Getting around Uber and Lyft do pick up in this area. BWI (Baltimore Washington International) Airport is approximately 45 minutes away. Amtrak Train Station is a little over 2 miles away. Philadelphia International Airport is 55 minutes away.

  • The location relative to the downtown area and the Bay was excellent.

  • Karin was a fantastic host! She was relaxed and very accommodating. The area was very beautiful and within walking distance to some shops and restaurants. The house was very nice with hardwood floors throughout. I definitely felt like I was staying at a relative's house rather than a rental, very relaxed atmosphere.

    Amanda2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful stay. So nice to walk to the Rajat aura RS and shops and to our friends wedding just a block away. Karin's house is lovely, tasteful and well kept.

    Stu2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Karin's place is the perfect location for Havre De Grace. Easy walking to the promenade and downtown. Beautiful home to stay in as well. Karin gave us good recommendations for things to do around town and was easy to communicate with.

    Rio2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a lovely fall evening in Havre de Grace and at Karin's beautiful home. The room was exactly has described/pictured, and the location was perfect for walking everywhere in town. We were able to stroll to a local festival, walk to dinner and breakfast, walk the waterfront promenade, and browse the shops and antique stores without ever moving the car. Havre de Grace is a quaint town, and Karin was very welcoming. Highly recommend!

    Katie2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We made last minute plans to visit Havre de Grace over a holiday weekend and consider ourselves lucky that Karin was able to provide accommodations for us. Beautiful house, great location, and friendly host. What else can one ask for?

  • This is a great little spot for a mellow weekend getaway. The view out front is unreal and the surrounding area was beautiful, especially in the fall. The house itself is really cool and well thought out. It has a very rustic feel and so many little touches that made it memorable. We had a killer meal in town at steak on Main. Everything was well represented from the listing to the actual stay. Really appreciate the hospitality and recommendations. Great experience all around. Thank you.

    William2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • The space is full of light and well appointed. Great views of the bay. Not particularly private but the neighbors we encountered were all very friendly and welcoming.

    Travis2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We just finished a wonderful sister/daughter trip at Red Point Cabin. The amenities were top notch-comfortable beds, soft linens ,quality pots ,pans and knives ,large flatscreen TV and DVDs. Much care and love has gone into this cozy cabin. Even though it's mid-October I especially enjoyed the outdoor shower and hot tub (which could have been warmer). The Location was excellent as well . We watched the sun and moon set directly over the water while happily seated in the pictured Adirondack chairs. We cycled to and hiked through Elk Neck State Park -gorgeous! Sue and Mark are in the process of building a fire pit between the two properties that they own, once that's completed it will enhance the already delightful ambience. Sue was a pleasure to work with as well. Thank you

  • We had a great long weekend at the cabin. It was clean and and the decor/furnishings are comfortable and cute. The cabin is in a small residential community and the neighbors were extremely friendly and helpful. It's only a short walk to the private community beach. The beach is sandy with a pavilion/picnic tables and, because it's the bay, gentle waves and warm water-- perfect for families with kids. If you're looking for a more adult time, alcohol is permitted on private beaches and you would fit right in packing a cooler. You can watch beautiful sunsets on the water from the beach or from the cabin. The cabin's outdoor space makes great use of the waterfront location- you can see the water from the hot tub, the picnic table, and the adirondack chairs. There's also a really nice outdoor shower. Most grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores etc are about 10-15 minute drive. Elk Neck State Park is also about 10 minutes. Only a few things to be aware of: Although the cabin is very well appointed, it is pretty small. I think the most it could sleep comfortably is 4 adults and a few small kids- basically 2 adults plus a pack and play in each bedroom. The loft bed has a very low ceiling and it's right above the main room, so whoever sleeps there basically has to be the last one to bed and either be a child or not mind stooping over (no adult could stand at full height up there). The other thing is that there is a long, steep slope between the waterfront property and the bay, so you can't fish directly off the property (as we'd hoped). There is a pier very close by that you can fish off of (but, alas, out of baby monitor range). Overall, we had a very comfortable, relaxing stay. We would absolutely recommend it.

    Amit2016-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is incredible with plenty of windows. You can watch beautiful sunsets on the bay from the dining table or in the hot tub. Cozy and charming. We loved it.

  • Sue's spot was great and she was extremely communicative, would highly recommend.

    Luke2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful cabin! This charming getaway was clean, cozy, and comfortable. The host, Sue was friendly and responsive to all questions. She provided great instructions and suggestions for things to do and see. The neighborhood was a residential area with friendly neighbors, wild bird sightings, and an open view of the bay. The attractions and the town of shops and restaurants are a great plus. Elk Neck State Park is ten minutes away and has a beautiful trail to the Turkey Point lighthouse! The cabin has a cozy fireplace, a hot tub that's perfect in the cold weather, an outdoor grill, outdoor chairs on the lawn, and movies and games for groups. It was a great experience and would recommend for couples or groups! Thank you Sue!

