quiet wooded neighborhood, but still close to all the special places of Asheville, Waynesville, all the water sports of the area, plus all the breweries provides an ideal place to stay. The room is self-sustained, completely private and has a separate secured entry way.
As you arrive at the The Snowy Owl Cabin, you will amble across your deck filled with chairs, small tables and summer plants. At the end you will arrive at your private door which opens into a large sitting area. Make yourself comfortable on the sofa or large lounge chairs. Straight ahead is a comfy queen bed covered with a down comforter and several pillows. The full bath has ample towels and amenities to make you feel at home. A small refrig, microwave, coffee pot, coffee/ teabags and bottle opener will help you with snacks, and breakfast.
  • My first AirBnb experience and my only regret is that I was unable to meet my hostess. Ms. Beth (whom I affectionately call "Her Highness" or "Queen Elizabeth") was always prompt, kind, patient, and pleasant. The pics do not do the place justice. Snowy Owl is an immaculate, spacious, well-appointed room. It is obvious that Ms. Beth took great care to ensure that we felt invited and special. There were many personal touches that made us feel at home. Definitely a place I would like to return to in the near future. Hugs to THE Queen!

  • Beth was incredibly hospitable and did so much to make us feel welcome in her lovely home! She greeted us upon arrival (and offered us wine too!) and provided us with everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing weekend in a truly beautiful area. Overall a wonderful stay in her lovely home.

  • Beth ist eine sehr nette und zuvorkommenden Gastgeberin. Das Appartement ist genauso wie angeboten + Begrüßungskuchen!!!

  • This space is everything advertised and more. She added so many thoughtful touches upon check in - a birthday card and scones for our morning coffee. Beth is extremely kind. I felt like I was at my grandmas house. It is super cozy and I highly recommend it!

  • Excellent experience, especially since our first with Airbnb. Beth was welcoming, friendly, and communicated easily with us. The location and room are beautiful. We couldn't have done better.

  • If you plan on visiting the Asheville area this is the perfect place to stay. The location is perfectly located between the GSM park and downtown Asheville. Its also close to the parkway. The room / studio flat is spacious, clean and private. The neighborhood is gorgeous and Beth is so sweet. My wife and I stayed for 5 nights and didn't want to leave at the end. Beth could charge three time more for this space and it would still be a bargain. We will most defiantly stay here again next time we are in the area.

  • If you want some peace & quiet and a cute cabin retreat, this is the prefect place! It is completely private with its own entrance & covered porch with cozy wooden lounge chairs great for relaxing in the evening and watching the sunset. It is clean and cozy, the bed is comfy, the towels are fluffy, and the shower has great water pressure! There is Wi-Fi, but be prepared, there is NOT a TV or a radio (very very quiet), so you might want to bring a portable Bluetooth speaker or something similar with you for your visit if you need noise or sleep with music. Overall this is 5/5 stars for me from value to location to Beth being the sweetest host. Highly recommend!

    Erich2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • If you like beauty, comfort, a break from noise and happiness, then this is the place for you! I'm glad I trusted the reviews because The Snowy Owl is a gem that we will return to for many years. Thank you Beth!

"The Apple Orchard Riverfront Cottage" My place is close to great views, art and culture, restaurants and dining, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space, the light, and the comfy bed. My place is good for couples, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets). The “Apple Orchard Riverfront Cottage”
  • Thad was there at our arrival (he says only because he needed to water due to not having rain since Hurricane Matthew) and even greeted us with local craft brews in the fridge! We brought our Weiner dogs who absolutely loved the open space and being able to explore the property. One person in our group tried fishing and quickly caught some trout and bass, throwing them back into the river. Plenty of space inside and out; very close to civilization yet once down the private drive, you are definitely getting away from it all!

Great views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, 18 miles to Asheville, hiking, biking, tubing, hot air balloon rides, Biltmore Estate, French Broad River, Great Restaurants and brewery's. Our place is a hidden gem high in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The views are spectacular and breath taking. Newly built large one bedroom guest apartment has a nice size living room, high ceilings, beautiful kitchen, oversized bathroom, new front load washer/dryer. Couples, solo adventurers, and pets welcome.
The serene mountain living with the convenience of downtown Asheville with plenty of things to see and do.
Our new development is high in the Blue Ridge Mountains yet very close to downtown Asheville for shopping & great restaurants. The road up the mountain to the loft apartment winds through beautiful lush trees and as you climb the views just get better and better! There are several switch backs on the trip up but it is an easy climb and you do not need all wheel drive. There are days if you are an early riser you can catch the beautiful sunrise. Other days the clouds show off the smaller mountains peak below as if they are islands in a sea of white. The views are never the same and that is why this secret gem of a neighborhood is loved by everyone. We face the range of mountains that the Blue Ridge Parkway runs across so we are super close to hiking, biking and waterfalls. If you walk the neighborhood you will hear water trickling from the natural springs that flow down the mountain into Curtis Creek which runs below us in the valley. In the middle of summer there are several types of berries that bloom and produce tons of yummy berries. It's a slice of heaven up here and you will be pleasantly surprised at what Mother Nature has to offer here in Western North Carolina!
  • Barbara and Chris are wonderful hosts. Very accommodating and down to earth. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again. We love hiking and were able to reach our favorite trails off the blue ridge in under an hour. The home and views are beautiful. You will not be disappointed.

