Set in a historic farm courtyard dating back to 1860, our lovely barn is entirely self contained yet adjacent to our Devon farmhouse near the sea. Newly converted with luxurious bed, pretty kitchen, roll top bath and cosy sitting room. Rural retreat!
The barn is a lovely private space for a romantic break for two. It has it's own kitchen, bathroom with roll top bath, sitting room with wood burner, and kingsize bed with White Company bed linens and towels provided. There is a hot tub in the garden for guests to enjoy. The kitchen is well equipped with a mini dishwasher, microwave, electric hob and oven, toaster, Nespresso machine, kettle etc.
The barn is situated adjacent to our farmhouse in the heart of one thousand acres of glorious Devon farmland. Set in a historic cobbled courtyard dating back to 1860, we are one mile from the sea and many beautiful beaches. Ten minutes walk into the village of Chillington with village shop and post office, five minutes drive to the beach with fantastic seafood pubs and cafe's to enjoy a cream tea! Very peaceful rural location yet so much to explore on the doorstep. We live in a real foodie area and can recommend many amazing places to eat nearby.
  • After our wedding a few very busy months, our 'minimoon' at Swallows' Flight was just what we needed. Lucia and her family were the perfect hosts and Lucia has thought of all the smallest details, from a bottle of bubbly and shortbread to on arrival, to drinks and snacks for our long journey home. The barn is cosy and luxurious, with an amazingly comfortable bed, duvet, pillows and linen, and the roll top bath and hot tub made our stay very relaxing! Despite being right next door to The main house, we had our own space for our entire stay, though Lucia was on hand for any questions we had. Absolutely perfect!

  • We had the most incredible time at swallows flight. The barn is beautiful, amazing views, with everything you need inside, even good cooking utensils, which you rarely get. The roll top bath was gorgeous, and although we didn't brave the hot tub (too scared of the cold on the run back!!), it would have been great to sit and stare at the stars. Lucy, Dan and the family were very welcoming (great coffee dan), and told us all about the local area and where to go. I cannot recommend it highly enough and we will definitely be back soon. Thank you so much, it was the relaxing break we really needed.

  • Swallows Flight it absolutely perfect for a truly relaxing break. Buried in the beautiful Devon countryside is this amazing gem! The barn is beautifully converted, so so cosy and overlooks fields of bouncing lambs which is lovely to watch as you sit in the bay window with a cup of tea. The hot tub and wood burner ensured that when we came back from a chilly walk, we were cosy and warm in no time! Would go back in an instant and hope to visit again in the summer to make the most of the gorgeous surroundings. The recommendations for places to eat were much appreciated and we had the best fish and chips we've ever had! Can't say enough good things about our stay!

  • Gorgeous place in a wonderful location! Wish we could have stayed longer!

    Sarah2018-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing weekend! Lucia and Dan were very welcoming upon arrival and throughout our stay. The barn was spotless, and exactly as the images portray - gorgeous! Would recommend and hope to stay again in future.

  • We had an excellent stay, everything was as described and the place was immaculate. We got lots of great tips for places to visit and places to eat and also some good local walks in the area. We’ll definitely be coming back to stay again and would recommend the place to anyone.

    Nick2018-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I had a lovely stay at Swallows Flight after a week of cycling from near Brighton. Lucia was so helpful, providing me with warm jumpers, a lift to the farm shop and even a swimming costume for the hot tub! Would highly recommend a visit.

    Charlotte2015-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic few days staying at Swallow's Flight. Lucia and her family were great hosts and made us feel truly at home. The location of the property is perfect for exploring the South Hams, with Dartmouth and Salcombe close by. The local seafood is exceptionally good especially the crab. Really good recommendations for activities and restaurants! We will be back!

  • Just got back from our night in the treehouse, booked as a suprise for my boyfriends birthday. Felicity and freya were fantastic hosts, very helpful and responded very quickly to any questions I had. The treehouse exceeded expectation, it is so cosy and has lots of special touches - all done to a very high standard. Enjoyed toasting marshmallows on the fire and loved our breakfast that was winched up to us in the morning. Will definitely return.

    Carly2018-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great 2 night stay at the Treehouse, on arrival we had friendly welcome from Freya and her family. The Treehouse is beautiful and is nicely secluded. The property is well equipped and the town centre can easily be walked to within 15 minutes. I would definitely recommend this for a romantic or relaxing get away.

  • If you're thinking of booking this gem, do it. It is the most wonderful, charming, unique tree house with close distance to beautiful Salcombe. We went in the Winter and made it just as charming being in the cosy house with the electric fire, and listening the rain with a glass of wine. Loved our stay and will definitely come again. Also perfect hosts where nothing was too much trouble. Go stay here!

    Millie2017-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely and unusual place to stay, would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Whether it's sunny or raining this place is just the thing for anyone who just wants to relax and get away from it all

Relax and unwind in this luxurious studio apartment, with smart TV, cooking facilities, walk-in shower and underfloor heating with all mod-cons. Or on a warm day, soak up the sun in the garden, while cooking on the BBQ.
Perfect luxury retreat for couples, for either a long or short break. All bedding, towels, tea towels provided along with tea and coffee facilities.
Just a short stroll from the main town centre of Salcombe. 10 minute walk down the hill but 10/15 minute walk back up. Its not a major problem but note the hill is steep. Close enough to enjoy the activity of the town but far enough away to escape and find peace should you need. Less than a minute away from the local spar store and post office.
  • Fantastic place, perfect retreat for our weekend away in Salcombe. Everything you need and want, and to a vey high standard. Great Hosts, making you feel at ease and welcome. Will definitely be staying again.. Thank You.

  • Lovely little studio perfect for a short break for two. Only a short (but steep!) walk from the town in Salcombe. Clare was very easy to contact and had left us some extra local treats in the apartment which was a nice surprise! A very well kitted out space, had everything we needed will definitely be back.

    Martha2018-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Clares apartment is picture perfect, leading onto a nice small private garden. Under floor heating in the bathroom was great. Ten minutes walk into town , which is lovely , the walk back up hill could be a struggle to anyone with walking difficulties. Plenty places to eat in town , and it is a lovely town. Also a lovely touch as Clare left wine and chocs. Lovely place to stay.

There was so much useful information in the flat on walks, restaurants and pubs in the area, and the visitors book was useful for tips too. Overall, wonderful place to stay with everything you need for a little getaway.

  • Right from the start Nikki was an amazing host, we arrived on the Friday where Nikki greeted us and showed us around her lovely home. The views were incredible, the interior was furnished impeccably but the real highlight was the hot tub. Our trip came to an abrupt end due to the snow but i wouldn't change it and i cant wait to return it was an unforgettable trip and the area was lovely.

    Ayeisha2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The house is fantastic with an amazing view down the river from the balcony which includes a hot tub. The house is decorated beautifully and Nikki is a really welcoming guest.

  • We loved our stay and didn’t want to leave. The house and location were fantastic. A beautifully decorated property with excellent attention to detail throughout.