Come enjoy this beautiful farmhouse with lots of light, a fully equipped country kitchen and a river view. The large living room has natural pine floors, views of pastures, river and passing ships. Relax in our Finnish sauna or, in the summer months, jump into the large in-ground pool. The long driveway leads to a private park-like oasis with fields, forest and trails. The yard and grounds have plenty of places for kids to play. WiFi is also available.
The house is unique because of the open floor plan, the many windows that let in lots of natural light, and beautiful views of meadow and river. The master bathroom has a king size bed and its own bathroom. Three other bedrooms share a full bathroom. One bedroom has a full sized bed. Another bedroom has a twin bed, and the last bedroom has two comfortable foam mattresses and a cot, perfect for young adults or kids.
Historic waterfront town of North East is nearby with interesting shopping. Turkey point lighthouse and park is a short drive away, as well as Fair Hill state park with 100 miles of trails. Amish country in nearby Pennsylvania is an hour drive away.
  • Perfectly situated with a Great View of the river from all the back windows! Wonderful space for a family to spread out and enjoy time together. Awesome long table for shared meals or playing games with a fireplace and nice big kitchen for hanging out. We'd definitely like to go back in the summer!

  • This home is spectacular. The morning sunrise over the Elk River is breathtaking from the back deck. The house was sparkling clean with all commodities you could ask for. Towels, clean sheets, firewood, shovel (in case of snow), microwave, toaster, soap, etc. Our hosts thought of everything and made for a wonderful trip. The price was so reasonable and my family enjoyed our stay immensely.

    Margaret2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. The location and views of the river made our stay. The house is close to the antique stores of northeast. There is tons of space in the house and it was a perfect house for three young kids who had plenty of room inside and out to play and explore. The house could easily accommodate several families. Bill and Outi were great communicators as well.

    Tiffany2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • We could not have been happier with our stay at the farmhouse. Accommodated a family of 5 adults and had everything we needed. I was pleasantly surprised to see wi-fi as a new addition. Very roomy and nice kitchen. My only wish was that it would have been summer time to enjoy the pool!

    Antonio2017-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • We were the first AirBnB guests to stay at the farmhouse, and the hosts did a great job preparing for our visit. The listing delivers exactly as described and is a wonderful place to spend a relaxing weekend. The hosts are off to a great start and I'm sure the house will be even better equipped for the next guest. We're talking about a return visit when we have more time to enjoy the surroundings at this peaceful, tucked away home were you can enjoy a view of the Elk River.

  • This is a great place for a relaxing, low key experience. It was very clean, the kitchen has what you need and it is clean, as is the rest of the house. Nothing fancy but that is just what we wanted...very comfortable and homey. The photos on the website are exactly what you get. Gorgeous views and lots of room to roam on site. And within 20-30 minutes or so are great small, historic towns to explore. We didn't have time to use the sauna or pool but they are fantastic and clean. Outi and Bill are very responsive. We highly recommend.

    Linda2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time here! The view was beautiful! The pool and sauna were super fun additions to our time there. The setting was quiet and peaceful and Bill was a very responsive and helpful host. We would love to come back sometime.

The Cottage is newly renovated with vintage, handmade and reclaimed details. We are located right on the famed Chesapeake Bay with a seasonal dock right out front as well as a quarter mile beach down the street with boat ramp access and sandy bottom swimming areas. Sunsets are spectacular with lots of wildlife .... bald eagles and nesting osprey. We are conveniently located between Philadelphia and Baltimore, across the water from Havre de Grace and 30 minutes south of University of Delaware.
  • Sue's place is really great. Right on the bay. Incredibly well decorated and well appointed cabin made from reclaimed pieces of her old fishing cabin. Its really cozy and fun to hang out in. Sue was also really hospitable and kind.

  • We stayed a week in this lovely cottage overlooking the bay. Beautifully appointed with fantastic kitchen and great comfort and amenities, the place is luxurious and cozy and quiet and restful. Love the stone fireplace! Perfect for our getaway from the city. Sue and Mark are friendly and wonderful hosts and have thought of everything one might desire. We highly recommend this spot for future guests.

  • This is a beautiful vacation home, with many thoughtful touches. Sue is a great host. My family of four was very comfortable. The home, located in a private community, is within a very short walk of a beach, boat launch and dock. There is an impressive view of the Chesapeake Bay from the front of the home. We enjoyed visiting the beach at Elk Neck State Park and the restaurants and shops on Main Street, North East, MD (both 10 minutes from the home).

  • Gretta and Will were incredibly welcoming and warm! We had a wonderful time staying at their home - an absolutely beautiful mid century style house. Everything was great, we had good time talking and sharing out past travel experiences, they also provided us very good recommendations on restaurants and places to visit. The house itself is amazing - clean, beautifully decorated, a lot of natural sunlight, and our room has a beautiful view of the backyard. The location is great too - only couple blocks away from the waterfront and close to main street and everything. This will be one of our unforgettable memories!

    Yuna2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • From beginning to end was a breeze! We kept in touch by text before I arrived. The moment I met Greta and Will, I was over the moon and we connected immediately. I ended up spending hours in the den just chatting away and hanging out with them! Also, totally trust their opinion on food if you ask directly, true foodies in the house. I came in for 3 nights, also for a wedding like most prior guests (if you're flying in from BWI, rent a car). Totally forgot my travel steamer, and they had one! I was surprised and relieved, it's not something most people have handy. Every detail was there (water in room, towels, guide binder on the town, etc.) way more interesting than staying at a hotel. Honestly if there is anything you need that you don't see, just ask. I was welcomed with a tour of the impeccable, gorgeous house (complete weakness for mid century) and wanted to shop the basement of mid century goodies. Also made friends with the kitties, super calm and friendly, barely make a peep. Rosco slept with me the first night, haha! The third night, I ended up spending the afternoon through the end of the day with the two, and I honestly have not had a more stellar experience beyond expectations for an Airbnb in the US. These two, and the home are completely worth the drive. And Havre de Grace itself is a small, quaint, charming town easy to explore and walk around. Neighborhood is quiet. When you come to stay, don't just run to your room (which is in a separate 'wing' of the house), and not come out to chat. Would really be a waste if you don't get to know them. I cannot wait to come back and visit. I literally made friends for life, we keep in touch after I left, and that's part of why Airbnb is so amazing.