  • This was my first experience with airbnb, and it was quite impressive. The location is unbelievable. It is way up on the mountain, an easy 20 mins from Asheville. It's so close to hiking, biking and everything the area has to offer. You couldn't ask for nicer hosts. I had pretty high expectations, and was pleasantly surprised that this booking exceeded them. Absolutely will look to stay here again any time I'm in the area.

    Ian2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about Chris and Barbaras place is amazing. The ride up the mountain to their home, the view from the top, and the fantastic apartment itself. The pictures don't do any of it justice, its a perfect spot for watching the sunrise and a quiet place away from it all. Chris and Barbara are so genuinely kind and friendly. We loved talking with them just as much as staying at their property. It was also wonderful to be so high up and away but still close enough to hike in the morning, and shop in Asheville in the afternoon. We may have made this a new yearly tradition.

Also conveniently located to Asheville. Barbara and Chris are excellent hosts and very friendly. Would recommend (and will) to many friends and family.

Quiet place in the country. Three miles to I-40 exit 37. Twenty minutes to downtown Asheville. Furnished with nice comfortable furniture. Sleep number beds, both bedrooms. Skylights in the kitchen, and bathrooms. Nice natural light during the day. 55", wall mounted flat screen TV with sound bar. Wireless internet (18mbps). Occasionally, hot air balloons launch from here at sunrise about. Let us know if you want to go ballooning, and we can arrange it, pending availability and weather permitting.
The number one thing that makes our space unique is the ability to wake up, walk out the door, hop in a hot air balloon, and fly away. At night, sit by a fire and stare at the stars. For a few weeks out of the year sit and stare at the fireflies (they are amazing!). We have well maintained logging roads throughout our property for nice walks through the woods.
Our neighborhood consists of five families living in a 116 acre cove. It's a quiet place. It's a beautiful place. A great place to unwind.

  • This place was amazing! It's the perfect county getaway. Close to beautiful sites in the mountains - it was the perfect place to come home after a long hike - homey, well equipped, welcoming - I can't say enough good things about it. I would definitely come back and make sure my stay was longer.

  • Jackie's house was incredibly cleanly with an AWESOME movie collection. I may have found my movie soulmate, it felt like it was all my own collection plus more that I wished I owned. The kitchen was well stocked, the shower was awesome, and a king sized bed in the master bedroom! What a dream! I would totally stay here again if I needed a place to stay outside of Asheville.

    Ali2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • I can not express my gratitude enough to Jackie for letting us stay in her cottage. My family was moving from Ohio to South Carolina and after a disastrous start to the day we were able to end it in the most comfortable bed I have ever had the pleasure of sleeping in. The area is nice and the pictures really do not do the home justice. Also, the rooms throughout the home smell really nice.

    Joey2016-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie made me feel "right at home" in her cozy cottage amidst rolling hills and the Carolina mountains, but also within easy driving distance of Asheville. Her dogs were also friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend staying here!

  • Jackie's cottage was the perfect, peaceful retreat for us. She was incredibly flexible with our post-midnight check-in and with us bringing our cat. The cottage was situated just close enough to Asheville to easily drive into town but just far enough away to be out in the country. Her great DVD collection kept us occupied on a rainy day; otherwise, we would have taken advantage of the fire pit and chairs outside the cabin. We would definitely stay again!

    Amanda2015-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was a very beautiful place. If you love being around nature just like I do you will love this place. The cottage was very clean and very comfortable. Jackie is a very nice person and I won't be exaggerating if I say this is one of the better listings on bnb. Jackie thank you for having us over and I would definitely visit again.

We love our quaint mountain town right outside of Asheville. This is a perfect house to enjoy with your family- comes with a fully equipped playroom in the basement and a backyard to enjoy some sunsets! There are restaurants, bakery, and new brewery walking distance away.
We love living right outside of the hustle and bustle of Asheville in our quaint town of historic Canton. It’s the perfect get away for a family. We have a huge playroom downstairs in our finished basement to entertain the kiddos, while the adults enjoy the views from the porch!
We live on a cul de sac so it’s safe and quiet. Our neighbors are friendly. Walkable to historic downtown Canton where they have a new brewery ( Bearwater Brewering Company) - food available, kid friendly and great beers! There is also a delicious restaurant called “ The Southern Porch” - with some classic southern dishes and live music. Great location - 5 min from I-40, 15 minutes from Maggie Valley and Waynesville, 20-25 min from downtown Asheville and Biltmore Estate! The Blue Ridge Parkway , Smokey Mountains and Pisgah National Forest are also easily accessible. Closest Ski Lodge is about 40 minutes away :)
  • Great house surrounding Asheville and the mountains! The house is well maintained and really comfortable. The host left a binder for us on the table with things to do and suggestions for food and drinks, which we thought was really nice. 20-25 minutes drive to downtown Asheville, and 40 minutes to the national park. Everything was clean and neat, would visit again!

  • This was a great home to stay at. We were in the area for our family Christmas vacation. When we arrived, the house was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We walked in and immediately felt welcomed and at home. The place was very clean, had everything we needed for convenience and the host was very quick to respond to questions. It was close enough to Ashville, so we enjoyed touring the Biltmore and winery as well as one of the breweries. It’s also close to several ski areas which allowed us to spend a day in the slopes. Lots to do in the surrounding area. We highly recommend this home.

