Boulangerie
“Amazing pastries! Many people in area have Alsatian roots and bakery has an abundance of local cookies, breads, pastries & donuts. Arrive early to get the best selections, they sell out! Donuts might even be warm if early enough. ”

“Small town restaurant with a locals only feel. However, they’re very friendly to non locals and the fried chick is awesome. Think of Denny’s if it’s wasnt a change and had a Tex-Mex and a salad bar. And they also have a bar. All the meat iss from the local meat market and the baked goods are all fresh from the local bakery.”

“Castroville was one of the very first cities to have electricity because of the water mill on site that was converted to generate power. The original hotel is still operated there and had a "facelift" in 2016. ”

“Joseph Schorp, the man who built the house and cabin on our property and the original owner, was the carpenter who built the pews in this church. It's a beautiful old Catholic church right on the town square.”

Parc
“While it doesn't show up on all maps as a road that accesses the river, Vienna St. is actually the best way to get to the Medina River. Koenig Park is between Berlin St. and Vienna. Walking down to the river is via a somewhat steep and kind of bumpy road, but it's worth the short hike. The park itself is a place where they frequently hold festivals and such, but it's not a typical park with playground equipment or sports fields. ”
