Logements à Dallesport
Located along a year-round creek, within walking distance of downtown, restaurants, and shopping, but feels like out in the country. Private entrance, well-equipped kitchen, large family room, bedroom (queen bed), bathroom w/shower, and cozy patio.
This apartment is the daylight basement of our home. It has a private entrance and is private from the rest of our home. It's large and roomy, and we've furnished it with comfortable country charm. Wood and tile floors throughout, except in the bedroom which is newly carpeted. The kitchen is equipped with dishes, cookware, several small appliances, cook top, microwave/convection oven, a refrigerator, and a few staples for cooking. There is no dishwasher, but paper plates can be used if you'd rather not wash dishes. The bedroom is large, and the queen bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is small, but functional, and you don't have to share it with anyone! The family room is large but cozy, and is equipped with a large-screen smart TV, with cable. Wi-fi is available. The futon sofa in the family room easily makes up into a full sized bed. The futon mattress is brand new as of October. There is also a queen-sized air mattress available. The yard is large and well-maintained, and you can enjoy it from the patio of the apartment.
We do live near other homes, but the back of our property opens onto a very private setting, with lots of trees and wildlife, including many kinds of birds, deer, raccoons, squirrels, and even the occasional fox.
  • We were staying out on the coast and drove to The Dalles for our last night in Oregon. Debi was super helpful. We were not sure when we would arrive so Debi kept in contact so we knew when the apt was ready and how to get to her home. That evening when we arrive, we found the apt was just as her pictures described. Its warm and inviting, the living area and bedroom are spacious and comfortable. The shower is a bit small but my six-three husband made it work so it wasn't a problem. Debi was so kind. She stopped in to see that we had all that we needed, then left us to our privacy. She had breakfast foods available. We had toast, fruit and yogurt for breakfast! Thank you Debi, that was a great way to start our long drive home. Oh! when you step outside the apt, you can hear the creek and catch a glimpse of it below the property. It had rained so we were unable to walk down but its something we like to do in the future. We hope to stay with you again soon. Thanks Debi!

  • The Mill Creek Get-Away surpassed all my hopes. It is in a lovely setting next to Mill Creek, and is very quiet and calm. Debi was right there to meet us and very understanding about our uncertain arrival time. The apartment is spacious yet cozy, and beautifully appointed with thoughtful touches like quilted throws, basic staples in the cupboards, and a nicely stocked refrigerator. The linens are top quality and the bed was very comfortable. Even though it was in the 'teens outside, the temperature inside (regulated by a heat pump) was very pleasant. I can't wait to stay here again!

  • This is a very comfortable place to stay. Exceptionally roomy and the bed is so comfortable! The grounds are incredibly lovely. I recommend a walk down to the picturesque creek.

  • this place is womderful- clean, comfy bed and a pull out fouton -- we only stayed one night-- but we were VERY pleased and id recommend this spot for anyone travelling the gorge who needs a great place to stop.

  • Debi was a wonderful host. She stocked the refrigerator with morning staples (a huge help to us) and her home was well equipped and clean. The directions were very clear for check in and out. Location was beautiful. We were only there for one night and wished we could have stayed longer.

    Karen2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • To have a porch that overlooks a clear creek and a comfortable bed, is a luxury when away from home. Mill Creek Get Away had fresh strawberries (in season) from the house garden, horses, goats, barn cats and Oscar, their friendly dog. The apartment was delightful with a plant to add to the "at home feeling" as well as plenty of games and a book of things to do while in the area. Debi was close by when needed and very helpful. I had come to sort through lots of family photos and Debi was most accommodating with my chore. I hope to visit again!

    Elizabeth2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Debi`s place is one of the most spacious retreats we`ve enjoyed. We appreciated the well equipped kitchen and amenities. Everything was clean and neat as a pin. We enjoyed our conversations and appreciated her suggestions for eating places and sightseeing. We even got to see her horses getting shoed. We didn`t want to leave this cozy retreat.

  • Debi at Mill Creek Get Away, is the perfect host. The place was very clean comfortable, and so quiet after a Long drive for my husband and I. I just wish we could have stayed longer! If we get that way in the future, we will stay there again! Kevin and Jalann Marshall, Glendale, Az

  • We found ourselves on the road without reservations. In searching the area where we wanted to stay the only hotel rooms available were $140+ a night. On AirBNB I was able to find Mitchell's place and booked 2 nights just about an hour before we arrived. Mitch and Linda have spent about 1.5 yrs restoring their main house and one of two cottages on their property. We were very pleased with the accommodations and the amenities especially the extra touches. They had milk, eggs, bagels, butter and assorted beverages in the refrigerator. They also had a good selection of individual cereals including oatmeal. If I am ever in the area at a future date, I would make reservations without hesitation. Thank you Mitch and Linda.

  • Outstanding! Spotlessly clean. Amazing amenities! Everything I needed and more! So great!

  • Great stay. Small house had a lot of charm and comfort. Air conditioning was able to keep up but had to run it on high to keep up with the heat outside. Refrigerator was very well stocked and we enjoyed cooking with the stainless ware supplied. The coffee was great and we had a big selection. Enjoyed the privacy but did hear the airport traffic if we opened the windows. Luckily it was hot and we enjoyed the air cond. Also enjoyed our short drive into The Dalles and Hood River for dinner. I would recommend this small bungalow especially if you don’t mind driving to food and entertainment.

Make yourself at home in my updated craftsman house nestled on a quiet dead end street. Whip up a meal in the kitchen, watch a movie in the media room, or read a book on the porch. You'll have a room to yourself with a bed that feels like you're sleeping on a cloud. The bathroom is shared, but you'll have private use of it the majority of the time.
Built in 1916 this updated craftsman has a lot of character. The guest room and bathroom is on the main floor of the house, but if you want to access the media room (TV, movies) you'll have to go down some stairs into the basement.
My house is located on a quiet dead end street with views of the Columbia and Klickitat Mountains. It is a quick 10-15 minute walk downtown to restaurants, tap rooms, shops, and the farmer's market.
  • Sierra was a great host. Her home was welcoming and warm. I'll stay again if I pass through the Dalles.

    Caitlin2018-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, very comfortable. Sierra is very friendly and make you feel welcome!

    Lily2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sierra was very accommodating and respectful! She even invited me to join in the delicious dinner she cooked, and also shared unique opportunities experiencing the wine country here in the Gorge. Very respectful of space and privacy, highly recommended!

  • Sierra was an incredibly welcoming host, though we didn't have the opportunity to do much more than say hello and goodbye, she made us feel right at home. The house is a short drive or nice walk from the city center of the Dalles, and we enjoyed taking advantage of that. I'd love to stay here again if we're back in the area.

Enjoy our luxurious rustic yurt in the Columbia River Gorge. Come to play in the Gorge and retire to your own private yurt surrounded by Nature in the scenic town of Mosier. Check in on week days has changed to 5:00 pm because I am usually teaching 7:00-3:30, weekends can be 3:00 arrival. Open to flexible scheduling via texting if possible.
The yurt is located about 100 feet from my house. Parking is in my drive, then walk behind my house to the yurt. 24 foot yurt in private location in scrub oak/ evergreen forest.
We are located about 10 miles from both Hood River and The Dalles. The town of Mosier is 4 miles from our location. The Columbia River Gorge has much to offer in the way of outdoor recreation, wine and beer tasting, dining, shopping and much more to explore.
  • Dormir dans une yourte fut une expérience très sympa. Et prendre son café le matin en pleine nature, à regarder passer des biches, ca n'a pas de prix!! Merci Margaret pour cette expérience inoubliable.

    Childebert2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in the hills of Mosier. Beautiful views. We loved the yurt - it had everything we needed for making dinner and breakfast. Also, the shower and toilet views are an awesome experience. Thanks!