    Helen2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable room in a great mid-20th Century architectural gem right in town and a block and a half from the water—sooo much better than a cookie cutter motel off I-95. Will and Greta are lovely, laid-back hosts.

    Mary Lynn2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous home! Comfortable and clean. My hosts were the warmest people and I could' have asked for a better stay! Looking forward to my next visit!

    Andrea2017-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Will and Greta were great with communication, greeted us promptly upon arrival, and clearly explained all their house rules right up front so we knew their expectations and requirements of us as guests (they also provided a binder in the room with all of the house rules plus some recommendations for local restaurants/attractions). Their unique mid-century modern home has a fascinating history, and is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in easy walking distance to the waterfront and downtown shops and restaurants of charming, "quirky" Havre de Grace.

  • Cheryl was a great hostess! Her place is right by the water and within walking distance to downtown restaurants and shops. We had a great time!

    Nora2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl's home is a breath of fresh air. The living space on the first floor was a cozy hangout for my friends and I. The kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast, and the house is a short walk to restaurants. A highlight for us was the porch-- there's big table with a view of the water which we enjoyed.

    Allison2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location in Havre de Grace. Close enough to walk into town but also far enough to not be in the middle of it all. Great, relaxing view from the back deck. Cute and crafty space all around. Cheryl is very hospitable and easy to work with. May have to come back!

    Elise2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl's place is in a neighborhood but within walking distance to antique stores and some pretty unique restaurants. We especially enjoyed The Vineyard for tapas and an interesting wine list. The Vintage Cafe served a simple but delicious breakfast. We were there over a Friday night and the block downtown was closed off and craft and antique vendors lined the streets—Cheryl says this happens every first Friday of the month. The house itself is clean, creatively decorated, and has a lovely view of the river. We enjoyed our stay at Cheryl's place and would absolutely return.

    Mandy2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and comfortable home with very original furnishings. Fell in love with back bedroom with windows overlooking the Susquehanna River--peaceful and lovely. Bed was comfortable. Although we only made coffee, Cheryl had any type of utensil we would need to make a meal--very user friendly kitchen. The front porch is adorable with rocking chairs and the back deck is very nice--although we did not have time or accommodating weather to use it. We walked into town our first night after traveling for 6 hours and it felt good to stretch our legs. Easy walk around town with restaurants, stores, shops within an easy walk. We were out quite late and did not feel uncomfortable with the surroundings. We would definitely stay here again. Cheryl responded quickly to are questions and was very accommodating--allowing us to arrive late and also leave late if we needed.

    Mary2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this house if you're visiting Havre de Grace. Great location; walkable to most places in town. The house is adorable and very comfortable. Cheryl is an excellent host who goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect.

The bed was ulta comfy, our room had of the all personal products you'd need, extremely hospitable hosts and we loved Millie and Maggie.... They made us feel very much at home. LOVE how the house is immaculately clean and well appointed.

  • The room was very nice and met our needs perfectly. Steven was a great host and the house is lovely.

  • Steven & John were great and flexible about meeting us there on arrival. We would definitely stay there again as another guest we met was doing a repeat stay. The king room with private bath was phenomenal with a huge flat screen TV with a remote you could speak your shows or channels into. It also had an Alexa system like ours near the bed that would answer questions or play the music of your choice. We have a scenic back yard with woods, wildlife & water too, so it was like being home. John even pointed out a beaver swimming in the creek and explained how part of the island was formed. He also told us about the historic Alexander home next door where George Washington slept 3 days before hosting British General Howe who must have convinced to swear allegiance to the crown, since he then fled to London, leaving his wife. His vast holdings (most of the land now known as Elkton) were seized, but his wife was allowed to keep the house. John also recommended a choice of restaurants with food delivery and their menus. I asked about local diners the next morning and we loved the old school pharmacy he suggested downtown with a lunch counter and 3 booths. Food was very good and reasonably priced from both. Thanks John & Steven for being 5 star hosts

We wanted to share that beautiful setting with her, and explore a bit of the upper Chesapeake Bay Area while she was on the East Coast. Thanks, Steven and John. It was the perfect getaway.

  • We stayed in John and Steven's home for one night while driving through Elkton. The room was incredibly comfortable and cozy, and everything was spotless. The bed was super comfy and we slept like babies. John was friendly and hospitable and made sure we had everything we needed. Unfortunately, we had to leave early the next morning, so we could not enjoy the beautiful creek in the backyard, but it was lovely to look at in the morning.

  • Rhonda and Jack were great hosts! The room was clean and cozy and Jack's suggestions were most helpful: Woody's and the lighthouse. The pool was very enjoyable. We look forward to visiting again and we most definitely recommend their place!

    Robby2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda's house is a real beauty in a lovely quiet area. We arrived really late because of traffic and poor weather and she waited patiently for us. Everything is super clean and just as described. Thanks to Rhonda and your husband you even get to start with a full stomach of waffles in the day.