Some of the most unbelievable views you will find in the Asheville area! Quiet peaceful Mountain view retreat close to Asheville, the Blue Ridge Mountains and Parkway. Located in the beautiful Pisgah National Forest, 17 miles from Asheville and all it has to offer. Hiking, biking, water fun, breweries, farm to table restaurants and much more. Very dog friendly!
This beautiful new home was just completed and buillt with the most up-to-date appliances, furnishings and attention to detail. Designed to show case the unbelievable views of the Pisgah National Forest and Blue Ridge Mountains where this home is located. Floor to ceiling windows in the master bedroom, master bathroom and large great room make for stunning views like no other in the area! The open contemporary floor plan allows for the mountain views to also be seen from the kitchen and dinning room. It is a great place to disconnect, relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains. You can do this easily since there is not any WiFi.
This home is located in a new development called Summit Falls close to Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway and Mount Pisgah. Driving or walking through the neighborhood has views of the valley below and breath taking sun rises in the morning over the mountain tops. Natural springs can be heard as well as beautiful birds that thrives in this peaceful setting.
  • What a dreamy getaway. It’s all about the scenery, light, space. The house is perfectly situated in the natural surroundings, with a breathtaking, expansive view. It feels as though the landscape and sky extend from every room. Waking to the sunrise from bed, or rising early to enjoy it from the huge decks, was especially wonderful (the decks are fantastic - sunsets too). The interior is spacious, immaculate, and luxurious. Scented candles, beautiful bed linens, comfy down-filled furniture. The bright, well-stocked kitchen is a pleasure to use. We spent much more time at the house vs driving the 30 minutes into Asheville because the place was simply too relaxing and beautiful. Best of all, our pup could come too. Thank you Barbara for the prompt and friendly replies to our messages and calls. We hope to return again soon!

  • The pictures don’t do it justice, this rental is worth every penny and more when you’re able to wake up to a sunrise over the valley out your window. The house is immaculate and modern but still feels like home. We won’t stay anywhere else in Asheville now, Barbara was a great host!

    Van2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Believe the pictures! Barbara's home is styled impeccably and the view is truly spectacular. While we love exploring Asheville, we found ourselves choosing to stay in and relax in this incredibly comfortable space. The kitchen and baths were both very well furnished with all the essentials. The location is exaclty what we were looking for. Incredibly private and outside of Asheville proper, but an easy drive (about 30 mins) to hiking off the parkway or into the city for dinner. Barbara was an exceptional host and you can tell she truly cares for the guest staying in her home.

    Charlie2017-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely magical. I can’t say enough about how wonderful Barbara and her family are. The house was gorgeous, beautifully furnished and so clean. We had so much fun cooking, playing cards and enjoying the view. Can’t wait to go back!

The home is decorated very nicely with Restoration Hardware furnishings, very well done! Our host Barbara was very welcoming and made us feel at home from the time we arrived. If you are in the Asheville area and are looking for an amazing, secluded place to stay this is a can't miss home. Love, love, love this home and will be back very soon for another stay.

Ask me about special offer for 2018 booking. Camping ( we call it "glamping" glamorous camping) in your own private spot in Charlene’s Country Garden. No camper to pull or setup – just bring your belongings it’s ready for you. Complete with hot running water, shower, heat, kitchen essentials, umbrella table, outdoor grill, porch, parking space, and comfy Adirondack chairs to view the mountain colors, sunset and star gaze.
Space is great for: hikers, couples and singles. Economic lodging for longer term stays like temporary work assignments or house hunting.
My property is located in a quiet rural neighborhood. The camper is situated in a spot for your privacy and easy access near my house.
  • This is a very old RV but it is nice and clean. Lighting is poor so if you plan to do any reading at night - might want to bring a book light. Charlene was not able to light the pilot light for heat on a chilly evening but I'm sure she has corrected that by now. If you want to make coffee better know how to use a Keurig - no instructions and hubby was frustrated ;-)

    Laurel2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Charlene was a wonderful host and the RV had many thoughtful touches. All the essentials and a bit more. The information sheet was thoughtful and the place itself had a little more than expected; my boyfriend and I loved our stay and would certainly visit again!

    Carina2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • I tried to review between what I got and what I believe people could expect in the future. Charlene was very friendly and communicative and you could tell she put in a lot of details to make the little trailer a nice place to stay, like little amenities and decor. It is a small place and is more like camping. The kitchen table folds out into a bed. However, while I was there there was construction almost every day. I thought it would just be for one day, but each day led to another, and the place wasn't livable for about 4, because the small trailer was constantly surrounded by about 8 construction workers who's heads were right next to the windows... every window. Which isn't wonderful when you are staying in a place about 10' by 25'. Also, the entire yard around the trailer had been torn up. Luckily we weren't on vacation, but in the process of relocating. We were motivated to find a long-term place, and we left early, so sadly we paid for quite a few days we didn't actually use. I believe if you go during a time when the home and yard is not under construction, you will find Charlene worked hard to give you a nice place to stay. You might just want to check in advance.

    Allison2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little rv located just minutes from downtown Canton. You can see the mountains from the lawn chairs and all that nature has to offer. The place is small, but if you’re into camping, its perfect. Charlene is an amazing host and has lots of special touches to make it feel like home. She was very friendly and always available if need be. There’s a grill outside to use as well as a microwave and toaster oven. We didn’t have to go out to eat and were able to cook right there! I would definitely recommend staying here.

  • First time using airbnb and this host made the experience perfect. Excellent communication and total privacy. Staircase to apartment was very easy to navitigate with luggage, own parking spot, living - dining - kitchen space very spacious, bed in bedroom and futon was comfortable, bathroom was clean with great water pressure, plenty of bedding, linens, kitchen supplies furnished. Kitchen was spotless and cleaning supplies available so we could keep it clean. Great location for visiting Asheville, Biltmore, Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking off BRP and Appalachian trail. We stayed extra night because the apartment was so nice.