    Holly2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • This yurt is fantastic! Margaret has done a phenomenal job taking glamping to the next level with plenty of creature comforts. This was our first time staying in a yurt, and I think we were pretty spoiled. We loved hanging out on the deck with yummy Hood River beers, enjoying the sunset then the incredible moon at night. The outdoor shower is built for two, and it's an unbeatable nature connection (especially in the summer). Wish we stayed longer and hope to be back soon!

  • Great place to stay while hiking

    Daniel2017-07-19T00:00:00Z

    Alicia2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome host and location!

    Alex2018-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a unique stay in a quiet setting, this is the place. We happened to stay following a recent snow event and the wood heater kept us plenty warm. Margaret's son, Quinn, was our host and he was timely and curious (great job Quinn!). We hiked around the property and took in the snowy scenery. Everything we needed for the night wrapped up in the yurt; we will definitely return.

    Andrew2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A secluded gem with lots of privacy. Perfect romantic getaway. Loved the outdoor shower! Margaret was responsive and respectful of privacy. Highly recommend this place!

This beautiful cabin is set by itself in the arm of a bend in the Klickitat River. The sunlight streams in during the day, and no lights intrude at night, making an incomparable star scene, as viewed from the rooftop deck. It's cozy and warm, with a woodstove to keep you company on a chilly night.
Welcome to the beautiful Klickitat River valley, in the heart of canyon country. Nestled between several facets of the Klickitat River's winding walls, you'll feel safe n' snug while away on the river; the mighty gorge winds barely nudge us up here (most days!) We are situated just four miles from highway 14 in Lyle (off easily navigable highway 142), so although there's a bit of an "away from it all" feel while here, you're close to the Columbia River gorge for all manner of activities, as well as a launching pad for Mt. Adams up north, and Mt. Hood down south. Hood River, White Salmon, Bingen, the Dalles..all within a twenty minute drive in whatever direction you choose. Hiking, sailing, kite-boarding and windsurfing, mountain climbing and cycling, fly fishing and kayaking, all these activities and many more abound in the area, and we are just beyond the fabled "rain shadow", so your assurance of sunny weather is more predictable than west of the Cascades (we receive around half the rainfall of Portland). It can get quite warm in late summer in the east gorge, yet this little corner of the river bend is shady and cool. This lovely, freestanding cabin is 384 square feet, fully self-contained, and is very comfortable for either a weekend stay or longer (it is behind the dwelling the landlord resides in). There is a rooftop deck, with overhead lights and a gas grill for your pleasure. It's an informal setting around here, with plenty of space outside to stow fishing poles, windsurfing gear, etc. New queen-size bed (with memory-foam topper), gas oven and stove, window coverings (blinds), well-water pump outside, lots of parking on gravel drive, and a newly-installed air conditioning unit are the general amenities here at the cabin. There are modern conveniences like: microwave oven/coffee machine/television etc, so it's more than a rustic getaway, and the wood stove will heat the space efficiently, and in quick order.
This is a safe, private community of just a few homes. We pride ourselves on having a neighborhood feel in the midst of the Klickitat River canyon.
  • What a wonderful place to stay! My husband and I wanted to find a place close to everything the Columbia River Gorge has to offer but is far enough from the bustle. This cabin was perfect! Only a few miles from wineries and hiking trails, it's tucked away in a secluded grove of trees and is a wonderful place to relax. The cabin was spotless, comfortable, and offered all the amenities we needed to feel right at home (such as a full kitchen). Roberta was responsive to our questions, provided some very helpful tips for our visit to the area (like where to hike to see some of the best wildflowers this time of year), and you can tell she takes pride in making sure her guests feel welcome and comfortable. Thanks so much Roberta!

    Lesley2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Roberta's cabin is well situated north of Lyle making it a very easy to drive to hikes, kayaking and swimming spot, etc. The cabin is really well designed with plenty of space for us our dogs. It was very clean with towels galore! We enjoyed both the wood fireplace and the AC unit as the days were hot and the nights were cool after swimming. Fire wood, chairs, grill, and farm fresh eggs were great bonuses for our quick weekend trip. Would definitely stay there again!

    Sarah2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was the most perfect place to spend a quiet Christmas! It was breathtakingly beautiful with all the snow, and Roberta and Erik made sure I was apprised of weather and driving conditions and were so very accommodating even over the holiday. The place had absolutely everything I needed and the wood stove kept us so very cozy, with a space heater as a backup. I can't wait to return to check out the area in a different season. You'll absolutely love hearing and seeing the river nearby!

  • This cabin is perfect. Extremely peaceful setting in a beautiful canyon. Lady is a sweetie! The cabin is very clean and cozy and had everything we needed for a mini Thanksgiving holiday for 2! Thanks again!

    Wendy2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Roberta's little cabin was just delightful! The area is peaceful, beautiful, and you can hear the river from the cabin.

    Jocelyn2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a great quite get-a-way not far from Portland. The home was well equipped and comfortable. We particularly loved the roof-top patio. It was awesome for grilling! There is no cell service at the home, but it has great wifi (cell service can be found near-by for necessary calls). The weather was great when we were there and we enjoyed some local hiking and swimming. Great trip!

Our cozy 1 bedroom cabin is the perfect place for a romantic getaway or a relaxing escape. Located on 26 acres where deer and turkey roam. Just a few minutes away from I-84 and Hood River.
Clean, charming, country cottage in the woods.
Relatively secluded property among the trees feels like so far away from the hubbub, but is close to major attractions and tourist activities.
  • This cabin was just what we were looking for. It's 15 min from downtown Hood River but still feels remote and secluded and the property was beautiful. The cabin was well stocked and actually looked more like an individual hotel suite in the woods! We'll definitely see if it's available next time we're in Hood River.

    Rachel2016-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This review, like the others, will be glowing. The space speaks for itself. Rachel has created beautiful, clean, upscale space in a truly breathtaking location. The rural secluded feeling in contrast to the modern amenities and comfort work seamlessly together. We travel on Christmas each year to do some cross-country skiing and this little Moiser gem was the perfect jumping off place. It's minutes from Hood River and a short trip up the mountain. We had two days of great skiing and weather. The location is perfect if you want to head into Hood River for dinner or shopping and then home to your incredible views and quiet. We chose to eat in town two days and make a nice meal on Christmas day. The cabin has everything you need and was perfectly equipped to make a meal large or small. One of many highlights of the trip was a Christmas morning surprise as 30-40 wild turkeys showed up in front of the cabin and milled around for a short time before disappearing into the woods. It was an amazing sight. We cannot wait to return in the summer months to explore more of what this unique little spot holds. Thanks Rachel!

  • We absolutely loved staying here. It is a beautiful place to unplug and relax. The cabin is perfect and had everything you could possibly want. We look forward to staying there in the future. :)

    Ashley2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • We travel quite a bit around the US, Canada and Mexico. I must say that the guest home Rachel provided was one of the best, if not the best we have stayed in the last 5 years. Spotless, extremely well appointed and you wanted for nothing. So quiet at night and in the morning we got to see the wonderful wild turkeys and playful squirrels. What magnificent birds and the squirrels seemed to enjoy playing with them. Highly recommend this home and Rachel was great in all our dealings with her. Five star rating for sure!

  • Perfect setup. One of the most comfortable and cleanest places I've stayed. My wife and I will be back!

    Jonathan2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We were delighted with this lovely cabin. Quiet and in a beautiful location in Mosier. Ten-minute drive to Hood River. It was a hot spell in Mosier but the cabin was air-conditioned. The kitchen and living room furnishings were great. Rachel was very friendly in her communications. It was perfect two-day stop.

    Clyde2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Loved the cleanliness, easy check in, amenities, location and the view was amazing. Prefect for my quiet needed getaway. Thank you for the quick responses and great communication. Highly recommended!!