    Tabea2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda and Jack are the most hospitable airbnb hosts I have ever met. I felt so comfortable at their home. I looked forward to coming home to their sweet dog Reese and their friendly cat KitKat. The place was remarkably clean! They made delicious beautiful breakfasts for us, even when we were up super early in the morning! This is an excellent place to stay for photographers visiting the Conowingo dam, just under a thirty minute drive and super affordable!! Thank you so much Rhonda and Jack!

    Ilana2017-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda and Jack were great hosts! We had delicious waffles and fresh raspberries for breakfast. The beds were so comfy and the house offered proper spacing for our privacy. We would absolutely go back if the opportunity permitted itself.

    Lynne2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda's airbnb is a lovely place to stay! They are so kind and helpful..

    Deann2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Two things you usually look forward to when you make a booking on Airbnb are a comfortable clean place and nice people. Our stay with Rhonda met both these basic requirements. Rhonda and her husband were amazing hosts- very warm and welcoming. We were running behind our schedule and arrived at her place past midnight. She was waiting for us to arrive and was so nice to us. Next morning, she and her husband served us full coarse breakfast (amazing waffles, etc). The house was very clean and comfortable. They did everything to make our stay comfortable and memorable. I would highly recommend staying at Rhonda’s place and would do it myself next time I am in the area again.

Peaceful, cozy cottage with modern amenities in a water-oriented community along the Bohemia River. Just minutes from Chesapeake City and located across the street from the water. Tucked away and off the beaten path, our house is perfect for family vacations, tranquil retreat, a girl's/guy's getaway.
with 3 bedrooms each w/private bath. Huge kitchen and cozy living area with lots of space to gather and hang out. If you can see yourself spending hours staring into your loved ones eyes or are content playing board games with some fine wine, Earleville is calling your name! This is a country cottage and provides the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of every day life. I say 3 bedrooms but there are actually 4, however the 4th bedroom only has an air mattress, however you are welcome to use if you have extra guests or children.
Enjoy the peace and serenity our home offers. Keep to the "community walk" areas when exploring the beach river and neighborhood.
  • We were so pleased with our stay. The place is so perfect for a relaxing getaway to the Chesapeake. You can walk to a great beach area and a boat launch! Teresa was very hospitable and communicative. We liked it so much and fell in love with the quaintness of the neighborhood. Would recommend and rent again!

  • Nice place. Quiet and easy to find.

    Jason2017-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house is cozy and just what we were looking for -- a quiet place to stay with the feel of home. Great home base for our guys weekend, right by the water (though not on the water). There is no TV/cable or internet at the house, but that was not a problem for us. We had some issues with the water, but Theresa responded right away and was able to get it fixed at least temporarily for the rest of our stay. She was a fantastic host, very helpful and accommodating, from booking through to checkout.

    John2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a nice place to visit. We were here to do something else over the weekend. We want to come back in the summer when we have no functions elsewhere and enjoy the river and do some Kayaking. The place was warm and inviting. I could also just stay in and finish writing that novel I never started.

  • We had a wonderful stay! Great communication and a really comfortable house.

    Sarah2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, very cool location with walking distance to the beach. Wifi, tv, quiet neighbors. The house is spacious and clean. We've spent over a week there and there was a lot to do in the area (renaissance fair, du pont house, baltimore, washington). Definitely recommended!

    Robert2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Theresa was super helpful and responsive. We loved staying so close to Chateau Bu-de where we were attending a family wedding. The house was a little dusty/cobwebby but other than that we had no complaints!

    Katharine 2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Theresa's house was a great place to stay! We loved the well-stocked kitchen, ceiling fans, and outdoor space. The quiet neighborhood was nice too. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks!

Come stay for a weekend or a week! You will love the private setting in the woods far from the road. Close to the area marinas and fine dining. Kayaks and bikes available. Large private deck for outdoor fun and BBQ. Cozy up to the wood stove (wood/starters provided) for that REAL log home feeling and romance. Hosts are on premises. Please, no pets.
Spacious 2nd floor apartment with outside entrance and large deck overlooking woods. VERY private. Not handicap accessible. Bedroom, Sun Room/Den, Full kitchen/Bar, no dishwasher. Bath with shower stall. No washer and dryer but laundry service available for a fee. There is a pull out sofa bed in the sunroom and a sofa as well for additional sleeping options.
Our cabin sits on 9 wooded acres which adjoins our neighbors wooded property and farm fields. You will see wildlife including deer, turkeys, rabbits, crazy squirrels, ect. A bird feeder near the deck always entertains. Area attractions include wineries, fine dining and marinas and swimming areas. This apartment is best suited for couples only as there are no amenities for children and also safety issues because it is on 2nd floor. Please make sure that anyone with a disability in your group is comfortable using stairs.
  • This place is truly a dream. The space is beautiful, spotless, cozy, and private. The hosts were very helpful and gave us great recommendations for what to do during our weekend. It's so quiet and scenic, and a perfect getaway from the real World. I can't recommend this place enough!

  • Awesome place to stay! Beautiful private space, Everything you could ask for and more!

  • Dottie and George's log cabin was even nicer than the pictures! We were definitely impressed. They were super nice and friendly hosts who communicated well. They even stocked the fridge with some basics that were much appreciated! Thanks again for making the trip great!

