TEMPORARY COUNTYWIDE CLOSURE - COVID 19 (except emergency/health workers). 1BR Tamarack Cottage is a cheerful mini-version of great-grandma's 40s farmhouse shoehorned into a wee depression-era cottage. Small but comfy, with wifi and smart HDTV (antenna/Netflix), hang out inside or explore beautiful north central Washington. Regional attractions are easy jaunts -- mere minutes to a couple hours each way. Grocery store 2 blocks away. Not suitable for children or the physically challenged. No pets.
Tamarack is one of my Kokanee Cottages -- the east half of what may be the world's smallest duplex. (Pine Cone is the west half, separate entrances at opposite ends of buidling.) Even though Tamarack is a wee one-bedroom unit, it has everything you need to make your stay in the country a pleasure -- a little kitchen with vintage kitchen queen and apartment-sized classic harvest gold range, microwave, crockpot, blender, toaster, wee food processor, espresso machine, and regular coffeemaker. A full-size fridge/freezer guarantees you'll never have to worry about cold drinks. No dishwasher, but a nice porcelain double sink. The classic chrome and yellow Formica kitchen table is a cheery focal point, and a place to roll out cookie dough because countertop space is pretty much nonexistent. Check out the art nouveau pressback chairs, which don't go with the table the least little bit, but I couldn't resist them, and you've got to sit on something. The smart HDTV (antenna/Netflix) and Blu-ray DVD player perch on the living room curio case. The Victorian-style daybed has a super-comfy memory foam mattress and scads of cushions to prop you up as much as you want. The overflow teacups and teapots from neighboring Nootka Rose Cottage are in the curved glass curio cabinet along with the crystal wine glasses, sip sip. Vintage floral prints and etchings and an awesome tole sconce sweeten up the living room. In the bedroom, a 50s bed frame (turquoise as found) goes perfectly with the cheerful plaid patchwork and floral cotton quilts. The mattress is divine. My most favorite fine art print (baby ducklings by Carl Brenders) welcomes you when you enter, and a classic landscape offers a restful view when it's time to go to sleep after a glorious day in the country. The two Royal Canadian Mounted Police vintage prints in the cottage are a nod to my Canadian roots. The bathroom has the usual facilities without, actually, a bath (just a shower). And a really big floral print I scored at the Barter Fair for a pittance.
Geralyne’s vacation home is located in Okanogan, Washington, United States. The City of Okanogan (the county seat but in all respects a small town) is centrally located in Okanogan Valley in north central Washington, putting you right in the middle of a great area to explore and enjoy. The city pool and Okanogan River are two blocks away; Salmon Creek even closer. The city also boasts a historical museum and farmers market. A nice grocery store is just two blocks north of the cottages. The best fries on the planet are served at The Club tavern, within walking distance. (Their burgers and steaks are awesome, too.) The best breakfasts are at the Stockyard Cafe, a local haunt that is off the tourist track, and Smallwoods (2 miles south), where you can also buy organic produce and artisanal foods (they smoke their own meats in the summer, try their Porker). The Breadline Cafe 4 miles north in Omak, check out their Saturday brunch. Also in Omak is Valley Lanes, if you're inclined to go bowling, and who wouldn't be? Beautiful Omak Lake is a mere 9 miles away, a hidden gem on the Colville Reservation and thus far totally undeveloped except for outhouses at the gorgeous beach nestled between granite cliffs that are mysteriously not crawling with climbers practicing for El Capitan. Balance Rock is 3 miles farther along the lake (a very short hike from the road), and if fishing is your thing, the lake is teeming with Lahontan cutthroat. The north central area of Washington state is still a bit of a mystery for many coasties, so nip on over and see what they haven't discovered yet. Come over one spectacular mountain pass and go back over another. Regional attractions are all easy day trips by car -- no more than 2 hours each way. Double back or see more by making loop trips. Visit Bavarian-style Leavenworth, the Old West town of Winthrop, or the ghost town of Molson. Enjoy the beaches of Chelan or Penticton, B.C. Admire back road mountain and desert scenery (don't miss Grand Coulee) or lush orchards and vineyards (Canada's top wine-growing region starts at the border, my favorite winery is Blasted Church just south of Penticton). Stop to look at wildlife and take photos of a million postcard views. Hike, hunt for antiques, fossils, gold; go swimming, boating, fishing. Taste the local produce in season, or eat out at wonderful restaurants, cafes, and pubs. Rodeos add excitement in summer – the Omak Stampede with its famous Suicide Race is just 4 miles from the cottage! My favorite used/new bookstore (Daydream Books) is at the north end of town (the little house with the lions out front). It's a great area to do a great many things, or even better, maybe, do absolutely nothing.