  • Lovely place with space for my three children, small dog and boyfriend. Great spot for viewing stars, heading off into the mountains for a hike or just relaxing.

  • Stephanie is a great hostess. The cabin is very nice and well equipped. It's a great location for hiking and easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

    Daniel2017-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Good location and cost. But warning for those with allergies to mold, dust, and mildew. When walking into home it smelled very musky and moldy, some cabinets in kitchen we couldn't open because it smelled so bad and made our allergies flare up even more. Bathrooms especially were a source of moldy smell. Not a lot of light in the cabin. Beds were loose and springy. Bathrooms were clean and linens. We appreciated the pet accommodation and surprisingly we could not tell or smell pet orders or signs of pets. We liked being in a gated community too which was a nice surprise.

    Annastasha2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was the second of Stephanie’s homes we’ve stayed. Love the large space, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, two separate seating areas, one with a wood burning fireplace. While there, a cold front moved through bringing high winds and low temps but we were nice and toasty inside. Love the kitchen amenities, coffee, creamers, spices for cooking. Items available for picnics too. My husband and I love this area and will be back for another stay.

  • Absolutely gorgeous place, even more beautiful and spacious than the photos show. My husband, my two kids (5 & 3) and I spent 6 lovely days in this cabin. Very secluded for being in a resort style neighborhood. Less than an hour from the heart of Asheville, just far out enough to have the best views but groceries only 20 minutes away. The price is also unbeatable for the area. Would definitely rent this home again.

    Gina2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and location. Spent longs mornings on the porch. Had a beautiful day of hiking at several spots near the cabin on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

    Danae2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie was a great host! The home was comfortable and we'll suited for our needs. We loved having all the comforts of home! Stephanie was quick to answer any questions that I had and was helpful. We are looking forward to being her guest again!

Stunning new contemporary with some of the most unbelievable views you will find in the Asheville area! Quiet, peaceful, mountain view, retreat close to Asheville and all it has to offer. Hiking, biking, water fun, breweries, farm to table restaurants and much more. Pet friendly.
This home is the perfect place to get away from it all! Peace and quite except for the sweet sounds of the birds in the early morning while you sip your coffee on the upper deck watching the sunrise over the mountain tops! You might even see groups of hot air balloons fly by if you're up early enough. It is all so breath taking you won't want to miss a thing. Also you will be able to hear the nearby natural springs trickle down the mountain into the creek the runs through the valley below.
  • My family and I had a perfect, peaceful weekend at Cloud 9! The drive up, mountain views, decór, and the home itself were all breathtaking. The space was a perfect size for our family of 6 (4 adults and 2 kids) and we would definitely recommend the home to others. Barbara was an awesome host and extremely responsive to my questions prior to arrival. I look forward to returning to enjoy another serene mountain getaway! Thank you!

Engadine Inn and Cabins, Asheville's country retreat, is located a short, 15-minute drive from the City's urban center. Situated on 12-acres, we offer luxury accommodations and amenities in 6 fully furnished private mountain cabins and in the historic B&B Inn. Unique to Engadine are its views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. Engadine is convenient to the area's restaurants, attractions, music venues, microbreweries, arts and cultural facilities and shopping.
The Looking Glass Mountain Cabin at Engadine is a cozy retreat for a weekend getaway, a week-long vacation* or an extended stay*! This private cabin, reminiscent of a tiny house (only just a bit larger!) offers all of the comforts of home with the luxury amenities found in a hotel or inn. Guests park directly outside of the cabin and enter from the covered porch, which is outfitted with small table and chairs... a great place from which to take in sunrise with a cup of coffee or to enjoy sunset with a glass of wine. The living space is decorated in a "cabin chic" style and outfitted with comfortable furnishings, including a twin-sized sleeper sofa (linens provided) to accommodate guests #3. Additionally, guests will enjoy a flat screen TV with basic cable, free secured WiFi, and a gas fire stove (operated seasonally from October 15 through March 15). The kitchen is outfitted with a full complement of appliances... refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, drip coffee maker and toaster oven... as well as cooking utinsels and service ware (flatware, glassware, plates, etc.) for preparing and serving meals. Cabinets and a pantry are also available for organizing and storing your provisions out of sight. We ask that you NOT move items from your cabin to other cabins. Before departing, we also ask that you wash any kitchen items you may used during your stay. Failure to do so will result in an ADDITIONAL $50 cleaning fee. A charcoal grill is also available adjacent to the cabin's porch. The private bathroom offers (in addition to the toilet!) a tub with shower, a vanity area with plenty of cabinet space and a hairdryer. Bath towels (Turkish Towel Company) are provided, including black towels for make-up removal, as is a full complement of luxury bath products (Essential Elements "Bathe" soaps, shampoo, conditioner, etc.). The bedroom offers a cozy queen-sized bed for guests #1 and #2. Guests will also find plenty of storage for luggage on a spacious window seat and in two wardrobe closets. As the Looking Glass Mountain Cabin is one of our pet friendly cabins, we also provide water and food bowls and "dog towels" for wiping Fido's dirty paws. (There is an additional charge of $25 per day for pets.) For stays of more than 3 days, we offer a complimentary change out of bath towels upon request. For extended stays, weekly housekeeping is complimentary and includes a complete change of bed and bath linens. If you would prefer daily housekeeping, upon request there will be an additional charge of $25 per day. * Discounts are available for stays of 7 days or longer. Contact us for more information.
We offer our guests a refreshing lodging alternative in a country setting... only 15-minutes from the urban center of Asheville! That said, please be assured that we can offer a stellar lodging experience chocked full of the MANY amenities Asheville and Western North Carolina offer, all within a 20-minute radius. • Our stay at Ricks place was great! We did not spend much time in the cabin, but the space was very cute and the scenery around it was gorgeous. Had very lovely mornings on the deck. Do not see other guests much, so very good if you are looking for privacy.