  • What a great little find, Nikki has gone above and beyond to furnish, decorate and make this place a memorable place to stay with such lovely touches. Absolutely perfect and well equipped with everything you’d need for your stay. Excellent location and lovely views of the estuary (especially in the hot tub!) Nikki was so helpful with the lead up to our trip and very welcoming on our arrival. A definite return visit will be happening.

    Hannah2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Nikki’s place. Its location is fabulous. A stone’s throw from the estuary slipway and five mins walk to some lovely restaurants in Kingsbridge. The apartment was perfect for a week’s holiday. It was modern, spotlessly clean, well equipped and beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The hot tub was fab and made this place an ideal getaway for summer or winter in the UK. Nikki was also an amazing host. Nothing was too much trouble (she even managed to find extra coat hangers for all my wife’s clothes) and made us feel welcome from the get go. All in all wholly recommend a stay at Paddler’s View and we hope to come back another year.

Our cosy cottage in the middle of town is perfect to explore everything the Salcombe estuary and local area has to offer. Great pubs, crabbing quays, sail boats and ferries in walking distance plus fantastic Devon coastline a short drive away.
Muddle Cottage is a terraced, 1850s cottage with tonnes of character, right in the centre of Kingsbridge, a short walk from the water. Upstairs is bright and breezy with lots of light, a lovely space to wake up in. Downstairs is cosy and comfy, with everything you could need and a wood burning stove too. We have children and dogs so have purposefully kept things simple and practical with wooden floors and spaces to dump sandy bags or muddy boots. Outside there is a small courtyard area for swilling out swimmers and hanging things to dry. NB: From March 2017 the upstairs will be different from the photos. The bath will be replaced with a free-standing shower, the rooms all redecorated and carpets throughout.
Muddle Cottage is right in the heart of Kingsbridge, an ancient coastal town at the tip of the Salcombe Estuary. It is part of a terraced row, a few minutes walk away from the water, Fore St, pubs, restaurants and shops. There is always something going on at 'Creeks' on the quay, or you can stroll down to The Crabshell for a pizza and pint of Doombar, to watch the tide ebb and flow or the kids falling out of kayaks. There is great shopping on Fore St, lots of restaurants including The Cod Father and pubs everywhere. A ferry ride away is Salcombe itself and of course there are beautiful sandy beaches plus some great surfing beaches and coastal walks all within easy reach.
  • Had a lovely stay at muddle cottage. Good location close to the town and all walkable distance. We recommend the old bakery for some delicious tapas for an evening out. The car parking bay is a 5 minute walk away which is not too bad but not great in the pouring rain so we were unlucky with that one! generally managed to park on the street a bit closer for the most part so worked out ok! The house was clean and tidy and there were basic supplies in the kitchen. The main bedroom double bed was a bit on the cosy side. There were just two of us but the place would be great for a family with two kids. All in all would definitely recommend it! Zoe was in contact throughout our stay checking everything was ok and made it all very easy!

  • We had a wonderful time at the cottage, the location was fantastic and the accommodation lovely. We would love to stay again in the future.

  • Having read other reviews I wasn't surprised everything was as described, clean, tidy, comfortable and felt like 'home'. I was on my own this time but would happily take golfing friends or even the grandchildren next time. Everything you need in the cottage and all amenities within walking distance, having to move the car a very minor nuisance but not a real problem. Communication with Zoe (email) very prompt and whilst we never actually spoke I detected a good sense of humour and ready wit. I'm hoping to stay there again later in the year and would recommend Muddle Cottage to anyone as a great base for a short or longer break.

  • Really enjoyed our trip to Devon. Lovely cottage and great location. Will defiantly come back.

    Christine2018-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cottage which was comfortable for two of us plus our dog; would easily accommodate a family of four as well. The stove made it very cosy in the recent cold weather. Good communication with our hosts.

    Oliver2018-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the cottage was great it's only round the corner from the main streets. The local shops- bakers, butchers, fishmongers and friendly wine shop owner. Knightsbridge is only a bus ride to Salcombe too. The cottage was lovely, beds comfy, walk in shower- the kitchen is a small but has all you need, with the fridge, washer and dishwasher being in a separate utility room. We had a lovely stay.

    Alison2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • It's our second time at the Muddle Cottage and we like it a lot. It's nice, cosy and lots of things to do in the area. Thank you Zoe

  • Our stay at Muddle Cottage was fabulous! Wish we could stay longer. We had a wonderful break and all the handy tips on things to do and places to go was much appreciated! The fireplace is such a treat and adds to the holiday experience. Zoe was always quick to respond with our questions. Highly recommend muddle cottage for a short or long break! So much to do and see in the area!

Within 20 minutes you could be at either Dartmouth, Salcombe or one of the many award winning sandy beaches the South Hams has to offer. Dartmoor is less then half an hour from Tilly's - well worth a day out.
  • Julie and keith were great hosts and Tilly's was an amazing spot to relax. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come again.

  • Wonderful stay in the secluded countryside of Devon. The house and surroundings were super romantic and the sparkling lights above the bath a beautiful touch! Would definitely recommend staying here

  • We stayed at Tilly's to celebrate our anniversary and we had an amazing time. The house is beautiful and the little touches really make you feel at home. Julie and Keith were very welcoming and gave us lots of recommendations, they got out a bbq for us and showed us where the coal was which was fab for a bbq in the amazing surroundings, the hot tub was also a massive bonus!! Already recommended this place to so many of our friends and the only down side we have is that we didn't stay longer!! We can't wait to come back one day!

  • The most peaceful hidden gem. A pmeasure to stay at!

    Tom2018-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place! Situated in a farm a short drive off the road, everything was so nice and quiet, and peaceful. We were looking to get away from the busyness of the city for a while for our anniversary, and this was the ideal stay. Keith & Julie had thought of everything in detail - the accommodation really had you needed for a comfortable stay. We were also given a very warm welcome and Keith showed us around the farm to introduce us to the horses and dogs who were all lovely and well behaved. We'll be back for sure!

  • Absolutely faultless! Tilly’s is luxurious, clean, stylish and the perfect location for a relaxing, rural get away. My boyfriend and I especially loved the hot tub and the wonderful little touches - Julie and Keith really have thought of everything, which made our stay so chilled and effortless. Received a lovely, warm welcome and felt at home straight away. We can’t wait to come back!

  • Another amazing weekend at Tilly’s! It really is like a home from home. Tilly’s has everything you could need for a nice break away, all cleverly designed and thought out, with beautiful finishing touches. From the beautiful star lighting in the bathroom to the new hot tub area with Phil the flamingo! The hot tub is an amazing addition to this already wonderful place. Julie and Keith are such lovely, friendly and helpful hosts, and make you feel so welcome on their farm. This was our second visit and plan to go back for a 3rd!

March's Nook is a quiet self catering studio barn tucked away in my sun trap garden. The guest has a shower room, sitting area, and small kitchen equipped with fridge, combination microwave, toaster, and kettle. It also has a decked area outside. It is 1m from Slapton Sands, 7m from Salcombe. It is also on the bus route to Plymouth and Dartmouth. Parking is on street but the guest can park to unload. This aonb has a wealth of first class eateries, and wonderful unspoilt beaches
There will be a Christmas tree for the Christmas new year period
Marches Nook dates back to the 13th centuary. It is in a quintessential English village with a pub and post office. It is one mile from the historic Slapton sands and the Devon coastal path, but there are plenty of country walks as well. Devon with its rolling green hills and unspoilt beaches is my slice of heaven
  • Perfect location in garden of Marion's house. Despite this I never felt imposed on. Very nice little decking area where you can bask in the sun. A lovely stay.