Peaceful and secluded. It's time to unwind and unplug in this two bedroom home with sweeping mountain views and a northern light show located on the Okanogan Historical Loop (near Chesaw). The lack of light pollution allows you to enjoy the starry skies while sitting on the wrap around porch or propped-up on pillows in either bedroom. Washer /Dryer, full bath and all modern amenities included. Mudroom and dogbed ready for your four legged friend.
Just across the border from the Canadian Mediterranean, vineyards to explore for daytrips. One mile out of historical Chesaw - home of the world famous 4th of July Rodeo. Also just 15 minutes from the Sitzmark ski area and the Highlands SnoPark. The Beaver Lake rope swing is a popular local attraction sure to please your children and cool you off at the end of a summer day.
The historical city of Molson is a full day's adventure, ice fishing competitions in the winter and a museum that you won't soon forget. If the Chesaw Tavern isn't enough, then a quick jaunt to the quaint city of Republic will provide more dining choices as well as the opportunity to dig for fossils at StoneRose.

This upstairs apartment is located on a working certified organic, urban farm in the rural town of Okanogan. It is conveniently on a paved road, near Hwy 20, but in a quiet and kid friendly neighborhood.
This upstairs apartment is all yours during your stay. It is new construction, clean and fresh, with nothing on the walls and lots of natural light. It is warm and we provide blankets. In the summer you can open the windows and listen to the crickets. There is an air conditioner. This place is on a working organic farm set between houses with active kids. There is a commercial kitchen below the apartment so you will probably catch the aromas of artisan bread or sweet pop tarts baking, or farm fresh tomatoes roasting. While you will certainly enjoy quiet time you will also note the hustle and bustle of an industrious family and employees. Pots, pans, water kettle, French press, glasses and mugs, plates, silverware, etc. is there for you. In the photos you will see the stairs - it is not handicap accessible.
Kid friendly. Quiet and active. Calm and fun. Few cars.

Located just 2 1/2 miles from Highway 97 on mostly paved roads in the Okanogan Highlands, our land overlooks the Okanogan River valley, with 180 degree view of the many mountain peaks of the northern Cascades from Conconully to the south to well into Canada to the north. Our 16' tipi has a wooden floor inside to keep you off the ground, and has room for at least four sleeping bags plus your gear.
Your host, Two Eagles, is a Hippie elder, a priest for Mother Earth, an astrologer, and a naturist. He lived in tipis year around in this area for twenty years, and is well versed in tipi lore.
We are located next to state land, and very close to the Okanogan National Forest, and a Big Horned Sheep protected area. Several recreational lakes with boating, fishing and swimming are located nearby. A winery with live weekly entertainment is located less than two miles down the road. Several excellent hiking trails are nearby.