  • We absolutely loved this private wooded getaway. Was very close to Hood River(5miles) but more secluded and quiet. Loved the modern eclectic decor. The washer and dryer was very convenient and the place was immaculate!!! We wish we would of had more time to enjoy the place instead of many activities and wedding things to do. Would of been great to just be there and rest.

This house is perched above the Columbia River and is only a short drive from a popular put in for wind surfers. The view here is amazing! It's very secluded but is only three miles from town. The apartment has granite counter tops and beautiful cabinets, new carpets. Situated as a walk out basement apartment, it has it's own deck and yard. In winter there is a chance for snow. Some years we get a lot of snow. It is a good idea to use a four wheel drive if available.
There is probably no better view of the Columbia River than here. The house is about 1100 feet above the river and the town of Mosier which gives great views of everything below. The rental space is comfortable and quiet.
  • Great place on the Gorge for those who want peace and quiet. Close to trails and both larger cities - The Dalles and Hood River, without the noise and confusion of town. Lovely drive into flower covered hills, up to beautiful views. The apt has all that you need - well stocked kitchen, thick towels, nice bedding, tv/dvd, internet. Great dog too! Jasper was a hoot. Brenda was friendly and welcomed us, but left us privacy. Good value. Appreciated small touches, like the garlic powder, cooking oil and small containers for left-overs.

    Tina2018-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • beautiful location and wonderful personal touches everywhere! if u want to get away from the hustle n bustle and relax in nature's beauty, this is the place to go!

  • Beautiful, secluded, quiet, serene. The hosts were very thoughtful and accommodating, without being intrusive. They thought of everything; from the bowl of local cherries waiting for us to the recommendations for local hikes. We didn't explore much during our stay, but we didn't have to because the scenery/entertainment came to us. Aside from the stunning mountain and river views, we had wild turkeys, deer, hummingbirds, and even frogs. Simply Perfect.

    Jennifer2018-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Future travelers can expect quiet hosts, really nice accommodations, beautiful view of the Gorge.

    Becky2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Views out over the Columbia are lovely. The springtime bloom of balsam root under the oaks is a treasure to see. And the early morning parade headed by Tom Turkey and his entourage adds a touch of levity. Be sure to pack your wildflower field guide if you enjoy native plants. The apartment is spacious, well maintained, and comfortable throughout.

    Rebecca2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome secluded place, off the hustle and bustle, with amazing view. Very clean, spacious and well maintained. Need to take an unpaved road up hill, so recommend a four wheel drive, but the place is well worth the drive.

    Bipin2018-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick was very accommodating & helpful from the beginning of our trip planning to our check out time. His place is on the lower level of their home with a private entrance & deck with amazing views of the Columbia River. It was the perfect Mother’s Day getaway for my mother, daughter & I. Be sure to follow Patrick’s directions & not GPS to get there & if at all possible, arrive when it’s light out since it is definitely off the beaten path.

You’ll love our place with its Queen bed and the quiet and coziness. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
With a safe place for Bikes, and other outdoor equipment, no one has to leave their sports equipment in or on the car.
we are a central neighborhood in The Dalles its quiet, close to Sorosis Park on the hill and Close to our Downtown Core. No matter where you go in The Dalles its 10 minutes from end to end. We love our local merchants, Baldwin Saloon has fresh seafood in a historical building, RiverTap has patio seating and is more Pub Food. You can walk to the downtown core in about 20 minutes. We have lots of Historic buildings and the Fort Dalles Museum is a must see.
  • The "Caboose" was a high point of our trip to the Northwest. Crystal & Dan's place is a "must" experience. We stayed in many hotels but this was the best. We loved having coffee in the morning on the patio; sometimes by ourselves and sometimes having a good chat with Dan & Crystal. We keep referring to the Caboose as a cottage, so well equipped with everything anyone could want. From two people who are picky about where we stay, you will never be disappointed with Crystal & Dan's "Caboose."

  • Crystal and dans place was the best! Super clean cottage with all the amenities you need. They are also the kindest people and provided a lot of wonderful tips about the area and places to see around the beautiful Columbia River. We would love to come back if we’re ever in the area again!

    Caroline2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The ‘not a caboose’ was well equipped and comfy in a quiet neighborhood. You can walk down to the main part of town. But that means up on the way back but hey, you can indulge in dessert at Baldwin’s Saloon (great food) and burn off the calories walking home. Dan and Crystal are friendly and welcoming. The town has lovely historical buildings, a great waterfront trail and good restaurants. We had a fun couple of hours at the quirky Sunshine Mill wine tasting room. Wish we could have stayed in town longer, but we will be back.

  • This place is great! Its cozy, quiet, and well appointed. Crystal and Dan are great, really friendly and easy to stay with. We sat and played cards on thier comfy back deck and enjoyed that they even left us snacks in the kitchenette. We'd totally stay with them again as soon as our baby is better at traveling-

  • All the positive reviews were spot on. Lodging was immaculately clean, comfortable, and well provisioned with all you need for a comfortable stay. Great value. Highly recommended.

    Chris2017-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • The place was comfortable and had everything I needed. Crystal and Dan were gracious to let me book the room only one day in advance! The Dalles is super close to fun nature and other nearby towns.

    Marcella2017-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the Caboose Cottage! Very clean, comfortable, and well supplied. We were close to stores and restaurants as well as recreational opportunities. Lovely neighborhood for walking (felt safe even walking at night). Crystal and Dan are wonderful hosts (so take advantage of having a chat with them). We felt like we had privacy but also felt welcome in their space. We'd definitely stay here again.

    Joanne2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet but there is a moderately busy (for a small town) road behind the house that did have some traffic. (If you are from a big city then it is trivial, if you want 100% quiet, then you'll hear it.) The hosts were very friendly, informative and accommodating. Would easily recommend people to stay there.

Hood River is only about 20 mins to the west on I-84 and the town of The Dalles about the same to the east. The road in front of my property, 7 Mile Hill, is a road bikers dream! There are numerous and beautiful hiking and mtn biking trails very close by. There are also several wine tasting rooms in very close proximity and access to the river, windsurfing, kiting, and SUPing only minutes away in the towns of Mosier and nearby Hood River. • This place was so gorgeous! Such a cute little cabin tucked away from everything and in a perfect area for hiking. Needed a little getaway for a night and was grateful this airbnb had a 1 night minimum option. Also, thank you Cynthia for the complimentary bottle of wine! Much needed. ❤

The views and peaceful environment really made this place a bargain! She was very responsive to our questions and had some great suggestions of what to explore. We can't wait to stop by again!

Temperatures are dropping here in The Dalles, but with colder temps comes the holiday tidings! Fall and winter are beautiful seasons along the Columbia River. Bedroom has a desk, dresser, double bed, chandelier, and a decor that gives it a victorian look. Built by a riverboat captain decades ago, the room offers Internet access with a private deck, over looking the Columbia river and our city center! Spend the cool evening relaxing with a view.