    Allison2018-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • March’s Nook is a wonderful home away from home. Marian is a fantastic host and her advice and quick chat really added a highlight to each day. The room is well decorated and clean, and the deck gets lovely sun. Great location to explore the surrounding areas. Marian’s dogs were an extra special addition and anyone who likes animals will adore these 2.

  • A lovely secluded base in south Devon close to some great walks and fab seaside towns. Perfect for a relaxing getaway.

    Charlie2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • It's a cosy, bijou place that looks like it does in the photos. No parking outside but 50 metres, on street up the road. The shower was temperamental and didn't always work. The bathroom door was warped and wouldn't close and the sink plug was broken. Marian asked us if we'd prefer the bathroom door to close? And put the issues down to the odd couple who were in before us and condensation problems due to it being a period built cottage, built directly on land (no foundations). And she then quickly arranged for a local repair man to fix the plug and door. Chillington is a small, residential village with one pub/restaurant The Bear and Blacksmith and a shop/post office with a very friendly female member of staff. Good base for touring around, an hourly bus service - timetables available from the shop/post office!

    Suzanne2018-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I wanted to visit South Devon for a mid week getaway and to explore the local area. Marches Nook was perfect for us as it was within easy drive of the local beaches and Salcombe. The place itself was cosy with everything you need and a perfect base for our exploring. We spent most of our time by the beach and driving in to Salcombe thanks to the amazing weather but there were also lots of walking to be done close to the cottage. There were some lovely restaurants nearby - our favourite being the Cricket Inn at Beesands. Marian was a great host! Very friendly and happy to help with recommendations about restaurants and things to do in the local area. Her two little dogs Arthur and Freda were also really cute little characters! Would highly recommend this AirBNB as a base to explore South Devon

    Jasmine2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • March's Nook is the perfect country escape and feels so secluded and remote. The nook itself is cosy and beautifully decorated and has everything you need! Marian provides lots of tips and info on local attractions, which is really helpful. There are lots of quaint local pubs in the village as well as walks or drives to local beaches. We weren't so lucky with the weather during our stay but regardless it was a lovely serene break and we'll definitely be back!

    Megan2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in March's Nook! The cottage was extremely clean and very comfortable to stay in with fresh milk and tea bags waiting for our arrival! It was easy to find, parking was always easy on a very nearby road, and was close to lovely towns. Marian was a brilliant host. She gave us lots of ideas for days out and we ate at two of her recommended restaurants (Start Bay Inn and The Cricket Inn) which were also very nice! Overall a very nice getaway - perfect for a relaxing break!

Escape to the country and find sanctuary in our two-hundred year-old, newly renovated, two-room cottage, situated at the end of a peaceful farm courtyard, with a secluded and enchanting private garden, and views over pasture fields that run down to the sea and the fabulous beaches of South Devon.
At Rose Cottage, luxury beckons everywhere you look: contemporary oak furniture, heated slate floors, a comfy leather sofa and original art on every wall. The spacious bedroom has a kingsize bed with crisp, 400-count cottons, a large basin and dresser, and a positively decadent marble-tiled ensuite bathroom with power shower. The living area is cleverly designed to make use of every bit of space, and incorporates a fully-equipped kitchen, a wood burner for colder evenings, and HD TV with DVD and satellite. Three sets of French doors ensure the cottage is filled with light whatever the weather, and give direct access from both rooms to the cottage's private garden: a flagged and graveled patio area with outdoor dining facilities and barbecue, a terrace planted with mature trees, shrubs and ground cover, and a well stocked herb garden for guests’ use. A gate at the end of the garden opens onto our own pasture, with views to fishing village of Beesands a mile away, where an excellent pub and an award-winning fish restaurant will delight even the most jaded of appetites. Wake to the sound of the cock crowing. Collect your own eggs for breakfast, and try some home-cured bacon from our free-range black pigs. Fill your time lounging in the garden, collecting shells on the beach, swimming in the sea, surfing, cycling, horseriding, or just pottering about the quiet country lanes between the cottage and the coast. At the end of another busy day, as the evening draws in and dusk descends on the farmyard, sit back with a glass of something or other and listen to the sounds of the countryside putting itself to bed – the pheasants calling as they fly home to their roosts, or the first hoot of our resident tawny owls. In a few hours the stars will be out and, untrammelled by city light pollution, set to put on a magnificent display.
The South Hams, Devon's own riviera, boasts some of the most unspoilt coastline on the English coast: its sweeping bays and secluded coves, including the promontories of Start Point and Bolt Head, along with the lower Avon and Dart valleys, form the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Many miles of safe, award-winning beaches offer swimming, rockpooling, and sunbathing opportunities, while watersports - particularly surfing, windsurfing, sailing, waterskiing and parasailing - are popular and widely available. There are facilities for golf, sailing, horseriding, tennis, and river- and sea fishing all within 30 minutes' drive of the property. Walkers and their dogs will appreciate the attractions of miles of quiet lanes, footpaths, bridleways, and the renowned South Devon Coast Path, while stargazers will glory in the complete absence of artificial light, which makes the Milky Way regularly visible with the naked eye. The area is hugely popular with birdwatchers: Start Point is on a major migration route, Slapton Ley is an overwintering spot for overseas visitors, and the rare Cirl Bunting can be spotted on the farm. South Devon is at the cutting edge of the Good Food revolution in the UK and there are superb eateries to be found in every town and village. Fish and seafood are a speciality in the many fishing villages along the coast, and there are a number of establishments where you can pick your choice from the slab or tank and have it prepared, cooked and served to your table while you wait.
  • We had an amazing time at Piers' lovely cottage. The wood-burner was the business! I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

  • We loved our stay in Rose Cottage. We found it very comfortable and private. It had everything you needed for a short break or a longer stay. Piers and Sue were friendly and made us feel welcomed and the little extra hamper was a lovely touch. They were also good to ask advice from on the local area.

    Ian2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! This is quite possibly our favourite Airbnb so far! A very well equipped cottage, a real home from home in beautiful surroundings. Piers was very welcoming and communication, particularly directions, was excellent. Great walks, a wide variety of places to eat but the cottage has everything you need if you want to stay in. We didn't want to leave. Will definitely be back!!