    Trevor2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for rest, quiet, and an opportunity for reflection and personal time. Dorothy's hospitality is super. Very clean with unexpected niceties in the frig! I recommend it.

    Greg2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We chose to stay here to be close to a wedding reception we were attending in this area. There are very few, if any, options for lodging nearby. Communication with Dottie was very good. George was there to greet us, show us around, and chat awhile. We enjoyed the log cabin experience! The decor is hunting oriented. Very nice kitchen, well stocked with pots, pans, glassware, etc. They were kind to have eggs, english muffins, milk, condiments and even beer and wine in the refrig for us. Our space on the second floor included a tv room and deck overlooking the backyard. We liked the ceiling fans. There were magazines and literature/brochures for local things, which was appreciated. We brought our bikes and rode 20 miles up and back to a local winery. The back roads were very scenic with little traffic. And a good shoulder for riding on the bigger roads. There are actually several wineries in the area, and a "wine trail". Lots of historical markers in the area also. If you like a quiet place in the woods, this is it!

    Carol2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This house and location are amazing and Dot is beyond wonderful. They were helpful and gracious hosts. The space is beautifully decorated and it really is a truly authentic log cabin experience. Just Wow!

    Ben2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is absolutely beautiful, and Dorothy was very quick to respond to any questions we had. The location is surely off the beaten path, but we'd totally recommend this spot to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing stay in the Eastern Shore!

    Kyle2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our host Dottie made us feel welcome and comfortable. The condition and appointments were much better than I had expected and I would definitely not hesitate to stay again or recommend it to friends and families.

  • Christine provided a mattress (in the public dining room area) and sheets and everything I needed. The situation was very comfortable, perfect for my needs, and the best deal in town or anywhere close-by. I'd recommend Christine's rental to any working person who just needs a place to stay, sleep, take meals, and use the bathroom and shower, while working in the area. Christine was very kind and responsive in terms of everything. The place was great.

This modern cottage is set on a bluff overlooking the bay and is great for your quiet romantic or family trip in all seasons. Minutes from I 95. Great fishing, restaurants, antiquing, cinema, tax free shopping, bicycling, hiking, Elk Neck State Park and casinos all within 15 miles of the house. Fully equipped kitchen. All clean linens and towels provided. Open floor plan. Lovingly appointed. High ceilings, lots of local art. Huge front deck, patio in rear. Private beach 5 min walk down street.
Funky, cozy, chic and relaxing. Lots of space to hang out either inside or outside the cottage. Great collection of art made by local artists and friends. 13 side by side windows allow a gorgeous view of nature from every location in main living space. Open floor plan. Tile and laminate throughout. Great house for staying in all weekend, and great beds if you spend your time exploring the surrounding area and only come back to sleep. Lots of games and books for rainy days. Thoroughly clean with attention to detail. Gas fireplace for autumn and winter visitors. Three private bedrooms, one is in adorable remodeled bunkhouse out back (Available seasonally). Refrigerator full of condiments, kitchen full of pots and pans and small appliances. Bathroom has soaking tub and shower equipped with toiletries.
Great neighborhood. Very quiet. Especially in off season. Fall Foliage is remarkable!
  • This cozy cottage is exactly as it's described. It's incredibly comfortable with couches and pillows and excellent mattresses. It was very clean and had absolutely everything I needed. I spent most of my time hiking in the nearby area and hanging out on the delightful front porch where I had access to comfortable lounge chairs and an umbrella if needed to escape the heat. The sunset was spectacular right on the water. Highly recommended!

  • My writers group stayed in the cottage for a weekend and it was the PERFECT spot for quiet, comfortable writing time. The kitchen was well-equipped, the beds were comfortable, and we were cozy and warm even though it was cold outside. Great place!

  • This was our second time staying at Becky's cottage, and as before, everything was perfect. Becky's place is lovely, but comfortable, with the sense of being someone's much-loved second home. That means that you don't feel you're imposing, as we've found in a couple other Airbnbs. The setting is great too, and Becky is a good host. We would recommend it to anyone.

    Bonnie2016-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We visited for two nights over Labor Day weekend. Our group was 4 adults and two toddlers. Despite the rain, we really enjoyed ourselves. The neighborhood is adorable and it's a short walk to the beach. We had fun exploring near the house and walking around downtown North East. While the girls were sleeping, the adults were able to enjoy the front porch and the living area indoors. The house is cozy, so if you're bringing kids, be prepared to share a room with them and bring white noise machines. We set up the pack-n-plays in the bedrooms in the house, which worked out just fine. The only downside is that one of the bedroom doors sticks quite a bit so we weren't able to fully close the door to the room because to get it open made so much noise that it would wake the toddler. If you have a very light sleeper, this could be an issue. And the squeaky bathroom door sounds extra loud in the middle of the night and we were worried about it waking up the kids. Otherwise, the house is adorable and comfortable and we really enjoyed ourselves! It was perfect for a quick weekend getaway with friends.

  • Accurate description. Lovely cottage.

    Shawn2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • As clean as it was cozy, with plenty of space for my family of 4 in the main house. We didn't even use the bunkhouse. The kids loved looking for seashells and unique rocks on the beach, and watching local dogs play fetch in the water. Neighbors were friendly and accommodating with answers to questions about the area. A remote feel but within 15 minutes of shopping and restaurants.

