Historic Site
“Listed as the largest reconstructed settlement on actual historic property in North America. If the history of the battles for control of North America between the English and French empires interested you, then you must visit this site. Great for families, couples and singles. There is lots to see, do and learn, all done either self guided interpretations or guided tours. Wonderful experience for the whole family!”

Museum
“Alexander Graham Bell Museum is a good place to spend a few hours in Baddeck. If you have a National Parks Pass , you can use it for admission to any national park or national museum. If you plan on visiting several museums and going around the trail , I found an annual parks Canada pass is more economical for a family.”

“The Miner's Museum is one of the best tour's in Cape Breton. It is located in Glace Bay, NS. It also offers an excellent restaurant on site for lunch or supper. Then you have Renwick Brook for a nice stroll and the best chip truck ever across the street. ”

“ “It is a place where golf and landscape blend seamlessly to assure memorable shots—with clubs or camera.” -Rick Young SCOREGolf One of Cape Breton Island’s premier golf courses, Bell Bay overlooks the Bras d’Or Lakes in beautiful Baddeck. This Thomas McBroom masterpiece has incredible views from virtually every hole. The course was sculpted into the natural features of the land to make each hole very distinctive.”

Pizzeria
$
“ While I do not usually like pizza, I did try the pizza here twice, and it is very good! This place is the last to close in the village of Baddeck, and it closes at 11 pm. The pizzas are all made fresh in front of customers. There are a wide range of sizes and toppings, as well, and thick or thin crust. The atmosphere inside is very fun and lively and great for groups and families. Parking is usually available on the street in the evenings or in a parking lot next door. Both outdoor and indoor seating are available.”

Boulangerie
“The Cedar House is a local eatery that has a diner feeling. The interior is a little like a 70s time capsule, so it is interesting to visit. Everyone is very kind and nice, and locals from the Boularderie Island work in this establishment. The food ranges from sandwiches, hamburgers, and fish and chips to fresh grilled Haddock. I think that most people will be able to find something that would fit their diet on the menu. There are also huge homemade pies and cakes, extensive baked goods, and coffee. Guests may also just stop in for Strawberry, Vanilla, and Chocolate ice cream in a cone or cup without actually sitting down for a meal. I have only had the Haddock, and it was very fresh.”