It consists of a bed-sitting room with a dining and kitchenette area and a spacious en-suite shower room. The annexe is at the front of our cottage, situated on the main Kingsbridge to Dartmouth road, making it convenient for visiting and exploring this wonderful southernmost part of Devon. Breakfast is an optional extra. Dogs welcome by arrangement at £10 per stay.
The accommodation is bright and welcoming, and consists of a bed-sitting room, an en-suite shower room, kitchenette area with small fridge, microwave oven and 2 plate ceramic hob, ideal for preparing breakfasts and simple meals. We can provide you with milk, bread, croissants, cereals, juice, fruit, eggs and yoghurt for breakfast for £7.50 per person. There is a small dining table and chairs, wardrobe and chest of drawers and a comfortable and very easily operated pull out 4’6 double sofa bed. We supply bed linen and towels but will offer a £5 reduction in price if you want to bring your own. Please advise on booking. The en-suite shower room is spacious and newly fitted. There is a TV/DVD player and a selection of DVDs Dogs are not allowed on any furniture, must be clean and dry ( we have dog towels available) and are not to be left unattended at any time unless by arrangement. Laundry service on request. IMPORTANT Please note we do offer private parking but access is not the easiest. Most drivers/cars are fine but cars with low suspension can scrape when turning in from and out onto the road. There is a parking and turning area at the top. Please see photos!
In the village we have a good pub, The Globe Inn, which serves food and is a few minutes walk away, and Frogmore bakery a little further down the road for breads, pasties, cakes etc. There are walks along Frogmore Creek with access very close to the house. Nearby are many small villages and hamlets to explore, including the picture postcard South Pool and the Millbrook Inn just a short drive away. Kingsbridge is an attractive and busy market town with lots of good eating places, a sports centre, a cinema, a museum and good shops, and of course the attraction of the quayside and estuary, with boats and water sports activities. The beaches are all a drive away ( or a 50 minute walk) the nearest being at Torcross which is under 10 minutes drive away. We are ideally situated for exploring the South West coast path.
  • The place was really clean and stylish. It wasn’t too hard to find either and there is a really lovely pub a couple of minutes walk down the road where we had a very good quality roast. The kitchen is well equipped and shower was good too. We struggled a bit with the sofa bed as we both rolled to the middle of it throughout the night. We also struggled with the traffic noise as the windows face the main road which was such a shame. As pre-warned, the driveway is very very steep and narrow which was a bit of a shock to us too. Overall, the stay was good value for money. Sarah was very good at communicating with us. Her and her husband were very welcoming when we arrived and we even got to see them play music at the local pub.

    Kimberly2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place. Super clean! Lovely location with everywhere you might want to go to within a 20min drive. They're not joking about the noise from the road as said in the description. Ok with windows closed but not great if it's warm weather. And great value for money

    Ben2018-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic stay! Accommodated our little pug no problem at all with the garden at the back being a great feature and super convenient. A quick walk into the village and there’s a fab dog friendly pub! Lovely mod cons, with everything you would need! If you like sleeping with the window open or you’re a light sleeper, the traffic noise may be a problem for you! But apart from that we had a lovely stay! Sarah couldn’t do enough for us! She even brought us some fresh eggs from her hens!

    Christian2018-06-17T00:00:00Z

  • A lovely, clean and cosy place. Comfortable bed, lovely shower and well equipped to cook meals at home. Walking distance to a great pub with good food. As others have said, the road is quite noisy but other than that we found the place perfect!

  • We had a great weekend in Sarah’s annexe. It was superb value and had everything needed to feel right at home. It was very clean and the kitchenette was well equipped. Sarah even gave us some fresh eggs from their hens :-) The parking is very handy but could be a little tricky for some as the driveway is rather steep. A gorgeous location with some great local pubs nearby. Recommend.

  • This little gem of a place was exactly what we were looking for! Beautifully decorated, thoughtful touches and everything you would ever need for a much-needed getaway. The surrounding areas are lovely and it was great to stumble over new places to explore. Karen was amazing too and responded to all my messages - from questions about check in to questions about hairdryers - super quickly. A huge thank you for a really wonderful stay. We will definitely be recommending Little Cob! X

It is fabulously well equipped with a modern kitchen (electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer, TV and DVD player). It is tastefully furnished and there are DVDs, books and games for cosy nights in. Information, guide books and maps are provided to help you plan your stay. There is electric heating for chilly nights. The very large bedroom contains a single and a double bed with comfortable, good quality mattresses. There is also a good quality single camp bed to sleep a 4th person should families on a budget wish to stay. If you’re happy to share a bedroom with your children, there is plenty of space to sleep 4. There is wifi access from the main farmhouse. Situated on a rural farm you are surrounded by fields and stunning views in every direction. You can walk directly from the property to access footpaths leading through the countryside and down to the coast. The local dog-friendly beach is a 7-10 minute drive away and also boasts 2 excellent beachside pubs. The local town of Kingsbridge is 4 miles away (10 min drive) where there are 2 supermarkets, a petrol station and a lovely high street. There are chickens free-ranging outside, as well as cats. Previous guests have commented on how large the property is in comparison to the pictures and also how well equipped it is, and for those that use mobility aids or wheelchairs, there is loads of room to manoeuvre inside the property. I have a page on popular social media sites if you'd like to find out more about the local area and what's on - Higher Stancombe Dog Friendly Holiday Cottage.
Being in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and situated on top of the rolling Devon hills, you have fantastic views of the sea and ley at nearby Torcross. Sunsets are fabulous here and there is lots of wildlife. You are more likely to hear an owl through the night than a car! There are a wealth of beaches all a short drive away (7-10mins drive is the nearest) and nearby Dartmoor about half an hour by car. There are plenty of excellent pubs nearby for eating and drinking and the town of Kingsbridge can offer a wide variety of dining experiences as well as take-away deliveries. There are footpaths running through the property and quiet rural roads for walking / cycling. If farms are your thing there are horses on the property as well as an array of cats, a couple of dogs and chickens, as well as sheep and cattle in the fields at certain times of the year.
  • Rural tranquillity. Laura had already marked herself as a great host before I even arrived. Clear instructions on how to find their idyllic farm, even checked in to see how I was getting on when Devon's roads delayed me a bit. Very comfortable, just a shame I couldn't stay longer.

  • I cannot recommend a stay at Laura's converted stables highly enough! It is the most special of places to stay, and we had a fantastic time. Before our visit Laura was incredibly helpful. The booking process was smooth, and she gave us so many helpful tips and pieces of advice. When we arrived, the accommodation was as advertised, and more! The welcome basket was such a nice touch, and the stables were clean and homely. It is the perfect accommodation for a relaxing few days away! The setting is so picturesque, with rolling fields and animals galore. Laura's dogs are adorable, and we loved spending time with them when relaxing. There is a lovely wooden table outside, perfect for a chilled breakfast. We also had a great walk down to Slapton (The Tower Inn) from the farm, and ate at the Crabshell Inn - both Laura's excellent recommendations. We also visited Torcross, which has a picturesque beach setting and the Trademan's Arms in Stokenham - which serves up a lush pie! Overall, we cannot wait to visit again, this is a gem of a place to stay! Thank you Laura. We hope to see you again soon.

  • I would like to say a huge thank you to Laura and her family for having us. We loved every single second of our trip to Salcombe. Potential Guests: If you are looking for a get a way from the city life and love the fresh air & seaside. Then Laura's stables is the place to be!! Honestly I have never had a better weekend and that was made by Laura's accommodation. Thank you for having us!! I have no room for improvement on the trip!!

