Lodging
“Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Kalama Harbor Pub. Lunch specials include rice bowls, sandwiches, pizza, burgers and salads. The dinner menu includes fresh fish and Hawaiian island-influenced flair. The Lillikoi-Coconut Tart is Marie's favorite dessert! Enjoy free, live music every Wed & Thurs night in the Harbor Lounge. Ascend to the Cloud Bar for a birds-eye view of the Columbia River. Pet friendly. Family friendly. Lodging and gift shop on site. Artwork by local artists (including Marie Wise)! Strategically located on the Columbia River waterfront next to the amphitheatre and marine park complex. Parking is plentiful. Opened April 2018.”

“BBQ style food. My favorite is the smokehouse philly and the Ruben. They have a variety of BBQ meat platters and sides including Mac n cheese, potato salad, beans, coleslaw. They also have a wedge salad, Cobb, and I think a salmon one. Constantly rotating their beer & wine list. 21+ only. ”

“Military photos & memorabilia cover the walls of this booth-lined American breakfast & lunch joint. It is a favorite for home-cooked breakfasts with a serving of Americana nostalgia. Very highly reviewed. Located in Woodland, Washington, just 8 short miles south of Kalama.”

“Family style Americana restaurant featuring classic selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There's a bar in the back where the locals hang out. Family friendly and great for groups. Marie's favorite is the Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato sandwich on sourdough with a glass of wine. Conveniently located at the north end of town. Plentiful parking. The claim to fame is Elvis Presley's visit in the 1960s. There's a placard on the building about it, and plenty of memorabilia.”

Restaurant
“This is such a cool place. It's down some stairs below the sidewalk on Commerce St in Longview. By day it is Gyros Gyros Cafe. At 4pm it becomes Bowers' Down Restaurant. Both are owned and run by a local farm to table restauranteur. You will be amazed at his locally sourced and hand crafted dishes!! He butchers his own meat from his farm. He's an endless source of entertainment and information. Highly recommend you call for reservations if going during Bowers' Down time.”

“Great wedge salad—I advise adding bacon & avocado. Favorite drink is the lemon basil-tini! A few beers & wines but better known for their mixed drinks. They have fondue & some flatbread pizza & sandwiches. I like the calamari appetizer with the dipping sauces! Some other eats on the menu as well. Small but nice venue. ”
