“The Discovery Centre showcases the beautiful Daintree rainforest whilst explaining the significance of this diverse and ancient part of our planet. A series of platforms takes you right up into the highest tree-tops, explaing the wildlife that inhabits each of the many levels . Not to be missed!”

“This hotel boasts good old fashioned service and friendly staff that treat locals and visitors to the region alike. It’s the perfect place to relax with a cold drink indoors or outdoors on the verandah. Call in and see the longest single planked timber bar in the Southern hemisphere. There is live music most Saturday evenings. The hotel also has its own bottle shop to purchase takeaways. ”

“A great spot for breakfast or lunch and only 5 minutes drive from Daintree Secrets. The collection of reptiles and parrots is fabulous! Don't miss the beautiful walk behind the cafe along the creek ( take some bug spray)”

“This is a gem and my favourite beach in the world! Just a short 400 metre stroll from Butterfly Bend Guest House, Cow Bay Beach features three secluded bays and is the perfect place to visit for a relaxing walk, picnic or to simply sit and watch the sun set over the ocean in the evening.”

“Located just 10-minutes drive from Butterfly Bend Guest House and next door to the Daintree Discovery Centre, the Jindalba (meaning ‘foot of the mountain’) boardwalk is a 650m easy walk exploring tropical lowland rainforest. Near the entrance of the Jindalba Boardwalk is the start of the Jindalba Circuit Track. This forest walk is 3km return and well marked but is stony in places and crosses rainforest creeks. A reasonable level of fitness is required. ”

“Just a 10-minute drive from Butterfly Bend Guest House, take the time to call in and experience family owned and operated Lync-Haven. It serves delicious food from its licenced café restaurant, and offers visitors a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with snakes, lizards, birds, wallabies and resident crocodile Doris. Take the opportunity to search for cassowaries with a stroll along the property's boardwalk which meanders through the rainforest and along a lovely fresh water creek. It's also a great place to pick up tourist information (maps, booklets and brochures) and make tour bookings. ”

“No travel to the Daintree is complete without a visit to Floravilla! It is a true biodynamic organic experience that will surpass any ice cream connoisseur's expectations. Using organically grown tropical fruit and made on the premises, there is over 26 flavours to choose from and they are all good. My two favourites are Spices of Life and the Coconut and Ginger! Floravilla is located on the corner of Cape Tribulation Road and Buchanan Creek Road. You will drive straight past it on your way to Butterfly Bend Guest House. ”