  • Very rural location with lovely views. Laurs was very welcoming and the accommodation was clean, comfortable and spacious. Lovely goodie basket on arrival, and lots of lovely fresh eggs from their own hens. Highly recommended.

  • If you want a relaxing atmosphere away from the fast paced you will make the right choice with Laura's farm. Although it is a bit far off, the lovely hosts, the view and the cute animals make up for it. We very enjoyed our stay and would absolutely choose it again.

  • We stayed at Thyme Retreat for 1 evening and it was everything we had hoped for. Easy to find with free parking (on a sunday) just outside, room was super clean with a really comfy bed and a fantastic shower. Phil recommended The Crabshell Inn for dinner which was perfect, great pizzas and just a 10 minute walk away. A great stay!

  • We just left Bex & Phil's beautiful place after five nights and we will gladly come back again. The hosts are very friendly and they make sure you have a pleasent stay, but you definately have your privacy. The cottage is just lovely and perfect for 1 person or a couple - situated on the main street of Kingsbridge but hidden in a lush dreamy garden. You can see that the hosts have put a lot of effort into making it a cosy place, with unique and bespoke details. It's also very fresh and well heated (both radiators and under floor heating). Further, the sofa bed was very comfy. THANKS!

The Barn at Cotmore Farm offers spacious, designer-built accommodation in peaceful rural surroundings just minutes from the sea, ensuring you have the best of both worlds: all the creature comforts of a luxurious home, yet within easy reach of the glorious south coast of Devon, where miles of twisting footpaths and quiet sunken lanes lead to the many sandy coves and safe, award-winning beaches for which this part of England is justly famous.
The Barn at Cotmore Farm is a recently renovated, reverse-level conversion situated in a small farm courtyard at the end of a private tree-lined drive in a sheltered south-facing valley tucked away between Salcombe and Dartmouth. Luxuriously appointed throughout, with heated slate floors downstairs and solid oak boards upstairs, original contemporary art on the walls, comfortable leather sofas and a flatscreen HD TV, The Barn provides all the comforts of home in an idyllic country setting. The front door opens to an elegant hallway. On the left, a large bookcase filled with paperback and hardback fiction, reference books and local history, and an excellent selection of children's picture books, will tempt you to browse and borrow. To the right, the master bedroom with en-suite is furnished with a kingsize bed. Next door a private laundry room has washing, drying and ironing facilities. The spacious second bedroom can be configured as one superking or up to three single beds. A cot is available if required at no extra charge. A glass balustraded staircase leads to the first floor, a lovely, light-filled space, with high ceilings, exposed beams and roof lights, offering expansive, open-plan living. At one end of this 40-foot room is a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, with views to the garden and farm courtyard. At the other, two comfortable leather sofas, a widescreen satellite TV, and a high-end Scandinavian woodburner offer a congenial space to relax of an evening. Double French doors give onto a sunny private terraced garden, with outdoor dining facilities and barbecue. From the terrace, a path leads to a sheltered apple orchard and a grassy area perfect for a game of football or cricket. A giant trampoline offers hours of safe fun and amusement for children with excess energy to burn. Horses, lambs, chickens, ducks, and rare breed piglets provide feeding opportunities for animal-loving children (and adults!), while birdwatchers will delight in the abundance of visitors to our many tables and feeders. And since we're barely a mile from the South West Coast Path, walkers (and their dogs) will not want for new routes to explore.
  • We had a wonderful stay at the Barn with our two daughters, aged 3 years and 10 months, and our little dog. The Barn is lovely and spacious for a family of four and was very toddler friendly - equipped with cot bed, high chair, baskets of toys and children's books. The little ones loved visiting all the animals on the farm and Piers and Sue were very welcoming and provided lots of useful advice on days out. The Barn is fantastically well-located with lots of beaches and places to visit nearby. This part of the world is also very dog friendly so you can take your dog pretty much everywhere! We very much enjoyed the welcome hamper of yummy local produce and ended up stocking up at the nearby farm shop before heading home. We would highly recommend the Barn to anyone with children and/or a dog.

  • Our family enjoyed a wonderful short break at Cotmore Farm between Christmas and New Year. The Barn was everything we had hoped. Comfortable, spacious and well decorated with a good entertainment system and wi-fi. The wood fire was lovely in the evenings. Thank you Piers and Sue for a wonderful time!

  • Just returned from a wonderful two weeks at the Barn. We all had a great time. The Barn provides excellent well equipped accommodation and the setting is beautiful. We spent our time either going to the beach, with over 15 within a twenty minute drive, visiting the spectacular Dartmoor national park, or relaxing at Cotmore Farm. We would high recommend a stay, as the hosts provide an superb base for a break. The animals, especially the pigs, are great too! We'll be sure to return.

Our huts are handcrafted from locally sourced sustainable wood. The have hot and cold water, a kitchenette, with hob, fridge, kettle and toaster. They have a log burner and a private and enclosed outside area with BBQ and decking for alfresco dining. They come with 600 thread count linen and lots of luxurious throws and cusions. They do however use the communal campsite shower and toilet facilities. Bookings start and end on a Monday or Friday, but out of season we can be flexible! Thank you
The huts provide a real touch of luxury to your camping experience. They are superbly insulated and really comfortable. They have everything you need to stay warm and cosy- and yet can easily throw open those big double doors to soak in the beautiful views in the evening sun.
Salcombe is a stunning area of outstanding natural beauty. This is a place favoured by the rich and famous and for a very good reason, it is a beautiful area, with plenty to see and do.
  • This beautiful shepherds hut is the perfect place to stay in Salcombe. It has everything you need for your stay and the location is ideal for exploring the area. The campsite was quiet so you don't have to wait around for a shower in the morning. The toilets and showers were clean and just a short walk from the hut. The shepherds hut had lovely interior and plenty of room for two people. It is dog friendly too which was fab. I would certainly stay here again and recommend to anyone looking for a luxury glamping experience.

    Natasha 2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Vicki's shepherds hut was one of the best places we have ever stayed at. We loved everything about it, and the attention to detail was amazing. We will certainly return.

    Cheryl2016-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Vicky and John welcomed us and gave us a tour of the Shepard Hut, and followed it up with orienting us to the area. The hut had everything we needed and a nice outdoor area to chill. If you've never stayed in one, I highly recommend it!

    Ravi2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t have asked for more in the perfect little hut. Everything was there that we could have asked for, the space was so well used. Perfect location to pop to salcombe - but the views were the best part! Looking forward to hopefully staying again :)

  • A great location and amazing huts.

    Sandy2018-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Vicki was prompt to reply to any messages and was very helpful from check in and through out our stay. The location is wonderful for exploring the local area. It's about a 40 minute walk into Salcombe. The Shepherd's huts were well kited out and very cosy with the log burner going. The views are great. The showers and toilet block were a little basic and it was a bit frustrating to have to pay 20p for a few minutes of hot water. However, I understand these are due to be upgraded in the near future, this will put the icing on the cake. Overall a lovely stay, thank you Vicki.