The health and safety of our guests, homeowners, and employees is our number one priority. Many of our vacation rentals minimize person-to-person contact with private amenities and entry via smart locks or lockboxes. Plus, each reservation is backed by 24/7 customer support and expert cleaning in line with current CDC guidelines.
Deepwater Cabin is a solid timber framed structure built into the mountain side on the edge of the National Forest in a true, remote wilderness area. It is one of the very last waterfront dwellings up-lake, to the Northwest, that is still accessible by car. The cabin's grass- and fern-covered sod roof blends into the vegetation of its perch on a rocky point surrounded by sparkling blue Lake Chelan waters. The location on a point gives expansive views up, down and across the lake. Deepwater is half an hours’ drive from Chelan, far from any town lights, so one can see countless brilliant stars on a typical clear night. Watch shooting stars under the Milky Way. In the day you will watch flocks of swallows swoop through the air catching insects, and osprey flying by, patrolling the shore for fish. To access the lake, a steep trail switches back through rocky terraces down to a solid, newly built stairway and dock. At the clear, deep waters edge, swimmers can launch into the refreshing blue depths. Boaters will have access to explore miles and miles of wilderness shoreline with a kayak, canoe or paddle board. Be aware that the lake access at Deepwater is very steep, so launching may be easier at the nearby 25 Mile State Park, a short paddle to the South. Inside, the cabin is classic, simple, and cozy, with big sunny windows and two double patio doors. The two wings provide a sleeping space and a living/dining area, with the bath and kitchen in between. The bathroom has a new washing machine and a shower with plenty of pressure; pure water pumped straight from Lake Chelan! There is a drying rack for your wet laundry, which solar drys quickly on a typical sunny blue sky day. The compact kitchen offers all major appliances offering all you need for great foodie meals, and the sunny, open patio is wonderful for reading, having meals and enjoying time together and an amazing place to chillax. A small gas grill awaits your steaks or brats, or the beautiful trout the fisher-persons in the party may bring up from the lake, where the big fish swim by the dock, hungry for worms. A very comfortable queen-size log bed will accommodate two, while the living/dining area features a brand new fold-out full-size sofabed and an older long sofa for lounging and sleeping, accommodating one or two extra persons. The cabin is most appropriate for a couple or small family, it can sleep up to four; ideally, family or close friends since there is little privacy here! It's best to bring your own sleeping bags for any more than two, since the linens provided are for the queen bed only. Please note: Deepwater is located on steep topography, not appropriate for unsupervised small children, but an extraordinary get away for adventurers and outdoor lovers ~ those who enjoy wilderness, silence, and simplicity. Be aware there is no internet available at this location, but there is a land line phone for emergency calls. Rattlesnakes, lynx, and mountain lions have been seen in the area, but are shy and eager to avoid people. Wild turkey and herds of deer are common. Beware the deer when driving South Lake Shore Road. The historic, scenic South Lake Shore Trail built in the 40s by the CCC parallels the lake shore and begins just a short walk away. Larger boats can be launched at Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park, which is less than a mile from the cabin. Miles of Forest Service logging roads meander the hills just behind the property, providing access to National Forest lands for mountain bikers to explore the unparalleled wilderness beauty above the lake. The town of Chelan has good restaurants, fun shops, a great health food store, and plenty of local wine tasting. The region has many wineries and vineyards, so you may want to take a day to sample the local fare. One day of your visit can be spent on the Lady of The Lake, the local ferry, going up-lake to the remote community of Stehekin, which has a great bakery and access to amazing hikes in the North Cascades National Park. Another day trip nearby could be to Holden Village, a Lutheran Camp 12 miles up into the mountains, which also can be reached on The Lady of the Lake ferry. This is a playful, festive intentional community which is open to guests and provides meals and full accommodations in a village that was once a thriving copper mine. Deep Water Cabin is an ideal setting to explore and play in the water and mountains, relax and refresh, and soak in the bright sunny skies and the vast deep blue beauty of the lake. Come enjoy a getaway in gorgeous Lake Chelan! * Please note: Minimum renter age is 25 years old. This applies to all guests that will be occupying the unit with the exception of multi-generational families.

GO COUGS

TEMPORARY COUNTYWIDE CLOSURE - COVID 19 (except emergency/health workers). 1BR Pine Cone Cottage is a bit of wild west and a dash of modern technology shoehorned into a wee depression-era cottage in beautiful north central Washington State. (West half of duplex, separate entrances at opposite ends of building.) Small but comfy, with wifi and smart HDTV (antenna/Netflix), this is a NW history lover's ideal base camp. Not suitable for children or the physically challenged. No pets.
Pine Cone is one of my Kokanee Cottages -- the west half of what may be the world's smallest duplex. Even though it is a wee one-bedroom unit, it has everything you need to make your stay in the country a pleasure. Enjoy a full kitchen (albeit with no counter space) with a microwave, blender, crockpot, coffee maker, and espresso machine. Kick back with wifi, HD SmartTV, Blue-ray player and DVDs, and a library of classic western fiction (Louis L'Amour, Zane Grey), historical non-fiction, and modern suspense thrillers while lounging on the comfy leather couch and antique rocking chair. A classic wireframe bistro set let’s you dine in style. The antique double brass bed with 12-inch memory foam mattress and cotton sheets and quilts promises a great night's sleep. Gorgeous limited edition and vintage nature art prints line the walls. Not quite a man cave (although the beer signs in the kitchen make an effort), the cowboys and indians décor leans toward the masculine yet still has plenty of appeal for womenfolk. My son convinced me to hang on to the vintage blue bathroom fixtures, which are set off by my finest paint-by-number pictures (to keep the cottage humble). Check out my latest collection -- vintage cedar souvenir boxes.

Located just 2 1/2 miles from Highway 97 on mostly paved roads in the Okanogan Highlands, our land overlooks the Okanogan River valley, with 180 degree view of the many mountain peaks of the northern Cascades from Conconully to the south to well into Canada to the north. Pitch your tent or park your RV or trailer in any of several locations in our fenced in field, or camp in any of several locations on our lower, more isolated field.
Your host, Two Eagles, a Hippie elder, a priest for Mother Earth, an astrologer, and a naturist, lived in tipis year around in this area for twenty years
We are located next to state land, and very close to the Okanogan National Forest, and a Big Horned Sheep protected area. Several recreational lakes with boating, fishing and swimming are located nearby. A winery with live weekly entertainment is located less than two miles down the road. Several excellent hiking trails are nearby.
Merci!

