“This is a legendary jazz club $$. This Neon lit bar has been around for 107 years with a funky atmosphere. It is an Uptown landmark, famously an old hangout of Al Capone. Check the web site for performances. Sunday evening for the weekly internationally acclaimed poetry slam. Covers charge between $4-$15 depending on the band. It is a cash only bar, they do not serve food and do not have a dress code. If you talk during performances they give you the stink eye. They have a free parking lot one block west at Lawrence & Magnolia. 9 min drive, 20 min Transit, 40 min walk from our house.”