  • We were due to fly to Italy, however our flight was cancelled due to weather. We were determined to have a short break so we booked Lindsay’s Cottage. It was tranquil, relaxing, all you could hear was sheep. Lindsay was very welcoming, made us feel right at home. The cottage itself was fully furnished and had all the utensils you would require in the kitchen. My favorite part was the wood burner. What made it different to staying in a hotel room was Lindsay’s attention to detail such as milk, orange juice, butter, freshly baked cake, not to mention the wine. The is a great little pub about 5 minutes drive that does decent food, good sized portions, at a reason price. There are a few beautiful beaches within 20-25 minutes drive. I would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family. Thank you Lindsay for your hospitality.

    Satish2018-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Torr Cottage is a real find! Not only was there bread, milk and tea bags on arrival (very welcome given we arrived on a bank holiday Sunday afternoon and not many shops were open!) Lindsey left us wine and offered us some eggs from her hens. The cottage is beautiful, spotless and has everything you could imagine, comfy bed, big bath and separate powerful shower, variety of DVDs and books, and lots of local leaflets. Lindsey was a very thoughtful host and provided dog treats and local pub suggestions. The cottage is ideally located, close to Slapton (a short drive along the winding Devon lanes) and lots of other places to visit. The Queens Arms in Slapton was a great local for pub grub and a beer in the sunny garden. Our dog had a great time at Torr Cottage. We went on lots of local walks, including on the farmland. She had the odd dip in the pond in the garden as it was so sunny! All in all I cannot recommend this cottage enough for a stay in a beautiful part of Devon.

    Jessica2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for a beach or country holiday. Dogs loved it. The property is modern, chic and luxurious and the owners are super friendly. Gorgeous little extras left for us too which were a lovely surprise. We would definitely come back.

Leyside is a beautiful, cosy and very comfortable, semi-detached cottage that overlooks the beautiful Slapton Ley in South Devon, a freshwater inland lake that is separated from the sea by a three mile long shingle ridge. Set in the middle of the thriving village of Torcross, there is no need to get in the car as the beach is on the doorstep, an excellent pub/restaurant and tea rooms are a few yards walk away and a good farm shop with garden centre and gift and craft shops as well as a brewery.
It was love at first sight for us and we hope you feel the same! On top of being an extremely picturesque and popular beach, Slapton Sands plays an important part in the survival of some of the UK’s rarest flora and fauna. So if you’re looking for a cracking beach holiday with the opportunity to do a little bit of exploring on the side, Slapton Sands should be on your list of ‘must visit’ destinations. Great walks and if you like your scenery to have a bit of history then Slapton Sands has a very moving story attached to it. In 1943, the beach was taken over by the allied forces to use as a rehearsal area for the D-Day Landings. Unfortunately, a combination of live ammunition and poor visibility resulted in the deaths of 749 American servicemen. You can visit a stone monument which was set in place on Slapton Sands to commemorate the ill-fated ‘Operation Tiger’, along with a Sherman Tank at Torcross. The seafront, a stone's throw from Leyside and visible from bedroom window, offers an array of quaint quality eateries and shops. Dogs are allowed on the beach all year around and there is a good offering of water sports.
The long stretch of beach passes through some amazing places such as Beesands and Slapton. The seafood shack at Beesands and The Cricketers are well worth a visit. The famous coastal town of Dartmouth is a short bus journey away and the beautiful South Hams beaches of Salcombe, South Milton and Bantham are half an hour by car. The pretty market town of Kingsbridge offers all the usual array of amenities, such as supermarkets, cinema, leisure centre and an abundance of quality independent shops and eateries.
  • Nettes Häuschen für 4 (mehr haben wirklich keinen Platz). Die Lage zwischen Strand und See ist toll, der kleine Ort Torcross bietet alles, was man für einen entspannten Aufenthalt benötigt.

The location is ideal, with the lake on one side and the beach on the other, a local shop that sells the basics as well as an amazing farm and lifestyle shops just up the road. Eva is very friendly and responded to all our questions quickly. We love the area and would gladly stay there again.

Very comfortable beds, and the house has everything you need including folding beach chairs and wind break. This trip has ensured we will now holiday every year in Devon from now on. • Great little cottage with all that you need when away from home! Fantastic picturesque location overlooking the beautiful bay, with good access to the coastal paths for some great walks. Sparky our dog and Stanley our 6 year old loved the grounds Had a wonderful week although electric shower was rather lacking power and economy 7 heating isn't the best to control. However, these are minor points and certainly wouldn't put us off coming back in the future.

  • My boyfriend and I had a great stay at Rose cottage. The place was lovely and in a nice and secluded location. Great that milk and tea was provided - the only thing missing for a top review are some towels :) thanks for having us!

  • Great place to explore a beautiful part of South Devon, stunning beaches, quaint villages, truly scenic. Great venue, but be prepared, it is in the middle of nowhere, around 20 minutes to Kinsgbridge. Can't fault the cottage, tidy, homely, well presented, with great walks on your doorstep. Like I said, beautiful part of a stunning county.

    Gary2018-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, cottage spotless and comfortable. Supplied , tea, coffee, biscuits and porridge which was great. Very peaceful location, great location if you like walking as it's close to the costal path. Ideal place to get away for rest and relaxation. Just perfect.

  • Rose Cottage was very well decorated, cosy and clean. The surrounding area was just what we were after. We recommend going to East Portlemouth to take the ferry across to Salcombe.

  • This is a lovely cottage ideally situated next to the Coast Path, set within lovely grounds. The cottage was beautifully presented, with a welcome pack provided. Responses from Kim were quick and efficient, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay :)

Apartment in Salcombe, South Devon - 10/15 mins Walk To The Heart Of Salcombe And Less Than Five To The Beach At North Sands. Stylish Apartment With Large Decking And Spectacular Sea Views.
Stylish and comfortable apartment occupying the seaward corner of a large Victorian villa set in lawned gardens (shared) sloping down towards the bay. Even though it's an apartment it's still quite private and you don't feel like you're overlooked by other visitors. With amazing views from the decking this well equipped apartment is the perfect holiday destination for families and friends. Description of sleeping capacity: Sleeps 6 (3 Bedrooms) PLEASE NOTE - Linen and Towels, Bath Mats, Hand Towels, Tea Towels and Oven Gloves are all provided as well as basic essentials to start you off such as loo roll, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, bin bags etc and tea and coffee. Notes on bedrooms: Bedroom 1 has a king size bed, fabulous sea views and opens on to the decking. Bedroom 2 has a double bed and large windows overlooking the garden (and shed - sorry!). Bedroom 3 has two funky full size wooden bunks. Also a door opening on to the decking and lovely views. There is a trundle bed that you can pull out from under the lower bunk, which would be fine for an extra child to sleep on, but would make the room a bit snug. Please let us know if you plan to use this. Bathrooms Family bathroom has a bath with shower over. There's a loo in there too. The other bathroom is just as nice though a little more cosy and has the same bath, shower and loo layout. Kitchen The kitchen has a gas hob with electric ovens. There's even a steam oven for the adventurous. Fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave all fitted and high quality. White plates, lots of wine glasses. Good pans. Nespresso coffee machine and milk frother with a few pods to get you started. Living Room A big wooden table, easily seating eight, separates the kitchen from the sitting room, which has two big slouchy sofas facing each other across a low table, good for feet or magazines. There's a good-sized telly (not too giant) with a DVD player. Notes on accommodation: Child's Highchair Outside: Gas bbq. The decking is great. Clean and modern with the most amazing sea views. You can easily sit eight around the table for lunch or dinner and there's still enough room for children to do their own thing without disturbing everyone. Two big sun loungers and two reclining chairs. Cushions for garden furniture in the shed. The railings on one side are a little low so care should be taken with young children. There are lawns and planted borders below on the sea side. It's great for younger children to play on but too slopey to play football (which many might think is a good thing!). Parking is up above the house out of the way in one allocated space. There is plenty of unrestricted parking on Sandhills Road for additional cars. Steps down from the car park to the front door.
It is close to the lovely North Sands beach and of course the popular Winking Prawn beachfront cafe/restaurant.
  • Sophie's apartment is absolutely idyllic. We stayed up with 3 babies and it was so well equipped, light/ airy, clean, furnished tastefully and the view is exceptional. We look forward to returning! Thank you x