Come be our guest! This secluded cabin will grant you space in a peaceful wooded canopy while still being only a short twenty minute drive to downtown Asheville! I am a writer and artist who actively uses this wonderful space as a serene, naturalist retreat and would love to share it with you!
This beautiful cabin lays at the base of a rolling mountain range with access via partial trails on the property of Four Winds. There are many meditative and unique spaces carved out as this was a family shared nature and bird sanctuary for years before the building of the cabin.
Our neighbors are goats and those are the only ones we see from the next property over. On the direct drive out to the main road of Newfound you will pass by rich local agricultural and depending on the season will see fields of pumpkins, corn and kale.
  • What a wonderful place to retreat to for some much needed relaxation. This place was perfect for the group we had in attendance for the weekend. There were 9 of us total and there were almost no issues at all. There is just one bed out of 5 that was a little stiff, but overall this place is as comfortable as it comes. Rachael, the host, is such a delight, friendly and very helpful. We all clicked very well with Rachael as soon as we arrived. I would definitely stay here again and I am really looking forward to seeing this place in the summer or fall seasons. The drive to Asheville is very easy from the property, only a 20 minute drive. We were snowed in one night and the wood burning stove/furnace was an excellent addition that made for great ambiance. There is central heating, but we didn't need to use it at all. The property is very quiet and tucked away in the hill side, it feels fairly secluded. A perfect spot for a cabin and the pond is a beautiful touch that adds a great feel to the property.

    Justin2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful location--the little pond and nature trail, indoor and outdoor fires, and convenient (but distinctly secluded) from Asheville. Got to meet Rachael and she was a warm and welcoming host. Thank you!!

    Megan2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Rachael and her daughter were there to greet us and our dogs when we arrived! Her daughter had even made me a birthday card, as I had explained how my friends and I were in Asheville to celebrate. Rachael’s home is definitely secluded and would be tough to find if you’re arriving in the dark, however, her detailed instructions and texts made this much easier. The home is comfortable, with your basic amenities, and Rachael was so welcoming. Highly recommend! Approx 20 min drive to downtown Asheville and our uber home was about $20 (not very expensive, considering a Saturday night at peak hours). Thanks Rachael!

    Kelsey2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a great rustic home far enough from the city to make us commune with nature. We got to play in the woods, feed chickens and goats, goof off with the frozen pond and sit by a fire as a family. This was the perfect place for my family to bond. Thank you Rachel. The memories are priceless.

    Amanda2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • What a fun location! A cozy quirky cabin in the woods, large enough for our small extended family, and close enough to Asheville to be our homebase for local sightseeing. We had early morning tickets to the Biltmore and this was a nice relaxing spot to spend the night together as a group the night before.

    Miako2017-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a good stay here but one of the toilets wasn’t working and the source of heat came from a radiator and the fire place. Only 20-30 minutes from downtown Asheville!

    Ashley2017-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • I wouldn’t recommend. Host wasn’t very good with communication and there was evidence of mice. The area is pretty but the home wasn’t cleaned properly before our stay.

Enjoy the comforts of home on your travels in this open and comfortable space. It is located in Canton-20 minutes from Asheville, and close to many other wonderful things here in Western North Carolina such as the Biltmore House, Blue Ridge Parkway, Smoky Mountains, hiking, biking, great restaurants, eclectic shops, outlets, etc. It really is such a fun and unique place.
The Space Amenities include a full kitchen with coffee maker, microwave, blender, dinnerware, and grill on the back deck. There is a front loading washer and dryer at your disposal, fast WiFi, Netflix. In the master there is a comfy queen size bed, personal bathroom and walk-in closet. In the second bedroom there's a full size bed, and in the third a twin size bunkbed. There's a miniature hockey table, children's and adult books, and a few games for rainy/relaxing days. The landscaping around the house is in progress, including a firepit which should be finished the end of June. Our backyard is open and is connected to our neighbor's backyards, but please don't use their things. The driveway can accommodate up to two cars, but you must park so my husband can get around you. PLEASE NOTE: The owner of the home will be staying in the downstairs apartment when he is not working or joining his family on their summer travels. The spaces are separated by a staircase and two locked doors, and the apartment has a separate entry. There are not any shared areas. You might see him pulling in and out of the driveway on occasion. He's one of the most decent people on the planet (so says his wife, who happens to be the person writing this).
The neighborhood is an older but safe, quiet neighborhood. Please be respectful and keep the noise level down. Sometimes the neighbor kids leave their toys outside, but it's never bothered us.
  • Valerie and her husband went over above and beyond my expectations and by far have been my favorite Airbnb host! Her home was exceptionally comfortable and extremely close to the activities we had planned during our trip! The views on morning runs were picturesque, an absolutely stunning little town!