  • Christine is mindful of her guests needs and very accommodating of her guests requests. There was one other long term guest and another short term one at one time, both of whom we rarely see, so we had the house to ourselves most of the time. We liked the newness of the flooring, the kitchen and the bathrooms as they had undergone renovation, although some features are still undergoing work like the electric outlets which gave minor inconvenience and was no big deal to us. There were neighboring houses but the setting was in a rural area and was near some campsites, and the highway that has all the shops we need are about a 10 minute drive.

  • I would recommend this place for a great experience, It is exactly what I was looking for. Great price, comfortable lodging.

    Gary2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Hardwood floors = shoes off at the entrance tile landing so bring some house slippers. Lower level of the house is under renovation. Industrial fridge (no freezer) is in the garage. I didn't have great cell reception but the WiFi worked well. GPS/(SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps had reported I had arrived a quarter of a mile prior to the actual location of the house. Christine was very responsive and understanding of my 2am late arrival (medical emergency caused delays). She had indicated that checkout was at 11am but when I mentioned that the posting said 3pm, she was quick to contact her next guests for the following day. Unfortunately, during my stay, another person staying at the house ran the coffee grinder in the morning and thus, preventing any additional sleep to be had. The shower ran cold or didn't warm up at all. Not sure if it was because both showers were being used or if it was because someone had a load of laundry running in the washer machine or another reason. There are multiple rooms so make sure you know which room you're getting to ensure you're getting what you expect (i.e. full vs. queen sized bed).

  • I love this home and its grounds. The backyard is underrepresented in these pictures. It is gorgeous. The home is very beautiful, and its surroundings are nice and quiet. The best thing, as well, is that Steven and John are so helpful and hospitable. They were fabulous with our young sons and with us. Wonderful staying there!

  • My stay was fantastic! Comfortable bed, beautiful home, cutie pups too. Steven and John were very accommodating with my late check-in. The view from the sunroom and kitchen will draw you in regardless of any schedule you may have. The bathroom had everything; lotions, shampoo, hair dryer, etc. Large and well lit. Good coffee selection as well. Everything was wonderful! Most certainly will stay here again if I make the trip back up north.

  • Steven and John were so gracious to host us in their home over the Thanksgiving holidays- very welcoming and hospitable in every way. The accommodations are above and beyond, comfy cozy, and peaceful. There was even a Christmas tree set up in our room! And don't even get me started on the backwoods, creek views from their kitchen and sunroom- it's stunning! We will be back to - a wonderful experience!

They are within walking distance to some great restaurants and parks. We loved being close to the water and watching the wildlife. They were so thoughtful and welcoming. We loved the added touch of wine, cheese & crackers in our suite. We hope to return in the future!

  • Awesome, can't say enough. Never got to meet Kate, but I feel like I know her forever. Stayed 2 nights. Came and went as we pleased. The grounds, house, and hospitality were bar none. What can I not say about Franco. Green thumb, hard worker, nature enthusiast, great conversations had. Boy can he do a mean wash. My clothes smell like they came out if his garden. • Caye and Franco were excellent hosts and communicated with us throughout our stay. (And even after, since I left some things behind and they were so gracious to mail them to me.) The location was excellent...on the river and in town. (The best of both worlds.) The carriage house was adorable and just perfect for what we were looking for, not to mention their beautiful gardens. It was so inviting to walk around and see all the different plants and flowers. Also we appreciated that they left us information about places to eat in the area.

    Laura2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Not only was the Carriage House private, offering a view of the creek and separate from the house, it's within walking distance to the park and downtown. Just outside town on the same road? The state park and lighthouse. Caye greeted us with fresh-ground coffee and had prosecco, cheese and crackers waiting for us in the apartment. It was raining, so she also lent us an umbrella. We had a lovely weekend and enjoyed exploring the shops on Main Street.

    Jessica2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Caye was waiting for us when we arrived. She gave us information ahead of time so that we knew how to get there and what to expect.

    Beth2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the Carriage House. It is totally private, in a separate building. It is nicely decorated and has all the basics, from bed and seating area to small kitchen to roomy bathroom. The A/C and fans kept us at just the right temperature. If you are late risers, you may want to keep the windows closed, as the geese on the creek, and the church bells, start sounding early. The room looks out on the yard to the creek. What’s great is you get the best of both worlds – nature around the house, yet an easy stroll to town for a variety of restaurants and shops. One of our hosts, Franco, built the Carriage House, with details including the Victorian latticework on the house. The furnishings, floors, and fixtures reflect his craftsmanship. He also showed us a nearby house that he has lovingly restored, built in 1794!

Awnings (there are 2!) on the upper deck provide delightful shade, with a ceiling fan in the lower porch. Outdoor tables on the deck and breezeway invite card playing or game nights, as does the outdoor grill. Cushioned rocking love seats and chairs complete the prescription for 'everything the doctor ordered!' The gas fireplaces in the dining room and the lower living room add immediate warmth and welcome on colder days. Two large screen TVs with Netflix accessibility and Internet allow you catch up on movies and series.
Chesapeake Isle is a private community. The neighbors are delightful and friendly. The town of Northeast is 10 miles away. It's a good idea to market and shop before starting down RT This house is in a private community called Chesapeake Isle. It is entirely residential and situated in the middle of the Elk Neck State Park.