We built (with help from local craftspersons) our hand crafted cabin in 2014. It is settled in among oak trees and prairie vistas. The cabin is 5 miles S. of Mosier with a fabulous view of Mount Adams and the Gorge. The open floor plan and vaulted ceiling make this small cabin feel large. A full bath (with a fabulous shower) and kitchen make this an easy place to enjoy your retreat. Take a hike or explore wildflowers and wildlife from the porch. Bring your bike or board we have plenty of room!
You will find hand crafted features in every nook and cranny of our cabin. It is restful and quiet, warm in the winter, cool in the summer. A great place to rest after your outdoor activities. Could be a lovely artists/writers retreat. We are open to long term stays too.
Quiet country setting. The east end of the Gorge has been compared to Tuscany. We could not agree more, the views are amazing, the wine is internationally renowned, the food is great! Summer comes early and stays late. We are located half way between Hood River and The Dalles. While they are very different from each other we enjoy both communities. Hood River for the windsports, shopping attractions, art and music. The Dalles for the Discovery Museum, antiques, and the local Fred Meyers when you find you just have to have another six pack or bottle of wine. Visit MoCo the newest restaurant in Mosier for some very friendly local flavor! (5 miles to town by bike or car) Last summer we discovered Tango lessons (we are absolute novices, but there were also some highly skilled dancers) on the last Saturday of each month at the Maryhill Museum. Words cannot describe what a wonderful experience it was, you should try it. Maryhill is about 30 minutes from here.
  • This was a spectacular place to stay! I very highly recommend it! The cabin is beautiful and comfortable and it felt like coming home at the end of every day. There are many nice extra touches that were pleasant surprises...the battery candles, the pantry, and of course...Mary's Granola! I did copy the recipe and I'll be making that :-). I also enjoyed my breakfast and dinner companions...the many deer, wild turkeys and all kinds of different birds. This is a must stay location. I can't wait to go back!!

    Laura2018-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed 16 nights and wish it had been double this. This cabin, property and hosts are magical. Highly Recommended! We've been staying in Airbnb rentals almost 6 years and this cabin is beyond description. The pictures DO NOT do justice to the beauty of the surrounding hills, the silence endemic to land, the privacy due to few neighbors and the consideration for each other of the few there are. The kitchen, while small, is the best tooled ever. John and Mary are superb hosts and generously share a tremendous value if you love stars, natural beauty and a slow day.

    Ken & Lore2018-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cabin with so many special touches. You will have everything you need to wind down and relax when visiting the Columbia Gorge.

  • Our weekend with Mary was absolutely lovely—from booking until we checked out. The location is amazing. Mary was a superior host and the cabin was perfect. We look forward to going back soon!

    Brandy2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Mary and John’s cabin was such an incredibly beautiful experience. When we arrived, we were blown away at the detail and design of the cabin. It is a space that captures so much creativity. We also loved the outdoors and the land, and we saw Mount Adams from the home. The landscape is beautiful, and the home earthy as there are many nice plants and big windows to look out of. Communication was excellent and local information was also provided. We cooled both nights in the wonderful kitchen which had *everything* under the sun, and the breakfast items were delicious (especially Mary’s granola, which we finished...!) We hope to return one day as we loved the experience. If this place is available during your dates, book! Thank you Mary and John!

    Aidan2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Mary and John's cabin is absolutely outstanding. The views are spectacular and the cabin has all the amenities for a pleasant vacation. John gave us great tips about the area and replied to any questions instantly. We highly recommend this space to anyone looking for fresh air and relaxation.

    Jonas2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in this great little cabin. Wonderful views and great location to do all the fun things on the gorge area! Highly recommend Mary and Johns cabin.

    Amy2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This adorable little cabin set amidst a field of old oak trees is the perfect country getaway! The beautiful views, song birds, fresh warm breezes and sunshine are only a few of the warm welcomes we received.. We came to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary and this was the perfect place! The hosts thought of everything.. A welcome note, full coffee & tea bar, bottle of wine, breakfast supplies, just to name a few.. It’s truly a home away from home! We met the hosts Mary & John who made themselves available if we were to need anything, but lived far enough away where we felt the privacy of the hills. They are excellent hosts and I highly recommend this cozy, eclectic cabin!

On the edge of town with wild life and open space to walk and ride bikes. At the base of the cliff so the walk is steep uphill.
  • This was a pleasant place to settle in after our mad dash out of Madras after the eclipse. There is a spacious living room, kitchen, office and bedroom, and a decent supply of kitchen utensils. Austin, the neighbor let us in and gave us a quick orientation. The Dalles is a small enough city that living on the edge of town was not an inconvenience. We were 5 minutes or less from the downtown restaurants and stores.

  • Chelsea and her family were awesome. The place is tucked away in the hills of The Dalles, right outside of town but everything in town is lessthan a ten minute drive. Met a couple of the neighborhood deer which was cool. I'll definitely keep this place in mind if I come back.

  • This is a very comfortable apartment with a well-appointed spacious kitchen. The washer and dryer are a great convenience. And Chelsea and her family are super accommodating. I enjoyed the views of the Columbia and surrounding area on my morning and evening walks. My conference was actually in Hood River. The old highway between The Dalles and Mosier is spectacularly beautiful -- well worth the extra 15 to 20 minutes at least once.

  • This centrally located home is perfect for day trips of all kinds. The home is clean and very comfortable. I slept as well as I would have in my own bed. The washer and dryer was so helpful. I had more than enough space to really enjoy myself. Large closet and chest of drawers for my extended visit to my family. I will stay here every time I visit the area. The hosts are awesome.

Spacious 3 bedroom 2 bath home in a safe but central neighborhood. About a half a mile uphill from the town center, its a fun walk or a very short drive from almost everything to eat, drink or see in town. All the basics are stocked in the kitchen and the bathrooms. The fenced yard is kid friendly. Please check the house rules for important check in information.
Private and spacious with simple amenities. Well located and inconspicuous in an historic and rapidly developing city. Quiet neighbors and a safe neighborhood close to downtown. There is a market just about 2 blocks uphill if you need something in a hurry. Everything else you could want is just about half a mile downhill along 2nd and 3rd street in the historic commercial district.

  • This home was absolutely perfect! I went to celebrate my boyfriends birthday in the dalles and we couldn't have asked for a better setting. There's beautiful views from the patio outside, and all rooms are very spacious and stocked with cozy blankets and lots of amenities in the bathrooms! Greg the host was very nice and went out of his way to help us get checked in late due to an ice storm. If your in The Dalles, this is a great alternative to an overpriced hotel room.

View of columbia river gorge from living area, kitchen and bathroom. Open with high ceilings and eclectic collection of furniture and art. On curb of historic highway 30. Hood River is 6 miles by bike on carfree bike route.
    Like new kitchen with wood floors, stone counter, and modern bathroom. Heated pool with separate spa tub, small gym with a basic setup for a workout. Close to kayaking, windsurfing, mountain and street biking, kite surfing, hiking, and summer and winter activities. (Pool is quite cold after Oct 1, but the spa and gym are still open}
Mosier is a small orchard town with a couple of places to eat and drink. Rack and Cloth makes hard cider and offers tasty light foods and some local produce. There is also a local bar nearby. A convenience store offers basics. Hood river is a few minutes by car.
  • The place was perfect! Amazing view of the gorge and sunset, clean unit, and comfortable bed. We had a great stay and will definitely be back to stay again! The town of Mosier is a short 10 min drive to Hood River. Lanny was very accommodating and responded promptly to questions before our arrival. There is a train track and the freeway pretty close, which you can hear well from the deck, however the noise is barely there when inside with doors/windows shut. You can't hear it at all from the bedroom so sleeping wasn't an issue.

    Kellie2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful condo and fantastic location! We had a fantastic time at Lanny's place. It was beautiful, spacious, and clean. The bed was great! And what a view!! What a location - world class cycling is literally right out your front door. Also hiking, kite boarding, wind surfing is all right there. You do have to drive a few short minutes to get to the restaurants and shops in Hood River, but that was just fine by us. Lanny was very responsive anytime we sent a text, and she made sure we had everything we needed. There is a little pool and clubhouse in the development and we had a great time taking our 9 month old daughter swimming. Fantastic - thank you very much!

    Chris & Erica2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our communication with Lanny was excellent. The day before our arrival she sent us the key code to enter the very clean condo. Inside there was detailed instructions on the table regarding amenities and activities. We took advantage of the hiking trail (which was directly across the street) and hiked up to to top of the plateau for an amazing view of the river. We enjoyed going for a walking tour in the Historic Town and everyone waved at us as the drove by.