  • We had such a nice stay at this house. It is a beautiful home, exceptionally clean and welcoming. Communication with Valerie was superb. I can't say enough about the bed in the master bedroom sooo comfortable. Very close to grocery stores and Asheville. We stay here again very soon! A++++

  • We had a great experience staying here! We were especially pleased with the incredibly clean condition of the household, the spacious bedrooms and living room, and the cute decorations. The house is only about 20 minutes from downtown Asheville, which was another great perk.

    Logan2017-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house is very spacious and nicely appointed, the only disappointment was it was no were close to down town Asheville like the pin represents

    guillermo2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • This house was such a deal for traveling in and around Asheville. While its about 25 mins outside the heart of the city, we didn't mind since we would be visiting most places outside the city anyways. We did uber one night into Asheville and it was $23.00 one way (IMO totally worth it.) Valerie and her husband were quick to reply to messages and there to help as needed. The beds are SUPER comfortable and the kitchen well stocked for cooking needs. We had everything we needed for a great and safe stay! Thanks!

    Peggy2017-07-25T00:00:00Z

Built in 1903 and renovated in 2008, our farmhouse has the coziness of an old country home and the vitality of a modern art gallery. A full cascade of windows show off beautiful Hominy Valley and is only 20 minutes from downtown Asheville.
Multiple indoor and outdoor sitting areas create opportunities for big parties and intimate conversations. The vast collection of modern art that inhabits the house is a wonderful contrast to the authentic bead board walls and ceilings of the original farmhouse. A horseshoe pit, and bocce balls, games, and toys invite lots of connection time. Davis Creek runs through the property and can open a lifetime of memories splashing about or cozying up by the fire pit. The Blue Ridge Parkway, 7 miles up the road, has spectacular views and tons of hikes for every age. We love to cook and have appointed the modern kitchen with everything the avid cook might need. Whistlepig Farm is available for weddings and events yet different rates apply in addition to house rental.
The house is set on seven open acres. We have 2 neighbors on our dead end road, so there is virtually no traffic making it safe for kids and dogs. The neighbors' homes are visible, yet they are far enough away where it feels private. The barn is under construction. Shaun and Natasha will be living there and full time caretakers. They currently live in the RV next to barn. By Spring 2018, it should be complete and they will have the farm ship shape and provide tours focused on homesteading.
  • I'm still day dreaming of this place! What a relaxing home! Perfect for kids and adults. The kids loved the open space and getting fresh eggs from the chickens each morning. Anne and Tom were super accommodating and hospitable! We are already planning a trip back this summer!

    Nicole2016-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had 8 adults and 2 kids. Whistle Pig is exactly what we were looking for in a vacation spot. Quietly nestle fed into the foothill area of Mount Pisgah, but still close enough to many area attractions to be a great home base. The house itself is a comfortable farmstead with a great kitchen for cooking and entertaining. Three legit bedrooms for adult couples. There is also a large bedroom with smaller beds to accommodate children or others not seeking to share a bed. There is also a very comfy pull out sofa down stairs. The house has a great folk art collection. Interesting to walk the house and think through the themes. Surprising that the farm is not used to farm more, but it was Late December, so maybe in Spring and Summer the "farm" is more evident. Kids loved tending to chickens -- feeding them and collecting eggs daily. Again, a great spot for total seclusion, or a great home base to explore Asheville, Maggie Valley, Waynesville, and many waterfalls and hiking trails around the area. Ann was always quick to respond to any questions, but was never intrusive. Really very informative and helpful leading up our stay and all the way to our check out. Highly recommended.

    Phillip2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Anne's place was fantastic! Beautiful views, farm living- just as described! The house was great and totally unique. Our group of 12 had a great time and would most definitely recommend anyone to stay here. Thank you so much!

    Matthew2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for one week and had a wonderful time! The house is located in an absolutely beautiful area of North Carolina. You are far enough away from the city so that you are in the true country, but you are close enough so that you can go into Asheville after a short drive. It is a nice balance. This house is also in a great location if you want to go up to the Blue Ridge Parkway, to do some hiking, or to do some fishing. Great fishing spots include the French Broad River and Lake Powhatan. The house is also very family-friendly. We went there with a couple of friends and four young children. Three dogs also tagged along, and had a wonderful time off leash enjoying farm life. It was a great family experience!

    Michael2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, beautiful setting in the mountains.

    Gregory2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • A unique place with all the amenities you’d want located between downtown and Mt Pisgah. Great communication as well — nothing but good things to say!

    Jared2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy farmhouse with terrific views.

    Deborah2016-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful experience! The house and property are gorgeous, there is so much space to gather and relax, inside and out! Anne and Tom greeted us upon arrival and showed us around, that was really nice. The kitchen and sunroom are to die for- not to mention the snacks, beer, and champagne left as a treat!! We relaxed in the swimming hole, did yoga, cooked family breakfasts with fresh eggs from the chicken coop...what s wonderful weekend. Worth every penny, can't wait to return.

  • Rick and Tom have gone to great lengths to create a location that is beautiful, enjoyable, and calm. The cabins are well-maintained and appointed with most everything you need to enjoy your stay with the added benefit of a well outfitted kitchen. The bedroom is nicely furnished with excellent storage and with a lovely view toward the mountains to fall asleep and wake to. With a comfortable living room/ dining space the cabins have everything you could want including a covered deck with seating to enjoy the views. The mountain views are lovely! Being in a hill top allows guests to see both the northern and southern hills/mountains too! The Inn facility is beautifully restored and elegant. Both Tom and Rick are gracious hosts and made Engadine quite enjoyable!