  • Bev's house is a wonderful, large, very comfortable vacation home with a drop dead view of the gentle Elk River, perfectly visible from almost every room in the house; yet you are several hundred feet away so the house is quiet and private and secluded. It is only a short walk across a green, gently sloping field from the backyard to the dock, kayak and boat launch and fishing, all of which Bev supplied. There are multiple living/family rooms, and seversl places to eat. The kitchen is stockd with everything imaginable, from a full complement of utensils, dishes, wine glasses, two (2) full-size convection oven, a rotisserie toaster/oven, Jenn Air cooktop grill, wine cooler/refrigerator, outdoor propane grill, etc. She has more spices, condiments, accoutrements, canned good, fresh ground coffee tha: wow, Bev fogot nothing! The bedrooms are tastefully decorated, very comfortable, air-conditioned (except for the loft), washer-drier, outdoor shower, indoor Jacuzzi tub, outdoor hot tub, 3 huge wide-screen flat TVs, fully stocked bathrooms with nice toiletries, soaps, etc. Bev thought of every detail, more than I would have ever expected from an AirBNB. Check-in was a flash; check out was just as easy, and Bev has been extremely flexible about any request, and anticipated virtually every question in her instructions and interim text messages. For Philadelphia area folks who think primarily of the NJ shore, or somtimesthe DE shore, the Chesapeake is just as beautiful, much less crowded, more peaceful and bucolic, and no further than the nearest NJ shore community. (It was 1 hr. 20 mins. door to door from the western Philly suburbs to Bev's place.) It accommodates 6 easily in the 3 bedrooms, and perhaps 8 if you don't mind the heat and humidity in the loft with futon, which has a ceiling fan, but can still be uncomfortable on some particularly hot and humid nights. This is a great bargain for everything that is included and the thoughtfulness of this wonderful hostess. We look forward to returning again.

  • Bev and Steve’s place was the perfect getaway where our two families and grandparents could enjoy a relaxing trip and spend some quality time together. The kitchen is amazing and well stocked and we prepared many meals together there. There is a nice bar/breakfast area right by the kitchen which is great for casual dining and hanging out. We played games in the dining room, living room and in the lower level family room. We hiked on the lovely turkey point lighthouse trail that is less than mile from the house. We enjoyed the amazing views of the water that you can see from almost any room in the house or from the wrap around deck that spans the whole back of the house. The house is clean, tastefully decorated, and filled with amenities and fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. You can walk down the backyard to the pier where you can fish or kayak or to the small beach area. We didn’t have time for that, but loved that we had the option. If you are unfamiliar with the area, the house is located within a private residential community that is nestled within the elk neck state park. It is a nice, quiet neighborhood, and the park setting is beautiful. It’s about 20 minutes to the town of Northeast, which has little shops, restaurants— we dined Woody’s crab house which has now become my favorite crab house in all of md (and I grew up in md)! The bedrooms are comfortable and well arranged- a master suite on main level, and two bedrooms in the lower level. There’s also a loft above the main level with a comfortable futon, but it does get very warm up there on warm days. The steps to both the lower level and loft are kind of steep and small, so you do have to use extra caution, especially with kids or elderly. We had an issue with a sulphur smell in the hot water from the tap when we first arrived. However, we got in touch with Bev and Steve quickly and they helped us resolve the issue easily. They were a pleasure to communicate with and were very accessible both before and during our stay. It felt like we were staying in a friend’s home and we enjoyed every minute!

Our beautiful English Manor home was built for the TV show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. We have two guest bedrooms both with private bathrooms. If necessary my son can be talked into renting out his room. Located on a 58 acre horse farm you can look out the windows and see horses and deer. You can relax in our home or on the patio, take long walks on the trails in the woods, take horse back riding lessons or go on a trail ride. Very nice restaurants are near by.
  • Beautiful home on a beautiful horse farm! Renee and Patrick were terrific hosts. One added bonus was sitting in the jacuzzi in the backyard at night while listening to all of the crickets and other animals ;-) The peace and calm was much needed for these "city-slickers" from Philly! I highly recomend staying here and will definitely be back.

  • We stopped at Susan's place to break up a drive home to NC from Massachusetts, and it was perfect! My 2 daughters were with me, and we had plenty of space and very comfortable beds. We found a great pizza place very nearby (Nino's), and had fun watching a movie as we relaxed from a long day of driving. Thanks Susan!

I had reservations about staying in someone's home just as most would a complete stranger but by the end of my stay I felt like I was part of her family and have known her all my life. She couldn't have been more caring and understanding! If your looking for a place to crash or if your going to be here long term(30 days) like I was, choose Eunice!

  • An's place is lovely. The property has garden, wooded area, chickens, rabbits, and sheep. One of the sheep gave birth overnight during our visit!! There is also a very friendly small dog and a few outdoor cats, also friendly. The room itself is really huge, has a private bathroom with a jacuzzi. Very clean. We were there in the summer and air conditioning was working very well, kept us nice and cool. I also loved that there are so many windows in the room, and a skylight, very bright and airy. The only thing we didn't like was that the mattress was old and not the most comfortable. And note that the bed is not a queen. Overall, it was a very good place to stay. We will be back!