  • Fantastic location, the balcony and views were incredible, what a wonderful place to stay! Will be coming back for sure

    Francesca2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this apartment in the lead up to my wedding. The place was easy to find and the key accessible. When we entered, the first thing we noticed was that incredible view! Massive windows framed the stunning vistas. The balcony provided us with incredible photo opportunities in my dress! The apartment was spotless, and a very high standard of decor. The owner had put in extra touches for me and my bridal party. Much appreciated! She was also very understanding with our later check out time on the big day. It is a walk into town (about 15-20) but it’s an easy walk along a coastal road. Overall the place was perfect for us.

    Anne2018-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Sophie' s place is perfect for a stay in the South Hams. It was especially perfect for us as we had my husband's parents join us so having two double rooms and two bathrooms plus a room for our little boy was ideal and difficult to find. The location is superb. Close enough to the charm of Salcombe without the traffic and crowds. The local beach and cafe are fab and other beaches and child friendly activities are so close. Plus the views from the terrace which has sunshine all day/evening are truly memorable. I could have sat and watched the boats come in and out of the bay all day...

    Sarah-Mary2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely three night stay and wish we could have stayed longer. Everything in the flat was very clean and high quality. The views were better than expected and made the whole stay feel special. We found the walk into town took over 15 minutes and was very dark to walk back after dinner, but it didn’t put us off and was great to be able to reach town without a car. Sophie was a great host and easy to communicate with pre check-in.

    Sarah2017-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment with everything you need. Good space for a family, both living and eating. Great beach views from the bedroom and lounge. Short distance from Salcombe and beaches, very easy to walk to. Sophie was a great host and very responsive before and during our holiday. We would definitely want to visit again. Our 4 year old son loved the chocolates that were left for us and the daffodils were lovely too.

  • Can't fault anything. I agree with the previous reviews, the pics don't do the place justice! We felt right at home and that was also thanks to Nick who was an amazing host. No request was too small or too big for him and we really felt that he went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. I must add that this little home is completely kitted out! Anything that you can think of, it's there so just bare in mind not to over pack! Hope to be returning soon :))

  • Lovely Views from the house

    Luke2015-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nick was very welcoming and showed us how everything worked in his home. Great facilities in the kitchen if you fancy staying in and cooking and a lovely cosy living space to chill. Location is ideal for a stay on the south coast. Easy access to nearby beautiful villages and lots of beaches! The view is gorgeous from Nick's! The pictures of the place don't really do it justice. Thanks so much for your warm welcome Nick. Hopefully be back soon!

    Amy2014-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nick was at the property to welcome us on arrival and gave us a guided tour with useful details about operating cooker, dishwasher , shower, heating etc. He is a really nice chap and made us feel very welcome. The generosity of his hospitality was boundless, giving us free access to his comprehensive book and DVD collections. The house is very comfortable and well equipped , the views have to be seen to be believed - really! The aim of our stay in Street was to enjoy some R&R and Nick's hospitality and wonderfully peaceful house allowed us to achieve this ' in spades' !! Thanks Nick, see you again soon.

    Maria2016-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The property exceeded our expectations. The sea views are unbelievable and there is an easy walk nearby down to the beach. There are all mod cons available in the home and everything was clean and comfortable. We would definitely come again.

  • This home has fantastic views and everything you could want for crockery, cutlery glasses etc. Comfortable home in a good location, close to Dartmouth, Salcombe and Strart Bay. Just a 20 min. walk down to the beach that stretches a good 5 miles. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Nic was kind and welcoming full of local knowledge. Will come again!

    Debby2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks so much Nic. It was heaven to wake up to the stunning sunrise each morning over the water and discovering the little secret garden at the bottom of the stairs was a highlight! I had a very comfortable stay with every possible item you could need available. The local beach and coastal path are great to visit and the stunning views are hard to beat. I hope to return again soon!

Our lovely market town centre apartment is unique with a ‘secret’ walled garden with BBQ, suitable for a couple and one medium well-behaved dog is welcome. It has a large kitchen/diner/lounge, bedroom and bathroom. It's fully equipped with towels and bed linen provided. 100m from a range of local independent food and other shops, pubs, cafés, bistros and a monthly farmers market. Kingsbridge is in easy reach of Dartmoor, the Coastal Path and lovely towns such as Dartmouth, Totnes and Tavistock.
The apartment is for couples only and one well-behaved dog. The kitchen is fully equipped providing everything you need if self-catering; the lounge diner is fully furnished with a TV, DVD/CD/record collections and players. There is no on site parking but you can offload outside. We provide parking information in your Accommodation Guide, emailed before you arrive. Access to the entrance is via a small set of steps and through a side door, down the side passage to the rear door. There is modest covered outside yard with table and chairs but the best thing is our ‘secret’ walled garden, accessed up a flight of steps and across our neighbour’s patio. (Probably not suitable for the less physically able.) We are joint and very amicable freeholders with our upstairs neighbours and we have right of access. In the garden we have a small Weber BBQ, with table and chairs on a patio. BBQ coals are provided but should be replaced if used together with leaving the BBQ pristine clean. The garden is ‘relaxed’ and is not manicured. We just love it. We provide a detailed guide to the apartment and local facilities.
Our place is located in Kingsbridge, Devon, United Kingdom. The best place to find out about local events is via the Kingsbridge Tourist Information website. South Hams is a beautiful part of the country and the major events are: - Dates in the Diary: (2018) • Frogmore Regatta 19 August o Great waterborne fun and atmosphere • Hope Cove Weekend: o Packed with lots of activities • Kingsbridge Festival Week 21 - 28 July: o A week of all sorts; flower dance and traditional ceremonies; road race/fun run, carnival procession, shop based competitions, open air music and fireworks • Port of Dartmouth Regatta 30 – 31 August: o A real treat in a gem of a riverside town • Kingsbridge Show 1 September 2018: o The ‘locals’ big event in the year • Big Night on the Beach (South Milton) 15 September: 4 – 9.30pm o An evening of fun, music and entertainment • South Hams Art Trails – shaf.org.uk : o A rich wealth of amazingly talented artists and craftsmen • Dadfest, Beeson 15 – 17 September: o Say it all! Dads are centre of the show • South Hams Vintage Machinery Rally 11 – 12 August o shvmc.co.uk • Kingsbridge Farmers Markets: o Everything you'd expect. Fruit, vegetables, locally produced fish seafood, meats, delicatessen food and freshly baked breads, cakes and pastries with preserves and honeys to really make you feel at home! A lot are seasonal but you won’t be disappointed. Medical: • There is a Small Injuries Unit in Kingsbridge, a local GP surgery and dentists, which we dearly hope you will not need.