  • This was our first Airbnb experience and it was fantastic!. The condo was everything and more as described in the listing. • Immaculate, modern apartment with gorgeous view of the Columbia. We were a little worried when we first saw the train tracks, but they presented no problem at all. We slept like babies on the very comfortable bed. Good communication with host. Recommended.

  • Great place to stay. This condo is located in the heart of beauty, history and legend. Millions of years of geology, glacial floods, thousands of years of humans living their stories, yards from the paths of the Corps of Discovery, David Thompson, and the early Europeans, and a really comfortable place to watch the river flow on by. Great kitchen, bathroom. The bed is very good. I recommend the drive up Rt 30 to The Dalles.

My Bunk Room is a large double suite with a private bath and separate entrance in a secluded woodland farm setting. Hike or bike directly from the door. Minutes from waterfront parks and trailheads at Mosier or Rowena. Twelve minutes drive from Hood River. Adjacent library/sitting room, home gym, outdoor hot tub. Bicycles, SUPs, kayak available at small extra charge.
First, some notes for Wint (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) . The bicycles and SUPs are put away the season. Many of the hiking trails west of Hood River are still closed due to last summer's wildfire, but everything to the east is open. Check with the park or Forest Service websites for information on specific sites. Winter weather can make travel difficult in the gorge and if we get deep snow, the driveway may become impassable to low-slung vehicles. Check conditions before you travel. I designed the Bunk Room as a casual, versatile, retreat for friends and family visiting the farm for a day or for a season. It has hosted colleagues who needed a quiet place to work on a manuscript and groups of teenagers who came to work the cherry harvest. There are currently two full beds, two desks, two walk-in closets with bureaus, satellite and DSL connections, mini-fridge and microwave and a large adjacent bath with walk-in shower and jacuzzi tub. There are two additional fold-out beds in the sofa and the sitting room sectional for a possible 4 total double beds. Spacious for two, fairly comfortable for four or even six. (Small additional charge for more than two.) The downstairs entrance is directly adjacent. A game trail crosses the meadow directly below the house, so if you glance out the window, you may see deer, coyotes, and wild turkeys strolling by. The daylight basement stays cool in the summer so no AC is needed. It has electric heat for the cool season. Breakfast is generally around (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) You are welcome to share what I'm having or use the kitchen to prepare your favorites. I can't guarantee that others will like what I cook, but it is a bit of a drive to a restaurant.
My home is located in a secluded private woodland on our family farm. We are located directly on or next to popular bicycling and hiking routes. People frequently stop here to photograph our wildflowers! Waterfront beaches at Mosier or Rowena are only a few minutes drive (or bicycle). The Dalles and Hood River are both about fifteen minutes drive (or a slightly longer bike ride.) There are many possibilities for scenic drives, winery and museum tours and other seasonal attractions. Mosier is on the eastern slope of the Cascade range and marks the beginning of transition to the drier climate of Eastern Oregon. As you travel from Portland, this is often "the first place that it isn't raining."
  • We enjoyed staying at Todd's Woodland Retreat! It was very comfortable. Within driving distance of Mt. Hood and other hiking spots. He offered breakfast the next morning but we are not early birds. Very thoughtful tho.

  • Todd was a super host. He was very considerate and flexible with our schedule. He fully surprised us with his kickass breakfast, and his facility had lots to offer. The gym was a bonus, He had a fridge full of water, and his property is the perfect retreat spot.

  • Todd was very fast to respond to my questions and a very generous, quiet, knowledgeable and thoughtful host. His home is lovely and in beautiful, quiet location. Definitely off the beaten-trail but in easy (and very scenic) driving distance of many wonderful features of the Columbia Gorge. It was a business trip for me but well-worth the short commute to town vs. staying in town. I just was sorry I didn't have more time to explore. The room was spacious and well-appointed, the bed sooo comfy and the view gorgeous. Perusing his library was a treat too.

  • Todd was great and very welcoming. We had a great time and would stay again.

  • Todd was a great host and stayed up late to greet us even though we arrived around 11. He showed us around briefly before getting out of the way so we could set up for the evening. Mornings were great with some casual conversations over breakfast as we planned out day. Todd was helpful with suggestions of things to do (we went for a great hike) as well as what was happening in the local towns. The how was great, large and very comfertable. We had the basement to ourselves and felt like we had our own little space. Overall, we had a great trip and a great weekend. Very relaxing!

Ditch the hustle and bustle of the daily grind and escape to the tranquility of The Pines Guest House. Our comfortable, two-story farmhouse has everything you need to feel right at home. It boasts 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a dining room, kitchen, living room, seating area with desk (and free wifi), reading nook, and lots of outdoor space to explore.
This 450 acre property is only 4 miles outside of downtown The Dalles but feels like you're in old Europe. Serving as a dairy farm that was operated between the Twenties and Forties, it is now a well known site for growing vineyards, and provides wine storage for our winery.
Our farm is located 4 miles southwest of The Dalles. Surrounded by towering pine trees and a yearlong creek fed by Mt. Hood, our property is a little oasis away.
  • We had a great stay here as a group of four. The house is spacious and cozy tucked away enough to be quiet and peaceful with easy access to the Dalles, Hood River, and the Gorge. Clean and as described. Quick communication and easy check-in/check-out made it even better!

  • Me and my co-workers had a perfect time. The house was warm, clean and amazingly accommodating for us. Quiet peaceful seating that was close to town allowed us to relax and rest after long day but also get food and other necessities. We will definitely be using this house again if available when we have work out of town or for personal vacation time!

Lovely craftsman set atop the bluff in The Dalles, overlooking the Columbia River, the Washington foothills, city lights and The Dalles Dam. The home has been fully updated inside (though the kitchen still has some remaining work to be done) and the exterior renovation will follow. There is a huge front porch to enjoy the evening views. A very short walk to downtown restaurants and shopping.
Bedroom has views of the river, territorial, and the dam and city lights. Clean, updated, stylish and cozy. While not an en suite there is a bathroom right next to the guest room and typically the other upstairs bedroom is unoccupied so 95% of the time guests will have sole use of the bathroom.
Our home is located on 'The Bluff' in The Dalles. This is the area directly above the downtown area. It is an eclectic neighborhood comprised mostly of older homes of many different vintages and styles. Our home is on a quiet street with minimum auto traffic.
  • Great space with an easy walk to down to the restaurants, brewery’s and shops by way of the old city stairs. The house and room are clean and neat, the host response is excellent!

They were so welcoming from the moment we arrived, suggested so many wonderful activities and places we could eat at, the place was so clean and smelled great. Everything about our stay was really perfect, The Dalles was amazing and the host added the cherry on top. This was the best airbnb experience - highly recommend. They left us a cute little gift bag with a note along with local tips and coupons for places. It is such a safe inviting neighborhood and a very clean space! I had the best time in Oregon!

  • Lovely place, perfectly located. Really quiet with a great view on the Columbia River Gorge. Very charming. Douglas is an amazing host.

    Sebastien2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Doug was a gracious host - provided suggestions of places to go, made us feel welcome, etc. The space was clean and the bed was comfortable. The view from the deck (upper level which Doug shared) was a great view of the gorge! The location was as expected, but for those who haven't done much research yet Lyle is a little more off the beaten path. We generally needed to leave town to get meals, etc, but the drive for restaurants was short. For us the more reasonable price was worth being a little further from the action, but something to be aware of. Just to clarify, there is a tub and it has a hand held shower wand, but you cannot take a stand up shower (unless you want to get water everywhere). Totally doable, but again something to be aware of. Overall, it worked for what we were looking for.

    Andy2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The basement guesthouse was very comfortable (king size bed & jacuzzi tub!) and exactly what we were looking for during our visit to that area of the Columbia River gorge. Douglas was very accommodating and the place was spotless. Would definitely recommend to others.

    Mara2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect location for a quick weekend getaway. The hospitality was more than i expected, and the house was tastefully outfitted and decorated. The massive jet tub was a highlight, not to mention the amazing views!

