“Thai seafood restaurant right on the beach front. A fish lovers’ heaven, Platoo, named after the Thai word for mackerel, whips up a wide list of fish dishes from salt-coated grilled sea bass to deep-fried grouper with three-flavored sauce. But it is the platoo that’s the real highlight, served as either delicious tom yam soup or stir-fried with chili paste. 241/44 Ruamchit Rd. 032-451-355, 032-508-175. Open daily 10am-10pm. www.platoorestaurant.com”

“Maruekhathaiyawan Palace between Cha-Am and Hua Hin was build by King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) as a seaside summer retreat in 1923. Originally, the King had a Palace built on Hat Chao Samran beach, a little more North, but he was unhappy with it and decided to demolish the building and use the teak wood to construct a new Palace facing the sea in Cha-Am district. The location was found convenient because Cha-Am was by then connected to Bangkok by rail and the area was beneficial to health with its forest and fresh sea air.”

“Love Bread always provides great baked goods (soft pretzels are my fav) and great coffee! Recently I've discovered that their set breakfast options are great! Egg dishes with fresh greens and amazing sauces. They are a must-try for breakfast lovers! I have never been disappointed with Love Bread whether I am going for a fast bite, luxuriously long meal or stopping by for a cool smoothie. ”