  • Picturesque Woodland Retreat is the title of this Airbnb and it is just that. The grounds are lovely with many trees and a pond area that is alive with wildlife. The house is wonderful with many areas to relax in with many views of the beautiful grounds. The host, Thomas, is very knowledgeable in many areas such as art, theater and history. He makes you feel comfortable as though you were in your own home. Breakfast is served each morning and is quite good. The bnb is close to many attractions in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania such as the Wilmington and Western Railroad, Longwood Gardens and Winterthur. We would stay here again if we were in the area

  • This was a beautiful home perfectly nestled in the woods. Wow! The views from every area of the home are breathtaking! When we were getting ready to leave we saw a bald eagle, what a beautiful sight! Thomas was a gracious host inviting us into his home like we we're family. We look forward to coming back again soon. Thank you again Thomas for the amazing breakfast- that I wasn't expecting. Those scrambled eggs we're amazing along with the other breakfast treats! It has very spacious rooms and various areas to entertain if you choose to rent the entire space. We definitely recommend staying at this beautiful 1 of a kind home.

  • Anchorage was a great place to stay for our big group of friends. I highly recommend people consider this location!

    Ryan2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This property is great, especially for family reunions or other gatherings with many people. Each of the bedrooms was equally lovely (most seem to have king beds); the bathrooms were comfortable and clean; there was a lovely view, especially at sunset; and there was plenty of common and private space for our group with room to spare. It was also particularly great for our group because it was spacious enough that we were able to corral our (loud-in-the-morning) kids and parents on one side of the building, away from other adults who liked to sleep later; and there was plenty of room for folks to eat since there are essentially two different dining rooms with three tables each. There were also two adjacent sitting rooms, and a den/family room near the kitchen, which left plenty of space to play and hang out, including nearby while folks were cooking. The lawn outside was great and the kids had a ton of fun running around and playing soccer and frisbee on it. Our only (exceedingly small) complaints were that the kitchen got a bit crowded when there were multiple people preparing food in it, and that the pool was a bit cold (presumably mostly because the weather wasn't particularly warm when we were there). But overall, it was a fantastic trip, and we couldn't think more highly of our hosts, who went out of their way to show us around the property, make sure we had everything we needed, respond quickly to all our requests, and even offer to mail us back an item they'd found that we'd left behind. We would 100% consider returning, and we definitely recommend the place, especially to folks who have a similar group composition to us (i.e., several families and a number of other adults).

    Dina2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at The Anchorage for our annual college reunion and had a great time! The rooms were clean and we had all the amenities we needed. Everyone enjoyed their time at the pool, but it did require constant cleaning. Perhaps a pool cover could help. We would definitely recommend this place!

    Mireille2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • We rented the whole Anchorage for my bachelor party for 15 guys and it couldn't have been better. We are a bit older and we wanted the seclusion of all hanging out with each other but still having nice accommodations. They all said this was the nicest place they had ever stayed in for a bachelor party. Hannah was easy to work with and there was nothing more we would have wanted.

    Alex2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our HUGE group of 30 had a wonderful time at The Anchorage. Our group was made up of people ages 6 months to 48 years old and we didn't feel cramped. We really enjoyed the pool during the day and the fire pit at night. The historical house is well-kept, and beautiful. The kitchen is on the tighter side if you're planning on cooking with more than 3 people at a time. There are horse flies on the property since it's on a working farm. So, plan to bring bug spray! We'll definitely be returning again!

    Hanna2017-07-01T00:00:00Z

Located away from traffic in a quiet forest yet not far from the fun, quaint town of North East-Home to the great crab and seafood restaurant, Woody's! This house is connected to our main house but it's very private. One bedroom, full bath, living room, kitchenette.
THE HOUSE HAS JUST BEEN RENOVATED (summer 2016) -new bathroom, new kitchenette with granite counter tops and custom made cabinets. New tile floor has been installed at the entrance, in the kitchenette and in the bathroom. This house has a beautiful family room. The kitchen corner is equipped with basic small appliances, such as microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and a small fridge/freezer, and an electric stove. The living room also has its own deck and has a 50 inch flat panel TV with a Direct TV package, leather sofa and an armchair. The bedroom is large with a queen size bed, closet, dresser, washer and dryer, and a couch. We are busy people so you may not see us too much but that being said we are very approachable/available and willing to help make your stay as great as possible. It's very remote!

  • This place is located on a dirt road just off a paved road. It sits in the woods. It is very peaceful. The place is very clean. The bed was comfortable. We met Mark while there. We had some questions about some things in the area - he was very friendly and very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions. This is a great place to stay!

  • Peaceful, quiet and secluded. If your looking to getaway from the city or just need some peace and quiet this location will provide just that. The place is very clean and smells amazing. Very comfortable and affordable. Also this is in the town of North East so make sure you go to dinner at "woody's" and order the rockfish app or hit up the Man vs Food staple "steak and main". Also head to the lighthouse for the ultimate Chesapeake Bay experience.

  • This place is great. Very secluded, saw lots of deer on the lane to and from the house. Stars at night are awesome. It feels fresh and is very clean. The Tempur-pedic bed is very comfy. There is a great kitchenette for making food. Plenty of parking for our boat and just a short drive to the town of North East. This was a weekend getaway for us and we look forward to visiting Mark and Dany again!

  • Mark and Dany were very accommodating. They stayed in touch with us via text message even though we never actually got to meet them in person. They were both helpful and respectful of our privacy. The apartment was set up tastefully and adequately, with a few nice extra touches. The place was very quiet and restful, perfect for a short get-away in the woods but also within a short distance of North East, Elk Neck State Park, and other places of interest.