  • Whilst in the area on a works project, and not ever having used Air BnB previously. Martin and the whole experience with his well appointed, clean tidy, homely flat was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble for Martin, his response time was swift, courteous and to the point. I could not recommend Martin and this property highly enough, as is well positioned for exploring the amazing South Hams area with all that it has to offer, or as I have use as a base to work from. Very happy, and will use Martin again, for sure. Regards PRM...

One step up from being under canvas with comfy bed, electric light, electric kettle. Enjoy stunning views as the sun goes down and keep warm with a camp fire or BBQ. Our little 1979 upcycled caravan sits at the top of our paddock and has great views over the hills around us, of Frogmore Creek and across to Salcombe in the distance. Double bed, very basic self-catering facilities, electric kettle, toaster, camping stove, nearby cold water tap and porta potti. BBQ and fire pit available for use.
We are offering use of our small, old caravan, situated at the top of our paddock right in the village of Frogmore - suitable for 2 people only as it is a cosy little space. The views are lovely and far reaching, across Frogmore Creek towards Salcombe in one direction and green hills in another! This is a strictly no smoking zone - inside and out. The caravan is very compact, has a full double bed made up from the seating area, with comfortable cushions / mattress, and a table with seating for two at the other end. This is run on electric only, no gas. There are a couple of power points, a mini fridge, a kettle, a toaster, cutlery, mugs, plates and bowls and couple of pans to use on the camping gas stove or bbq, that is more or less it! There is no heating in the caravan, although it does get very warm through the day as it is south facing. The windows are very brittle and most of the stays have gone so if you want them open in the hot weather they need to be propped open! This is low budget, basic self-catering and there is a firepit and a small BBQ for your use, but you will have to provide your own charcoal / logs (we can sometimes supply wood. There is a very rustic set up close to the caravan providing cold washing facilities and a screened off porta potti ( a loo with a view). The cold water tap is on the mains, but water from this tap must be boiled before drinking. We can supply a container of drinking water if required. We suggest guests bring their own bedding / sleeping bags and towels, but we can provide duvets, pillows and bed linen and towels if required, at an additional cost to cover laundry etc. Please ask at time of booking. We allow small open fires in the firepit. Firewood is available either from us or from the nearby filling station/shop. We can supply eggs from our hens and home made bread, and garden produce when available. Please order when booking. This is not suitable for children. We charge £5 per stay for dogs. Dogs are not allowed on any furniture, not allowed in the caravan wet or muddy and are not to be left unattended at any time. They must be kept under strict control as there is usually livestock around, and they must be cleaned up after. We like to be there to welcome our guests, and are happy to help with suggestions for sightseeing etc. We have extensive knowledge of the area and Devon on the whole. We are folk musicians and enjoy playing in local pub sessions most weeks. Guests are welcome to join us for these, and of course musicians are especially welcome (open 'sessions' at the Globe Inn are held on the first Tuesday and third Thursday of each month) Frogmore is a lovely village at the head of Frogmore Creek, with a great pub - The Globe Inn - serving good pub food ( a short walk away), the bakery for excellent breads and pasties, walks along quiet lanes and of course Frogmore Creek. There are lots of great places to visit and things to do within 30 minutes drive - beaches, cliff walks, Dartmouth town, Burgh Island, Bantham beach, fish and chips on the beach at Beesands, paddle boarding and other water sports, golf courses, children's adventure parks and of course wild and beautiful Dartmoor. Kingsbridge itself is a lively market town with museum, pubs and excellent eating places, a cinema, quality shops, markets and a sports centre. There is usually live music to be found somewhere in the area.
Frogmore is a traditional Devon village set at the head of Frogmore Creek, on the main road to Dartmouth, and benefits from a pub and a village shop. Frogmore is easily accessible and is a good base for exploring this very southerly part of Devon. Ashbys store is under 1 mile away and sells just about everything- from local produce to fuel to camping supplies.
  • We had a lovely few days in Sarah and Nigel's little caravan. Everything was as described in the listing, and Sarah and Nigel were great at helping us move in, providing us with board games in the rain and directing us to the local pub. The location was beautiful and we had a great time toasting marshmallows in the evening. It was also a great location for day trips out to Torbay and Dartmoor. Thank you very much!

  • Beautiful little caravan with lovely views. The Globe Inn pub is a short walk away and we had a delicious Sunday lunch there. Lots of places to walk our cocker spaniel. A short drive away is a lovely little beach at Beesands where there is another lovely pub that does fresh fish. Would definitely recommend!

  • We had two excellent nights in this very cosy and warm caravan. Sarah was very helpful and welcoming host. Luckily for us it rained only in the night, so that in the morning we could enjoy the full glory of the view sitting outside in the sunshine. Although we were a stones throw from the village it feels like you are in a little world of your own. We had a fun night out at the local pub enjoying a good meal while listening to a great folk music session including our hosts. The location is perfect for some of the best parts of the coast in Devon. Thank you Sarah.

Our two new Shepherd Huts are bigger and better than ever! They are sited in our campsite in the heart of the South Hams Area of Outstanding natural beauty, Just a short walk from the Mecca that is Salcombe Town. They boast formidable views across the Estuary and the surrounding countryside. It is hard to show photo's of the huts yet as they are still being built- but I will update this posting with information and progress as it is made!
They are fully equipped with a Kingsize bed, 2 bunks above, a kitchen (Toaster, hob, kettle, sink, fridge, pots and pans etc..!) a log burner, underfloor heating, toilet, bed linen, mugs, cups, glasses, tea and coffee, and milk in the fridge! Dogs are allowed but there is a £5 additional charge per night. Extra people are charged too- but you can camp in the garden if required for extra accommodation!
The huts are located on a private area withon the boundary of our campsite. The campsite is very quiet, but does provide a 3 acre filed in which children can play and run and enjoy having freedom and space. The locality outside of the campsite is beautiful and there is plenty on offer for activities and things to do: Salcombe Tourist information centre is the best source of information for this!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the shepherd hut and experienced a range of weather types (from glorious sunshine to being snowed in!) Vicki and Jon were fantastically hospitable hosts and made us feel extremely welcome (even letting us stay an extra night at short notice due to the weather conditions). The hut was very well equipped and the log fire was an added bonus! Waking up to absolutely stunning views of the estuary everyday was very refreshing! We will definitely be returning and telling all of our friends about this wonderful place and look forward to the installation of the new shower block.