  • Douglas is a warm and friendly host. He welcomed us when we reached there and made us feel comfortable in his place. He was interactive and always available for any questions and help. We went on this trip with my parents who were visiting us from India. He made my parents feel comfortable and at home. The apartment is very beautiful and cozy. It sits on the side of hill with a very beautiful and breathtaking view of Columbia gorge. Douglas was kind and invited us to sit on the deck and enjoy the view of gorge and sunset. We highly recommend this place and we will definitely stay here again.

    Ashok2016-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our first time with AirBnB, and Douglas' first guests! He has created a lovely apartment that makes you feel relaxed, with comfortable and attractive furnishings, and beautiful art and accents - not to mention the wonderful jacuzzi bathtub in the large bathroom decorated in reclaimed wood, with organic scented soap and lotion. We appreciated this after a full day of hiking and wine tasting! The spacious apartment is downstairs, with windows and a porch along the garden. The views from the deck above, which he invites you to share, are especially nice at sunset. Douglas is a very gracious host, and we enjoyed chatting with him very much. He suggested the Lyle Hotel/Restaurant for dinner, and we do too! The food was great, and we ate outside, listening to live music. Thank you, Douglas!

The City of Mosier is a small community of 430 people on the south bank of the Columbia River an hour east of Portland, Oregon. It has its roots in the fruit orchard industry. There are two dinning choices in Mosier - Rack & Cloth and Mosier Company (MoCo). There is also Mosier Market for essentials. Mosier is connected by the pedestrian and bicycles only historic Hwy. 30 to the world famous windsurfing town of Hood River, 7 miles to the West. The Historic Columbia River Highway winds along the Columbia basalt cliffs to outstanding gorge views. In the spring, acres of breathtaking wildflowers blanket the hills. Hiking, biking, and bird watching are favorite recreational activities. Wineries and local orchards are scattered throughout the greater Mosier Valley. Mosier is located in a transitional weather zone between the moist, heavily-forested west side of the Cascades and the drier bunch grass prairies of the arid central Oregon desert region. You might notice this when you look out the windows and see the transition from trees to sagebrush covered hillsides. The climate is also different to Portland, typically Mosier gets 30-45 more sunshine days per year, less rain, and the average temperature is warmer in summer months by 10-15 degrees and colder by the same in winter months.
  • An absolutely wonderful get-away. The condo was spotless, streamlined and equipped with all necessities for a wonderful stay - beautiful bathroom, cozy couch, fireplace, blankets, washer/dryer, fitness room & spa - so much better than any hotel! D'Ann was wonderful in communicating and there is a binder in the condo with easy directions for check-in/out. Highly recommend for a quite weekend away.

  • Amazing place with spectacular views, close to the hood river and the mountain hood trails/ski resorts.

    Alexey2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • The condo is in a cute, well cared for community not to far from the heart of Hood River. The gorge is right out the living room windows and offer amazing sunrise/sunset views. The condo is spacious, inviting and very well cared for. The hosts offer outstanding customer service and were very friendly! I would gladly recommend this rental to anyone looking to get away from the city.

  • DAnn sent us the welcome message four days in advance. She welcomed us in person and explained everything and she even recommended dinning and things to do. She's very warm and kind. What a nice host! Location is good. It's only ten minutes drive to hood river. The mosier plateau trail is just next to the community.

  • I have nothing but amazing things to say about D’Ann and Steve’s place. They know what they are doing. Great atmosphere, accurate to the posting along with wonderful amenities. Make sure to check out the pool. You will need transportation to get to hood river for the restaurants and bars. I would absolutely book again.

    Jesi2018-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Really comfortable place, really enjoyed just hanging out in the unit and taking in the amazing views especially at sunset and sunrise. Mosier is a small town but very close to Hood River; MoCo and Rack & Cloth are two gem restaurants within walking distance that are a must-see.

    Keith2018-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had a wonderful three-day stay in this condo. It was exactly as described and had every amenity we wanted. It is perfect for a couple. Everything was spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the view spectacular. If you are concerned about the proximity to the highway or the railroad, the condo is well insulated and the bedroom in particular is very quiet (I am a light sleeper and never heard anything in there). Mosier is very small, but beautiful and close to Hood River, which has many good restaurants and all the stores you'd need, and lots of hikes, wineries, orchards, etc. The one little restaurant in town is a little haphazard (we got the last pizza (which is basically all they serve) two hours before closing on the night we went) but the quality is very high and it's worth a visit (as is the little farmers market on Sundays). D'Ann was an excellent host, very easy to work with before we arrived and responsive when we were there (even though she was out of town, she had a neighbor stop by to deal with a very minor issue). D'Ann is thoughtful about anticipating her guests' needs and provided good recommendations on where to go for tastings, local hikes, etc. (very good manual in the condo). I would highly recommend this rental and we hope to stay here again.

    Chris2016-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at D’Ann and Steve’s condo, and we had another incredible getaway! The accommodations are clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The kitchen has all the amenities you could ever need. And the view is remarkable. We have fallen in love with Mosier. We love to hike to Mosier Plateau, bike the twin tunnels trail, kayak at Lost Lake, and spend some time at local wineries (Maryhill and Annalemma). The vegetarian pizza at The Rack and Cloth is the best thing ever, and we aren’t even vegetarians! D’Ann is super responsive, and has made us feel incredibly welcome on both of our visits. We hope to return again soon!!!

An updated doublewide home perched on a basalt knoll with 11 beautiful acres overlooking vineyards and the Columbia River. Views include river and gorge to the west and north. In springtime see waterfalls on the Washington cliffs. Located 8 miles east of Hood River, Twin Oaks is near Mosier on scenic Hwy 30. This is in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge, with nearby hiking, biking, watersports, boat ramp, & ski areas. Enjoy the numerous wineries and local microbrews in the area.
Twin Oaks house is a one-level, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1800 square feet. This is an 80's doublewide; but don't worry, shag carpet is gone and most of the wallpaper is painted over. We are gradually updating and improving it, and it's a very clean and comfortable space now. Let's call it an artsy cabin ambiance with touch of Ikea.
The setting is oak and pine prairie and meadow with basalt outcroppings. The landscape is natural, and we regularly see deer, turkey, coyote, redtail hawk, osprey vulture, bald eagle, and golden eagle. The bird feeders attract red and yellow finch, nuthatch, towhee, chickadee, western bluebird, redwing blackbird, western tanager, sparrow, and junco. Enjoy wildflowers April-May. Two nearby hikes provide more opportunities to connect to nature. Two wineries with tasting rooms are within walking distance.
  • We stayed for 3 days at the house. The location of the house is amazing and you can get magnificent views of the Columbia river gorge from there. The host Laura and Mike were very responsive. The house is huge and has 3 big bedrooms and 2 big bathrooms; very spacious. It has a beautiful porch with cute bird houses. The kitchen was well stocked. We would highly recommend this place and its perfect for a family vacation. We would love to come back here!!!

  • We had an amazing time here while we explored the Columbia River Gorge. Our favorite part of staying here was the view from the back porch which looked over a sweeping vista of fruit trees down to the river. If you book, don't miss the opportunity for an amazing sunset from the back porch. The hosts Laura and Mike were gracious and helped our stay be one we won't forget.

    Lauren2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Mike were great hosts. Their house has the best view of the gorge. The open bar outside the porch overlooking the river is special, we spent most of our time there. They were generous with the provisions, even gave us coal for the barbecue, and a wine bottle. Overall good stay.

  • This area was incredibly beautiful. The other guests and I had a wonderful time. Laura was a great host. She helped ensure we were able to find the place after a fire had closed down one of the main roads. On Saturday afternoon, we needed an iron and Laura saved the day by bringing one over in under 15 minutes.