This is a small cabin. It has a small but ample bathroom and kitchen. A full size bed on the main floor and a full size sleeping pad in the loft. Even though it s small in size it is very clean and cozy.
If you have ever heard of the tiny house movement this is it. People that love the outdoors love this cabin.
This is a quiet neighborhood. With a modern country store that is known for its first class baked goods, sandwiches, beer and Pizza Night. The Happy Hour at the Freestone Inn is also great. If you want some good music & great beer try The Old School House Brewery in Winthrop. Bikes can be rented in Mazama at the bike shop or store.
  • Super espace.

Fantastic century old farmhouse located on a working cattle ranch in the rural Okanogan Valley. The Guesthouse puts you in the middle of an outdoor wonderland. Adventure awaits! Enjoy exclusive access to the property while you stay. Nearby access to public land as well. Stay and play in the beautiful Okanogan Valley!
Since 1940, Grandma's house has been a place of fun and rejuvenation. It was fondly nicknamed "The Halfway House" because it is a delightful place to get lost! Located just 9 miles south of Conconully, WA it has been a favorite stop to friends and family on their way to outdoor adventure. The Conconully area is known for it's central access to thousands of acres of state and federal land. It is an oasis of wide open spaces for every kind of outdoor enthusiast. Rich in the tradition of cattle ranching, Conconully is still home to working families, like ours. Grandma's house sits in the middle of our farm/ranch operation and on any given day you will witness the caretaking of animals and stewardship of the land. The house has a light, happy atmosphere and all of the comforts of home. Approximately 1500 square feet, the house has three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a nice washer and dryer set, a spacious kitchen with everything you need to create awesome meals and a big open dining room and living room. The beds, matresses, bedding and towels are all BRAND NEW! The majority of the house is covered with hardwood floors with exception to the two back bedrooms which are carpet. The décor is rustic western and includes many family heirlooms like cowhide rugs and animal furs as well as pictures and memorabilia from our cattle ranch. Hairdryers, soaps, trash bags and coffee are provided. The Halfway House sits in the middle of fields and meadows, only 300 feet from the creek. Guests will enjoy wildlife year round as the ranch is home to thousand of game birds, hawks, eagles, herons, geese, muledeer, whitetail deer, coyotes, bobcats and an occasional black bear. The creek is home to Rainbow Trout and some whopper Brown Trout for the fishing enthusiast. (Catch and release only.) Nearby lakes are home to Blue Gill, Crappie, Bass, Trout and Kokanee. The Okanogan and Columbia Rivers host Steelhead and Salmon fishing opportunities just a short drive from the house. Bring your rubber boots and hiking boots!! Little ones can spend entire days in the meadow, netting bugs and tadpoles during the summer months or tromping and playing in the snow during winter. There is wifi access and a brand new 65 inch Samsung Smart UHD TV as well as a desk space, but we encourage you to unplug and go outside!!! The house has air conditioning and central heat as well as a toasty propane fireplace to warm you up after a day in the fresh cool air. The well water is clean and clear - no need to pack bottled water. EXTRA GUESTS (after 2 people) cost $15 each per day. We greet personally and clean the house ourselves. No chance of cheating on this one!!! 10 people is the absolute max. NO PETS! NO SMOKING! NO DRUGS! NO "FARM HATERS" OR "COW HATERS!" *This is a working farm/ranch operation. If you have a bad attitude about agriculture, don't come here!! We look forward to your stay and will make every effort to keep you comfortable and happy. If you have any questions about outdoor activities in our surrounding area, we would be happy to hook you up with the experience you are looking for! We have close access to Outfitters and Guides for hunting, fishing, horseback riding and many other incredible opportunities. We are a short 40 minute drive from the Loop Loop Ski Hill and there are several great restaurants in the surrounding area that you don't want to miss. Give us a call for more information at (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) to get your vacation planning underway!
We LOVE our neighbors! Please be respectful. Around here, everybody waves hello and is happy to lend a hand. Our neighbors are like family.

Our Studio apartment sits on a perch above the beautiful Methow Valley. We have a 180 degree view from the Chelan Sawtooths to Pasaytin Wilderness that will not disappoint. The studio is a comfortable clean space with a kitchenette and 3/4 bath. Our house does have a formidable driveway that once the snow hits you will need to have 4 wheel drive with potentially chains or studs. The rest of the year any car can get up the driveway. We are a short drive to town 10 min.
Our studio apartment has an excellent view of the Methow Valley and is only a 10 min drive to town where you can go to a pub, ciderhouse, or one of the many delicious restaurants. In the morning there is a bakery or coffee shop in town both with wonderful breakfast treats. Our house is on 40 acres and there is plenty of exploring right out the front door here. We also are a few minutes away from pipestone canyon. The room has a double bed futon and a blow up double mattress that is quite comfortable. Also a space heater in the winter and forced air and in the summer stays cool and comfortable!