  • What a fantastic getaway! We absolutely loved our stay in the cabin and hope to be back again someday. Rick was very helpful in providing ideas on local hikes and good food. Everything was perfectly clean and we loved the coziness of our cabin. 5 stars!

  • Very scenic, clean, nice cabin great hospitality from Rick and Tom

    Rocky2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Rick and Tom run a wonderful venue that gives a secluded cabin feel while being close to downtown Asheville and all the attractions in the area. After being very accommodating on check-in at the historical inn, Rick gave us detailed options of the nearby area, including great places to eat in Asheville and breathtaking hikes in Nantahala National Forest, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Dupont State Forest, and along the Blue Ridge Parkway. We rented one of the six cabins that were perfect living spaces for our trip. The cabins are clean, private, and quiet, up the hill from the inn (use a flashlight at night!), ours seemed just about brand-new. The view of the sunset and the stars at night was spectacular. We called taxis that met us at the inn for our trips to downtown Asheville (make sure to tell the drivers where to make the turn off 23), about a 15-minute ride without traffic, $15-20 per ride. There was easy access to any of the forests and every drive/hike was unforgettably scenic. It was a shame we had to end our nature adventure weekend so early, but we hope to be back soon!

    Fred2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Rick and Tom are great hosts. The grounds are idyllic, bursting with flora and fauna (Rabbits!). On one of the many evening walks with our dog Chance, we were pleasantly surprised to see fireflies! The cabin was well maintained, clean, and Rick was easy to reach and incredibly helpful. We had not been to Asheville before, and he spent plenty of time giving us directions and restaurant suggestions. We enjoyed our stay so much, we booked a cabin for October during our time there!

  • Michele was a pleasure to have as a host. She made sure we knew exactly how to get to her house and when we arrived she ensured that be had all we needed and that the house was open for us to use. The bedroom was magnificent and the view was to die for. This being my first airbnb experience, I went in not knowing what to expect. I came out of this wanting to stay again the very next opportunity I can. She left us a wonderful spread for breakfast when we woke up that included fresh fruit, muffins, coffee and juice along with some oats and yogurt. Truly a great experience.

  • Michele's place was amazing. She was amazing too and went out of the way for us. The last night of our stay our friends got rained out at their campground and she took them all in. Her house is a gem! It's huge with huge windows and great views, oh and there are special little trinkets and decorations everywhere. It was truly a spirit awakening stay. Her breakfast was great and we enjoyed getting to chat with her. Can't wait to come back.

  • Our stay was perfect. The hosts were wonderful. The place was in brand new condition with all of the amenities we needed. Very clean and uber cute!

    Valerie2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cleanliness of the cabin won us over along with a well stocked house full of whatever we needed. The exposed & unfinished wood smelled amazing & the open concept was well designed. Fresh linens, utensils, soaps&all the tiny details made for the most comfortable stay. We were also impressed with upkeep of the outside and porch! We sat by the fire each night & enjoyed the peace and quiet. The location is perfection! Some Airbnb’s we have stayed in before had so much junk and it was so overgrown that we cannot enjoy the outdoor space so bravo on that as well! The showers were clean, modern, spacious & the furniture was in great condition if not brand new . Seemingly brand spanking new bath towels...I mean...these guys did an excellent job! Keeping it minimal, clean, cute & smelling amazing! The views were breathtaking. We wanted to move right in as is! Phenomenal job you guys. We’ve only had this experience twice out of the 12 times we’ve worked & played in Asheville. By our strict ocd-like standards we guessed the owners must have cleaned it themselves because of how meticulously it was cleaned. Usually mcleaning crews don’t do that well of a job so we know that the owners take pride in their rental home and their business and we thank them for that. This past weekend was so refreshing as we been working so hard over the past couple months it was the perfect getaway. We are missing the cabin and missing the area so much. We’re selling our 2 year old home next fall and are seriously looking into the area where the cabin is located. Can’t say enough good things. I also wanted to relay that there is such a harmonizing & peaceul energy in the home. There is balance and love in and around the home. It was so cozy & such a great vibe. I’ve already recommended your place to several friends. Now I’m worried we’ll have to book several months in advance because the home will soon be flooded with guests! I’ll have some really beautiful pics of the outside & inside of the cabin I wanted to share on my Instagram page. Love & Light, Adelaide Brooke,Ben (& Daphne) Instagram: bare_bones_beauty P.s. There is everything you’d need for cooking and baking. We enjoyed a few meals prepared at the cabin and the drawers have all the essentials!!

  • We loved staying here. It was incredible and more beautiful than we imagined!

  • If you are looking to "get away from it all" without actually having to go that far, I highly recommend this cabin. My family stayed there for a week and it was the perfect place to relax and recharge while still having access to nearby amenities and destinations. The cabin is spotless and I really appreciated the attention to detail to make our stay more comfortable. Linens and towels are high quality. The house is stocked with needed essential items, and when I ran out of dishwasher soap, Stephen came and topped us up! If you are looking to enjoy secluded North Carolina (the hot tub is a dream) but still want to be able to eat dinner at a great local restaurant, Stephen's place offers the best of both worlds!

    Katie2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t even begin to describe how amazing this place was. The pictures don’t do it’s justice! The cabin is large and spacious, has all the amenities you could need plus some. It’s cozy and inviting. Didn’t actually get to meet the hosts but he was helpful and easy to communicate with. I have never felt more comfortable in an Airbnb. The views are amazing and we would definitely come back. It was an ideal place for a quick relaxing getaway. Thank you for having us!