    Landon2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our family (4 of us, parents and adult children) enjoyed staying here. House is in a secluded plot of land with amazing views of the gorge. Short walking paths around the property offer different views of the gorge. Bird feeders off the deck let you see all kinds of warblers or finches. All the fixings for coffee were a nice touch.

    Janet2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • My sister and I really enjoyed this home. It's secluded with a great view of the Columbia Gorge and lots of birds around as they feed the birds. Although the place is secluded it is close and easy to get to any activities we wanted to do, hiking, biking, restaurants, visiting wineries and fruit stands, etc. I would definitely stay here again.

Large comfortable home on 40 acres. MSA has also been a retreat center and a BnB over the last 20 years. Enjoy a great view of Mt. Hood or stunning star show as you soak in the hot tub . There are accommodations for about 18 people. We are located in between Hood River, The Dalles, OR and Goldendale WA with a view of the Columbia River for hikers. Visiting the Goldendale Observatory with its new powerful telescope or watching wind surfers/kiters would be exciting.
MSA is very green. We have passive solar plus geothermal for heat, solar panels for hot water, mostly organic food, much from garden. The view of Mt. Hood and Cascades with much sunshine is outstanding. Enjoy a grand piano, library, three "living room" areas, solarium and peaceful country space. For children, there is a "toy closet" with fun things for all ages. For older teens and adults, there is a basket ball hoop (and balls), a horse shoe court, and great hiking areas. Many games, puzzles and library are available as well as a hot tub with a view of the stars.
It is totally quiet and peaceful, with a minimum of traffic or neighborhood noise. Sunrises and sunsets are often unbelievable and we have about 300 days with sunshine each year. One neighbor is available for massage. Usually one sees a coyote or some deer, wild turkey and other wildlife. Great hiking trails, especially along the Klickitat River.
  • Audrey was great--she welcomed us and gave us the necessary info, and was nearby if we needed her. We loved the views from the living room (when it was too hot to go outside) and from the deck. The deck in particular was marvelous--we hung out on the east side in the morning to catch the warming sun rays, on the west side in the evening to watch the sun set, and on the north side in the night to enjoy the hot tub and the stars. The bathrooms were well-stocked with towels and TP, the beds were comfy, the AC worked, and the kitchen, though small, was adequate. We hope to come back again some day!

  • The house was exactly as described and perfect as a home base for our family and the friends of our daughter who was getting married nearby. Audrey was extremely frendly and helped so much when we needed extra supplies to bake a wedding cake. The house is in beautiful place and we wish that we had had more time to truly experience the wonderful views

    Susan2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We used the location for a working retreat and it was lovely. Having a hot tub and a piano was delightful and the kitchen was totally functional for a large group. We didn't get the full benefit of the view because it stayed overcast, but still better weather than we would have had in Portland. Thanks Audrey!

  • We had an amazing time at the house with a group of friends in town for a wedding. The dogs loved roaming the property and the views were spectacular. Very well equipped for cooking for a bunch of people.

  • A nice home- worked well for large group. Great views, hot tub, secluded. The house could use some updating. The host Audrey was lovely

  • A wonderful, quite, large home. Very appropriate for large groups, especially those who are willing to share common sleeping spaces. Audrey was very accommodating allowing an early check-in and late check-out. This is our second stay, and will likely not be our last. Thank you Audrey!

Escape the demands of city life in this cozy garden apartment. Walk to the Lyle sand bar, Klickitat Trail, wine tasting, the historic Lyle Hotel, or visit the 5 wineries within 3 miles of Lyle. Close to Hood River and all the sights. This basement studio apt is a separate rental from the upstairs of my home which is also avail for rent. Includes central air/heat, fully equipped kitchen, BBQ grill, wifi, shared access to a fenced backyard & shared laundry Ask about DISCOUNTS for monthly rentals!
The space is quite rustic, with cement floors and a river rock shower in the 3/4 bathroom. A perfect crash-pad for the outdoor gorge adventurer. It features a full kitchen and your own BBQ grill. My goal is to provide a safe, quiet and comfortable place for you to rest and relax during your stay in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. If you have an extra guest (beyond 3, extra fee applies). Enjoy your stay!
Lyle is a rustic little town, nothing fancy, but it's quiet, safe and offers easy access to everything the Gorge has to offer. It's located on a quiet street, just off the Klickitat Hwy. Just steps from the Klickitat Trailhead, which runs along the beautiful and scenic river where world-class fishing and our local swimming hole await. It you like kayaking and tubing you have come to the right place. We are just 3 blocks from Hwy 14, the Lewis & Clark Trail and the sand bar, where kiters come from around the world to visit. On a calm day, the shallow water also makes it a fun family venue for dogs, kids and a picnic lunch. The hillside access is to the sandbar is quite steep so elderly or little ones may need some help getting up or down. Doug's beach, one of the Gorge's most popular sailboarding destinations is just 3 miles east on hwy 14. We have two wine tasting rooms in Lyle, Memaloose and Tetrahedron. Memaloose is walking distance, on hwy 14. The Tetrahedron Winery is just a 3 blocks east on Hwy 14. Lyle also boasts a cafe, bar & grill, grocer, or if you are in the mood for a fine dining experience, you can visit the historic Lyle Hotel. There are 5 wineries within 3 miles of Lyle and about 50 within 25 miles, so if wine tours are on your "must do" list you won't be disappointed. For more shopping and nightlife, you can visit the many shops, pubs and eateries in The Dalles, White Salmon or Hood River, all just 15-20 minutes away by car.
  • Gloria was a very sweet host during our month stay. We enjoyed the scenery and the rivers, and the back yard was great for kids and pets.

    Alison2015-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Gloria's place is perfect if you're coming in to hike the area or kiteboard (we enjoyed both!). As it says, this is the basement level, so not too much light comes into the space itself, but the light in the common room and the gorgeous backyard will fill that need! The space is very well-utilized and comfortable for two or three people, and the kitchen is very well-equipped. Thank you, Gloria!

    Katie2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • GREAT space !!! BEAUTIFUL backyard !!! AWESOME location !!! CONSTANT contact from Miss Gloria - she made us feel VERY welcome and was an AMAZING host !!! Blessings and Thank You !!! :-)

    Andrea2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in Lyle at Gloria's. While it's a daylight basement with low ceilings, our dog and us were satisfied. She gave us great ideas of local things to do.

    Paul2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lyle is a beautiful, small town that offers ample hiking and going out opportunities, like Gloria describes. The space is cozy offering just what I needed for a long term stay and then some. Gloria has worked very hard on the place and it shows. The garden outside is beautiful, and it was a pleasure getting to see the property transform during the spring bloom. Getting to know Gloria too was a great gift during the stay, and I hope we stay in touch as we move forward!

    Rose2016-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Gloria was a great host and extremely responsive if we had any questions. I got to meet her and she is so wonderful in person as well! The place had everything we needed, we left the door open to get some sun, it had a great yard with amazing fruit and my dog enjoyed it as well! It was so great to explore hood river

    Sogand2018-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Gloria has equipped her place well and responds quickly to any questions you may have. As a finished basement, the place is a bit dark, but the back yard and general setting are nice. (Do watch out for low ceilings if you are tall and the entry doorway if you are over 5'6")

    Paul2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • When we arrived it was 95 degrees! Our basement cave was cool and a great comfort. My hubby and I are in our sixties and have some mobility issues. Wish I had know we'd have to navigate down narrow stairs with our luggage. But we made it! Backyard is calming with lovely trees and fruit to eat in the summer! Fast wi-fi! Gloria has been a pleasure to talk with. She was helpful all the way!

Temperatures are dropping here in The Dalles, but with colder temps comes the holiday tidings! Fall and winter are beautiful seasons along the Columbia River. Beautiful bedroom with full bed, dresser, and night table, double closet with Ceiling fan. Cozy room quiet section of the home. Restaurants, and shopping centers. Great place to relax and take in the beautiful view of the Columbia river!
Quick hop to city center, gorgeous view of Columbia River and overlooks City Center, The Dalles. Super convenient off exit 85 on I-84
5 mins from City Center. Yummy eateries, great shopping and historic locations give The Dalles a storybook town feel. Cruise down Brewery Grade and taste the wine, cross the street and be pulled into the cutest little gift shop. Head west up 2nd ave and take your pick of a wide variety of restaurants to suit any taste. New shops have popped up all over the center, so make sure you’ve got plenty of time to take it all in!

King Room. Each room is listed separatly. If you would like to occupy both rooms please see " The Starling Rooming House queen room listing to make seperate reservation)- Beautiful 1890 Victorian, lively artistic home, private rooms & shared bathrooms. Stays include breakfast. The Dalles has rich Native American & pioneer history, vista views of Eastern Columbia River Gorge, antique stores, wineries, breweries, music, great resturants, Lewis and Clark Discovery center & Maryhill Winery & museum.
Our Victorian is really special , the architecture is wonderful, inside and out and the interior of our home is all put together to dazzle! The yard is in process. We are still bringing it back to life, actively working thru a punch list on this 1890 home :)
Historic commercial district, 4th st. In The Dalles, Oregon has interesting historic homes and just a couple blocks from the shops and main street, also only a few moments from boat launch too:) only 20 minutes from Hood River, and a beautiful drive to wineries and museums.
  • Delightful hosts with a wonderful home. We really enjoyed our stay and would return on our next trip to the Dalles.

  • Love this victorian home! Tracy has a knack for bringing the home-away-from home comforts. She and Brent are fun, hospitable and very helpful for finding our way around The Dalles. Highly recommend this treasure.

  • Great hospitality. Adorable house. And lovely little touches that made my stay completely perfect.

    Ronna2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Although our stay was short the experience was great. We didn't meet Brent but Tracy was very kind and hospitable and made the best breakfast!!

  • Delightful hosts who ensure your have what you need to keep cool during a hot day. A quite and safe location. Rooms with charm and are comfortable. Expect to have a wonderful time!

    Siv2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy and Brent are truly wonderful hosts. They make sure that you're taking care of and have everything that you might need. This was our first Airbnb stay and this really set the bar high for hospitality. The room was good size and had air conditioning, which is good since it can get very hot in The Dalles. The bathroom is shared but there are plenty of amenities. We loved our stay and will do it again.

    Greg2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy & Brent have a very lovely home right in the heart of The Dalles. Their place is within a few minutes walk to downtown, shops, and several pubs. Both Tracy & Brent were sweet, personable, and very hospitable. They also have a cute little pooch names "Thunder" who will greet you as well. I have stayed at many AirBnB's and Tracy & Brent definitely top the list in terms of wonderful hosts. Tracy made an amazing quiche for breakfast that had a crust made out of potatoes and zucchini. Yum!!! They also offered us a late check out since we were heading out a little late for a bike ride. It was great to be able to get a shower in before our drive home. The home itself is full of intention, decor and character. Our room was relatively private and our bed was very comfy. Overall this was an excellent AirBnB and we would definitely stay there again!

    Susan2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Unbelievable AirBnB absolute gem of a beautiful artistic/designy space, hospitality, and experience! The best AirBnB experience I have had to date! Over the top flourishes, style, breakfast (in bed!), care, warmth, pure genius and heart! The place is a magical treasure chest of style and grace. Each corner filled with loving touches. I arrived very late after evening work, and Tracy went out of her way to greet me very warmly, and brought the most beautiful breakfast I have ever seen to me the next morning - to have in bed! Both Brent and Tracy are incredibly friendly, open, very cool, engaging, and fun! It was a pleasure and honor to have time with them. And Thunder Wolf, their pup, is part of the show! I was told one guest wanted to take him home. Completely understandable. He may be the coolest dog I have ever "met". This experience is not to be missed if you are in the Dalles! Hard to describe how perfect the place and they are. I'd have a little wedding or reception there in a heartbeat!

Just outside of Hood River, OR and about 45 min to Mt Hood or PDX. Close to recreational activities (snow & river sports, biking/hiking trails, nightlife, wine/beer/cider tasting). Columbia River views, hot tub, fireplace, modern decor. Entire home for rent.
Our home has always been a private vacation rental so its already set up for friends and family to gather in a relaxed, comfortable setting. The master suite includes a king size bed with memory foam topper as well as an attached bathroom with luxury soaking tub, separate shower and plenty of counter space. The master suite has private access to the balcony/hot tub. The other two bedrooms share a full bathroom. Our garage is set up as a game room with ping pong, pool table and darts, however please note that these items are still accessible/useable BUT we are currently using the garage to store boxes containing appliances, cabinets, and building materials for the new guest house that is under construction on the property. The hot tub overlooking the Columbia River is probably one of the finest features but cozying up by the fireplace on a cold day is a close second. Pets allowed with prior authorization only.
Our vacation home is located at the end of a quiet cul de sac, many of the homes on the street are private residences or vacation rentals, there is very little traffic, friendly neighbors, no crime, safe, walking distance to the The Mosier Company restaurant/bar or Rack & Cloth which offers house crafted cider and ethnic dining, Mosier Plateau hiking trail/waterfall, and the Mosier post office.
  • Very beautiful view and house. Be sure to leave it spotless before you check out or they will try charging you extra.

  • Stayed here for a wedding in Hood River. Location was convenient (about 8 miles down the road), the beds were comfortable, and the views were spectacular. Road noise is noticeable from the porch (but doesn't bother you given the view :), but the bedrooms are very much quiet. We appreciated that the AC units were turned on well in advance of our arrival and the house was plenty cold on a hot summer day!

  • We had a great stay! Beautiful home with an incredible view of the Columbia River. Very clean, with many amenities. The ping pong and pool table were an added bonus! • Doug was ready and waiting for our arrival. Gave a great tour of the place. Lyle is not a classy town, but Doug's place is set apart and feels very safe and the view is spectacular. There is the inevitable train and traffic noises but it's just a background rumble. We really enjoyed our stay!

    Karla2016-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • An amazingly relaxing place with the most gorgeous view from both inside and outside. Doug’s place is haven from life’s worries-you won’t want to leave! Doug is a very generous, thoughtful host.

    Roxanne2018-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at this space while in Hood River for work. It was clean and even nicer in person! The view of the gorge is beautiful from the deck. Douglas was nice and very flexible when my partner and our dog decided to join me for the trip. The host is on premise the entire time because he lives in the downstairs unit of the house and he visited us several times. I would have enjoyed a little more privacy, but it was a pleasant experience regardless.

    Tasha2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The space was delightful, the view was amazing, and sitting out on the deck at night was fantastic.

  • Douglas house is beautiful, it includes a backyard and a deck with an amazing view to the Gorge River. We really enjoyed our stay in the house. Douglas stays in an RV in the back part of the backyard of the house so he is there in case you have any problems, He is really nice and have good tips of things to do around Oregon.

    Ana+Jose2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Douglas was an awesome and friendly host. Upstairs apt was super cute and comfortable. View of the gorge is even better than the pictures. Kitchen has everything you need to cook a good meal (including an outdoor grill). We were sad to leave and hope to be able to come back!

    Monica2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Douglas's house has an amazing view of the Columbia River; with a very nice yard and porch to watch the sunset; there is plenty of natural light through all the house (windows everywhere); the kitchen is well equipped and clean, if you like to go hiking, the location is perfect, just minutes from the Lyle trailhead where you can enjoy the 13 miles beautiful rail trail up to Klickitat. Douglas gave us all the information we needed to discover the surroundings, including alternative routes with great views to the mountains, rivers and forest. 100% recommendable!!