  • Beautiful house with large kitchen and grill for cooking. Definitely would stay again!

    Marisa2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts were attentive, and understanding, kind and obliging. They picked up all the little details that made our family gathering all that I hoped it would be. I had mentioned how quaint the picnic area across the street was. And they secured a reservation and made sure it was maintenance before our arrival. I didn't ask , They just did it :) we will definitely be back!

    Terri2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place did not disappoint! We loved our trip to the mountains. Along with the great view, the hot tub, grill, & fireplace were also great amenities available and really made our stay memorable!

  • Lisa is an authentic loving person who welcomes you with open arms. Her home is just as welcoming as she is, You feel you're visiting family. Your own bedroom and bathroom are very clean and artistically decorated, with some of my favorite books! The setting is magical, nestled in the mountains. Our three day stay was very busy visiting Biltmore ( I recommend one full day) Asheville and hiking but you could enjoy the mountains by simply relaxing on the back or front porches or on one of the comfortable chairs or hammock. With peaceful scenery all around. Breakfast was always a lovely time with great conversations before we started our day. Lisa offers coffee and all kinds of tea, as well as bagels. I was very Touched when Lisa got me special French brioche for our last breakfast. We would definitely recommend this wonderful place to anyone wishing to spend time in the mountainsp.

  • Staying with Lisa was an incredible experience. It was our first trip up to ashville and wanted To get balance between the fun part of ashville and the great outdoors. Lisa's place provided that down to a Tee. It's quiet, peaceful and did I mention what an amazing house she has? It's similar to the likes of a ski chalet, but has a lot of history to it. Really felt like a proper country house with character inside. We enjoyed our stay very much and Lisa was an incredible host herself who was very attractive and attentive whenever we needed her to be and she also gave us our own space in the house to. The perfect balance. We found it hard to find a place that could facilitate our dogs too and Lisa turned out to be incredibly laid back about them staying. She has two lovely Labradors who are rescues and are very good hosts to. We were very comfortable here and would love to come stay again. We recommend it. Thanks again!

  • Wow, what an amazing experience. I could not have picked a better place to spend a fall weekend in the mountains. Lisa's home is so warm and inviting. From the moment your drive through the rolling hills and into her gated entrance, you feel peace and tranquility. Lisa is a wonderful hostess and I enjoyed every minute with her and her charming animals. The log cabin was picuresque and exactly the way you would imagine. Lisa's decorating style just adds to the ambiance. Every need was thought of in advance, a warm fire in the fireplace and even the offer of roasted marshmellows. She was more than accomindating allowing for complete privacy or casual chatting. She has a perfect location for a quiet relaxing soak in the hottub. If you are looking for a layed back little piece of heaven in the mountains this is your place. You could not find as much hospitality or charm at any $300 dollar bed n breakfast in Asheville. I feel truely blessed by my experience and with out a doubt will be back.

  • This little cabin is such a great place to stay. The location gave us the perfect mix of seclusion and opportunity to experience Asheville. It was really cool to wake up every morning to that gorgeous view. The drive felt a bit dicey since it's a steep road, but we managed it safely. Everything about this cabin was perfect!

  • Awesome place for a couple looking for a little adventure. The drive up the mountain is a bit scary and takes some skill. Look, we made it in a Volvo sedan on street tires, and being that low to the ground we did hear some scraping and grinding, but in the end the car turned out just fine. Ultimately, the view makes it all worth it! We had everything we needed and our hosts were very responsive. The property itself also makes a nice little hike if you're just staying the night like we did!

  • Haley's place was fantastic and one of the more unique places I have ever stayed. Great place for the price. We enjoyed the great views and the proximity to hiking we wanted to do. The outdoor shower worked great and was very easy to use. I think my favorite part was the view from the bathroom. Haley was one of the best hosts with giving instructions and directions ahead of time.

  • The night before our arrival was spent sorting out a nightmare with a cheap hotel in Knoxville. This was going to be my first experience with Air (Website hidden by Airbnb) we were on edge as we arrived to meet Lillian and John. They were wonderful! And we were quickly able to put that bad experience in Knoxville into our rear view mirror and look forward to the rest of our vacation. Lillian and John were sensitive to our needs, yet fun and engaging as we inquired about dining, golfing, and hiking options. Their input proved helpful as we visited microbrews in Waynesville and Asheville. Great trip! Great hosts! We'll be back!

  • One of the best airbnb's we've ever stayed in. My wife and I have stayed in many Airbnbs over the past 3 years and this one earned the top of the list. It was warm and inviting. The hosts are wonderfully hospitable. The apartment is very charming and the location, while off the beaten path, was calm, quiet and relaxing.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We never had the chance to meet Lillian or John face to face, but Lillian was in perfect communication with us! She had excellent recommendations for places to eat close by (Buttered Biscuit!!) and was a wonderful, thoughtful host! We would stay here again!

  • This is a must stay location! Lillian and John have not missed a thing to make their place inviting, peaceful and comfortable. The entire apartment is cozy, but spacious. The living room is comfy and includes a TV, books, games and area info. The kitchen is well stocked with all the essentials plus dishes, pots, etc and even includes packages of oatmeal, coffee and a variety of teas. The bathroom is large, clean and includes all the little extras. The bedrooms are cozy with comfortable beds. To top this off, John and Lillian are some of the nicest people you'll meet.
